Find your school's Voice: Facebook BootcampedSocialMedia
Knowing how to leverage your Facebook page is only half the battle. Staying up with the persistent changes is becoming exponentially harder as Facebook continues to innovate. For Facebook administrators, it’s one more place to displace your time, and it’s hard to keep up. But no matter what the statistics, your school must be creating compelling content to get your constituents to see the content, and generate an engaging conversation to increase your interaction rate (which will, in turn, get your story into the news feed of your constituents). So how does your school swing it? Several attendees joined edSocialMedia on Oct. 13 at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart for a Facebook Bootcamp experience to learn the tricks of the trade.

Package an article for use on Facebook.
Consider how you can make it relevant to the
members of your chapter.
Use actual details of your chapter’s CSEW
plans where possible.
Are there opportunities for images/graphics?
What ways can you encourage two-way
communication?
How many of you use Facebook? How many of you have a Chapter Facebook page?
There are more members CSEA members on Facebook. This is the best social network platform you can use to communicate with your members.
Keep it brief and to the point. Think about how you would explain something to somebody while on an elevator for a couple floors.
Link people to your chapter website or the CSEA site, where they can potentially consume more of your information.
Keep it positive. Even if it’s bad news, try to position it neutrally. People hear enough bad news on traditional media. People are less likely to read something if they perceive it as negative.
End with an ask: Request that your members share on their pages, or ask a question that they can answer in the comments section. Engagement is the key.
Let’s talk about best practices for creating a chapter page.
