Captivate and Camtasia are both industry standards for screen capture software. Captivate, made by Adobe, allows extensive editing of screen captures and audio on a timeline, but has a steeper learning curve. Camtasia focuses only on screen capture and has an intuitive interface, but lacks additional e-learning features. For basic screen capture, Camtasia may be preferable due to its lower cost and ease of use, but Captivate provides more robust functionality and is recommended if additional e-learning tools are needed.

PowerPoint has become widely used in instructional settings, particularly for large classes focused on information exchange rather than skill building. While it can engage learners visually and increase interactivity, PowerPoint risks becoming teacher-centered and reducing student activity and feedback. Effective uses of PowerPoint involve limiting text, adding visual elements, and using the software to help students organize notes rather than replace them.

Storyboarding is used to plan, produce and evaluate multimedia presentations by providing a written synopsis of the multimedia resources and their order in the finished presentation.
In your organization, you frequently need to train others on how things are done. Whether it's for customers or new employees, there is information you know that they will benefit from.
Almost every organization offers some form of training or classes or seminars to employees (and sometimes to customers) but very few are succeeding in getting those “students” to learn. In this workshop, we will explore the use of technology and E-Learning environments to improve the actual knowledge transfer in your organization.
Much of today's learning can take place on-line in organized, downloadable segments and we'll show you the best way to create and deliver your important content using technology. We'll also discuss on-demand reference systems and the types of information that is best made available from a webpage or smartphone instead of asking people to memorize it. No more wasting time with on-the-job training or day-long classes that are not effective.
Here are some of the topics that will be covered:
• How to design courses so that learning really takes place
• What kinds of knowledge or information is best taught and what is best made available from a Wiki or other reference system?
• Tools for “recording” PowerPoint presentations (and other applications) so that others can learn on their own time
• The use of new media (video and audio) in your e-learning courseware
• Learning Management Systems and keeping track of learner’s progress
Digital distance learning, also called eLearning, involves using computer technologies and the internet to deliver instruction remotely. There are several types of eLearning including synchronous instructor-led online classes and asynchronous self-paced online courses. Blended learning combines both online and in-person instruction. The New York Institute of Finance offers over 1,500 hours of eLearning content across many business topics that can be accessed anywhere through an internet-connected computer.

The lyrics reflect on Van Gogh's life and work through references to his starry night paintings and portraits.

Study: The Future of VR, AR and Self-Driving CarsLinkedIn
We asked LinkedIn members worldwide about their levels of interest in the latest wave of technology: whether they’re using wearables, and whether they intend to buy self-driving cars and VR headsets as they become available. We asked them too about their attitudes to technology and to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the devices that they use. The answers were fascinating – and in many cases, surprising.
This SlideShare explores the full results of this study, including detailed market-by-market breakdowns of intention levels for each technology – and how attitudes change with age, location and seniority level. If you’re marketing a tech brand – or planning to use VR and wearables to reach a professional audience – then these are insights you won’t want to miss.

Panopto CourseCast: Free Streaming of Voice and VideoBob Bertsch
CourseCast is a client/server solution that allows users to capture presentations, courses, and meetings and stream them online. It includes recording, editing, and server software. While it has some limitations like only streaming files and an unintuitive editor, Panopto offers CourseCast's core components for free to educational institutions through the Socrates Project. This includes lecture capture, streaming, indexing, search, and editing. Institutions provide a server while Panopto provides the software, limited support, and upgrades for a fee. An example project used CourseCast to convert a face-to-face workshop into an online self-paced course combining recordings with documents and quizzes.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away
