Innovation and modernization in teaching learning methodologies, by devising
student friendly and student centered paradigms
Modification in examinations and evaluation practices
Skill based learning through career oriented inputs and participation
Regularly updating the pedagogical skills of the teachers and administrators
by conducting in-service training programs
3. ACADEMIC ETHOS
BALANCED DEVELOPMENT OF THE MIND,
BODY AND SOUL
The school is designed to function on an ethos which works towards the
balanced development of body, mind and soul clearly distinguishing it from the
rest. The students will be provided a rigorous, stimulating and enjoyable
education, cultivating their capacity to think, learn, understand, and reflect, both
on the world around them and their responsibilities within. It will also develop
and maintain their physical fitness, resilience, and self-reliance, enhancing
confidence and well-being.
4. CURRICULUM
ACTIVE LEARNING FOR ALL-ROUND GROWTH
The school follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pattern
of education which brings out the best in the students. The holistic curriculum
will encourage students to be active learners who explore, understand and
participate in the world around them. By exposing students to a wide variety of
disciplines, finesse will be added to both cognitive and non-cognitive skills, so
as to prepare them for a well-balanced life outside school.
5. LEARNING RESOURCES
GAINING EDUCATION, ENHANCING LIFE
SKILLS
Equally important to learning and living in a complex world, are the skills
gained through the process of inquiry, discovery, application, and creativity. As
a learning community, the school provides an invigorating platform for the
students to interact with staff, junior and senior students, the administration
and society at large.
6. GOING BEYOND CLASSROOM AND THE
CURRICULUM
At SAI International Residential School, the only feat difficult to achieve is
finding time to be bored, as the education offered is beyond the confines of the
classrooms. In today’s increasingly urban and media-driven world, the school’s
ability to offer an extraordinary array of activities is what makes an education
here like no other, offering a wide variety of challenging tasks and project
based activities in music, drama, visual arts, design technology, spirituality,
leadership, physical education and global education, within the classroom and
beyond.
7. TUTORIAL SESSIONS
ENCOURAGING INCLUSION
In response to diverse abilities, interests, attitudes, and goals, student support
services provide an inclusive educational environment for each and every child,
addressing the individual academic, social, emotional, health and behavioral
development and needs. Support is provided across all grade levels in a
variety of ways. It is largely a student-directed initiative; peer tutoring is made
available as and when required.
8. CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING
OPENING A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES
Students need to develop and effectively apply critical thinking skills to their
academic studies, to enable them to face the complex problems or make
critical choices that they may come across, as a result of the information
explosion and other rapid technological changes. SIRS encourages students to
become critical thinkers, frame and ask meaningful questions and arrive at the
right answers, a skill essential to strengthen their knowledge base. ‘Every field
stays alive only to the extent that fresh questions are generated and
taken seriously’.
9. CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION
PRESENTING INFINITE POSSIBILITIES
The five essential creative and imaginative abilities include questioning and
challenging, making connections and seeing relationships, envisaging what
might be, exploring ideas and keeping options open, and reflecting critically on
ideas, actions and outcomes.
• Reviewing progress
• Inviting and incorporating feedback
• Making perceptive observations about originality and value
• Asking is this good; is this what is needed?
• Putting forward constructive comments, ideas, explanations and methods of
doing things
10. CUSTOMIZED COURSES
WIDENING THE KNOWLEDGE BASE
SAI has introduced SAI Samskara and SAI Global Studies as specialized
courses to provide an all round knowledge base for the students. Teachers are
trained to focus on specific student needs and get actively involved in their day-
to-day activities. SIRS considers the family members of students a part of the
learning team and an integral part of the learning process, therefore regular
interaction with parents on a weekly basis through formal meetings, phone
calls, and emails are conducted.
11. PROGRAMS IN THE PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE
GOING BEYOND ACADEMICS
Within the school, students are involved in planning, organizing and
implementing a number of tasks, with adequate handholding by mentors, as
and when required. Thus, a plethora of activities such as taking care of
younger students, planning and conducting the school assemblies, organizing
annual functions and sports day, celebrations, working with teachers for
various productions offer an opportunity for children to learn beyond the realm
of academics. The Pursuit of Excellence Program is designed to support
students in their chosen field or arena, enabling them to pursue extra-curricular
activities outside the school.
