network code, as well as any SMS messages, and much more useful information.
I. How to Perform a Sound Experiment
There is a guideline proposed by the UK Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) that defines
some rules for the handling of digital evidence [10]. The device must be kept separate from the
network, and the investigation process should be properly planned. The functionality of the tool or
software must be known also for having a secure wireless connection with device in order not to
delete any information while running it [4]. A dummyrun approach can be used with same type of
device under investigation. The device must be seized and analyzed by well trained persons. In
Subscriber Identity Module Analysis law enforcement collects the network and user data through
various types of SIM. Integrated Circuit Card ID (ICCID, International Mobile Subscriber Identity
(IMSI), Mobile Country Code (MCC), Mobile Network Code (MNC), Mobile Station International
Subscriber Directory Number (MSISDN) and Abbreviated Dialing Numbers (ADN) analysis is
performed on SIM. Using forensics software and sophisticated tools which can retrieve data logically
or directly from a mobile device can result in valuable evidence. The growing industry of mobile
phones is creating a challenge for forensics investigators to be able to extract evidence at all even
when using different tools. Forensics tools should be developed with advancement in technology.

Immanuel Kant Biography
Immanuel Kant was born Emmanuel in eastern Prussia into a poor family in 1724. His family had
originally emigrated from Scotland where they spelled their last name Cant. Emmanuel s family was
quite large by today s standards consisting of nine children, he was the fourth born and only one of
four to make it to adulthood. He and his siblings grew up in a Pietist house, the focus of Pietism was
the literal study of the bible. Their childhood was a strict and punitive one that stressed religious
teachings over the sciences and mathematics. After learning Hebrew, Emmanuel changed his name to
Immanuel. While attending the Collegium Fridericianum was a good student, Immanuel improved his
studies and eventually enrolled at the University of Kongsberg by age 16 in 1740. It is there that he
taught about the great philosophers Leibniz and Wolff by a rationalist Martin Knutzen. It is also here
where Kant was exposed to the mathematical physics of Sir Isaac Newton. In 1746 Kant s father died,
he left the university to become a private tutor. Kant would eventually rejoin the university and spend

differences with priori and posteriori knowledge. He also went on to define analytic and synthetic
judgements. This book was very hard to read due to it using complex, confusing terminology and
being a very dry topic. Kant tried to clear up confusion from his first book by writing a second shorter

Leadership As A Charismatic Leader
Numerous of leaders especially in the church are considered charismatic. Before the 1980 s, charisma
was not a major topic of discussion. The Charismatic approach is measured to reflect a particular kind
of leader. They are usually strong self confident individuals that portray competency. Their followers
tend to mimic the goals and leadership style of the charismatic leader. They are gifted in articulating
their ideas, plans and goals to others while creating an ambiance that says, do as I do. They can
articulate a compelling or captivating vision and can arouse strong emotions in followers. Despite the
controversy about the originality of the charismatic leader, they are effective in the church, politics,

The paper clarifies this thought by sharing the beginning of many notable individuals leadership style
and how they matriculated to the office of the President of the United States and renowned Civil
Rights Leaders. The Christian Worldview is shared that good leadership is defined one s relationship
with God and how we treat one another.
It provides information about biblical leadership such as David, Jesus, and Paul whose leadership
approach is charismatic and remains effective today in many churches. It further talks about the
charismatic approaches of men like Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy, Barak Obama who
swept the nation off their feet because of the resounding eloquent speeches that many young and old
now recite and hold true to their hearts. Moreover, this paper speaks about some twenty first century
charismatic leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr., Barak Obama, and Bill Clinton. Details are
provided to show that Charisma is a process, which links the traits of the charismatic leader to a

Charismatic Leaders Born or Made?

of gifts. Because high self confidence and strong conviction in one s beliefs is a given factor for the

Comfortable Classroom Atmosphere
How to Create a Comfortable Classroom Atmosphere?
Studying is frequently associated with struggling. For students, studying is their own choice made
after a careful consideration and checking the pros and cons. For kids, studying is what they are
obliged to do. They do not even understand the importance of education and do only what their
parents tell them. Frequently, they take education like a punishment or like an obligation that brings
them nothing but a plenty of negative emotions. However, a teacher can always change the attitude of
kids to the studying process. Creating a comfortable classroom atmosphere, a teacher can motivate
kids for better results.
Why positive atmosphere is important

It takes days and sometimes even weeks to find a mutual language with all kids. The prior task for a
teacher is to keep friendly and positive atmosphere no matter what happens. Using this approach, the
desired result will be reached in the shortest possible time. To fasten this process, follow the basic
strategies and tips that help re build the atmosphere into the most appropriate for effective studying.
1. Never stay passive
All your efforts to create a comfortable atmosphere in your class have no sense if you stay passive
during the classes. Add dynamics to the way you behave in the classroom, do not be afraid to make
jokes and discuss with your students or schoolchildren the most complicated issues that are interesting
for them. Every time you prepare for a lesson, you need to remember that the theme and ideas of these
lessons should be interesting for kids. You need to find a way to present any information in a way that
will capture their attention. Active position of a teacher is a strong motivation for kids and students.
When they see how deeply you are interested in your subject, they unintentionally adopt this attitude
and also become

Background of the NBA Lockout
Introduction The middle ground argument is where by the positive and negative sides of a topic are
looked at, carefully discussed and a middle or neutral position is taken for the two contrasting sides
(Jasinski, 2006). In any contentious issue the person analyzing the situation should look at both sides
of the issue. After critical analysis they can then state their stand which will favor neither side.
Background The NBA lockout that was experienced in 2011 was the fourth lockout to have been
experienced in the history of NBA. The lock out began on expiring of the collective bargaining
agreement that had been made in 2006. The lockout lasted one hundred and sixty one days
(CACCIOLA, 2011). The crucial issues that brought about the lockout that resulted from the
disagreement of owners and players represented by National Basketball Players Association were the
salary cap structure, the luxury tax and the way revenue was to be divided. When the lockout took
place there was no trading by teams, no new signings and absolutely no contact with the players. After
consecutive meetings, there was an agreement reached and a tentative deal made which was later
ratified. The real gist of the lockout was the ratio of the revenue that each side was to take home from
the total $4 billion. The players indicated that they were ready to concede on the salary issued but
wanted a significant share of the revenue. On the other side, the owners indicated that they had and

Evolution Of Rap During The 80 s
The evolution of rap during the 80 s, 90 s and 2000 s until now. Introduction: What is rap? Rap is
defined in the dictionary as: a style of popular music, developed by disc jockeys and urban blacks in
the late 1970s, in which an insistent, recurring beat pattern provides the background and counterpoint
for rapid, slangy, and often boastful rhyming patter glibly intoned by a vocalist or vocalists. Which
implies that rap is defined by its fast, narcissistic, aggressive, and rhyming lyrics. Simply said rap is
talking slightly faster than usual often accompanied by music. Rap originated in ghettos where youth
had to deal with gangs, drugs, murders, rape, and racial profiling by the police. This is why rap lyrics
are often about violence, drugs, money and sex, which was very controversial and often protested by
parents and politicians. In this assignment I will research and discuss the origins and development of
rap on a 30 year timeline, as well as the surrounding controversy and internal conflicts of the rap
industry. Motivation: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Private Memoirs And Confessions Of A Justified Sinner
The history of gothic literature is a discussion of how the classic gothic literature has morphed into
today s contemporary gothic literature. From the beginning days of gothic writing one of the main
focuses has been on the issues that were relevant in the county or world at the time. Most people think
of gothic writings as a scary story of gloom and doom, but there are many aspects that encompass a
gothic writing. The true is that there are many elements to a gothic writing. The writer does not need
to use all of them at the same time, but to use some of them to make it a gothic writing. As technology
and the social atmosphere have evaluated writers have incorporated these elements into their writing.
Gothic literature is said to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

America believed that the gothic genre was source of outside evil on the new world. This is supported
by Reverend Enos Hitchcock s Memoirs of the Bloomsgrove Family, in which he blames the
corruption of young women in the new nation on foreign writings and foreign manners and prays May
this rising empire cease to import both the one and the other! (Ringel) The 1800 s rang in a new era of

What We Are Advertisers By James Twitchell
Advertising has come a long way in terms of advancement with the enlightenment of the new
technological age we live in now. In James Twitchell s essay What We Are to Advertisers, the author
explains that mass production means mass marketing, and mass marketing means the creation of mass
stereotypes. Generally, the use of stereotypical profiling in our society not only exists in regards to
race, social class, personality type, and gender but also holds a special meaning in advertising circles
as well. To advertisers, stereotyping has become an effective means to pitch their products according
to the personality profiles they have concocted for us and are most times eerily accurate. For instance,
according to advertisers, the daytime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Believers are people who support traditional codes of family, church, and community, wearing
good Republican cloth coats. These are predictable people who wear and recognize brand names. The
Achievers are not only successful, but they demonstrate their success by buying objects such as
prestige cars to show it. The Strivers are usually a little unsure of themselves. They are willing to buy
brands as long as it is a prestigious name brand. According to Twitchell, Money defines their success
but they don t have enough of it (Twitchell). The Experiencers live life on the edge. They are
enthusiastic, impulsive, and even a little reckless sometimes. The Makers are practical people. They
are conservative, suspicious, and respectful. The Strugglers are usually chronically poor people who
enjoy materialism whenever they can afford it. It s amazing yet spooky how the advertising industry
can categorize us into these stereotypical profiles so accurately just by watching our behaviors,
observing our lifestyles, ascertaining our disposable income, and studying our set of values. Is our
buying pattern really connected to the things we believe in and what we do for a living? Whether we
are consciously aware of it or not, it is personally amazing just how much a simple purchase can
reveal about am individual to marketing research strategists. Little known to the public is just how far

God, God And The Creator Of The Earth And Living Things
The definition of the word religion is known as the belief or worship of a superior power, which can
be known as God. God plays a major role within many different religions. However, religions with
similar beliefs can differ in numerous ways as well. For instance, both the Jewish and Christian
scriptures share a few beliefs in common. Both scriptures identify the belief of one God, who is
almighty and the creator of the earth and living things. Both scriptures express the understanding that
the Earth is God s domain in which God demands that all humans act according to God s
commandments and they will be redeemed in the eyes of the Lord. They also follow the belief that

The Law, also known as the Torah contains the Five Books of Moses. These stories are about God s
creation of the world, and the relationship between God and Israel or God and man. One of the central
points in the Bible s account of the relationship between Israel and God is known as the covenant. The
word covenant can be translated to mean treaty or alliance. For example, in the book of Genesis, God
had promised Noah he would not send another flood to destroy the world. God throughout all of these
stories has a personal name, represented in Hebrew by four consonants: YHWH. Since there are no
vowels, no one is certain on how to pronounce it. Many Jews consider the name too sacred to
pronounce. In the Ten Commandments it even states that God s name should never be taken in vain.
Most modern Jews today when reading the Tanakh substitute the word Adonai for YHWH. Compared
to the Christian scriptures, Judaism does not believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. Judaism follows
the beliefs that God is a higher being. Judaism uses its sacred books to understand the teachings of
God and what he requires of all of his people. For Christianity, the sacred books of Judaism are taken
as a precaution for the divination of God through Christ that is portrayed in the New Testament. The
Christian Bible consists of both the Old and New Testaments. A term known as Gnosticism influenced
many Christianity beliefs. This affected the way that the

Romanticism In Ethan Frome And Frankenstein
Romanticism Lives On
Romanticism, the genre of literature and art that predominated the European world in the eighteenth
century, directs its focus towards ideas of rebellion, individualism, and the natural beauty of the world.
Guiding the spirit of the French Revolution, romanticism introduced Europe to a new set of values that
give more power to the individual and offer a new hope of freedom. Frankenstein, a horror fiction
novel written by Romantic author Mary Shelley, serves as one of the most notable examples of this
literary field. Remarkably, although Romanticism concluded around the late nineteenth century, more
recent novels appear to be influenced by Romantic values. One example of a Romantic themed novel
is Ethan Frome, written by early twentieth century author Edith Wharton. The protagonist of the story,
Ethan, becomes trapped in the tensions created by the opposing forces of desires and morality.
Although these two novels were written almost one hundred years apart, Ethan Frome and
Frankenstein contain similar aspects of Romanticism in the way that both novels address the forces of
nature and emotions. One major aspect of Romanticism is the obsession of nature. Many Romantic
texts convey nature as a healer and harbinger of supernatural events. Mary Shelley throughout
Frankenstein addresses nature as a mysterious and unconquerable entity, as the main character, Victor,
holds a fervent longing to penetrate [its] secrets (Shelley 21). The main character, Victor,

Feminism In Gimba Kakanda s A Letter To My Unborn Daughter
In A Letter to My Unborn Daughter, Gimba Kakanda writes, Sweetheart: This letter is a betrayal of
my previous convictions, and an apology for actually allowing a society of chauvinists to train my
mind into agreeing that the womenfolk are indeed inferior, merely created from our ribs to be chained
into marital slavery. Feminism, as evinced in Kakanda s letter, is a particularly urgent issue in the
genre of world literature. In countries with a history of colonialism, those who are able to speak and
who they speak for are vitally important questions. In fact, many parallels exist between the
colonialism and the oppression of women: language, participation, and land. Because of the inherent
connection postcolonialism and feminism, many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To legitimize their claims to ownership of other countries, the colonists used anthropological theories
which increasingly portrayed the peoples of the colonized world as inferior, childlike, or feminine,
incapable of looking after themselves ... and requiring the paternal rule of the west. In fact, the
practice of describing race in gendered terms emphasized the masculinity of colonizers, while
effeminizing the native peoples. This tactic was used in colonial India when the British officials
attempted to pass the Ilbert Bill. This legislation emphasized the stereotypes of the manly Englishman
and the effeminate Bengali babun in order to argue that Indian subjects were not able to competently
decide the fate of Englishmen in criminal cases. In this case, white, British women defended the
Bengalis right and ability to decide legal outcomes. These women, like the Bengali men, were
disqualified from playing an active part in politics. Recognizing their commonality in situation, the
women stood up for the Bengali men and protested the Ilbert Bill.
However, colonist women were not always allies to the native peoples. Postcolonial feminist literature
often uncovers and describes their participation in the system of colonization. The writers of

Agriculture In The 1920 s Essay
Changes in Agricultural Technology in the 1920s 1930s The turn of the century was perhaps one of the
most interesting times in the agricultural scene of America. The turn from the 1800s to the 1900s
sparked a technological revolution that extended not just to urban environments, but to rural areas and
farmers. Farmers found the majority of this revolution in the 1920s and 1930s, a time when machinery
was revitalized in order to make the farming industry easier. Before this time, farmers will still using
horses to do their farm work, so the introduction of machines was absolutely life changing for the
farming industry. Prior to the 1920s, Farmers were limited by the resources that they had in order to
do their work. Farmhands and horses were used to do all of the work on the farm, which meant that

ground, were now mounted directly to the tractor instead of being pulled by horses. Previously, this
was done with five horses and took over ninety minutes to do half an acre of land. With tractors, this
could reduce the time to fifteen minutes. New planters became better at dispensing seeds swiftly and

Georges-Pierre Seurat Essay
During his short life, Georges Pierre Seurat was an innovator in an age of innovators in the field of art.
This french painter was a leader in a movement called neo impressionist in the late 19th century.
Unlike the broad brushstrokes of the impressionist, Seurat developed a technique called pointillism or
divisionism. In this method, he used small dots or strokes of contrasting color to create the subtle
changes contained within the painting. Seurat was an art scientist in that he spent much of his life,
searching for how different colors and linear effects would change the look or texture of a canvas. He
was painstaking in his work, the technique he chose taking much longer to produce a work of art.
Pointillism is a form of painting in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually when colors are produced by pigments being mixed physically, the subtractive color theory is
at work. Here the mixing of pigments of the primary colours produces less light; so if we mix red, blue
and yellow pigments(subtractive primaries), we get a colour close to black. However when colours are
produced by the mixing of light, then the additive color theory is at work. Here the mixing of lights of
the three primary colours produces more light; so if we mix red, blue and green light(additive
primaries) we get something close to white light. The brighter effect of pointillist colours could rise
from the fact that subtractive mixing is avoided and something closer to the effect of additive mixing
is obtained even through pigments (Pointillism)
The brushwork used to perform pointillistic color mixing is at the expense of traditional brushwork
which could be used to delineate texture. Color television receivers and computer screens, both CRT
and LCD, use tiny dots of primary red, green, and blue to render color, and can thus be regarded as a
kind of pointillism (Pointillism).
Impressionism is a movement in French painting, sometimes called optical realism because of its
almost scientific interest in the actual visual experience and effect of light and movement on
appearance of objects (Impressionism). Neoimpressionism was a late 19th century art movement led

Data Analysis Lab Report
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to understand data analysis through measuring and
calculating different values. These values include length, diameter, circumference, volume, and the
percent error.
Introduction:
This experiment helps students understand data analysis such as units, conversions, error types and
calculation, accuracy, and precision by requiring the students to measure a pipe using calipers, string,
and a meter stick. This also teaches about uncertainty in measurement and the rules used to analyze
measurements. These lessons are crucial to physics as well as other mathematics and science courses.

The outer diameter (D_o±∆D_o) was measured and was 60.64 mm ± 0.01 mm. The inner diameter
(D_i±∆D_i) was measured to be 52.19 mm ± 0.01 mm. These values were measured with the calipers.
The pipe thickness (T_p=(D_o D_i)÷2) was calculated to be 4.225. The circumference (C±∆C) was
measured with string and a meter stick and found to be 193 mm ± 1 mm. Pi (π=C/D) was found to
have an experimental value of 3.183. The uncertainty for π was then calculated by finding the
fractional uncertainty of the circumference (δπ_e=√(〖(δC)〗^2+〖(δD)〗^2 )). This was found to be
0.0052. The equation ∆π_(e=) δπ_e*π_e was then used to find the accurate fractional uncertainty since
fractional uncertainty is equal to the measurement uncertainty divided by the measured value wich can
be found using the previous equation. This value was calculated to be 0.0166, so the experimental
value for π is 3.183 ± 0.0166. Percent error (% error =|(measured accepted)/accepted|*100%) was then
calculated to be 1.4% making the results

performance. Thor for example, Chris Hemsworth, a masculine white male that clearly represent the
physical appearance of a God. Moreover, Hemsworth s acting shows he s dominance as the heir of
Asgard who will later be crowned as the King. For instance, in the scene when Loki tries to talk to
Heimdall, Thor takes over the conversation by saying, Enough . At this moment, the character
blocking also tells the audience who is dominating the conversation and it is Thor. At first he stands

The golden armor shows his almighty power of the guardian that keep safe of Asgard, preventing any
threats from entering from other plantets. Unlike any other characters, one can tell that Heimdall s
costumes has the greatest protection among all. Furthermore, Thor who s costume shows he s power
among he s friends and brother. Being as the only character with a red cape, this shows he s class is
higher than any others. Moreover, the viewers can tell from his armor he is a warrior, who is fearless.
Because comparing to Loki s costume, he isn t wearing any armor that can protect him. This means
Loki is more likely to be a character who uses his brain and tongue more than waving a sword.
However, in this scene we can tell from both of his acting and his costume, Loki fails to do

Summary Of My Father s Prostitute By Steven Whitacre

Intro to Psych
11/6/17
Book Analysis: My Father s prostitute My Father s Prostitute by Steven Whitacre, is an honest and
chilling book about an innocent boy s struggle from child to adulthood. When reading this book, I
found myself completely shocked and interested at the same time. It was different to read a book from
the authors life and I think that is what made it that much more interesting. My Father s Prostitute is a
book about a child s struggle, that leads into adulthood. When Steven was about four years old,
something had happened that would change his life forever. After his dad suggested to play , Steven
was sexually abused by his own father. Thinking this was normal, Steven kept on ... Show more

During the book, Steven talks about his depression because of the traumatic experiences with his
father. When Steven says, At this point, my depression really kicked in (pg. 45). This is because his
hippocampus has shrunk. It has been researched, that people that have major depression, have a
shrunken hippocampus. The longer Steven has been depressed, results in his hippocampus getting
smaller and loses the ability to work correctly. In addition to the hippocampus, the amygdala has a role
in depressive behavior as well. The amygdala forms part of the limbic system and is a set of neurons
that are shown to play a major role in the processing of emotions. The amygdala is a part of the brain
that has a direct correlation to depression and oversees evaluating the emotional significance of
different kinds of stimuli. For example, the amygdala is overly active in people with depression when
you show them sad stimuli, and is under active when shown positive things like rewards. This part of
the brain also organizes the emotional experience in expression. What this means is that it organizes
endocrine response to stress and threats. The more depressed a person is, the more their amygdala
must act. The DLPFC, stands for dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, and is the latest part of the brain to
form in humans and other mammals. This part of the brain also has a lot to do with major depressive

Characteristics Of Mrs Dalloway
1. The (American spelling) focalizer in the selection you read from Mrs. Dalloway changes at least
eight times. Time also moves forward when the focalizer changes. How does Woolf create those
changes? What leads us from one focalizer to another? Find three examples. Woolf uses multiple
focalizers in Mrs. Dalloway to create a new point of view in the story. Woolf indicates these changes
through subtle transitions that are hardly noticed at, as the story shifts to another viewpoint of a
character. Sometimes we are lead between focalizers in ways, such as at the beginning of Mrs.
Dalloway when Clarissa begins to transition into the past reminiscing. This is shown through subtle
changes in tense that Woolf uses, as she switches from present ... Show more content on

One issues that was mentioned in the historical material was the idea of sexuality, as it stated
Sexuality of all stripes was on trial (1936). Homosexuality was something not yet discussed openly at
this time, so it was a new concept for sexuality to be talked about in literature. Woolf was more open
about sexuality in Mrs. Dalloway and it was mentioned about Clarissa Dalloway s daughter, Elizabeth.
Mrs. Dalloway comments that her daughter is fond of two things, her dog and Miss Kilman. Mrs.
Dalloway suspects that Elizabeth has feelings for Miss Kilman, though Mr. Dalloway thinks it to be
only a phase (2343). Mrs. Dalloway feels that it is more than a phase and says It might be falling in
love (2343). In the end of this discussion, Mrs. Dalloway concludes she would have loved Miss
Kilman! But not in this world. No. (2343). This line signifies a lot about the issue and thoughts about
homosexuality and sexuality in general. Homosexuality was not an accepted idea in society during this
time, though it was becoming talked about more. As in Mrs. Dalloway, sexuality is a taboo subject and
is being put on trial by members of

Success
The accomplishment of an aim or purpose. The attainment of popularity or profit. A person or thing

meaning of successfullness ? I will explain my opinion on success the best I can to my knoledge.
Growing up in California I always saw my parents work non stop. Always working on their goal to

The And Its Effects On America
Over the last few years, podcasting has continued to grow in both audience and programming.
However, most of those listening to the podcasts are in the minority of the American public and about
half of the country hasn t even heard of the term podcasting and they don t know what it means. Those
that produce podcasts have continued to try and experiment with different revenue streams throughout
the year and some have moved beyond the standard method of downloading to get people to listen.
Podcast Listenership

growing percentage of Americans that are now listening to podcasts. As of 2016, 21% of Americans
age 12 or older say that they have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a matter of fact, according to Edison Research data conducted in 2015, only about 2% of all audio
listening is spent listening to podcasts. As a comparison, about 54% of that time is spent listening to
both AM and FM radio.
Familiarity With Podcasting
Despite the fact that overall listenership of podcasts is on the rise, there is one factor that could be
standing in the way of it experiencing huge growth in the United States. In 2015, only about half of all
Americans age 12 or older said that they were familiar with the term podcasting , a number that has
remained relatively unchanged over the years.
Podcast Hosting And Downloads
Due to the fact that podcasts can be downloaded and created from just about anywhere, there really is
no way to know or get an estimate regarding how many podcasts have been produced in the United
States, including those focusing on news and public affairs. Luckily, there is publicly available data
from Libsyn, one of the largest commercial podcast hosting companies, which continues to indicate
there is an upward trend in both the number of downloads and the number of podcasts hosted over the
last four years. In 2015, the company alone hosted 28,000 shows, which is a big increase over the
22,000 shows in 2014 and the 16,000 shows hosted in 2013.
Additionally, Libsyn reported a large increase in the number of download requests made in 2015. In
2015, Libsyn received about 3.3 billion requests for downloads, which was up from 2.6

What Is The Porter s Five Forces Of The Beer Industry
Abstract: The beer industry in the United States is continually changing and therefore companies in
this industry must be versatile. Their versatility comes in a variety of forms, from changing their
product offering, to changing their strategic goals, and finally, recognizing opportunities and threats.
This paper explores many aspects of the industry though the use of Porter s five forces model. I will
analyze the internal rivalry present in the industry, any buyer or supplier power that is present, entry
barriers that exist, and any substitutes and threats that face the industry. Furthermore, I will closely
analyze the effect that craft brewers and microbreweries have had on the industry. It is my contention

respectively.3 Anheuser Busch outperforms the industry and the S P 500 on many other levels as well.
Anheuser Busch currently enjoys a net income growth rate of 10.5% over the last three years while the
industry lags at 7.5%. The S P 500 experienced a negative growth rate for the last three years.
Anheuser Busch also enjoys larger profit margins than the industry and the S P 500. Financial
information not covered in this portion of this paper is provided by Valueline in the Appendix under
table 3.
Anheuser Busch obviously outperforms the industry and the S P 500 in most facets of the market
place. Its sales, currently above $16 billion, are unmatched in the industry. It has continued to be
innovative in all the businesses they own, which is made apparent later in this paper. This has allowed
them to grow faster than competitors and stay ahead of the pack by large margins. Anheuser Busch is
the benchmark around which this paper is built.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). (aids.gov) AIDS is an incurable progressive disease that

pg. 431) A healthy adult has a CD4 T cell count of 1,000 or more but a person suffering from HIV
could have a count lower than 200. CD4 T cells are crucial to the immune system; without them the
immune system would not have the ability to fight off infections. One of the disquieting facts about
AIDS is that the infected person may be asymptomatic for years. If the infected person does begin to
experience signs and symptoms, their initial complaints are usually fever, rigors, arthralgia (joint
pain), myalgia (muscle pain), maculopapular rash, urticaria (hives), abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.

1860-1877 Revolution Due to Social Developments
Throughout American history, many have worked to make constitutional and social equality for all

to the economic rivalry between the industrial North and the agricultural South and the pivotal gap

Nella Larsen s Passing challenges the traditional ideology of ethnic, racial, and gender integrity,
transforming the concept of an acceptable definition of identity, which both individuals and society
can appreciate. By developing exceptionally round characters whom are unstable and volatile, Larsen

stereotypes, society has ascribed to her. Leaving her in a limbo for identity white or black, however,
she never has the chance to align to a particular identity because of her mysterious death, while Irene

In the early twentieth century, before the war began, the role of women was already changing
drastically. Women were working more, gaining a better education and having fewer children. Then,
during the war, women played a crucial role in aiding the war efforts. One way women assisted in the
war was moving into jobs that were previously vacated by men who were drafted into the war. Women
also assisted in munitions factories. These are factories that make war materials. Women could have
sewed uniforms or helped make weapons. These factories were the number one employer for women
during 1918. After the introduction of conscription in 1916 women began to work in jobs that were
traditional reserved for men. Employment rates for women during World War I went up from 23.6%
(1914) to 46.7% (1918). Because the population of women in America benefited the war efforts
greatly, in 1918, the women s suffrage amendment was passed in senate with the necessary 2/3 votes.
America s involvement in the Great War led directly to the passing of the 19th amendment, granting
women the right to vote.

Cloud Computing Essay
The integration of mobile devices with our daily life (e.g., smart phones, smart watches, tablets, etc.)
has eliminated the location and timing restrictions on access to variety of services such as social

and storage) and the need to global scalability of services have motivated companies to rely on cloud
computing. Cloud computing has created a new paradigm for mobile applications where computations
and storage have migrated to centralized computing platforms in the cloud. Cloud providers such as

Driven by the fundamental problems encountered due to identification and location conflation
problem in IP networks and inefficiency of TCP for intermittent links, we propose a simple yet
effective solution to provide access to advanced services for vehicular nodes with varying link
conditions. To address aforementioned issues, we leverage cloud resources to design and develop a
framework for connected vehicles. This scalable, mobility centric solution, through network
abstractions and clustering schemes with high resilience against failure, can provide seamless
connectivity, global reachability, and enhanced connection for vehicular nodes with high dynamicity
and possibly no direct association to an access point. This is followed up by the introduction of the
MobilityFirst architecture which supports seamless mobility of nodes in network layer. The named
service layer in MobilityFirst is supported by network abstractions in the form of globally available
cloud services. The distributed global name resolution service (GNRS) along with efficient vehicular
clustering provides the opportunity to enable scalable services and allow seamless connectivity. The
proposed scheme, called FastMF, assign to clusters of vehicles unique names that are independent
from location of the clusters and the interfaces. The vehicular clusters maintain tree structures that
improve performance over conventional clusters and reduce

Debating Obamacare
Debating Obamacare Debating Obamacare Introduction: In June 2012, Time Magazine published a
special reports/issue regarding Chief Justice John Roberts and Obamacare. Justice Roberts mediated
and ruled over the issue of healthcare in a situation where the Supreme Court vote was deadlocked.
The issue features articles describing the political and social context in which Roberts made his

citizens of the United States of America. Roberts firmly defends his positions, standing up to
Republicans and Democrats alike, to the amazement of many, Roberts cedes to neither side and yet

The research paper will also include the flaws with authoritarian society rules and the importance of
rebellion if the authoritarian rules affect us negatively. In the story, the head nurse Nurse Ratched has
an authoritarian rule system already established. This system suppresses the patient s freedom; her
rules force them to conform to avoid the consequences if they do not. The protagonist Randle Patrick

This could prove to be an underlying downfall because if Want ultimately fails after concentrating
their effort for growth, the Moffats could suffer with two unstable businesses.
Decision Criteria 1. Increasing sales to a level that ensures long term success 2. Maintaining flexible
production capacity and inventory levels 3. Increasing brand awareness among target market 4. Stay
aligned with goals of corporate social responsibility
Internal Analysis:
Strengths
Want successfully differentiates itself from its competitors through features such as taste, design, and
packaging. Want s relationship with its bottle manufacturer is an intangible benefit. They provide
Want with the opportunity to produce low volume quantities, given their current cash flow situation,
and allow flexible scheduling resulting in shorter lead time. Want has built a socially responsible
image by its charitable donations to action sports in local communities; an activity that no other
energy drink competitors offer. Another strength is the Moffats experience with their target market and
background in marketing and distribution, which was developed through their business with

Dyslexia Is A Learning Disability
Dyslexia is a learning disability in which people have difficulty reading, writing, and even in subjects
such a math and music. In my case, I found that subjects such as reading and writing were harder for
me compared to other kids my age. I was half way through my fourth grade year when I was
diagnosed with dyslexia. While at first this was something I hated about myself. Now being dyslexic
is something that makes me who I am today, and this is something I should never be ashamed of.
By the time I was in 1st grade all of my friends were learning to read and write, while I tried my
hardest to just get by. Yet after every single spelling test I would receive a failing grade or a barely
passing grade, and for me this was abnormal as I was a straight A student in everything else. While my
grades continued to fall, my mom started to believe that I was just not trying hard enough. For the next
three years, my mother started tutoring me every day after school. Each and every day after school my
mother would make me write my spelling words ten times each, and when that did not make any
change, I began to study ever single moment of the day. Sometimes I even studied in the shower, but
sadly I was still falling behind in certain subjects. This persisted on for three more years, when I was
in 3rd grade when my mom finally gave up with the school I was at and sent me to one that she
believed had a better education system.
At my new school the teachers where very similar as they

The Art And Reflection Of The Red Room
The rich raspberry red blanketed over the canvas is more than enough to entice it s viewers. The Red
Room, made by Henri Matisse in 1908 is and has been a highly popular piece of artwork. The art
piece captured what it meant to be a fauvist artist with its bright colors and unrealistic appearance.
Matisse and other fauvist artists decided to go against what society decided was normal at the time and
succeeded. My recreation of the Red Room uses the same intensity of color, line, shape, form, texture,
space, unity, balance, contrast, emphasis, rhythm, and proportion to represent the greatly valued art
piece. The Red Room is an oil on canvas artwork that is exceedingly two dimensional while still
showing examples of space. The art portrays a woman setting up a table within a highly saturated red
room. The table and the wall paper are almost indistinguishable if it weren t for the thin wobbly line
that differentiated them. A blue branch like pattern spans from the bottom of the canvas to the top
while staying in the range of the table and wall. Also part of the pattern are vases of flowers that are
additionally outlined in black. On the table are various circular fruits, mainly in the color yellow,
green, orange, and red. Beside the fruit are long round bottomed vases that are half full of some sort of
elixir. The fruit and vases were common to see in Matisse s work during that period, Matisse turned to
a motif common in the works created that year: a room decorated with

The Portrayal of Differences in Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw...
Examine the portrayal of difference (e.g physical limitations, mental illness, race, class, or sexual
identity) in at least two literary works you have studied.
It can be noted that throughout both texts difference can be found portrayed in different ways. The
texts I will be focussing on are Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw and The Handmaids Tale by Margaret
Atwood. Whether it be the difference in class between Eliza Doolittle her father and her mentors Mr
Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering or in the case of the Handmaids tale of Offred status in class in
comparison to the Commander and his wife. Difference can also be noticed by the different
occupations and titles denoted by people in the different texts such as doctor and commander . This
essay shall also explore how noticeable the differences are of Eliza, before she became a lady and how
the difference between the normal life and now the Gilead regime. Of the three questions offered I felt
that this one in particular stood out as having the most links between each other with the portrayal of
difference in both texts being noticeable.
The difference in class is particularly apparent in The Handmaids Tale in which people are denoted by
colours according to their rankings. In the case of Offred she is denoted by dressing all in red to
recognise her fertility and ripeness. However Offred also sees this as a connotation of blood,
sometimes being something of a life force for her, yet also associating it with violence and

The Importance Of Emerging Adulthood
Emerging Adulthood is a phase of a human s lifetime between adolescence and full fledged adulthood.
The age range for this group is approximately 18 25 years old. Emerging adults are not fully ready to
take on adult responsibilities, but are expected to step up from childhood. This allows for new
experiences, enrolling into college, understanding one s own sexual identity, and to seek out what
future they want for themself. Most emerging adults will move out from their parents home to get
their own apartment, dorm, or house and will usually have roommates to help pay for their rent.
Jeffery Arnett suggests, that emerging adulthood is a distinct period demographically, subjectively, and
in terms of identity explorations (Arnett, 2000, pg. 469). This allows the individual to get
independence and self reliability within themselves to get an idea of what it will be like to be living as
an adult in the later years to come. After living on their own, many young adults will move back in
with their parents after college or if they were not successful living on their own.
According to Arnett, during Emerging Adulthood, young people are in the process of developing the
capacities, skills, and qualities of character deemed by their cultures as necessary for completing the
transition to adulthood (Arnett, 1998, p. 312). The majority of Americans see big life events as
reaching and achieving adulthood. It is portrayed that those who have succeeded these events are more

  • 2. The Importance Of A Sound Experiment For The Uk... network code, as well as any SMS messages, and much more useful information. I. How to Perform a Sound Experiment There is a guideline proposed by the UK Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) that defines some rules for the handling of digital evidence [10]. The device must be kept separate from the network, and the investigation process should be properly planned. The functionality of the tool or software must be known also for having a secure wireless connection with device in order not to delete any information while running it [4]. A dummyrun approach can be used with same type of device under investigation. The device must be seized and analyzed by well trained persons. In Subscriber Identity Module Analysis law enforcement collects the network and user data through various types of SIM. Integrated Circuit Card ID (ICCID, International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI), Mobile Country Code (MCC), Mobile Network Code (MNC), Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number (MSISDN) and Abbreviated Dialing Numbers (ADN) analysis is performed on SIM. Using forensics software and sophisticated tools which can retrieve data logically or directly from a mobile device can result in valuable evidence. The growing industry of mobile phones is creating a challenge for forensics investigators to be able to extract evidence at all even when using different tools. His family had originally emigrated from Scotland where they spelled their last name Cant. Emmanuel s family was quite large by today s standards consisting of nine children, he was the fourth born and only one of four to make it to adulthood. He and his siblings grew up in a Pietist house, the focus of Pietism was the literal study of the bible. Their childhood was a strict and punitive one that stressed religious teachings over the sciences and mathematics. After learning Hebrew, Emmanuel changed his name to Immanuel. While attending the Collegium Fridericianum was a good student, Immanuel improved his studies and eventually enrolled at the University of Kongsberg by age 16 in 1740. It is there that he taught about the great philosophers Leibniz and Wolff by a rationalist Martin Knutzen. It is also here where Kant was exposed to the mathematical physics of Sir Isaac Newton. The Charismatic approach is measured to reflect a particular kind of leader. They are usually strong self confident individuals that portray competency. Their followers tend to mimic the goals and leadership style of the charismatic leader. They are gifted in articulating their ideas, plans and goals to others while creating an ambiance that says, do as I do. They can articulate a compelling or captivating vision and can arouse strong emotions in followers. It provides information about biblical leadership such as David, Jesus, and Paul whose leadership approach is charismatic and remains effective today in many churches. It further talks about the charismatic approaches of men like Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy, Barak Obama who swept the nation off their feet because of the resounding eloquent speeches that many young and old now recite and hold true to their hearts. Moreover, this paper speaks about some twenty first century charismatic leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr., Barak Obama, and Bill Clinton. Details are provided to show that Charisma is a process, which links the traits of the charismatic leader to a VABES while influencing others to follow their way of thinking when using a burst of energy. Are Charismatic Leaders Born or Made? First and foremost, charisma in the Greek means divinely inspired gifts, only God can give these kinds of gifts. Because high self confidence and strong conviction in one s beliefs is a given factor for the charismatic leader, I argue that they are born, with leadership abilities that require development and ... • 9. Background of the NBA Lockout Introduction The middle ground argument is where by the positive and negative sides of a topic are looked at, carefully discussed and a middle or neutral position is taken for the two contrasting sides (Jasinski, 2006). In any contentious issue the person analyzing the situation should look at both sides of the issue. After critical analysis they can then state their stand which will favor neither side. Background The NBA lockout that was experienced in 2011 was the fourth lockout to have been experienced in the history of NBA. The lock out began on expiring of the collective bargaining agreement that had been made in 2006. The lockout lasted one hundred and sixty one days (CACCIOLA, 2011). The crucial issues that brought about the lockout that resulted from the disagreement of owners and players represented by National Basketball Players Association were the salary cap structure, the luxury tax and the way revenue was to be divided. When the lockout took place there was no trading by teams, no new signings and absolutely no contact with the players. After consecutive meetings, there was an agreement reached and a tentative deal made which was later ratified. The real gist of the lockout was the ratio of the revenue that each side was to take home from the total $4 billion. The players indicated that they were ready to concede on the salary issued but wanted a significant share of the revenue. On the other side, the owners indicated that they had and were still ... • 10. Evolution Of Rap During The 80 s The evolution of rap during the 80 s, 90 s and 2000 s until now. Introduction: What is rap? Rap is defined in the dictionary as: a style of popular music, developed by disc jockeys and urban blacks in the late 1970s, in which an insistent, recurring beat pattern provides the background and counterpoint for rapid, slangy, and often boastful rhyming patter glibly intoned by a vocalist or vocalists. Which implies that rap is defined by its fast, narcissistic, aggressive, and rhyming lyrics. Simply said rap is talking slightly faster than usual often accompanied by music. Rap originated in ghettos where youth had to deal with gangs, drugs, murders, rape, and racial profiling by the police. This is why rap lyrics are often about violence, drugs, money and sex, which was very controversial and often protested by parents and politicians. • 12. What We Are Advertisers By James Twitchell Advertising has come a long way in terms of advancement with the enlightenment of the new technological age we live in now. In James Twitchell s essay What We Are to Advertisers, the author explains that mass production means mass marketing, and mass marketing means the creation of mass stereotypes. Generally, the use of stereotypical profiling in our society not only exists in regards to race, social class, personality type, and gender but also holds a special meaning in advertising circles as well. To advertisers, stereotyping has become an effective means to pitch their products according to the personality profiles they have concocted for us and are most times eerily accurate. God plays a major role within many different religions. However, religions with similar beliefs can differ in numerous ways as well. For instance, both the Jewish and Christian scriptures share a few beliefs in common. Both scriptures identify the belief of one God, who is almighty and the creator of the earth and living things. One of the central points in the Bible s account of the relationship between Israel and God is known as the covenant. The word covenant can be translated to mean treaty or alliance. For example, in the book of Genesis, God had promised Noah he would not send another flood to destroy the world. God throughout all of these stories has a personal name, represented in Hebrew by four consonants: YHWH. Since there are no vowels, no one is certain on how to pronounce it. Many Jews consider the name too sacred to pronounce. In the Ten Commandments it even states that God s name should never be taken in vain. Most modern Jews today when reading the Tanakh substitute the word Adonai for YHWH. Compared to the Christian scriptures, Judaism does not believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. Judaism follows the beliefs that God is a higher being. Judaism uses its sacred books to understand the teachings of God and what he requires of all of his people. • 14. Romanticism In Ethan Frome And Frankenstein Romanticism Lives On Romanticism, the genre of literature and art that predominated the European world in the eighteenth century, directs its focus towards ideas of rebellion, individualism, and the natural beauty of the world. Guiding the spirit of the French Revolution, romanticism introduced Europe to a new set of values that give more power to the individual and offer a new hope of freedom. Frankenstein, a horror fiction novel written by Romantic author Mary Shelley, serves as one of the most notable examples of this literary field. Remarkably, although Romanticism concluded around the late nineteenth century, more recent novels appear to be influenced by Romantic values. One example of a Romantic themed novel is Ethan Frome, written by early twentieth century author Edith Wharton. The protagonist of the story, Ethan, becomes trapped in the tensions created by the opposing forces of desires and morality. Although these two novels were written almost one hundred years apart, Ethan Frome and Frankenstein contain similar aspects of Romanticism in the way that both novels address the forces of nature and emotions. One major aspect of Romanticism is the obsession of nature. Many Romantic texts convey nature as a healer and harbinger of supernatural events. Mary Shelley throughout Frankenstein addresses nature as a mysterious and unconquerable entity, as the main character, Victor, holds a fervent longing to penetrate [its] secrets (Shelley 21). This french painter was a leader in a movement called neo impressionist in the late 19th century. Unlike the broad brushstrokes of the impressionist, Seurat developed a technique called pointillism or divisionism. In this method, he used small dots or strokes of contrasting color to create the subtle changes contained within the painting. Seurat was an art scientist in that he spent much of his life, searching for how different colors and linear effects would change the look or texture of a canvas. Usually when colors are produced by pigments being mixed physically, the subtractive color theory is at work. Here the mixing of pigments of the primary colours produces less light; so if we mix red, blue and yellow pigments(subtractive primaries), we get a colour close to black. However when colours are produced by the mixing of light, then the additive color theory is at work. Here the mixing of lights of the three primary colours produces more light; so if we mix red, blue and green light(additive primaries) we get something close to white light. The brighter effect of pointillist colours could rise from the fact that subtractive mixing is avoided and something closer to the effect of additive mixing is obtained even through pigments (Pointillism) The brushwork used to perform pointillistic color mixing is at the expense of traditional brushwork which could be used to delineate texture. Color television receivers and computer screens, both CRT and LCD, use tiny dots of primary red, green, and blue to render color, and can thus be regarded as a kind of pointillism (Pointillism). The pipe thickness (T_p=(D_o D_i)÷2) was calculated to be 4.225. The circumference (C±∆C) was measured with string and a meter stick and found to be 193 mm ± 1 mm. Pi (π=C/D) was found to have an experimental value of 3.183. The uncertainty for π was then calculated by finding the fractional uncertainty of the circumference (δπ_e=√(〖(δC)〗^2+〖(δD)〗^2 )). This was found to be 0.0052. The equation ∆π_(e=) δπ_e*π_e was then used to find the accurate fractional uncertainty since fractional uncertainty is equal to the measurement uncertainty divided by the measured value wich can be found using the previous equation. (Healthy Living, pg. 79) If left untreated this virus can turn into AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). AIDS is the final stage of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). (aids.gov) AIDS is an incurable progressive disease that causes gradual destruction of CD4 T cells by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). (Diseases, pg. 431) A healthy adult has a CD4 T cell count of 1,000 or more but a person suffering from HIV could have a count lower than 200. CD4 T cells are crucial to the immune system; without them the immune system would not have the ability to fight off infections. One of the disquieting facts about AIDS is that the infected person may be asymptomatic for years. If the infected person does begin to experience signs and symptoms, their initial complaints are usually fever, rigors, arthralgia (joint pain), myalgia (muscle pain), maculopapular rash, urticaria (hives), abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. (Diseases, pg. 432) Fatigue, anorexia, weight loss, night sweats, mental deterioration, persistent cough, visual disturbances, intestinal inflammation, thick, white crust covering the inside of the mouth, sores in the mouth, anus, or nose, and sometimes dyspnea are among symptoms that often come along with AIDS. Between 1860 and 1877, America had gone through civil war and reconstruction, from destructive to constructive. Hence, there had been many factors that attributed to constitutional and social developments in America history, but the main reasons for the change could attribute to the economic rivalry between the industrial North and the agricultural South and the pivotal gap concerning slavery and the political reconstruction. Clare Kendry, challenges the stereotypes, society has ascribed to her. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the early twentieth century, before the war began, the role of women was already changing drastically. Women were working more, gaining a better education and having fewer children. Then, during the war, women played a crucial role in aiding the war efforts. One way women assisted in the war was moving into jobs that were previously vacated by men who were drafted into the war. Women also assisted in munitions factories. These are factories that make war materials. Women could have sewed uniforms or helped make weapons. These factories were the number one employer for women during 1918. After the introduction of conscription in 1916 women began to work in jobs that were traditional reserved for men. Employment rates for women during World War I went up from 23.6% (1914) to 46.7% (1918). Because the population of women in America benefited the war efforts greatly, in 1918, the women s suffrage amendment was passed in senate with the necessary 2/3 votes. America s involvement in the Great War led directly to the passing of the 19th amendment, granting women the right to vote. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Driven by the fundamental problems encountered due to identification and location conflation problem in IP networks and inefficiency of TCP for intermittent links, we propose a simple yet effective solution to provide access to advanced services for vehicular nodes with varying link conditions. To address aforementioned issues, we leverage cloud resources to design and develop a framework for connected vehicles. This scalable, mobility centric solution, through network abstractions and clustering schemes with high resilience against failure, can provide seamless connectivity, global reachability, and enhanced connection for vehicular nodes with high dynamicity and possibly no direct association to an access point. This is followed up by the introduction of the MobilityFirst architecture which supports seamless mobility of nodes in network layer. The named service layer in MobilityFirst is supported by network abstractions in the form of globally available cloud services. The distributed global name resolution service (GNRS) along with efficient vehicular clustering provides the opportunity to enable scalable services and allow seamless connectivity. The proposed scheme, called FastMF, assign to clusters of vehicles unique names that are independent from location of the clusters and the interfaces. The vehicular clusters maintain tree structures that improve performance over conventional clusters and reduce ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In my case, I found that subjects such as reading and writing were harder for me compared to other kids my age. I was half way through my fourth grade year when I was diagnosed with dyslexia. While at first this was something I hated about myself. Now being dyslexic is something that makes me who I am today, and this is something I should never be ashamed of. By the time I was in 1st grade all of my friends were learning to read and write, while I tried my hardest to just get by. Yet after every single spelling test I would receive a failing grade or a barely passing grade, and for me this was abnormal as I was a straight A student in everything else. While my grades continued to fall, my mom started to believe that I was just not trying hard enough. For the next three years, my mother started tutoring me every day after school. Each and every day after school my mother would make me write my spelling words ten times each, and when that did not make any change, I began to study ever single moment of the day. Sometimes I even studied in the shower, but sadly I was still falling behind in certain subjects. This persisted on for three more years, when I was in 3rd grade when my mom finally gave up with the school I was at and sent me to one that she believed had a better education system. The Red Room, made by Henri Matisse in 1908 is and has been a highly popular piece of artwork. The art piece captured what it meant to be a fauvist artist with its bright colors and unrealistic appearance. Matisse and other fauvist artists decided to go against what society decided was normal at the time and succeeded. My recreation of the Red Room uses the same intensity of color, line, shape, form, texture, space, unity, balance, contrast, emphasis, rhythm, and proportion to represent the greatly valued art piece. The Red Room is an oil on canvas artwork that is exceedingly two dimensional while still showing examples of space. The art portrays a woman setting up a table within a highly saturated red room. The table and the wall paper are almost indistinguishable if it weren t for the thin wobbly line that differentiated them. A blue branch like pattern spans from the bottom of the canvas to the top while staying in the range of the table and wall. Also part of the pattern are vases of flowers that are additionally outlined in black. On the table are various circular fruits, mainly in the color yellow, green, orange, and red. Beside the fruit are long round bottomed vases that are half full of some sort of elixir. Examine the portrayal of difference (e.g physical limitations, mental illness, race, class, or sexual identity) in at least two literary works you have studied. It can be noted that throughout both texts difference can be found portrayed in different ways. The texts I will be focussing on are Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw and The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood. Whether it be the difference in class between Eliza Doolittle her father and her mentors Mr Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering or in the case of the Handmaids tale of Offred status in class in comparison to the Commander and his wife. Difference can also be noticed by the different occupations and titles denoted by people in the different texts such as doctor and commander . This essay shall also explore how noticeable the differences are of Eliza, before she became a lady and how the difference between the normal life and now the Gilead regime. Of the three questions offered I felt that this one in particular stood out as having the most links between each other with the portrayal of difference in both texts being noticeable. The difference in class is particularly apparent in The Handmaids Tale in which people are denoted by colours according to their rankings. In the case of Offred she is denoted by dressing all in red to recognise her fertility and ripeness. • 44. The Importance Of Emerging Adulthood Emerging Adulthood is a phase of a human s lifetime between adolescence and full fledged adulthood. The age range for this group is approximately 18 25 years old. Emerging adults are not fully ready to take on adult responsibilities, but are expected to step up from childhood. This allows for new experiences, enrolling into college, understanding one s own sexual identity, and to seek out what future they want for themself. Most emerging adults will move out from their parents home to get their own apartment, dorm, or house and will usually have roommates to help pay for their rent. Jeffery Arnett suggests, that emerging adulthood is a distinct period demographically, subjectively, and in terms of identity explorations (Arnett, 2000, pg. 469). This allows the individual to get independence and self reliability within themselves to get an idea of what it will be like to be living as an adult in the later years to come. After living on their own, many young adults will move back in with their parents after college or if they were not successful living on their own. According to Arnett, during Emerging Adulthood, young people are in the process of developing the capacities, skills, and qualities of character deemed by their cultures as necessary for completing the transition to adulthood (Arnett, 1998, p. 312). The majority of Americans see big life events as reaching and achieving adulthood. It is portrayed that those who have succeeded these events are more independent, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
