Neighborhood Theories
Theories on Neighborhoods Defining a neighborhood, is a built community or unit that surrounds a
person, place, or object. Neighborhoods can be categorized into three subjects; upper class, middle
class, underclass. With this noted, one theory about neighborhoods is its relations with race and
income. As Reynold Farley discussed, ...the moves people make and assess the extent to which
neighborhood racial composition, independent of a variety of other individual and neighborhood
characteristics, leads people to make housing decisions that, taken together, contribute to persistent
patterns of segregation. Continuing this theorem, the cause and effect of these categories will cause
social inequality, discrimination, and lastly social deprivation. ... Show more content on

Abstract
This paper analyses the human activities that lead towards global climatic changes. It establishes the
thought that human behavior and activities that are the major cause of global climatic changes,
therefore, human beings shall alter their lifestyles in order to put a stop at the global climatic changes.
Global Climatic Changes
Introduction
Global climatic change can be defined as a long term shift in the overall and average climatic
conditions. It is quite evident from various statistics that there has been a significant change in the
global climate. The end of the 20th and the 21st century have witnessed some of the warmest periods
of the globe. The temperature recorded during this period was reported to be highest when compared
with the instrumental temperature records. The evident shifts in the Global climate started in the mid
of the 19th century and after that the global climate kept on getting worse with the passage of time.
(Unknown, 2007)
Human behavior and activities trigger climatic changes in a significant manner. These activities cause
the climate of the globe to change by altering the energy balance of the earth. The major threat to the
global climate is the burning of fossil fuels. These fuels, when burnt, produce Carbon dioxide and
other green house gases and aerosols which are great threats to the atmosphere. These gases alter the
solar radiations,

The Battle Plan For The Marine Artillery Batteries
Brigadier General Lane returned to his own Command Post, called his staff in and prepared the battle
plan. They had already been probing the lines to their west and had a very good idea where the
weaknesses were. The operation would involve all of his combat Marines, and would kickoff at 0230
the following morning. For the next twelve hours they planned and briefed the commanders, once the
commanders had been briefed, they returned to their men and women, and briefed them. This went on
for the rest of the night, the following morning and throughout the day the Marines ate and slept. After
that their NCO s ran thought final preparations with everyone down to the last man and woman in
their Platoons and Squads. They were prepared as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Marines began to move slowly taking ground a few feet at a time, by 0400 they hadn t moved
more than two hundred feet and both sides were taking casualties. It was becoming evident that it was
going to be a slug fest. The Marines were great at small unit tactics, but what they were unaware of
was that right in front of them was a National Guard Ranger Company. They were giving as good as
they got, the Rangers were outgunned four to one and had placed various minefields in front of their
positions, which the Marines didn t know about. By 0430 the attack by the Marines had stalled, this
wasn t good, if the Marines couldn t break through the entire plan would fail. General Lane and his
staff quickly analyzed the situation, called for a shift in artillery strikes to the center, they would sent
two companies in a feint to the east. Where the artillery had softened up the line. The artillery would
continue in the area until the two companies had moved and were ready to advance. By 0530, they
were prepared to execute the second plan, the two companies were well hidden in the woods, once the
artillery stopped they would charge the line as quickly as they could, trying to overcome the Soldiers
that were there with speed and aggressiveness. The Marines received word via radio that the artillery
would half in five minutes, they were ready to go, the clock ticked by slowly, tick tock. On the radio

Research Paper On Sudden Cardiac Death
Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is a common and devastating event, often occurring in the prime of life
and having profound consequences for surviving members of the individual s family. Out of hospital
SCD is the cause of more than 60% of all deaths from cardiovascular disease, which is the leading
cause of death worldwide.1 4 In the past few decades, substantial progress has been made in our
understanding of SCD and in its prevention and management. Multiple clinical, structural, autonomic,
and genetic risk factors have been identified and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) has increased. However, SCD continues to be an
important public health problem, largely because the majority

Why I Want To Work In Political Science
My major is Government (Political Science) and of course I am going to get a job that ties into my
Political Science degree. Since Political Sciences is basically the study of politics, I want to work in
place where politics is the main focus. So that s why I choose to work for CNN. And CNN is a
company that employs people who have great knowledge and understanding of politics. Cable News
Network is basic cable and satellite television news channel owned by turner broadcasting system.
CNN was founded in the year 1980 by American media proprietor Ted Turner as a twenty four cable
news channel.
CNN has numerous of affiliates, CNN primarily broadcasts from the Time Warner Center in New York
City, and studios in Washington, D.C. and Los ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The site is updated continuously throughout the day. I also want to work for CNN because they are a
company that knows how to experiment and try other things to help the company grow to become
better. CNN has launched two specialty news channels for the American market which would later
close amid competitive pressure: the sports news channel CNNSI shut down in 2002, while business
news channel CNNfn shut down after nine years on the air in December 2004. CNN also once had a
partnership with Sports Illustrated through the sports website CNNSI.com, but sold the domain name
in May 2015. CNNfn s former website now redirects to money.cnn.com, a product of CNN s strategic
partnership with Money magazine. Money and Sports Illustrated were both Time Warner properties
until 2014, when the company s magazine division was spun off into the separate Time Inc. Also back
in 2012 , CNN launched CNN Films which is a motion picture division of CNN. CNN films mainly
produced original feature length documentaries that will examine an array of political, social, and
economic subject matters.
And my final reason of why I want to work at cnn is biggest and arguably the most most popular news
network ever. According to adweekly, driven by live coverage of the year s US presidential election,
2016 was CNN s most watched year in its history.

The Social Cognitive Theory Of Ptsd
CPT is based on the social cognitive theory of PTSD. This theory focuses on how the traumatic event
is understood and how it is being coped with by the client who is struggling to regain control over his
or her life. CPT also refers to the emotional processing theory of PTSD which is an extension of
information processing theory by Foa, Steketee, and Rothbaum (Mullen, Holliday, Morris, Raja, and
Surís 2014). This theory states PTSD emerges from the development of fear in one s memory that
creates avoidance behavior and provokes one to escape these memories. Mental fear builds stimuli,
responses, and meaning elements (Mullen, Holliday, Morris, Raja, and Surís 2014). Therefore
anything that is associated with the trauma may provoke fear that leads to the concept of escaping and
avoidance behavior. In individuals with PTSD, the fear is known to be easily accessible. When the
fear is activated by the reminders of one s trauma, one builds intrusive symptoms due to the
information trying to process and enter one s consciousness. In order for an individual to avoid these
feelings and thoughts, one tries to avoid it which leads to the avoidance symptoms of PTSD which
include yet are not limited to depression, alienation (Mullen, Holliday, Morris, Raja, and Surís 2014).
Emotional Processing Theory states the repetitive exposure of trauma in a safe environment such as a
therapeutic setting, helps reduce PTSD symptoms by calming and addressing one s fear (Mullen,

Dental Implants Since The Past 20 Years
Dental implants have evolved immensely over the past 20 years. However, the concept of a tooth
replacement implant is not new. From the existence of societies, the importance of beauty and
retaining of one s teeth have been of upmost importance. Having a full set of nice teeth has been
essential in appearance and the main contributor to being perceived attractive. This is because a person
s smile is one of the first things other people notice. The idea of permanently being able to replace
teeth has been a desire of civilizations since the earliest days. Archaeological evidence shows that man
has been trying to overcome periodontal problems and tooth loss for thousands of years. Fortnightly,
our modern day methods of dental implantation are much more successful and painless than the
attempts from 4,000 years ago.
Today dentists use dental implants, also referred to as endosseous implant or fixture. Described in the
simplest form, it is a man made tooth accompanied with an artificial root that is surgically implanted
into the jawbone of a patient who is missing one or more of their natural teeth. The tooth portion of
the implant is usually made from porcelain and is the non permanent portion of the dental implant.
Just as a crown and bridge tend to need replaced after ten to fifteen years, so will the tooth portion of
the implant. The non permanent tooth structure comes in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, which
are made to match your natural teeth. The

Women s Roles And Gender Stereotypes Essay
Women s Roles
The Simpsons is a TV show that airs on the Fox network. During the fifth season, in an episode called
Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy, Lisa challenges the makers of the Malibu Stacy doll to create a less sexist doll.
The original creator of Malibu Stacy teams up with Lisa to create Lisa Lionheart to create a positive
influence for young girls. This episode raised a lot of questions regarding gender roles and
stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are prominent in today s life style. Per gender stereotypes, girls like
princesses and boys like cars. These gender roles, however, do not just apply to children. These roles
are still very prominent in grown up society. The pay gap between men and women Gender roles are a
big part of humankind society.
There is insurmountable evidence that points to the idea that gender stereotypes is largely
accomplished through social factors. Scholars in both sociological and psychological fields believe
that gender is constructed through the modeling of appropriate behaviors and the use of systematic
rewards and punishments. Evidence also shows that many aspects of gender are not innate, as
evidenced by children who do not exhibit a gender specific preference in friends, clothing or toys
when placed in gender neutral settings. Only after negative reactions from parents, teachers, or friends
do many children begin to take on the gender roles society comes to see as appropriate for them.

William James The Varieties Of Religious Experience
The Varieties of Religious Experience by William James is the first record of the use of the term
religious experience/ mysticism. In his book he defined religious experience in four parts: they cannot
be accurately described (ineffable), you cannot will them to occur (passive), they only occur for a
short period of time (transitive) and they convey insights into deep truths (noetic). We could say that,
religious experiences are unexpected experiences with a divine (the Christian God, the Islamic god
(Allah), Judaism god etc.) that are caused by the divine. They can be in the form of seeing or hearing
experiences, which are not brought about by the ordinary human senses. There have been several
arguments on religious experience as to whether it provides justification for religious belief. Most
critics concentrate more on science for the explanations of religious experiences. They say such
experiences are not of any higher divine like the Christian God, etc. since it is not the only way that
can lead to feeling ineffable, passive, transitive and noetic as defined by William James. They argue
that some known drugs are examples of other ways that can lead to one having experiences similar to
the characteristics of religious experiences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Plato and Socrates thought that the mind and body were separate and that mind keeps going after the

Francis Bacon from Britain was also interested in the mind and did experiments
John Locke said that when we are born our mind is empty This helped form empiricism which says
that what we know comes from experience and that observing and experimenting enable scientific

Pluto And Sun Comparison
Being asked to compare my mother with my father is like being asked to compare Pluto with the Sun.
Both completely separate entities consisting of elements antagonistic to each other. Each containing
their own distinct atmosphere and climate: each having their own characteristic qualities that affect the
life surrounding them or subsequent lack thereof. To be quite honest, I don t understand how two
people that are so fundamentally different could have ever fallen in love, fallen into each other s orbit
rather. Polar opposites each on the respective opposite of the perceived solar system. Pulled together
by gravity, yet when found close together they seemed to wear on each other. They were two entirely
separate entities of course; it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their polarity suggests as if their relationship was like the Sun was slowly engulfing Pluto into its
gravity. Coexistence was not an option, not a possibility. Thus came their inevitable, fateful, grand
end.
Like the sun, my mother s appearance is bright, recognizable and captivating. Her beauty can be seen
from great lengths and not easily circumvented. Thankfully, I take after her.
Fortunately for me, I did not inherit any of my father s aberrant or a symmetrical physical attributes.
To best describe him I would recommend visualizing something ogre like. Most importantly, their role
in my universe has always been entirely different. Their characteristic qualities have been the defining
factors in how they affect and influence the lives surrounding them. My mother s all encompassing
love, compassion and support has always been present. She is essential to the life surrounding her, she
sustains the needs of those within her gravity. She, as the Sun, has always been close to my earthly
realm always within reach.
Pluto, being so distant, is non essential. It is incapable of affecting Earth from such a far distance;
Pluto is in no way necessary for

Internal Conflict In Short Stories
Every day, people face conflicts. Whether the conflict is caused by an outside force or something
going on in the person s own mind. The conflicts that are caused by outside forces are called external
conflicts. Some examples of this are man against man, man against nature, and man against society.
While on the other hand, internal conflict is when the narrator of the story is going against himself.
Many times when the narrator faces internal conflict it is because of something that they are needing
to do or something that they are being forced to do even if it goes against every value they believe in.
When they are forced to do something that they do not believe in, this will force the individual to
think about what they are about to do. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He knew he must find his way through that cave, or hole, or tunnel, and out the other side (Lessing

For the remainder of his vacation, every free minute he had was going to the ocean and working on
holding his breath. However, this task may sound easy, Jerry had a hard time accomplishing his goal.
He got many nose bleeds and many times he contemplated giving up on his goal. He had a very hard
time learning to hold his breath long enough to get through the tunnel and back up into the air. Jerry
thought about giving up on his goal many times. When the boys came back and he saw them jumping

vacation Jerry knew that it had to be the day that he would go under the rock. When he went to the
bottom of the rock, he started to go through the tunnel. About halfway through the tunnel, Jerry s
lungs started to burn and his nose started to bleed. When his lungs began to burn with lack of oxygen,
he started to doubt that he was going to make it out of the tunnel. However, he kept pushing through
the tunnel thinking that he would either die trying or be able to get through the tunnel and up into the
atmosphere. When Jerry is almost at the point of needing

Analysis Of The Moai Of Easter Island
The reading and the lecture are both about the Moai of Easter Island. The author of the reading
believes that the construction of the Moai led to the collapse of the civilization located there. The
lecturer casts doubt on the claims made in the article. She thinks that the society on the island did not
suffer as a result of the construction of the Moai. First of all, the author claims that the people of the
island cut down vast amounts of valuable trees in order to build the statues. He notes that the Moai
were moved across the island using wooden tracks and log rollers. This point is challenged by the
lecturer. She says that islanders used a series of ropes to walk the statues to their intended locations.

electricity and heat. It helps provide the warmth necessary for people, plants, and animals to survive.
With the help of today s technology, scientists have found a way to use the sun to help us in our
everyday lives. The idea of solar energy has, resulted in the use of solar power. Thus, it could lead to a
more modernized and efficient society. Solar energy is a renewable resource and is converted to
electrical energy in two ways: by using photovoltaic materials or the thermal process. The
photovoltaic method, generates electric power by using the solar energy to convert energy from the
sun into a flow of electrons. (Sethia, et al., 2017). The thermal method is a process that uses the energy
from the sun to heat a working fluid in an electric generating cycle. Solar energy is one of the most
important sources of energy we could have because it is a non polluting energy. This, in turn, helps in
lessening the greenhouse effect. The most popular way to use solar energy is through the use of solar
panels. To generate the high temperatures necessary to make steam to generate electricity, the sunlight
must be concentrated. Solar thermal technology often uses reflectors in the form of parabolic
concentrators or flat mirrors to focus the sun s rays onto a water filled pipe.
While at work, I was also able to interview a customer who used to be in the solar panel business. His
name is Henry Caldwell, and he used to work for Turnbull Contracting, LLC, in Bowling Green,
Missouri. During the interview, I was able to learn about the different systems they offer, and some
types of solar panels available. The two systems available from Turnbull Contracting are the string
inverter and the micro inverter. First, the string inverter is the most basic out of the two. The string
system would be ideal for homes and businesses that have direct sunlight and openings. The panels in
this system are all chained together so that when one panels gets shade, it also impact the other panels.
However, the micro inverter is more up to date

Dante Inferno Essay
Dante Alighieri was a major Italian poet born in Florence, Italy in 1265, around the Middle Ages.
Although he wrote other works, none were as notable as the Divine Comedy, the most illustrious work
of all medieval European literature. This epic dives into Dante s journey through hell, purgatory, and
paradise. The various religious and political figures, mythological references, as well as biblical
references, all play a role in the poet s comprehensive analysis of the turmoil Florence was facing in
the Middle Ages. In Dante s Inferno, the poet spawns his own form of punishment of the heinous
conduct that was spurning in his time period. Dante s inspiration for this epic stemmed from being
exiled from Florence. As he was exiled, he commented on the corruptness in Italy, which produced
Dante s allegory Inferno. Using a biographical lens, we can see the the influence of his life in this
work. In Dante s Inferno, Dante s background plays a prominent role in how he illustrates politics in
Hell. He incorporates the history of the Church during the 1300s.The poet illustrates the venal
behaviors of both religious figures, and the Catholic Church in its entirety. Dante s resentment towards
the church is primarily due to the corruption that the church displayed during his time period, his heart
overflows with the wrath he feels against those who corrupt the things of God (Dante 152). The
ordeals during that time period influenced him to write the Inferno as a forewarning towards

Summary Of The Reclaiming The American Dream Report
In the Reclaiming the American Dream report (AACC, 2012), seven recommendations were suggested
to meet the needs of the students, as well as having a strong community college system. Hence, these
recommendation address redesigning students educational experiences, reinventing institutional roles,
and resetting the system to create incentives for students and institutional triumphs.
Recommendation One A section of recommendation one is to increase completion rates of students
earning community college credentials (certificates and associate degrees) by fifty percent by 2020.
(AACC, 2012 p. 26). Although recommendation one is certainly obtainable, completing the goal by
2020 is doubtful. As an administrator, in order to see a goal this large come to manifestation, everyone
has to get on the bus, and asking the same question who instead of what then, and only then will a goal
this large will manifest ( Collins, 2001). However, utilizing particular strategies to accomplish the goal
will help toward achieving the goal. In doing that, students would be served more effectively and
more efficiently, because staff and faculty would be more intentional regarding the service rendered.
Affective academic advising is an essential and sure way to promote students retention (O Banion,
1997). In addition, using strategies to construct coherent, structured pathways to complete degrees,
promote transfers from community colleges to four year institutions, and to assist students

Church Ministry Essay
The history itself of the decree on the ministry and life of the priests is an extensive one and difficult
to summarize. The possibility of having just a disciplinary decree dealing with practical matters of
ministry and spiritual life was considered, but the conciliar fathers gradually became more aware of
the need to say something in regards to the priests, something comparable to what the Council had
said about the bishops and the laity. That is to say, the decree would have to refer to the doctrine, but
they realized this a bit too late to make major changes. The last date for rejection of De Vita et
Ministerio Sacerdotali was October 19, 1964, there was only one more session of the council

Starting from Christ to the apostles, and from the apostles the bishops, at the request of 124 priests.
However, this was not sufficient and did not satisfy those loyal to other ways of understanding the
priesthood, especially the French school. In distributing the first amendment to the text of the first
draft of Presbyterorum ordinis, just after acceptance of the amended text as the textus recognitus, the
archbishop François Marty summarized the discrepancy of views: As to the specific nature of the
ministry and life of the presbyters. In this case, two conceptions have been expressed which seem to
differ at first sight. One of them insists more on the consecration of the priest worked by the sacrament
of Orders, and on the personal union of the priest with Christ, who is the source of sanctity and
spiritual effectiveness. The other conception, however, insists on the mission of the priest, a mission
which he receives from Christ through the sacrament: that is, the priest, since he becomes an assistant
to the Order of Bishops, acts in the person of Christ for the edification of church. Fact is, both
conceptions bring to light an aspect of great importance in the ministry and life of the presbyters.
Therefore, the commission will be careful to show how both conceptions harmoniously combine and
are in fact completed, so that they go together in the unity of the priestly ministry. Nonconformities

Jack the Egomaniac in William Golding s Lord of the Flies
Having an individual take control over a group is inevitable. Adolf Hitler took over Germany; at first
he was appointed as chancellor but the Germans let him get away with taking over as dictator
(Truemen , 2013). It was out of fear that the Germans let him be in power. In Lord of the Flies,
William Golding utilizes Jack as the most important character in the novel because of how his
psychological personality affects the plot. Jack, much like Hitler, gains control by instilling fear into
the others and takes over as leader. Throughout the whole book Golding continues to use Jack to twist
the story. He stands in the way of the other boys success in getting off of the island. Jack is motivated
by his id and seeks authority at all costs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jack tries hard to turn everyone against Ralph by saying Hands up [...] whoever wants Ralph not to be
chief? (118). Jack pushes boundaries throughout the whole book because he was not elected to be
chief. He continuously tries to cast the group away from Ralph and begins to embrace savagery and
violence. Once again Jack displays himself as the id when he is trying to lure the others away from
Ralph so he can egotistically become in control of the group to get what he wants. Jack picks on Piggy
throughout the whole novel making Piggy seem inferior to everyone; when Jack compares Ralph to
Piggy, he is demoralizing him in front of the group and creating the illusion that he is weak. [Ralph is]
like Piggy. He says things like Piggy. He isn t a proper chief. (50). From the time Jack met Piggy; he
made him look foolish to the group, even the littleuns disrespected him. Now that Jack compares
Ralph to Piggy, he convinces the others that he is better fit as a leader than Ralph. Jack uses his
hunting skills as a bribe to wean the others away from Ralph to his own tribe. I gave you food [...] and
my hunters will protect you from the beast. Who will join my tribe? (139). He tricks the other boys

Low Socioeconomic Disadvantages Of Virtual School
By endorsing activities that build on each pupil s personal strength and skills, educators have a greater
chance of breaking through the cycle of socioeconomic disadvantage within the younger generation.
Thomson (2002) suggests that virtual schoolbags, the unique knowledge and interests each student
brings to school, places children in a social position that is either advantageous or disadvantageous.
Being born in a middle class family is more likely to result in children with higher literacy and
numeracy rates because their parents are better equipped at effectively preparing them for school.
Conversely, students from a low socioeconomic background have parents who are too busy working

The Ocean Has Been My Favorite Environment
For as long as I can remember, the ocean has been my favorite environment. It s the only place that I
constantly feel at one with the earth and my surroundings. From an early age I always had an idea on
what I wanted to pursue as my career. I would read books about the oceanic world below and The
Great Barrier Reef in Australia. It wasn t until I encountered a wild dolphin at Clearwater beach,
Florida that I decided to be a marine biologist. The dolphin was so friendly and welcoming, swimming
by me and my brother and allowing us to stroke his slimy skin. That experience will stick with me
forever and is a huge part of why I want to pursue a career in marine biology.
When I chose to be a marine biologist, my parents were very supportive. They would take us to the
beach as much as possible for vacations, but also for me to be in that environment often. There are
numerous goals that I would hope to accomplish in my field like being promoted to the highest
position possible and being paid the maximum salary. Those goals will motivate me to work to my
fullest potential and always work my hardest. My ultimate goal is of course to help the world by
finding better ways to help out the ocean biome and to make the animals that live there become safer.
Making sure the animals are being treated good and the environment will help the surface world in
multiple ways.

though it just means that the disease pertains to the abdomen.
The celiac disease comes from early farmers and hunters. But because the wheat and grain of the

1 in 300 people have it. About 1 in 4,700 people in America have Celiac. This is uncommon since
Americans are descendants of Europeans. Red Cross had a recent study in which they took random
blood samples and tested them for Celiac. The study suggested that 1 in 250 Americans have celiac,
which shows that Americans are extremely under diagnosed.
Phenotypes/diagnosing the disorder
There are such a vast variety of symptoms in celiac that it can be very hard to diagnose. Symptoms
may or may not be in the abdomen. One person can have diarrhea or abdominal pain while another has
irritability and depression. Irritability is the most common symptom in children. Some symptoms of

Ø Recurring abdominal bloating and pain
Ø Chronic Diarrhea
Ø Weight loss
Ø Pale foul smelling stool
Ø Unexplained low red blood cell count

Similarities Between Jamestown And Plymouth Colonies
Coming to America, many different groups of people had a hard time migrating here and trying to

hardships that they were not prepared for mentally and physically. In this essay, I will talk about two
different groups that migrated to America and how they adjusted to the new land and the new way of

they all came to the conclusion that Smith should be elected president because he had learned from the

History Of Independent Contractors And Employees
Introduction Independent contractors and employees are two significantly different types of workers
and this distinction is clearly important in the realm of business as it alters many policies. As a result,
the court is often tasked with the question of differentiating the two types of workers. To help the
judges with this question, the upper level courts have created multiple tests to help determine an
employee from an independent contractor ranging from the test developed in the case of 1671122
Ontario Ltd. v. Sagaz Industries Canada Inc, Housen v. Nikolaisen, 2002 SCC 33 to Wolf v. The
Queen, 2002 D.T.C. 6053. This is concerning to have these many tests as it creates confusion, but in
the case of Connor Homes v Canada, 2013 the court attempts to create a uniform test. This paper will
use the concept of F.I.L.A.R., fact, issue, law, application, ratio to examine the Connor Homes case to
show why this case s outcome substantially impacts business practices.
Facts Before describing the facts of the case, it is worth noting that all the facts have already went
through the court scrutiny as the facts are taken from the subscript of the Appeal court. What this
means is that the facts are deem to be legitimate as the lower level courts would have already
questioned the creditability of the facts, since the upper level courts do not concern itself with
questions of law.
Connor Homes is the appellant in this case and he is a license foster care operator. This means he

The Reformation Of Henry VIII And The Protestant Reformation
The Protestant Reformation was a 16th Century movement aimed at reorganising beliefs and practices
of the Roman Catholic Church which had fallen to unpopularity in recent years. There are many
argued causes of the reforms and it is controversial to suggest that any one had significance over the
others. To fully explore the causes of the reformations in England it is necessary to consider the
position of Henry VIII, legitimate dissatisfaction many English people held with the Roman Catholic
church, and other social factors.
Henry VIII largely influenced the reformations in England. One of the Kings main reasons for pushing
for a Protestant England came from the fact that he wished to separate from his first wife, Catherine of
Aragon. Henry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Henry VIII had many reasons to lead England towards reform, including more power amongst the
fellow leaders of his country, and economic, social, and political reasoning s.
Many English people had legitimate dissatisfactions with the way the Roman Catholic Church was
being run in the 16th Century. To maximise the income of the church, priests popularised the selling of
indulgences. The church preyed on the vulnerable, exploiting them for money in exchange for the
belief that their relatives would not be existing in purgatory. There were three main areas used to
exploit money from Catholic followers relics, indulgences, and pilgrimages. Small groups of
reformers addressed the issues with these unnecessary sales and brought awareness to parishes which
led to distrust of the churches. As a religion, Roman Catholicism appoints a lot of power to the Pope
which many people in England sought issue with partially because the Pope had little to no idea what
was happening in their country (unlike the King, who would become the head of the Church of
England), and partly because of apostolic succession which suggested that power and authority should
be passed on to their successors. This was a problem for many people as no religious scriptures stated
that apostolic succession should be enforced. The 16th Century saw many religious people coming to
the realisation that the Roman Catholic Church was not leading

Reaganomics Essay
How Reaganomics Will Affect My Life
Reaganomics was economics policies which were propelled by United States President, Ronald
Reagan during 1980s. These policies were based on fours pillars namely; reduction of the growth of
government spending, reduction of income and capital gains marginal tax rates, reduction of
government regulation of economy, and controlling of the money in supply so as to reduce inflation.
Their basic aims were to lower taxes and create a leaner government. According to Reagan his
decision was informed on stimulation of the economy taxes, financed by borrowing. Lowering taxes
was aimed at reviving the economy, which in turn would see the increased tax revenues being used to
offset the debts incurred (Niskanen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another theory that influenced reaganomicism was that of Milton Friedman. He was the founder of
monetarism. His theory asserts that the level and direction of spending on the federal budget is more
important than the amount of the deficit, and that a stable monetary policy allows borrowing to
finance an unbalanced budget . Reagan used the two when he oversaw a plan that relied on faith in
free enterprise, not necessary in government, as the basis for economic expansion (Boskin1987). As a
result of lower taxes, it prompted corporation to invest, leading U.S consumers to buy more. As the
company grew, due to increased consumer spending, it would indirectly raise government tax
revenues. The trend would trickle to benefit even the poorest U.S citizens. Reaganomics principles
encouraged many industries to have self control during the early 80s. This led to greater competition
and lower prices for consumers (Boskin 1887).
Reaganomics in a nut shell espouses that if a government offers incentives to the upper class tax cuts,
better operating environment they would in turn create jobs and the benefit trickles down to the
middle and lower classes. Today s reforms in

It establishes the thought that human behavior and activities that are the major cause of global climatic changes, therefore, human beings shall alter their lifestyles in order to put a stop at the global climatic changes. Global Climatic Changes Introduction Global climatic change can be defined as a long term shift in the overall and average climatic conditions. It is quite evident from various statistics that there has been a significant change in the global climate. The end of the 20th and the 21st century have witnessed some of the warmest periods of the globe. The temperature recorded during this period was reported to be highest when compared with the instrumental temperature records. The evident shifts in the Global climate started in the mid of the 19th century and after that the global climate kept on getting worse with the passage of time. They had already been probing the lines to their west and had a very good idea where the weaknesses were. The operation would involve all of his combat Marines, and would kickoff at 0230 the following morning. For the next twelve hours they planned and briefed the commanders, once the commanders had been briefed, they returned to their men and women, and briefed them. The Marines began to move slowly taking ground a few feet at a time, by 0400 they hadn t moved more than two hundred feet and both sides were taking casualties. It was becoming evident that it was going to be a slug fest. The Marines were great at small unit tactics, but what they were unaware of was that right in front of them was a National Guard Ranger Company. They were giving as good as they got, the Rangers were outgunned four to one and had placed various minefields in front of their positions, which the Marines didn t know about. By 0430 the attack by the Marines had stalled, this wasn t good, if the Marines couldn t break through the entire plan would fail. General Lane and his staff quickly analyzed the situation, called for a shift in artillery strikes to the center, they would sent two companies in a feint to the east. Where the artillery had softened up the line. The artillery would continue in the area until the two companies had moved and were ready to advance. By 0530, they were prepared to execute the second plan, the two companies were well hidden in the woods, once the artillery stopped they would charge the line as quickly as they could, trying to overcome the Soldiers that were there with speed and aggressiveness. • 7. The Social Cognitive Theory Of Ptsd CPT is based on the social cognitive theory of PTSD. This theory focuses on how the traumatic event is understood and how it is being coped with by the client who is struggling to regain control over his or her life. CPT also refers to the emotional processing theory of PTSD which is an extension of information processing theory by Foa, Steketee, and Rothbaum (Mullen, Holliday, Morris, Raja, and Surís 2014). This theory states PTSD emerges from the development of fear in one s memory that creates avoidance behavior and provokes one to escape these memories. Mental fear builds stimuli, responses, and meaning elements (Mullen, Holliday, Morris, Raja, and Surís 2014). Therefore anything that is associated with the trauma may provoke fear that leads to the concept of escaping and avoidance behavior. In individuals with PTSD, the fear is known to be easily accessible. When the fear is activated by the reminders of one s trauma, one builds intrusive symptoms due to the information trying to process and enter one s consciousness. In order for an individual to avoid these feelings and thoughts, one tries to avoid it which leads to the avoidance symptoms of PTSD which include yet are not limited to depression, alienation (Mullen, Holliday, Morris, Raja, and Surís 2014). Emotional Processing Theory states the repetitive exposure of trauma in a safe environment such as a therapeutic setting, helps reduce PTSD symptoms by calming and addressing one s fear (Mullen, Holliday, Morris, ... From the existence of societies, the importance of beauty and retaining of one s teeth have been of upmost importance. Having a full set of nice teeth has been essential in appearance and the main contributor to being perceived attractive. This is because a person s smile is one of the first things other people notice. The idea of permanently being able to replace teeth has been a desire of civilizations since the earliest days. Archaeological evidence shows that man has been trying to overcome periodontal problems and tooth loss for thousands of years. Fortnightly, our modern day methods of dental implantation are much more successful and painless than the attempts from 4,000 years ago. Today dentists use dental implants, also referred to as endosseous implant or fixture. Described in the simplest form, it is a man made tooth accompanied with an artificial root that is surgically implanted into the jawbone of a patient who is missing one or more of their natural teeth. The tooth portion of the implant is usually made from porcelain and is the non permanent portion of the dental implant. During the fifth season, in an episode called Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy, Lisa challenges the makers of the Malibu Stacy doll to create a less sexist doll. The original creator of Malibu Stacy teams up with Lisa to create Lisa Lionheart to create a positive influence for young girls. This episode raised a lot of questions regarding gender roles and stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are prominent in today s life style. Per gender stereotypes, girls like princesses and boys like cars. These gender roles, however, do not just apply to children. These roles are still very prominent in grown up society. The pay gap between men and women Gender roles are a big part of humankind society. There is insurmountable evidence that points to the idea that gender stereotypes is largely accomplished through social factors. Scholars in both sociological and psychological fields believe that gender is constructed through the modeling of appropriate behaviors and the use of systematic rewards and punishments. Evidence also shows that many aspects of gender are not innate, as evidenced by children who do not exhibit a gender specific preference in friends, clothing or toys when placed in gender neutral settings. Only after negative reactions from parents, teachers, or friends do many children begin to take on the gender roles society comes to see as appropriate for them. • 10. William James The Varieties Of Religious Experience The Varieties of Religious Experience by William James is the first record of the use of the term religious experience/ mysticism. In his book he defined religious experience in four parts: they cannot be accurately described (ineffable), you cannot will them to occur (passive), they only occur for a short period of time (transitive) and they convey insights into deep truths (noetic). We could say that, religious experiences are unexpected experiences with a divine (the Christian God, the Islamic god (Allah), Judaism god etc.) that are caused by the divine. They can be in the form of seeing or hearing experiences, which are not brought about by the ordinary human senses. There have been several arguments on religious experience as to whether it provides justification for religious belief. Most critics concentrate more on science for the explanations of religious experiences. They say such experiences are not of any higher divine like the Christian God, etc. since it is not the only way that can lead to feeling ineffable, passive, transitive and noetic as defined by William James. They argue that some known drugs are examples of other ways that can lead to one having experiences similar to the characteristics of religious experiences. ... While on the other hand, internal conflict is when the narrator of the story is going against himself. Many times when the narrator faces internal conflict it is because of something that they are needing to do or something that they are being forced to do even if it goes against every value they believe in. • 21. The Pros And Cons Of Solar Energy Even though only a small amount of the sun s heat ever reaches Earth, it is enough to power the whole world. Solar energy is always being provided to us by the Sun. Solar energy can be converted into electricity and heat. It helps provide the warmth necessary for people, plants, and animals to survive. With the help of today s technology, scientists have found a way to use the sun to help us in our everyday lives. The idea of solar energy has, resulted in the use of solar power. Thus, it could lead to a more modernized and efficient society. Solar energy is a renewable resource and is converted to electrical energy in two ways: by using photovoltaic materials or the thermal process. The photovoltaic method, generates electric power by using the solar energy to convert energy from the sun into a flow of electrons. (Sethia, et al., 2017). The thermal method is a process that uses the energy from the sun to heat a working fluid in an electric generating cycle. Solar energy is one of the most important sources of energy we could have because it is a non polluting energy. This, in turn, helps in lessening the greenhouse effect. The most popular way to use solar energy is through the use of solar panels. To generate the high temperatures necessary to make steam to generate electricity, the sunlight must be concentrated. Solar thermal technology often uses reflectors in the form of parabolic concentrators or flat mirrors to focus the sun s rays onto a water filled pipe. While at work, I was also able to interview a customer who used to be in the solar panel business. His name is Henry Caldwell, and he used to work for Turnbull Contracting, LLC, in Bowling Green, Missouri. During the interview, I was able to learn about the different systems they offer, and some types of solar panels available. The two systems available from Turnbull Contracting are the string inverter and the micro inverter. First, the string inverter is the most basic out of the two. The string system would be ideal for homes and businesses that have direct sunlight and openings. The panels in this system are all chained together so that when one panels gets shade, it also impact the other panels. However, the micro inverter is more up to date ... • 22. Dante Inferno Essay Dante Alighieri was a major Italian poet born in Florence, Italy in 1265, around the Middle Ages. Although he wrote other works, none were as notable as the Divine Comedy, the most illustrious work of all medieval European literature. This epic dives into Dante s journey through hell, purgatory, and paradise. The various religious and political figures, mythological references, as well as biblical references, all play a role in the poet s comprehensive analysis of the turmoil Florence was facing in the Middle Ages. In Dante s Inferno, the poet spawns his own form of punishment of the heinous conduct that was spurning in his time period. Dante s inspiration for this epic stemmed from being exiled from Florence. As he was exiled, he commented on the corruptness in Italy, which produced Dante s allegory Inferno. Using a biographical lens, we can see the the influence of his life in this work. In Dante s Inferno, Dante s background plays a prominent role in how he illustrates politics in Hell. He incorporates the history of the Church during the 1300s.The poet illustrates the venal behaviors of both religious figures, and the Catholic Church in its entirety. Dante s resentment towards the church is primarily due to the corruption that the church displayed during his time period, his heart overflows with the wrath he feels against those who corrupt the things of God (Dante 152). Summary Of The Reclaiming The American Dream Report In the Reclaiming the American Dream report (AACC, 2012), seven recommendations were suggested to meet the needs of the students, as well as having a strong community college system. Hence, these recommendation address redesigning students educational experiences, reinventing institutional roles, and resetting the system to create incentives for students and institutional triumphs. Recommendation One A section of recommendation one is to increase completion rates of students earning community college credentials (certificates and associate degrees) by fifty percent by 2020. (AACC, 2012 p. 26). Although recommendation one is certainly obtainable, completing the goal by 2020 is doubtful. As an administrator, in order to see a goal this large come to manifestation, everyone has to get on the bus, and asking the same question who instead of what then, and only then will a goal this large will manifest ( Collins, 2001). However, utilizing particular strategies to accomplish the goal will help toward achieving the goal. In doing that, students would be served more effectively and more efficiently, because staff and faculty would be more intentional regarding the service rendered. Affective academic advising is an essential and sure way to promote students retention (O Banion, 1997). The possibility of having just a disciplinary decree dealing with practical matters of ministry and spiritual life was considered, but the conciliar fathers gradually became more aware of the need to say something in regards to the priests, something comparable to what the Council had said about the bishops and the laity. That is to say, the decree would have to refer to the doctrine, but they realized this a bit too late to make major changes. In this case, two conceptions have been expressed which seem to differ at first sight. One of them insists more on the consecration of the priest worked by the sacrament of Orders, and on the personal union of the priest with Christ, who is the source of sanctity and spiritual effectiveness. The other conception, however, insists on the mission of the priest, a mission which he receives from Christ through the sacrament: that is, the priest, since he becomes an assistant to the Order of Bishops, acts in the person of Christ for the edification of church. Fact is, both conceptions bring to light an aspect of great importance in the ministry and life of the presbyters. Therefore, the commission will be careful to show how both conceptions harmoniously combine and are in fact completed, so that they go together in the unity of the priestly ministry. I see myself getting involved with extracurricular activities, I am especially keen about the healthy trinity initiative and I definitely see my self getting involved. ... • 35. Most Positive Intervention In my opinion, the most beneficial intervention for making people happier than they actually are is the Three good things in life . In this intervention, each person needs to write three good things that happened to him during the current day and what, in his opinion, caused these good things. I think it s the most beneficial intervention due to the feeling it causes you and the consciousness it makes on your mind, as well as the influence on your environment. The first reason I think writing three good things is the most beneficial intervention is related to the fact that most of the people tend to think only about the bad things they go through during the day. When a person writes down the good things that went well on each day, it might ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. History Of Independent Contractors And Employees Introduction Independent contractors and employees are two significantly different types of workers and this distinction is clearly important in the realm of business as it alters many policies. As a result, the court is often tasked with the question of differentiating the two types of workers. To help the judges with this question, the upper level courts have created multiple tests to help determine an employee from an independent contractor ranging from the test developed in the case of 1671122 Ontario Ltd. v. Sagaz Industries Canada Inc, Housen v. Nikolaisen, 2002 SCC 33 to Wolf v. The Queen, 2002 D.T.C. 6053. This is concerning to have these many tests as it creates confusion, but in the case of Connor Homes v Canada, 2013 the court attempts to create a uniform test. This paper will use the concept of F.I.L.A.R., fact, issue, law, application, ratio to examine the Connor Homes case to show why this case s outcome substantially impacts business practices. Facts Before describing the facts of the case, it is worth noting that all the facts have already went through the court scrutiny as the facts are taken from the subscript of the Appeal court. What this means is that the facts are deem to be legitimate as the lower level courts would have already questioned the creditability of the facts, since the upper level courts do not concern itself with questions of law. Connor Homes is the appellant in this case and he is a license foster care operator. This means he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Reformation Of Henry VIII And The Protestant Reformation The Protestant Reformation was a 16th Century movement aimed at reorganising beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church which had fallen to unpopularity in recent years. There are many argued causes of the reforms and it is controversial to suggest that any one had significance over the others. To fully explore the causes of the reformations in England it is necessary to consider the position of Henry VIII, legitimate dissatisfaction many English people held with the Roman Catholic church, and other social factors. Henry VIII largely influenced the reformations in England. One of the Kings main reasons for pushing for a Protestant England came from the fact that he wished to separate from his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Henry ... Henry VIII had many reasons to lead England towards reform, including more power amongst the fellow leaders of his country, and economic, social, and political reasoning s. Many English people had legitimate dissatisfactions with the way the Roman Catholic Church was being run in the 16th Century. To maximise the income of the church, priests popularised the selling of indulgences. The church preyed on the vulnerable, exploiting them for money in exchange for the belief that their relatives would not be existing in purgatory. There were three main areas used to exploit money from Catholic followers relics, indulgences, and pilgrimages. Small groups of reformers addressed the issues with these unnecessary sales and brought awareness to parishes which led to distrust of the churches. As a religion, Roman Catholicism appoints a lot of power to the Pope which many people in England sought issue with partially because the Pope had little to no idea what was happening in their country (unlike the King, who would become the head of the Church of England), and partly because of apostolic succession which suggested that power and authority should be passed on to their successors. This was a problem for many people as no religious scriptures stated that apostolic succession should be enforced. The 16th Century saw many religious people coming to the realisation that the Roman Catholic Church was not leading ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Reaganomics Essay How Reaganomics Will Affect My Life Reaganomics was economics policies which were propelled by United States President, Ronald Reagan during 1980s. These policies were based on fours pillars namely; reduction of the growth of government spending, reduction of income and capital gains marginal tax rates, reduction of government regulation of economy, and controlling of the money in supply so as to reduce inflation. Their basic aims were to lower taxes and create a leaner government. According to Reagan his decision was informed on stimulation of the economy taxes, financed by borrowing. Lowering taxes was aimed at reviving the economy, which in turn would see the increased tax revenues being used to offset the debts incurred (Niskanen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another theory that influenced reaganomicism was that of Milton Friedman. He was the founder of monetarism. His theory asserts that the level and direction of spending on the federal budget is more important than the amount of the deficit, and that a stable monetary policy allows borrowing to finance an unbalanced budget . Reagan used the two when he oversaw a plan that relied on faith in free enterprise, not necessary in government, as the basis for economic expansion (Boskin1987). As a result of lower taxes, it prompted corporation to invest, leading U.S consumers to buy more. As the company grew, due to increased consumer spending, it would indirectly raise government tax revenues. The trend would trickle to benefit even the poorest U.S citizens. Reaganomics principles encouraged many industries to have self control during the early 80s. This led to greater competition and lower prices for consumers (Boskin 1887). Reaganomics in a nut shell espouses that if a government offers incentives to the upper class tax cuts, better operating environment they would in turn create jobs and the benefit trickles down to the middle and lower classes.
