(1) Smart School is a learning institution that has been reformed to prepare students for the Information Age through innovative teaching practices and school management integrated with information and communication technology (ICT). (2) Teachers in Smart Schools receive ICT training on software, programming languages, and integrating technology into their lessons. (3) The Malaysian government allocated RM1 billion to provide laptops to students through the Universal Service Provision fund in order to reduce the digital divide and contribute to social and economic development.
