and sisters and may include jealousy, competitions,
physical and verbal fighting (University of Michigan
Health System, 2011).
What? Why? How?
Antagonism between brothers and sisters
May come across into a form of bullying
that leads into violence known as SIBLING ABUSE !
53% of children ages 3 to 17 years old have committed severe
violence against brother and sister (Wiehe, 1998)
1.5% from 75 killings in USA are reported to be sibling killings
(Dawson & Langan, 1994)
In 2014, Illinois, a young 14 years old girl killed her sister
because she felt unappreciated (CNN.com,2014).

  • #2 Richard was a middle child from 3 siblings. He felt being challenged by his elder sister who always score good grades making him struggle to score better than her
  • #3 From infancy until he reached the threshold of manhood, the beatings that Daniel rec from his brother were qualitatively different from ordinary sib fights. Rarely did he and his bro just shove at each other at the back of the car or fight over a toy firetruck
