SMART SCHOOL
Definition: Smart school is a learning institution
that has been systemically integrated with ICT in
terms of teaching-learning practices and school
management in order to prepare children for the
Information Age. (Malaysia Gov., 1997).
Malaysia has developed a successful road map for
development of smart school system.
Encourages an active thinking process. This
system must encourage students use
personal computers (PCs), the Internet and
intranets as research and communication tools.

AND TEACHING MATERIALS

AND COURSEWARE WAS FOUND TO BE UNDER-
UTILIZED
Some teachers are not keen on using the courseware
The design of the courseware does not accommodate for
students’ with differing needs and learning abilities.
Courseware lacks proper guidelines to use.
Software used in school is causing many problems.
(3) LACK OF DEMOCATIZATION
IN EDUCATION
Students have no choice in their education.
Student don’t have enough time to manage themselves.
(4) LACK OF TRAINING
Some teachers cannot teach effectively
Experienced teachers lack of ICT knowledge.
(5) NEGATIVE ATTITUDE OF TEACHERS
Experienced teachers lack of ICT knowledge.
(6) TIME CONSTRAINT
Students felt that learning using computer is very
time consuming
Teachers have to prepare earlier if they want to use
the computer lab for teaching and it will disturb the
process of teaching and learning.
