What sleep is to me
 To me sleep is when your body needs to rest at the
end of an active day. Sleep is very important to me
because I need energy to go to college the next
day and work. Plus if you don’t sleep it can affect
the way you think. This happens because your body
will feel very tired and you will be unable to do
things to your best of capabilities.
Importance of sleep
 Sleep plays an important role in your physical health
too. For example, sleep is involved in the healing
and repair of your heart and blood vessels. In
addition to this if you don’t sleep it can lead to an
increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high
blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke. Sleep plays a
vital role in good health and well-being throughout
your life. Getting enough quality sleep at the right
times can help protect your mental health, physical
health, quality of life, and safety.
 When I think of sleep it makes me feel safe and
secure because I am resting for my next day
Insomnia
 Insomnia is the inability to get the amount of sleep
you need to wake up feeling rested and refreshed.
Because different people need different amounts of
sleep, insomnia is defined by how you feel after
sleeping—not the number of hours you sleep or how
quickly you doze off. Even if you’re spending eight
hours a night in bed, if you feel drowsy and fatigued
during the day, you may be experiencing insomnia.
Control of sleep
 Sleep is largely controlled by sleep pressure, and the
circadian rhythm, or our body clock, which is a 24
hour cycle that regulates all our biological and
physiological processes. It anticipates
environmental changes around us so that our
bodies can adapt to them.
Target audience for my poster
 My target audience that my sleep poster will be aimed
towards are from age groups between 14 and 19. The reason
for this is because many of the youth do not know about the
huge importance and I want to spread the word to them. As
you know teenagers these days are all hooked to video
games and social media, they stay up for hours and hours just
playing or texting their friends even on days when they have
school/college the nest day. I want to put an end to this
unhealthy habit and by doing so I aiming to spread the word
of the importance of sleep to these particular age groups and
I hope they will take on board what my poster is telling them.
In addition to this I as a teenage know what it’s like to not want
to go to sleep and choose play one more game or send one
more text however if you just think to yourself is it really that
important and can I just wait for the next day. And the answer
is yes because you have all the time in the world but health
comes first!

  • 6. Target audience for my poster  My target audience that my sleep poster will be aimed towards are from age groups between 14 and 19. The reason for this is because many of the youth do not know about the huge importance and I want to spread the word to them. As you know teenagers these days are all hooked to video games and social media, they stay up for hours and hours just playing or texting their friends even on days when they have school/college the nest day. I want to put an end to this unhealthy habit and by doing so I aiming to spread the word of the importance of sleep to these particular age groups and I hope they will take on board what my poster is telling them. In addition to this I as a teenage know what it’s like to not want to go to sleep and choose play one more game or send one more text however if you just think to yourself is it really that important and can I just wait for the next day. And the answer is yes because you have all the time in the world but health comes first!
