This document discusses why managers should take on a coaching role. It provides tips for managers to build a coaching culture, including believing in their team, managing conflict, being employee-focused, and building the team. Effective coaching requires commitment to scrimmaging, recognition, developing presentation skills, logical thinking, and learning. However, some respondents reported that their local committees prioritized organizational goals over personal growth. Suggested improvements included providing clearer career guidance, more diverse tasks, leadership training, and external coaching. Overall, AIESEC was seen as offering valuable skills development, but its messaging could better emphasize the personal value for members.

1. Leadership plays a key role in fostering innovation through challenging current perspectives, creating freedom for employees to experiment, and inspiring curiosity.
2. Effective leadership development requires moving beyond isolated events to an ongoing journey through a blend of formal training, coaching, on-the-job experiences, and informal learning.
3. Identifying high-potential leaders requires considering a variety of factors beyond just performance, such as leadership promise, adaptability, and learning agility.
4. To enhance business and people outcomes, organizations must revolutionize outdated management cultures by making processes more adaptive, spreading decision-making, and prioritizing innovation and growth over rigid hierarchies.

Presentation alone leads to 5% skill transfer, while adding modeling and demonstration increases skill transfer to 10%. Practice increases it to 20%, developmental feedback to 25%, and coaching and mentoring provides the biggest boost to 90% skill transfer when used together with the other experience types. The key finding is that each experience type is necessary but insufficient on its own, and combining all the experience types leads to the greatest skill transfer for educators.
Most sessions at the Alumni Relations Conference received high ratings of 6 or 7 on a 7-point scale, and all respondents said they would recommend the conference to other schools. Feedback analysis showed that sessions on panel discussions, fundraising from alumni, knowledge management, and the power of alumni engagement received the highest ratings, while the alumni office essentials session was rated highest overall with 60% of respondents giving it a 7. Audits found that while most alumni associations have clearly defined roles, over 70% of alumni are not currently supporting their colleges in a planned or organized way, and around two-thirds of institutions need support in designing alumni giving campaigns and setting up alumni affairs offices.
This survey of 151 AIESEC members found:
- Personal development was the most commonly cited benefit of membership.
- Average ratings for experience elements ranged from 6.83 to 8.25.
- Reasons for lower ratings included lack of clear expectations, coaching/mentoring, and connection to studies.
- Conclusions indicated need for improved training systems, appreciation culture, and emphasis on personal value of the experience.
