TARGET LEARNERS
• Since I am going to school for Early Childhood Education and I plan to
teach either Kindergarten or 1st grade, I will be using this presentation to
target Kindergarten or 1st graders.

• This lesson is all about the life of a plant! It is extremely interactive,
interesting, and informative!
HOW I WOULD USE
THIS RESOURCE
• SMART Boards are amazing. I remember
using them a few different times when I was
in high school, but they were still fairly new. I
am so excited that I may get the opportunity
to use these devices when I am a teacher.
• This specific lesson that I found is very
interactive, so I would let the students take
turns doing the activities that are provided in
the lesson.
• There is an activity where the student clicks
on the picture next to the word (ex. seed,
then a picture of a seed pops up when
clicked on), and another activity where there
is a word bank (seed, flower, root, and leaf)
and then a picture of a plant and the student
has to move the words onto the plant! It’s
very neat and it is a useful, easy tool to use in
my classroom for my Kindergarten or 1st
graders.
HOW THIS LESSON WOULD SUPPORT
UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR LEARNING
• I am absolutely blown away by all of the different SMART
Board lessons that are out there now! I honestly had no
idea. But, basically all SMART Board lessons are
interactive which gets the students out of their seats and
has them physically participate in what is going on during
the class.
• My specific lesson does this as well! This lesson supports
UDL because it has multiple different learning and
teaching styles included in this one short lesson. There is
visual, audio, and physical touching of the lesson and
activities.
• Also, there are multiple different activities so the students
can have a try at all the different ones and learn to their
best ability!
