Why do women implement more stronger form or
different approach form than men
Why might woman implement a more different approach form
than man?
Topic Name:Why can’t a
woman be more like a
man?
Four ways to the difference between woman and man:
● Social status of Explanation.
● Woman role as Guardian of society’s values.
● Subordinate groups must be polite.
● The functional speech or vernacular speech of expressing gender or racial identity and
particular masculinity/Vernacular forms express machismo.
Social status of Explanation:
Topic Name:Why can’t a
woman be more like a
man?
❖ The use of more standar
speech forms as a way of
claiming such status.
❖ Woman believe that the way
they speak signals their social
class background or social
status in community. They are
more status conscious than
man.
Woman role as Guardian of society’s values
★ The society tends to expect “ better”
behaviour from women than men.
Therefore , they serve as role models for child.
★ That’s why women are designated the role of
modelling correct behaviour in the community.
However, the explanation is certainly not true for all because
the interaction between mother and child are likely to be very
relaxed and informal { vernacular forms occur most often in
everyone's speech}.
Subordinate groups must be polite

Topic Name:Why can’t a
woman be more like a
man?
❏ Women as a subordinate group:
➔ Avoid offending men.
➔ Use polite speech.
➔ Protect women’s “face”.
The functional speech or vernacular speech of expressing gender or racial identity
and particular masculinity /Vernacular forms express machismo
➢ Men prefer vernacular forms because they carry macho
connotation of masculinity and toughness.
Therefore women might not want
to use such form and use Standard
forms that associated with female values or
femininity.
In conclusion ,
1.Vital part of human connection
2. Ways of communicating
3. Masted of cognitive language.
4.Share our ideas, thoughts and feelings
with others.
Thanks a lot
