In sociology, a few theories provide broad perspectives that help explain many different aspects of
social life, and these are called paradigms. Paradigms are philosophical and theoretical frameworks
used within a discipline to formulate theories, generalizations, and the experiments performed in
support of them. Three paradigms have come to dominate sociological thinking, because they provide
useful explanations: structural functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interaction.

How the Culture of Economics Stops Economists from Studying Group Behavior an...hacyard
'Today, wealthy individuals and well-organized business and financial groups exercise their power by means of costly public relations, advertising, and lobbying activities.
By “investing” in the promotion of their interests, private financial interests have largely captured the major political parties in most democratic countries as well as the news media that communicate political events and debates to the public.
When the news media seek economists to provide commentary and insight into economic issues, more often than not they interview economists who work for business or financial firms, not independent universities or impartial
research organizations...'

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

6. Sociology and economics as social sciences have close
relationship between the two is so close that one is often treated
as the branch of the other. According to Thomas, “ Economics is,
in fact but one branch of the comprehensive science of
sociology. “
In the words of Silverman ,” It may be regarded for ordinary
purpose, as an offshoot of the parent science of sociology,
which studies the general principles of all social relations “. But this
doesn’t mean that economics is a branch of sociology.

Sociology and economics are helpful to each other. Economic relationships bear a
close relation to social activities. At the same time social relationships are also
affected by economic activities.

sociology. But this is an extreme view, economics, it may be specified here, is an
independent science.
8. Social Interpretation of Economic Changes:
Some economists, like Sombart ,Max Weber, Pareto,Schumpeter have explained
economics change as an aspect of social change. According to them, the
study of economics would be incomplete without an understanding of human
society.
Economics system is embedded in the social structure as a part of it. The society,
it’s structures, it’s organizations, it’s institutions, it’s strength and weaknesses etc.
are bound to affect the economic activities of its people. That is why a
celebrated modern economist has said that “Economics must be made the
handmaid of sociology. “
9. EconomicInterpretationof Social Changes:
At the other end, there are environmentalists like Karl Marx and Veblen
according to whom social phenomena are determined by economic forces.
According to them social reality or social change can be explained in terms of
economic forces. According to Marx, the infrastructure of a society is nothing
but the economic. However, there is a growing awareness among social
scientists about the mutual interplay between the economic and non-
economics forces of society.

labour, occupations, industrial organization etc, is provided by
