In college, I studied illustrated books from an academic standpoint. I went to Vassar, where
children's book writer Nancy Willard was on faculty. She introduced me to illustrator Barry Moser,
and the interview he gave me was the centerpiece of my senior thesis. While I was there, I spent
three years as a student assistant in Vassar's lab pre–school, and after graduation found work as an
assistant teacher in a Montessori school, teaching 6–9 year olds. That year, I began to write a novel
with my father – through the mail. I was in Chicago and he was in New York. We thought it would
be a fun way to keep in touch. I wrote a chapter – then he wrote a chapter. We rewrote each other's
chapters. And rewrote them again. It took a long time, but eventually that story was published as

Introduction
Overview
Communications skills are fundamental to any person's life because naturally, man is a social being
and people spend most of their time communicating in different forms such as; oral, non–verbal,
written and interpersonal. Most successful people are those who are good at interacting with other
people in different situations. The ability to skilfully interact with people is grounded in a person's
unwavering skills in the different forms of communication. Therefore, it is important for students to
appreciate should and develop good communication skills.
Types and Forms of Communication
Having appreciated the importance of communication in different contexts, it is imperative to
understand the different forms or categories of communication, in which people engage in. This is
because these different forms of communication demand unique sets of skills or tactics.
Oral Communication: this involves exchange of messages or information using spoken words and is
commonly referred to as communication by word of mouth. This occurs in different interaction set
ups such as meetings, talks, discussions, presentations, interviews, speeches and so on.
Written Communication: this form of communication entails the creation of a 'hard copy' of the

Five Types Of Teaching Essay
Teachers are mentors, heroes, and role models who inspire children to learn and expand their minds.
A teacher and their skills as an educator determine how much their students will learn and the
methods in which they are taught.
Children learn best from teachers who use a variety of teaching tools to convey class material. There
are different types of tools teachers can use that fit into five categories of teaching: active,
innovative, creative, effective, and fun. These five types of teaching each include methods teachers
can use to educated their students effectively and successfully.

# Creative Teaching
##
Under the creative teaching model, teachers break out of traditional teaching methods to find new
and unique ways to teach students. Creative teachers don't follow a rigid curriculum but encourage
freedom and independence. Students are asked to use their imagination and creativity to solve
problems or complete assignments. A great example would be a science teacher taking their students
on a field trip to a science museum. By getting out of a stuffy classroom they can make learning more
interesting and can provide outside resources (tour guides, museum exhibits, etc.) within the museum
to help them learn material.
# Effective Teaching
##
Effective teaching is a model where teachers try to provide students learning opportunities where
their own experiences in their life can be applied to course material. Effective learning turns life
experiences into teaching moments. Teachers provide students with tools and course material to
help them understand

Types of Friends Essay
There are a lot of important things in life. However, one of the most important things for people
to survive in this world is friendship. Without friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do
you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of
friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with
positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy and faithful whom I usually get along with are
the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend
to be alone. However, friends with negative characteristic can also give us some good examples of

They can learn to get some confidence because confidence is really important in order to perform
better. Being an overconfident person is also beneficial, as we won't get nervous easily and our
performances will be better. This kind of person isn't scared to take some risks as they have trust
and confidence in themselves. This kind of person has potential to be a really successful person in
the future. I have a friend that is really confident that when he performed for a speech competition at
school, he can speak fluently without any hesitation that made him the winner of the competition.
We can learn a lot from this kind of person. I learn that correct proportion of something, even the
thing we take as something bad, before, can turn into something good. We have to be able to
measure how confident we can be while with friends and when the confidence is really needed.
Being a competitive person can be advantageous, as this kind of person wants to be the best in
everything. As they want to be the best in everything, they will work and study harder than any
other people. They will try as hard as they can to be the best. As a result, they will get good marks
on test or get an extremely good job in the future. It is beneficial for them. For Example: I know
that being a competitive person can be advantageous as I have a friend that is competitive. She is
so competitive that in every test, she will study as hard as she can. In every test, she managed to get

Different Learning Styles Essay
Different Learning Styles
Students have different ways to learn. Some people are hands on learners or visual learners. Teachers
try to adapt the way they teach; to the way their students learn the best. The information that is being
taught should be made fun so that the students remember the information. Schools are also using new
technology to help students learn. Different learning styles have different effects on people.
Different learning styles are the talk of many school districts from near and far. The study of

Types of Vacations
Vacations are a time we use to recharge our batteries. A time to spend with the ones you love and
build lifelong memories. There are many different options to consider when choosing where and
how to vacation. Everyone has different things they consider enjoyable or relaxing. In this essay I
will discuss different types of vacations and point out some benefits of each. Some people enjoy
vacationing at the beach. The warm climate is one of the biggest selling points when deciding on a
beach vacation. You can enjoy warm weather activities like swimming picnicking or volleyball. Or
you can just completely relax. Lay out in the sand with your feet in the water and a cold beverage,
soaking up the sunshine. Beach vacations are usually...show more content...
People with this mentality would probably be more interested in the theme park or sightseeing
vacations. There are lots of things to do. The days are action packed with little or no down time.
Once you finish one thing, there are a hundred other things to do next. I personally prefer a mix
of the two. I usually like staying busy. I will get bored easily and feel like I'm wasting time if I
don't have something to do. But I don't like to feel tied down. If I spontaneously decide I want to
go do something else, I like to have that option. My grandmother on the other hand is the master
of doing nothing on vacation. A few times a year she rents a beach house or condo on the water,
then she spends the entire week inside, sitting on the couch reading books. I don't know why she
insists that she be near the water, when she will never even step outside once to look at the water.
But it's what she likes to do. And that's the whole point of vacation, getting some time that is just for
you. Whether you enjoy beaches or mountains, whether you want to chill or go on an adventure, a
vacation is a time for you to do what makes you happy. The purpose of this essay was to explore the
different styles of vacations with the thought of matching them to your

commonly used In reference to the elderly, when cognitive abilities start to slip from one's own

It affects about one person in every one million people per year worldwide; in the United States
there are about 300 cases per year. CJD usually appears in later life and runs a rapid course.
Typically, onset of symptoms occurs about age 60, and about 90 percent of individuals die within 1
year. In the early stages of disease, people may have failing memory, behavioral changes, lack of
coordination and visual disturbances. As the illness progresses, mental deterioration becomes
pronounced and involuntary movements, blindness, weakness of extremities, and coma may occur.
Reversible factors – some dementias can be treated by reversing the effects of underlying causes,
including medication interactions, depression, vitamin deficiencies (for example,

Different Types of Lies Essay
"To lie is to state something that one knows to be false or that one does not honestly believe to be
true with the intention that a person will take it for the truth". (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie) In
other words, lying is a purposeful misleading statement. This statement can be made verbally,
through body language, or even implied through silence. Based on lying being well defined, some
might say that lying is always wrong unless there is a good reason for it. In that case, I would argue
that lying is not always wrong.
There are two different types of lies. The first types of lies are called true falsehoods. These types of
lies are always wrong. The only purpose for telling this type of lie is for one's self interest or...show

suddenly she feels very uncomfortable and unsafe being alone with this boy. She decides she

truth. So instead she decides to tell him that she remembered something she had promised her mom
she would do for her before she got home from work. She knows later on, when she is in a more
controlled environment, that she will tell this boy the truth because she knows he needs to know.
Another simpler yet common example would be misrepresentations of the truth in responding to
the question "How are you doing?" A person's answer would depend on the relationship that they
have with that person. A relationship that is not close at all would most likely bring a response
that would be short and on a positive note like, "everything is fine," even if it was not true. This
response would be given to that person because it may not be appropriate or a good idea to let them
know otherwise.
Another example would be a police officer during a sting operation. Is it correct for her to pose as
a prostitute in order to catch actual prostitutes? This would be considered a lie based on the fact that
the officer is intentionally trying to come across as something other than she really is. It would be

Essay on Personality Types
Our mind works like a computer and our way of thinking acts as its inputs. Our thoughts keep on
gathering into it and slowly, they entrench deep down in solid states. We can divide personality in
two halves. First is that, which the psychologists term as 'T– Personality'. This is a toxic personality.
Second is that, that the psychologists call N–Personality and this is energetic.

The poisonous T–Personality

This type of N– personality always keeps a negative mindset about everything. The attitude of
poisonous personality always tends veering round pessimism and dispirited. Being a perfectionist is

They decide the paradigms for scales of fame, policies and ethics becoming a judge. They try to be
the contractors of society. They have a big role in making world toxic.
These personalities roam everywhere. They could be anything– Teachers, Professors, Vice
Chancellors, Saints, Bishops and Pope. They want to become this so that they could condemn.
They are ready to sacrifice everything provided the get the pleasure of denouncing others. Such
types become overpowering very soon. Their outlook is their greatest weapon because they cold

rational. It is very difficult to defeat them in debates, but they can never be sound with rhyme and
reason. It is essential to know the difference between a reasonable man and a logical man. A
reasonable man is never just logical, because he knows from his experiences that relevance and
irrelevance are both two sides of life. There are logic and emotions, both in mind and heart.

The invigorating N–Personality

Another type of persona is N–Personality, a fortifying personality, which is quite different. They are

Types of Intelligence Essay examples
Types of Intelligence The meaning of intelligence is a concept that varies across cultures and
ideologies. According to psychologists "intelligence is the capacity to understand the world, think
rationally, and use resources effectively when faced with challenges." (Feldman, R. S. 2010). Due to
the different types of human capabilities, there are different types of human intelligence. Some
intelligence is expressed mentally as in existential, intrapersonal, and spatial intelligences. Existential
intelligence is the capacity and inclination to consider and question philosophically. People with this
type of intelligence are very comfortable with concepts like the meaning of life, the purpose of death,
and other realities. Intrapersonal...show more content...
Musical/Rhythmic intelligence is also physical intelligence. This form of intelligence is more than
being able to keep accurate rhythm or play an instrument. People with this type of intelligence think
in musical terms, they live musically; music is a part of their being. Naturalist Intelligence: the
ability to discriminate among living things (plants, animals) and sensitivity to other features of the
natural world (clouds, rock configurations) (Gardner H. n.d.). Although, this type of intelligence was
necessary for hunting and gathering civilizations; I believe that Jacque Cousteau had this type of
intelligence. The more familiar forms of intelligence are linguistic, interpersonal, and logical
/mathematical intelligence. Linguistic intelligence is necessary for authors, attorneys, and anyone
whose bread and butter is made through language. Interpersonal intelligence is defined as the ability
to understand other people. Yet, I find that empathy, and wisdom must be included for the
psychological definition of intelligence to exist, or instead of solutions, problems can be created. I
define wisdom as not just knowing what to do, but actually doing it. Logical or mathematical
intelligence is an innate ability to interact with mathematical and scientific principles. Practical
intelligence is needed for success in careers that involve corporations, the military, and other
structured environments. Practical

Categorizing Personality Types Essay
Outgoing and spontaneous, or level headed and reserved: these are ways in which people identify
the others surrounding them every day. These personality indicators may seem easy to distinguish;
however, at times, finding one's own personality type can be difficult. In the early 1900s, a Swedish
psychologist named Carl Jung introduced the idea of categorizing personalities into identifiable
types (Boeree). By investigating the subconscious, Jung was able to classify personality types that
have certain characteristics in common. This became known as typology (Boeree;

Also, extroverted people tend to act impulsively without thinking of consequences. An introverted
person will think about his or her actions before committing to them (Extroversion). After taking the
Myers–Briggs test, I discovered that I had an extroverted personality (Flynn). This is very
prevalent in my job, as well as school. While I benefit from some time to myself, I enjoy working
with groups of people. If I must choose between conducting a project on my own or with a group,
I will usually pick the group. I also have a job that requires working with large groups of children.
While some individuals may find such a large group overwhelming, I find it easy and
comfortable. Another indicator of my extroverted personality is my tendency to act on impulse.
Many times, I will enroll in classes before I take the time to see if I need them or will do well in
them. I also make choices without considering consequences. Last semester, I chose to skip class to
attend other events. While friends thought it made me a fun, flexible person, I ended up failing my
class due to absences. Being introverted and extroverted both have their positive and negative
qualities, but I typically benefit from my outgoing personality. The next set of traits is sensing and
intuitive. These types refer to the way a person interprets information (Basics). A person with a

of useful information, when in fact these people are mistaken. With televisions powerful
documentaries it encourages everyone to take an interest in something and to learn about a passion

Even soaps have a secret hidden agenda of teaching the viewer about topics some people are too

they aren't in a abusive relationship. Soaps also feature stories of transvestites, child abductions,
murders, child neglect etc. putting these on a television screen educates people about everyday
things that other people believe shouldn't be discussed.
Radio is another form of media, however it's less extreme. Radio generally reaches out to the

Types of Rocks
Types of Rocks
Geologists classify rocks in three groups, according to the major Earth processes that formed them.
The three rock groups are igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Anyone who wishes to
collect rocks should become familiar with the characteristics of these three rock groups. Knowing
how a geologist classifies rocks is important if you want to transform a random group of rock
specimens into a true collection.
Igneous rocks are formed from melted rock that has cooled and solidified. When rocks are buried
deep within the Earth, they melt because of the high pressure and temperature; the molten rock
(called magma) can then flow upward or even be erupted from a volcano onto the Earth's surface.
When magma cools slowly,...show more content...
Scuba divers who have seen mud and shells settling on the floors of lagoons find it easy to
understand how sedimentary rocks form.
Sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are subjected to pressures so intense or heat so high that
they are completely changed. They become metamorphic rocks, which form while deeply buried
within the Earth's crust. The process of metamorphism does not melt the rocks, but instead
transforms them into denser, more compact rocks. New minerals are created either by rearrangement
of mineral components or by reactions with fluids that enter the rocks. Some kinds of metamorphic
rocks––granite gneiss and biotite schist are two examples––are strongly banded or foliated. (Foliated
means the parallel arrangement of certain mineral grains that gives the rock a striped appearance.)
Pressure or temperature can even change previously metamorphosed rocks into new types.
Rock–forming and rock–destroying processes have been active for billions of years. Today, in the
Guadalupe Mountains of western Texas, one can stand on limestone, a sedimentary rock, that was a
coral reef in a tropical sea about 250 million years ago. In Vermont's Green Mountains one can see
schist, a metamorphic rock, that was once mud in a shallow sea. Half Dome in Yosemite Valley,
Calif., which now stands nearly 8,800 feet above sea level, is composed of quartz monzonite, an
igneous rock that solidified several thousand feet within the

Different types of Bullying Essay
More than 160,000 students miss school every day, due to fear of attack or intimidation by other
students, in other words getting bullied. Many of these students prefer to not say a thing. Ever
wondered what it feels like? Majority of people know this occurs everywhere but just ignore it; not
only that, some victims like to stay quiet due to fear. Based on case studies and statistics, there's
evidence to suggest that bullying can cause negative effects socially, emotionally, and physiologically
on children.

Kids get bullied in school a lot. Sometimes, they do not have the best clothes, or because they are
not economically the same as others. Some get bullied because they are not as social as other
kids and prefer to stay alone most of the time. Physical appearance meaning as in size, color, or
ethnicity can cause a kid to get bullied in school also. What do these kids go through? They get
pushed at in the hallways. They get named called in class with words such as "freak" or "lame".
Not only that, sometimes these kids aren't allowed to sit in certain areas in the lunch tables or they
would get teased at for just being there. The commonest type of bullying is general name calling,
followed by being hit, threatened, or having rumors spread about one. Bullying is thought to be

information. "Today, more and more companies are incorporating teams–of a variety of sizes and
types–into their workflows" (Miller, B.) There are so many different teams, but the following will
be discussed self–directed work teams, cross–functions teams, problem–solving teams, and virtual
teams. It is also important to be aware of the obstacles that exist while trying to construct an effective
team and the overcoming of the challenges that teams face.
There are differences between a workgroup and a work team. A group "is two or more interacting
and interdependent individuals who come together to achieve particular objectives." (Robbin,
DeCenzo, & Robert, 2013) In a workgroup, individuals, usually three or more, come together to
share information and make decisions to help each other achieve their organizational goal. For
example, "a small business may have a client services group, but one person may focus on local
clients, one person may focus on regional clients and a third person may assist those individuals.
Also, groups tend to be permanent fixtures with ongoing goals

The Four Types of Paragraphs
THE FOUR TYPES OF PARAGRAPHS (With Examples)
There are four types of paragraphs we write. They include: narrative, informative, descriptive, and
persuasive. All paragraphs have certain elements, but the four types are also different from one
another in how they are composed. Look at the outline about paragraphs in general.
All paragraphs:
1. It has a strong beginning, or introduction sentence, which states the main idea clearly.
2. It has several supporting sentences which make up the body, and support the main idea. All
sentences in the supporting details should back up, or point to, that main idea. The details should be
strong and vivid. The sentence structure and length should vary.
3. It has a strong concluding...show more content...
All that was left was the bathroom and my bedroom. I snuck into the bedroom, wielding the sharp
knife in terror, and bent over to look under the bed. No one was there. I silently released my
breath and turned toward the closet. I opened the closet carefully and switched on the light.
Again, no one was there. I had one place left to look: the bathroom. This was probably the hardest
place, because I had seen too many movies where someone was hiding in the shower. Nonetheless,
I crept into the tiny bathroom and flipped on the light switch. The navy blue shower curtain hung
there concealing whatever fate lay before me. I reached my hand out toward the curtain, paused a
moment, steeling myself and summoning the last of my courage, and committed myself to the
search. I grabbed the edge of the curtain and whipped it back in a flash, preparing myself to use
the knife on the fiend hiding in there. I trembled as the knife dropped out of my hand. No one
was there. Relief flooded me so strongly that I nearly crumpled to the floor. Later, after I had
called my boyfriend back, he remembered that he had gone by the apartment while I was gone and
dropped off a book I was reading. I had forgotten that he had a key. He had forgotten he'd been there
and closed the door. That was one wild homecoming!

I went to Vassar, where children's book writer Nancy Willard was on faculty. She introduced me to illustrator Barry Moser, and the interview he gave me was the centerpiece of my senior thesis. While I was there, I spent three years as a student assistant in Vassar's lab pre–school, and after graduation found work as an assistant teacher in a Montessori school, teaching 6–9 year olds. That year, I began to write a novel with my father – through the mail. I was in Chicago and he was in New York. We thought it would be a fun way to keep in touch. I wrote a chapter – then he wrote a chapter. We rewrote each other's chapters. And rewrote them again. It took a long time, but eventually that story was published as The Secret Life of Billie's Uncle Myron. Now I write full time (except when parenting) in a beautiful office in Brooklyn, accompanied by two plump and ancient cats –– the models for the dog characters in That New Animal. Initially, these two terms were considered to be completely irrelevant and sometimes even as a contraposition to each other. Along with the progress came the understanding that the connection does exist and even more than that – in some way these Get more content on HelpWriting.net

 • 3. Five Types Of Teaching Essay Teachers are mentors, heroes, and role models who inspire children to learn and expand their minds. A teacher and their skills as an educator determine how much their students will learn and the methods in which they are taught. Children learn best from teachers who use a variety of teaching tools to convey class material. There are different types of tools teachers can use that fit into five categories of teaching: active, innovative, creative, effective, and fun. These five types of teaching each include methods teachers can use to educated their students effectively and successfully. ![teach–1968076_1280.jpg](https://steemitimages.com /DQmWr6KEU8mnbUDqrKMAy6CKkSe1eQZaMT9sL2ynAmDNbGv/teach–1968076_1280.jpg) # Five Types of Teaching...show more content... I will get bored easily and feel like I'm wasting time if I don't have something to do. But I don't like to feel tied down. If I spontaneously decide I want to go do something else, I like to have that option. My grandmother on the other hand is the master of doing nothing on vacation. A few times a year she rents a beach house or condo on the water, then she spends the entire week inside, sitting on the couch reading books. I don't know why she insists that she be near the water, when she will never even step outside once to look at the water. But it's what she likes to do. And that's the whole point of vacation, getting some time that is just for you. Whether you enjoy beaches or mountains, whether you want to chill or go on an adventure, a vacation is a time for you to do what makes you happy. Based on lying being well defined, some might say that lying is always wrong unless there is a good reason for it. In that case, I would argue that lying is not always wrong. There are two different types of lies. The first types of lies are called true falsehoods. These types of lies are always wrong. The only purpose for telling this type of lie is for one's self interest or...show more content... For example: A young girl is driving to the beach with her new boyfriend, they are alone, when suddenly she feels very uncomfortable and unsafe being alone with this boy. She decides she wants to go back home, yet she knows that her boyfriend is going to be upset if she tells him the truth. So instead she decides to tell him that she remembered something she had promised her mom she would do for her before she got home from work. She knows later on, when she is in a more controlled environment, that she will tell this boy the truth because she knows he needs to know. Another simpler yet common example would be misrepresentations of the truth in responding to the question "How are you doing?" A person's answer would depend on the relationship that they have with that person. A relationship that is not close at all would most likely bring a response that would be short and on a positive note like, "everything is fine," even if it was not true. This response would be given to that person because it may not be appropriate or a good idea to let them know otherwise. Another example would be a police officer during a sting operation. Is it correct for her to pose as a prostitute in order to catch actual prostitutes? This would be considered a lie based on the fact that the officer is intentionally trying to come across as something other than she really is. It would be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
 • 11. Essay on Personality Types Our mind works like a computer and our way of thinking acts as its inputs. Our thoughts keep on gathering into it and slowly, they entrench deep down in solid states. We can divide personality in two halves. First is that, which the psychologists term as 'T– Personality'. This is a toxic personality. Second is that, that the psychologists call N–Personality and this is energetic.
The poisonous T–Personality
This type of N– personality always keeps a negative mindset about everything. A reasonable man is never just logical, because he knows from his experiences that relevance and irrelevance are both two sides of life. There are logic and emotions, both in mind and heart.
The invigorating N–Personality
Another type of persona is N–Personality, a fortifying personality, which is quite different. • 12. Types of Intelligence Essay examples Types of Intelligence The meaning of intelligence is a concept that varies across cultures and ideologies. According to psychologists "intelligence is the capacity to understand the world, think rationally, and use resources effectively when faced with challenges." (Feldman, R. S. 2010). Due to the different types of human capabilities, there are different types of human intelligence. Some intelligence is expressed mentally as in existential, intrapersonal, and spatial intelligences. Existential intelligence is the capacity and inclination to consider and question philosophically. People with this type of intelligence are very comfortable with concepts like the meaning of life, the purpose of death, and other realities. Intrapersonal...show more content... Musical/Rhythmic intelligence is also physical intelligence. This form of intelligence is more than being able to keep accurate rhythm or play an instrument. People with this type of intelligence think in musical terms, they live musically; music is a part of their being. Naturalist Intelligence: the ability to discriminate among living things (plants, animals) and sensitivity to other features of the natural world (clouds, rock configurations) (Gardner H. n.d.). Although, this type of intelligence was necessary for hunting and gathering civilizations; I believe that Jacque Cousteau had this type of intelligence. The more familiar forms of intelligence are linguistic, interpersonal, and logical /mathematical intelligence. Linguistic intelligence is necessary for authors, attorneys, and anyone whose bread and butter is made through language. Interpersonal intelligence is defined as the ability to understand other people. Yet, I find that empathy, and wisdom must be included for the psychological definition of intelligence to exist, or instead of solutions, problems can be created. I define wisdom as not just knowing what to do, but actually doing it. Logical or mathematical intelligence is an innate ability to interact with mathematical and scientific principles. Practical intelligence is needed for success in careers that involve corporations, the military, and other structured environments. Practical Get more content on HelpWriting.net
 • 13. Categorizing Personality Types Essay Outgoing and spontaneous, or level headed and reserved: these are ways in which people identify the others surrounding them every day. These personality indicators may seem easy to distinguish; however, at times, finding one's own personality type can be difficult. In the early 1900s, a Swedish psychologist named Carl Jung introduced the idea of categorizing personalities into identifiable types (Boeree). By investigating the subconscious, Jung was able to classify personality types that have certain characteristics in common. This became known as typology (Boeree; TheFreeDictionary.com). Several years later, Katherine Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs–Myers, took Jung's typology to the next level. Together they separated...show more content... Also, extroverted people tend to act impulsively without thinking of consequences. An introverted person will think about his or her actions before committing to them (Extroversion). After taking the Myers–Briggs test, I discovered that I had an extroverted personality (Flynn). This is very prevalent in my job, as well as school. While I benefit from some time to myself, I enjoy working with groups of people. If I must choose between conducting a project on my own or with a group, I will usually pick the group. I also have a job that requires working with large groups of children. While some individuals may find such a large group overwhelming, I find it easy and comfortable. Another indicator of my extroverted personality is my tendency to act on impulse. Many times, I will enroll in classes before I take the time to see if I need them or will do well in them. I also make choices without considering consequences. Last semester, I chose to skip class to attend other events. While friends thought it made me a fun, flexible person, I ended up failing my class due to absences. Being introverted and extroverted both have their positive and negative qualities, but I typically benefit from my outgoing personality. The next set of traits is sensing and intuitive. These types refer to the way a person interprets information (Basics). A person with a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

There is an enormous variety of media including; television, newspapers, radio, magazines, advertisements etc. It seems that the more developed that society gets, the harder it becomes to escape media. One of the most common forms of media is advertisements. Advertisements are not only one of the most common forms of media but also one of the most over–exposed types of media there is. With televisions powerful documentaries it encourages everyone to take an interest in something and to learn about a passion or maybe teach them how to carry out a dream. Television actually develops and nurtures the mind. Even soaps have a secret hidden agenda of teaching the viewer about topics some people are too scared to talk about or confront. For example a recent storyline in Coronation Street about an emotional violent relationship shows that just because someone doesn't show bruises doesn't mean they aren't in a abusive relationship. Soaps also feature stories of transvestites, child abductions, murders, child neglect etc. putting these on a television screen educates people about everyday things that other people believe shouldn't be discussed. Everyone got along smoothly and there were no disagreements, only proposals of ideas that could improve a concept. Due to this, I feel we were able to do our best as a group. Our team also was somewhat diverse. The Super Spiders seemed to be composed of those who are white, of Latina descendent, and African American. We consisted of four females and a single male. • 16. Types of Rocks Types of Rocks Geologists classify rocks in three groups, according to the major Earth processes that formed them. The three rock groups are igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Anyone who wishes to collect rocks should become familiar with the characteristics of these three rock groups. Knowing how a geologist classifies rocks is important if you want to transform a random group of rock specimens into a true collection. Igneous rocks are formed from melted rock that has cooled and solidified. When rocks are buried deep within the Earth, they melt because of the high pressure and temperature; the molten rock (called magma) can then flow upward or even be erupted from a volcano onto the Earth's surface. When magma cools slowly,...show more content... Scuba divers who have seen mud and shells settling on the floors of lagoons find it easy to understand how sedimentary rocks form. Sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are subjected to pressures so intense or heat so high that they are completely changed. They become metamorphic rocks, which form while deeply buried within the Earth's crust. The process of metamorphism does not melt the rocks, but instead transforms them into denser, more compact rocks. New minerals are created either by rearrangement of mineral components or by reactions with fluids that enter the rocks. Some kinds of metamorphic rocks––granite gneiss and biotite schist are two examples––are strongly banded or foliated. (Foliated means the parallel arrangement of certain mineral grains that gives the rock a striped appearance.) Pressure or temperature can even change previously metamorphosed rocks into new types. Rock–forming and rock–destroying processes have been active for billions of years. Today, in the Guadalupe Mountains of western Texas, one can stand on limestone, a sedimentary rock, that was a coral reef in a tropical sea about 250 million years ago. In Vermont's Green Mountains one can see schist, a metamorphic rock, that was once mud in a shallow sea. (Robbin, DeCenzo, & Robert, 2013) An organization can be made of workgroups and work teams. While in a work team, members help create and gather information, accomplish different tasks, and meet common goals; whereas work groups interact to share information. "Today, more and more companies are incorporating teams–of a variety of sizes and types–into their workflows" (Miller, B.) There are so many different teams, but the following will be discussed self–directed work teams, cross–functions teams, problem–solving teams, and virtual teams. It is also important to be aware of the obstacles that exist while trying to construct an effective team and the overcoming of the challenges that teams face. There are differences between a workgroup and a work team. A group "is two or more interacting and interdependent individuals who come together to achieve particular objectives." (Robbin, DeCenzo, & Robert, 2013) In a workgroup, individuals, usually three or more, come together to share information and make decisions to help each other achieve their organizational goal. For example, "a small business may have a client services group, but one person may focus on local clients, one person may focus on regional clients and a third person may assist those individuals. No one was there. I silently released my breath and turned toward the closet. I opened the closet carefully and switched on the light. Again, no one was there. I had one place left to look: the bathroom. This was probably the hardest place, because I had seen too many movies where someone was hiding in the shower. Nonetheless, I crept into the tiny bathroom and flipped on the light switch. The navy blue shower curtain hung there concealing whatever fate lay before me. I reached my hand out toward the curtain, paused a moment, steeling myself and summoning the last of my courage, and committed myself to the search. I grabbed the edge of the curtain and whipped it back in a flash, preparing myself to use the knife on the fiend hiding in there. I trembled as the knife dropped out of my hand. No one was there. Relief flooded me so strongly that I nearly crumpled to the floor. Later, after I had called my boyfriend back, he remembered that he had gone by the apartment while I was gone and dropped off a book I was reading. I had forgotten that he had a key.
