This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Karydakis technique for treating sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus disease based on a retrospective analysis of 333 patients over ten years. The results indicate a 93.1% utilization rate of the Karydakis procedure, with a postoperative complication rate of 24.6% and a recurrence rate of 4.5%, suggesting it is a reliable and straightforward method for managing this condition. The findings highlight the ongoing relevance of this traditional surgical approach amidst the exploration of more modern techniques.
