Dee Smith created a S.M.A.R.T. goal to work out 5 days a week focusing on all body muscles for one month. To achieve this, she worked out with a roommate at the gym following a prepared routine on the same days and times each week. She tracked her progress on a calendar with stars for each day worked out. After one month, she had completed her goal of working out 5 days a week, though she did not notice weight or body changes, but felt better exercising which became easier over time.
GYM LIFE.. EXERCISE AND HEALTHY.. MERITS AND DEMERITS OF GYMsaid masoud
GYM IS THE PLACE WHERE YOU CAN EXERCISE AND MAKE YOUR HEALTH BODY IN A BETTER PLACE.. AND IT MAKES YOU FIT AND RELAXED WHEN YOU ARE DOING EXERCISE... ITS BEST FOR OUR HEALTH
2. My Goal Specific: I would like to work out 5 days a week and focus on all muscles of the body. Measurable: I will make a journal of what I do. I can also see the days that I skip and really try to push myself to not miss any more days than I am allowed. Attainable: I will make the time that I need to work out and go with a friend, that way I am more likely to go. Realistic: I enjoy working out, I would just like to be more consistent with my workout. Therefore I believe I can do this. Timely: I would like to reach this goal one month from today and hopefully at that point it will be part of my routine that I feel comfortable to continue going and will still be keeping my journal.
4. Process To achieve my goal I had a partner. My roommate and I would go to the gym together and it was a great motivational tool. I also would prepare a different workout for us the night before we would go. We fell into a routine, we always went on the same days at the same time. If something came up or held me back I would make sure to go another time or on the day that I would have off, I still did this even if my roommate could not come with me. I made a calendar and gave myself a star for everyday that I went to the gym. That is what you see in the previous slide. I could see my progress and if I was slacking I could see it on paper.
5. Results As you can see from the calendar I did go to the gym 5 days a week, so I did complete my goal. I did not notice any changes in my body or weight but I do feel better all around about exercising, it became much easier for me to move as time went on. I think the reason for that is because I am working on toning and building muscle, so even though I am losing the body fat I am building muscle. At the beginning I was sore almost every day but now I don’t get sore at all. I feel really good about my goal and I am going to continue going to the gym as often as I can, even after school ends.
Editor's Notes
The Stars represent each day that I went to the gym. The days that have double stars show the days that I worked out twice. Every Tues/Thurs I had resistance Training so I considered that working out and in the morning on those days I would also go to the gym with a work out that I had put together for my roommate and I. I only showed March because of the “limit” on slides.
