Soil or land pollution is a serious global environmental problem, particularly in Europe, Asia, and North Africa. There are several types of soil pollution, including agricultural soil pollution from pesticides used on crops, industrial soil pollution from toxic waste dumped on land, and urban soil pollution from city waste containing chemicals that accumulate in soil. Agricultural soil becomes polluted as pesticides used on crops get absorbed into the soil and contaminate root crops grown there. Industrial soil pollution occurs when large amounts of unused chemicals and waste from manufacturing processes are dumped on the surface of the soil near factories or cities. Urban activities generate waste like food, plastic, and glass that contains pollutants like Bisphenol and Sulfur that can permanently accumulate
