BUS RAPID TRANSIT(BRT)
 On 9th June, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched the
first of such service, located in Subang Jaya.
 The pilot BRT will allow the 500,000 residents in Bandar Sunway and
Subang to connect more easily to existing light-rail transit (LRT)
systems
 The higher learning institutions there i.e Monash University, Sunway
University and Taylor’s University
 The project is being built under a public-private partnership (PPP)
between the Government-owned Syarikat Prasarana Negara
Berhad and Sunway Berhad with an estimated cost of RM300 million
 Project start second quarter of 2013 and is expected to be completed by
2014.

<> The first BRT system in the world was
the Rede Integrada de Transporte which is also
known as Integrated Transportation Network
implemented in Curitiba, Brazil in 1974.

city of Jakarta, and it has been implemented at

ADVANTAGES
 Residents groups of PJS9 asked that the elevated
pedestrian walkway proposed for Halt 3 along Jalan
Lagoon Timur be scrapped as the 300m long walkway
connecting PJS7 to the station would invade the privacy
of homes and pose a security issue in the area.
 If there any parking for private vehicles around the
stations along the BRT line.
 Sunway residents asked for MRT or LRT but why
government propose for BRT project.
 BRT buses will have their own lane, thus motorist lane
will still be crowded because the road width will be
decrease.
 Why this BRT line only focus on area of Sunway City
and its surrounding.
FEEDBACK
 BRT line is one of the solution by government
to reduce the congested of traffic in this city
under thecalled National Key Result Area
(NKRA) to improve public transport system in
our country
 resident in Sunway City shows some positive
responds toward this new implementation of
public transport
 Rapid development in Sunway City is one of
the factor that cause the needed of BRT system
in this city
