10. Mr. & Mrs. Paulson hired Gabriel Meyer and Philip Holler as architects to design their house. Does anyone know of other famous Los Angeles buildings designed by Meyer & Holler?
14. Mr. Paulson chose the architects’ stately English Tudor Style for the house.
15. Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Lockhart bought the house in 1928, and made a number of significant changes. The attic was converted into a play-room for their two young children.
16. Mr. Lockhart added the room you’re sitting in right now. In addition to the game room, he installed a bar and a vault.
17. Since the house was already built, and there was no way to dig without disturbing it, workmen had to excavate this underground room by removing the dirt one bucket-full at a time!

25. Getty House was donated to the City of Los Angeles in 1975 as the Official Residence of the Mayor of Los Angeles. The Hon. Thomas J. “Tom” Bradley, Mayor of Los Angeles {1973-1993}, moved into Getty House in 1977, and lived here for three of his four historic terms of office.

42. L.A. became a part of Mexico in 1821, following its independence from Spain.
