Here’s a quick run through on
editing the Site Map in 2011 to
get you started on the new
process…

3. Go to Setting Click on Solutions

4. Create a new Solution called Sitemap

5. Save and Goto Add Existing Select Sitemap

6. Click on Export Solution Button

7. Click on Publish All Customizations

8. Click On Next Button

9. Click On Next Button

10. In Package Type Click on Unmanaged Solution

11. Click On Next Button

12. Select Target Solution to 6.1 or 6.0 version

13. And Export the Sitemap Solution

14. Open sitemap Solution click On
Customization.xml With Notepad or Visual
Studio 2010

15. See the Code of Customization .xml code

16. Paste the following new Area definition above the
Workplace Area and then Save your changes

25. Copy the Code and Paste Here

26. Select the 3 unzipped solution files and
zip them up. I like to follow the naming
convention and version numbering that
CRM used at export. Here’s an easy
way to do this:
Select the 3 files
Right-click
From the WinZip menu select: “Add to
SiteMap_1_0_0_0.zip”

28. WARNING: Make sure the structure of your zip file matches the format
CRM exports solutions in – i.e. no additional folder layers

29. Import the Solution, Publish, refresh your browser

30. Done!. You should now have a
new Menu area labelled “Gareth’s
Menu”

31. After Importing the Solution Publish the Sitemap and
Refresh the Crm Portal
