Wellness Choices:My smart goal Presented by:Kristin Nason
My SMART GoalS(specific): I would like to lose a little weight (5-10 lbs), and tone my muscles by using the gym in the HUB at least 5 days a week. M(measurable) : Keeping a log of work outs, what I  did at the gym, and for how long, as well as what I am eating and drinking everyday.A(attainable) : My roommate and I  go to the gym together, which makes both of us push eachother to work harder.R(realistic) : I go to the gym now, just not as often as I  would like, I know that I have enough motivation to do this by making it a goal. T(timely) : I think that in 8 weeks I can be tone and be happy with the amount of weight lost as long as I go 5 days a week to the gym and keep track of what I am doing in a log.
My goalThe reason I chose this goal was because I am a very athletic person. Since I stopped playing sports I have gained weight. Although my BMI is at normal, I still wanted to lose weight. The steps I took to achieve this goal were:Going to the gymKeeping a log of gym time, exercises, and a daily log of food and drink intake.Eating healthierDrinking more water
Log bookThis is a table of exercises I would complete at the gym.Although every day was a little different my schedule continued like this until early October. Increasing my cardio and crunches.
Increase in goal per week
processI went to the gym daily, at the same time, trying to increase my level each day.Listened to music, it gave me motivation every time.Watched what I ate more closely.Balancing school work and gym time is not easy, I became tired, and eventually did not go to the gym as much as I had planned.
resultsIn the beginning of October I got a job at Old Navy in Tilton. I began working about 30 hours a week, and balancing school at the same time. Unfortunately I became exhausted, slowly my logs lost their way. Eventually I stopped going to the gym. However, now that I have been working for almost 2 months I am starting to get the hang of things. I have just started back at the gym.
resultsAt one point I had lost some weight, about 3 lbs. I was extremely happy, but I became way too busy. I was and still am disappointed at my self for not being able to achieve my goal.I think the most important thing is that I have picked up going to the gym again. I enjoy the gym, something about it makes me feeling happy when I am done.
