The upper middle class refers to the higherstatus members of the middle class. It
mainly consists of well-educated
professionals with graduate degrees and
comfortable incomes. Children of this group
are typically educated at prep and public
schools.

The middle class is the class associated
with those in the middle of a societal
hierarchy. People within this class usually
hold qualifications, including
academics, lawyers, chartered
engineers, politicians and
doctors, signifiers including
accent, manners, place of
education, occupation and friends. A
tertiary education is achieved.
5. C1
The lower middle class is usually consists
of semi-professionals and craftsmen with
a roughly average standard of living.
Most have a college education and are
white-collar. Their income usually ranges
from £21,000 to £50,000.
6. C2
The skilled working is usually defined by
their employment in lower
tier, subordinate jobs. This typically
includes blue collar jobs and white collar
jobs but also service work. It usually
doesn’t own its own means of independent
income. It generally includes all of those
possessing a lower than average income.
7. D
Similarly to the skilled working class, the
working class has a lower income and
typically no graduate degree. This typically
includes blue collar jobs and white collar jobs
but also service work. It usually doesn’t own
its own means of independent income.
8. E
The non-working usually consists of the
casual or lowest grade
workers, pensioners, and others who
depend on the welfare state for their
income, this also includes students.
9. This is the most modern social class classification with more divisions for more
accurate results.
