seeking information. People discovered that the Internet could be used to connect with other people,
whether for business or commercial purpose, make new friends, reawaken old friends and long lost
relatives. The emergence of social networking sites (SNSs) simplify the whole process as majority
of them are free to use, they are easier to use and navigate, because it does not require advanced
knowledge and experience of the internet and are made up of a wide array of different formats and

The profile is generated using the answers to these questions, which typically include descriptors
such as age, location, interests, and an "about me" section. Most sites also encourage users to upload
a profile photo. Some sites allow users to enhance their profiles by adding multimedia content or
modifying their profile 's look and feel. Others, such as Facebook, allow users to add modules
("Applications") that enhance their profile. The visibility of a profile varies by site and according to
user discretion. By default, profiles on Friendster and Tribe.net are crawled by search engines,
making them visible to anyone, regardless of whether or not the viewer has an account.
Alternatively, LinkedIn controls what a viewer may see based on whether she or he has a paid
account. Sites like MySpace allow users to choose whether they want their profile to be public or
"Friends only." Facebook takes a different approach–by default, users who are part of the same
"network" can view each other 's profiles, unless a profile owner has decided to deny permission to
those in their network. Structural variations around visibility and access are one of the primary ways
that SNSs differentiate themselves from each other. (Boyd, 2006) After joining a social network site,
users are prompted to identify others in the system with whom they have a relationship. The label

and "Fans."

Social networking is the process of communicating and sharing information with others within
online services based on cloud computing technologies. Nowadays, there are more than 200 social
networks [8], not including social networks, which created internally by organizations to serve their
employees, students, scientists, or members.
Nowadays, people has the opportunity to communicate and sharing information through various
applications and services: social networking sites(SNS), wikis, blogs and microblogging services,
News boards, rating platforms, newsfeeds, video platforms. These services and platforms go far
beyond the old text–based web pages. As it offers a variety of opportunities for people [9].
In addition, participating in these networks requires two steps. The first one is to sign up for your
own account. The second step is to create your profile and fill it with your personal information,
interests, hobbies, work history, and educational background. This will help you find people with
common experiences or histories.

Sites like Facebook, Orkut, Myspace and LinkedIn account for seven of top twenty most visited
websites in the world. For many users especially the fully wired net generation online social

Bullying on the Internet
Trisha Prabhu said, "Rethink before you type." at the Ted Teen stage (TEDxTeen). Do you know
who she is, and why she told us that we need to reconsider what we are going to do before posting
on Social Network Service? First, she is a 14–year–old girl who looked at the girls' news that they
committed suicide due to mental anguish on SNS, and thought about the way to help people who
want to die because of cyberbullying. After she heard about the news, which had influenced her, she
created a computer software which allows people to rethink before the posting completely has done.
According to her study, 93% of young people have quit writing brutal things on the Internet. Her
study proved that we can change people's mind, and prevent people who are bullied from
committing suicide. As you know we live only once so we should take care of one another and save
people who are wanting to die. Basically, there are several events which lead people to suicide, yet
we also have some possibilities to help people who are oppressed before they decide to take their
own lives.
To begin with developed technology, due to increase the rate of using high–technology things such
as iPhone, iPad and laptop computer, the tyrannizing is getting more serious than in the past. 20
years ago, people did not have cell phones, so the tormenting was not that much harder. For

Analyse the benefits and disadvantages of using social media to market to the various different
stakeholder groups "Social media tools are disruptive technologies that have radically altered the
way people view and use communication. This transformation is occurring in many ways and in
many places that influence lifestyle and social interaction." (Grover and Stewart, 2010, p.7). Grover
and Stewart (2010) express that social media is a technology that has changed the way people
interact and communicate in our day–to–day lives. Looking at Grover and Stewarts theory, it

that social networks are built with proper security and privacy. An American journalist Farhad
Manjoo, in his article "It's Not All Facebook's Fault," mentions that Facebook failed to keep user

This paper addresses LinkedIn Corporation. This article explains how Linked in business model
works. It describes the form of business LinkedIn is, services it provides, its market position, how
the business operates, channels of distribution, the company's management and present and future
company's sources and uses of funds.

LinkedIn Corporation is the company to study. LinkedIn Corporation operates as a corporation,
owned by shareholders. It was founded in 2003 by Reid Hoffman and four others in Mountain View
California. The company provides a web–based site for career management as well as professional
