The Power Of Flattery In King Lear
In the year 1605, the oldest daughter of an elderly man claimed her father was senile and no
longer could make decisions on his own. This daughter believed she should be able to take over
his estate. The younger daughter named Cordell defended her father s sanity and protected her
father s estate and dignity. This sad situation was becoming an issue in 17th Century Britain. This
occurrence could have been the model for one of Shakespeare s most famous plays, King Lear.
Shakespeare s play King Lear showcases the difference between true love and devotion and the
destructive power of false words of love and flattery.
In the beginning of King Lear, we see the cast of main characters King Lear and his three
daughters Cordelia, Goneril, and Regan having a big discussion. King Lear askes his daughters
who loves him the most, whoever can put in words who loves him the most gets most of his
lands, wealth and authority. While Goneril and Regan give lofty exaggerated words on their
loves for their father, Cordelia remains silent. Cordelia refuses to answer the question, this
shocks and angers King Lear since Cordelia is his favorite daughter. The king in his anger
disowns Cordelia and sends her off to be married to the king of France without any dowry. He then
divides his kingdom between the two daughters who flattered him, Goneril and Regan. Brian
Sheerin in his article, Making Use of Nothing: The Sovereignties of King Lear states, King Lear
receives nothing for his potlatch, and

#1 MAKE OBSERVATIONS
Even in middle school biology I learned that the body produced ATP and used it for energy, and I
never thought about what the abbreviation meant. When I learned that ATP was adenosine
triphosphate, which is composed of a modified form of adenine and phosphates, it made me wonder
why there is not chemical energy using the other bases.
#2 ASK QUESTIONS
Why is ATP the most common form of chemical energy rather than CTP, TTP, or GTP?
#3 HYPOTHESIS
Because adenine is a purine and utilizes 2 hydrogen bonds when it is in DNA, it fits better with the
ribose and phosphates.
The body produces an excess of adenine so it is the best choice for a nitrogenous base.
When mRNA is travelling to the ribosome to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
dATP has no purpose other than in DNA replication.
ATP is the most popular source because adenosine has many uses.
ATP is used in kinases, as a source of energy, and can combine with niacin to form NAD.
Guanosine is similar to adenosine, but is rarely used to give up phosphates. The only exception is
in tubulin, which helps with construction of cytoskeletons.
Guanosine is mainly used in G proteins, which help relay hormonal and chemical signals.
Other guanosine molecules mainly help control intercellular traffic and relay signals.
Uridine is mainly used in glycogen synthesis. UTP will bind to a glucose and form a UDP glucose
and a free phosphate, making the glucose more reactive.
UDP is used to help break down the other monosaccharides as well.
CTP is similar to UTP except that instead of helping break down sugar CTP helps to break down
fats.
CDP diacylglycerol and CDP choline are all found in plasma membranes.
ATP is ideal because it is a purine and purine rings give them a wider range of uses.

Essay On Staying In Oakland
Staying in Oakland will be the best solution financially. Oakland has a booming economy that
continues to grow at a rapid pace. Many new companies setting up headquarters in Oakland, such
as Uber, are making the prices of living in Oakland rise higher and higher because many rich
tech people are moving in rapidly. As a result, Oakland is becoming a much nicer place than it
once was. By staying put, the Raiders would benefit from more expensive tickets due to Oakland
becoming a wealthy city. Also, the Raiders fan base in the Alameda County is second to none, as
they have been selling out games for years. This will also help drive up the ticket prices because
there will be lots of demand for the tickets, thus raising the prices even further.... Show more content

By moving there, you will be losing money in the long run. Initially, it will be more profitable
than staying in Oakland because most of the stadium funding will be from the casino tycoons
and tickets for the first season there will be at an all time high. But, after the first season, less
and less people will come to games because the novelty of the Raiders in Vegas will wear off and
Las Vegas isn t a football town. There aren t many true sports fans in Vegas who will come to
every game faithfully like residents of the Alameda County do. A great example of this is when
the Rams moved to Los Angeles last season. Everybody was extremely excited for the Rams
coming to LA and as a result, ticket prices boomed and the Rams were one of the most profitable
teams in the NFL. But, as the season progressed, less and less people went to the games, and the
Rams began to self destruct, firing their coach mid season. So, in the long run the Raiders would
be making more money by not moving to Vegas. Staying in Oakland will be the best thing to do

Cellular Respiration Of Yeast Lab Report
Abstract:
This experiment is to examine, analyze and investigate the affects of pollutants on a simple
organism (yeast) and how the pollutants modify a simple organisms (yeast) rate to carry out
cellular respiration. Cellular respiration is an organism s ability to convert nutrients into energy
(ATP). This experiment is a method of addressing the way pollutants can interfere with an
organism s ability to cellular respire that can negatively affect life in an environment. Different
pollutants (Isopropyl alcohol, vinegar, salt solution (10%), and baking soda solution (5%)) will

Truck Accident Statistics Research Paper
So what are the contributing factors to these frightening truck accident statistics?
o Driver fatigue. Truck drivers are pushing their limits to deliver their goods, driving with little
sleep and an extra load of stress. They re driving faster and pushing the envelope of safety. They
keep less and less distance between themselves and the passenger cars nearby.
o Inexperienced truck drivers who lack training.
o Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
o Driving too fast. Did you know that a mere 10 mph over the speed limit can nearly double the
distance a truck needs to brake safely from 315 feet to 400 feet. In wet weather, those figures
practically double to 720 feet for a full stop.
o Following too closely. The DMV recommends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Comparing Gilgamesh to Genesis
Comparing Gilgamesh to Genesis In both Gilgamesh and Noah and the Flood, man s wickedness
leads to death, destruction, and rebirth all caused by billions of gallons of water sweeping the
earth s surface. The flood in both stories destroys most of mankind. The floods represent rebirth
and a new beginning for mankind, as well as the gods and Gods wrath. In Gilgamesh the gods
decide to destroy mankind by flooding the earth for six days and nights. Utnapishtim is chosen
to build a boat in order to restart mankind after the flood. In the Bible God also decides to flood the
earth due to the increase in wickedness. God chooses Noah to build an ark and store seven pairs of

This quote describes how long God will have the rain go for. It also gives orders to Noah from God
to collect all the animals. Noah and his family are the only ones chosen by God to survive the
massive flood. After living right outside Houston for so many years, the flood in Gilgamesh
seems more realistic because it only rains for 6 days and nights. I can t imagine it raining here for
40 days and nights. God Promises Noah he will never flood the earth again by creating a rainbow.
He describes it by saying:
I now establish My covenant with you and your offspring to come, and with every living thing
that is with you. birds, cattle, and every wild beast as well all that have come out of the ark,
every living thing on earth. I will maintain My covenant with you: never again shall all flesh be
cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth. (Genesis
pg. 174) This is Gods way of letting Noah know that he will never again flood the earth again.
In Gilgamesh, Utnapishtim is chosen to survive the great flood because he too is faithful to his
lord, God Ea. They each prepare for their journey by building a large boat, and bringing with them
two of every animal and their families. Noah s ark is thirty cubits high, and three stories while

hemorrhages are caused by coughing excruciatingly, strong sneezes, and vomiting. Sometimes you
can get the hemorrhage from rubbing your eye too much and getting an object lodged into your
eye. Conjunctivitis has symptoms which includes; redness, increase in tears, discharges that crusts
on the eyelashes over sleep (discharge is usually yellow or green), eyes become itchy, they could

Conjunctivitis is also known as pink eye. Pink eye is caused by viruses, bacterias like gonorrhea

Corneal ulcers symptoms are redness of the eye, excruciating pain, eyes become watery,
discharge coming from the eye, blurry vision, pain when looking directly at lights, eyelids
become swollen, and if the ulcer is large enough then it becomes visible to the naked eye. The
ulcers are mainly caused by bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Although, they can also be

Stoppard s Rosencrantz Essay
Transformation
In Stoppard s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead, the composer s intention is to show part of
the story of Hamlet out of the eyes of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. It Is different to Shakespeare s
Hamlet because of a number of reasons.
A writer will sometimes create a character who is put into the story to provide a contrast or
comparison with the main character. Such a character may be placed into a similar situation as the
main character, but react differently, in order to show how much better or worse he/she is than the
main character. This kind of character is called a foil. In the story Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are

But as Stoppard moves these minor characters to centre stage, their namelessness becomes a
critique of identity.
Stoppard allows the audience to function as critics during the play rather than afterward. By
transplanting characters from a play we already know, Stoppard enlarges our perspective. We can
see beyond the limited view of the characters of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and critique their
situation in the context of our own lives. We can see both heads and tails.
Stoppard didn t take the serious issues of Hamlet quite so seriously. Stoppard s transformation is
more comical and humerous without as many important issues as Hamlet. It generally sticks to a
simple but clever storyline.
The impact of society and cultural influence upon a text s composition is deep and may be viewed
as reflective of the period in which it was created. Separated by several centuries of social change,
turmoil, and general upheaval, the values presented within both these texts are hardly matching.
The decline in recognition of the supernatural as an influence upon humans may be viewed as (at
least partly) responsible for the change in attitudes displayed between the original and transformed
work.
Death is the driving force for the events of the text in Hamlet. Hamlet may be read as a revenge
tragedy and in this, the consideration of the reader is drawn to the plight of Hamlet. He doesn t
despair for his temporal loss, although that may be part of it.

The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In The United States
Poverty rates in the United States are at their highest in the extremely urban and truly rural areas
of the country. However, poverty rates, as measured by the Department of Agriculture s
Economic Research Service, are higher in non metro areas as compared to metropolitan centers.
The demographics of poverty offer insight for future policy considerations to both public
administrators and policy writers beyond the demographics of simply rural versus metro
citizens. For example, in 2016 rural White citizens were half as likely to live in poverty as either
Black or Native American citizens. In addition, a female head of household in a rural area is
nearly eight times as likely to live in poverty as a married couple. Couple these demographics
with the fact that only 46 million citizens live in nonmetro areas roughly 15% of the national
population it is not surprising that rural areas seem to receive less attention by federally elected
officials than urban and suburban areas with few, if any, programs geared specifically to known
problem characteristics. At the county level, poverty as defined by the US government is an
immensely rural problem, with the most remote rural places at the greatest disadvantage. It
would seem obvious that where and how an individual lives would matter in a person s ability to
rise above the poverty level. However, federal policy that addresses poverty is not specific to rural
areas or metropolitan areas an instead is agnostic to

Social Medi A Functional Analysis Approach
In today s society where social media has become an increasingly popular form of communication
for organizations to interact with its public, Amy Reitz, Senior Market Insights Manager at Hewlett
Packard wrote her article Social Media s Function in Organization: a Functional Analysis Approach
while she was an assistant Professor at the University of Northern Colorado. Amy claims that
organizations can function better with an open systems approach to public relationsby employing
social media, allowing for a greater chance at survival than organizations that function as a closed
system(Reitz, 2012, p.41, para.1). Author Amy Reitz took several theories into consideration in the
development of this paper, but ultimately decided that a functional analysis approach best described
that organizations would benefit better as an open systemwith help from using social media. The
main claim the author tries to convey is, organizations can function better with an open systems
approach to public relations by employing social media, allowing for a greater chance at survival
than organizations that function as a closed system (Reitz, 2012, p.41, para.1). The article s main
goal is to suggest that organizations will function better by using social media, which will
ultimately help the organization function better as an open system. The author supports this by
taking into consideration four functions in which social media will help the system of an
organization. These include:

Eucalyptus Trees In The Age Of Miracles
In the novel The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker, there is a main theme of coping with
uncertainty and disaster. All of the characters do this in their own unique ways some through rituals
and other through hope. The eucalyptus tree is abundant in the main character Julia s home town.
The eucalyptus tree is a very familiar symbol for Julia and everyone who lives near her. Instances
involving the eucalyptus are spread throughout the noveland help to solidify the theme of coping
with the disaster and change through familiarity and rituals. The novel The Age of Miracles is
set in California and starts as the earth is experiencing a new slower rotation called The Slowing

The eucalyptus was introduced to California around the 1950 s and was seen as a potential new
lumber and would help save the lumber industry (Walker 1 304). However, it was later
discovered that the tree was not a miracle or a cure for the lumber problems and was not a viable
source of lumber, which was a huge disappointment (Farmer 18 22). Although they eventually
discovered it was not a useful lumber wood it had been planted all over the state and became a
familiar symbol for the people of California (Farmer 18 22). The use of the eucalyptus tree in the
novel parallels the hope and eventual loss of hope that the tree symbolized for the California
lumber industry. Long before the trees eventually start getting sick and dying off, Julia mentions
them around all the major points of the novel. I believe it helps her feel like the changes are not
as serious or permanent as they are and that as long as she can see the trees there is hope of things

Essay On The EU As A Promoter Of Preventative Criminal...
In the article, the EU as a Promoter of Preventative Criminal Justice and the Internal Security
Context, Ester Herlin Karnell argues that the European Union (EU) has drifted from the objectives
of the first implementation of the European Area of Freedom, Security, and Justice (AFSJ). The
AFSJ was originally created to promote general EU values such as human rights. However, Herlin
Karnell states that the broad objectives and focus on ensuring a high level of security have left the
AFSJ to focus solely on security while abandoning freedom and justice.
The author discusses the problems of a blurred distinction of internal and external security. As the
world has become more globalized, complex issues that cross both internal and external ... Show

Three examples are used which show that the broad language used to set up the AFSJ and its focus
on security, have blurred the division between internal and external security. In each of the
examples, money laundering, intelligence, and cybercrime, the EU itself has justified its right to
police these areas using broad definitions in regulations. The author argues that security is too broad
and any situation could be morphed to fit under that large umbrella. Further focus on security
without concern for justice and freedom (the other tenants of the AFSJ) in the author s view, has the
potential to undermine the legitimacy of the union, the system, and the stated goals of justice and
human rights (Herlin Karnell, 2016).
Upon first reading it becomes clear that Herlin Karnell is writing to an audience with a thorough
understanding of the EU and its structure. This results in undefined terms and assumptions about
the bloc as a whole. An individual without a baseline knowledge of the EU would have some
difficulty determining the meaning of some terms and concepts based solely on the writing at
hand. The context of these assumptions is given more justice when we consider that Herlin
Karnell is a professor of law in the Netherlands. An example of undefined terminology that might
bring confusion to the reader is risk based approach and pillar structure found on page 217 (Herlin
Karnell, 2016). These

Indirect Characterization In Simon Elkeles Rules Of...

personality. The protagonist, Carlos Fuentes, is shown to be cultural, arrogant, and obnoxious, but
has a hidden kind side. The reader is shown that Carlos stays true to his Mexican culture through

These particular traits are shown through one main method of indirect characterization, the
thoughts and words of others. Elkeles shows one of Carlos s negative traits by giving the reader a
peek into a secondary character s mind, He [Carlos] is so obnoxious. (p.33). Here it is made
obvious that, in addition to other traits, Carlos is blatantly obnoxious and rude through indirect
characterization. However, later in the story, the same character says to Carlos, You pretty
much succeed in being a jerk most of time, but you ve got potential. (Elkeles p.144). Again, the
author used indirect characterization, specifically the words of other characters, to show Carlos
s personality. Rather than exposing the unpleasant nature of Carlos s character, this time Elkeles
displays the likability of it.. This likability is further enforced in a secondary character s
thoughts near the end of the book, When he [Carlos] played soccer with my brother, and I saw a
glimpse of generosity that he only gifts to the few he thinks are worthy, I knew that what you see
isn t necessarily what you get when it comes to Carlos. (Elkeles p.225). Elkeles, by using indirect

is important part in understanding the model.
Ecology

Chapter 5 How to Get Him to Stay in Love
Now that you have attracted the man of your dreams, it is time to get him to stay in love with
you. There are plenty of stories of people falling out of love for various reasons. This normally
happens when two people don t agree with something, or when the equilibrium of the
relationship is off in some kind of way. You have to ignite the fire back into your relationship by
renewing it sometimes. Do things never done before and trying new stuff. Be innovative and
creative. Take a vacation somewhere to breathe new life into your soul. Buy a videogame and and

Do what s right. Make a list of the things he likes. The key is keeping him turned on. If a man want
to lead, let him lead. If he wants to open the door for you, let him do so. It will make him feel
good knowing that he s making you feel good. There s a popular song by singer Ginuwine called
Keep It Real . He talks about the woman being honest, telling the truth, and saying what s on her
mind and heart. A man can respecta woman who keeps it real . Being real and honest is something
a man can really appreciate and will travel to the ends of the earth to show you that honesty matters.
Go Above and Beyond
Cater to his needs. You don t have to become a slave or anything like that, but rather show the
man that you have his best interest at heart. Men like to be pampered, so if you did this you will
definitely get on his good side. You don t have to be a Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Circus
performer, just accentuate simple things that shows him you care. Understand what he likes and
use this to please him. Go the extra miles. Be flexible and fun in a sense. Show him a little side of
your humor. Let him feel comfortable being around you. It is great if he knows that he can open up
to you. Also, be trusting. Show him that you trust him. Don t judge him, accept him for who he is.

Global Warming and Human Population
Essay on Deforestation in India
Forest loss is directly associated with human population growth. In 1921 human population was
25. 13 crores and forests cover was 104.05 million hectares. By 1989, forests cover reduced to
64.01 m ha, while human population in 1991 reached to 84.39 crores.
Deforestation is due to diversion of forest land to agricultural land, river valley projects, roads,
industiy and urbanization, transmission lines and activities like shifting cultivation, fuelwood and
timber collection overgrazing fires and acid rains (vide Rana, 2006).

Most scientists agree that planet s temperature has risen 0.5 degree Celsius since 1900 and will
continue to increase at an increasing rate. As a result, the world is getting warmer. The year 1990
was the hottest year in the last century.
Together with 1991, the years of 1983, 1987, 1988 and 1989 have been measured to be the
warmest six years in the last hundred years. The year 1991 was the second warmest year of the
past century. The consequences of the rise in temperature is being felt all over the globe the
findings of scientific research done in this field reveal that the temperature of the earth is likely to
rise from 1.4В°C to 5.8В°C within a period of 100 years.
Unfortunately, the imbalance which we have created between our life and earth is already showing
the signs disasters in the form of flood, cyclones, landslides, tsunami, drought, etc. If the imbalance
continues to rise, one day this will pose a question mark on the existence of this planet. Carbon
dioxide (C02) which is an important constituent of environment is causing a warming effect on the
earth s surface.
It increases the evaporation of water into the atmosphere. Since water vapour itself is a
greenhouse gas, this causes still more warming. The warming causes more water vapour to be
evaporated. The C02 level is expected to rise in future due to ongoing burning of fossil fuels and
landuse change. The rate of rise will depend largely on uncertain economic,

Communication Skills That Build Winning Relationships
Communication is the key to growth and development of oneself, and relationships with others.
Good relationships are normally forged over good communication skills. We all know of the
popular saying, No man is an island. This means that human beings are social animals needing
interaction, no man was born to be a loner. Without effective communicationit would be impossible
to survive in this cut throat world. Therefore, it is a necessity to have good communication skills in
order to relate well with other people.
COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY
There are two main reasons why we communicate:
To gather relevant information from people.
To elicit emotional support to people and in turn build mutually useful relationships.
This is best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This always tends to ruin relationships as it pushes people further and further way from them.
v)They blame themselves for everything
They often think that all failures are their fault. For instance, if a person failed to be promoted in
a job he will say, I knew I should have pitched myself harder and be more assertive. Maybe then I
would have gotten the promotion. vi) They dwell on the past
Polar thinkers find it hard to accept and let go of past mistakes, and concentrate on the future.
They use words such as should and ought. For example, in the case of a failed job interview a
polar thinker would say, I should have spoken more clearly and with much more confidence.
We should realize that the way we think affects how we act, in turn affecting our communication
and relationships. There is no shame in recognizing that we have maxed out our potential. Our
happiness cannot depend on other people, we determine our own happiness.
Steps to effective internal communication
These steps are used to help us grow. They can be summarized in the following acronym:
BE DO ACHIEVE NEW BE DO
a)BE
This being the first stage, one has to recognize their own strengths and also allow room for their
shortcomings. It is important to admit your past mistakes

Analysis Of The Afterlife By Lance Armstrong
There are no heroes... in life, only the monsters win . To John Richardson this quote could not be
anymore true. In Richardson s article, The Afterlife, he writes about Lance Armstrong s
miraculous recovery from testicular cancer to winning the Tour de France seven consecutive
years in a row, and becoming a hero to cancer patients around the world, to then becoming the
greatest cheater of all time. No man has ever been looked up to so much by so many people and
then despised by everyone until Lance Armstrong. By analyzing Richardson s use of interviews,
perfect heroes, and Armstrong s blood, we can clarify his argument: that Armstrong became the
greatest cheater of all time, and he does not apologize for it. The interview with the Livestrong
president, Doug Ulman, tells us something very surprising. After people had discovered that all of
Armstrong s winnings were won by blood doping, he had been kicked out of his own organization,
The Lance Armstrong Foundation. Once he had been kicked out, they changed the name from The
Lance Armstrong Foundation to The Livestrong Foundation. No one wanted Lance Armstrong s
name associated with their organization, or with anything in fact. It was then assumed that
Armstrong would never be accepted back into his foundation, but Ulman tells us [i]f he decided
that being a leader in the cancer community is what he wants to spend his life doing... the
foundation would welcome him Wood 2 back (Richardson 83). This was news to Richardson and

Elements Of The Labyrinth
Millhauser Introduction There are few tropes that have endured and evolved as much as the
labyrinth. From ancient to postmodern times, the labyrinth has evolved from a symbol of divine
order to an expression of chaos. Because it is such a flexible symbol, the labyrinth has endured even
as the nature of human thought has evolved. This project aims to explore the labyrinthine elements
of American writer Steven Millhauser s short fiction.
The idea of the labyrinth is demonstratively present in Millhauser s short fiction. However, his
usage of the labyrinth is at once the same and different than preceding eras of short fiction.
Postmodern short fiction in the 1960 s and 70 s utilized the labyrinthine to draw attention to its own
textuality. The labyrinth was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One important characteristic of the labyrinth is its essential interiority. The labyrinth of Greek
mythology, built by Daedalus for King Minos of Crete, had a perplexing and imprisoning interior.
The complexity of its interior served its function: the imprisonment of the Minotaur a half man and
half bull creature. In her book The Idea of the Labyrinth, Penelope Doob traces the evolution of the
labyrinth in art, culture and literature from antiquity to the middle ages. Doob observes that the
labyrinth of ancient mythology was so perplexing that its maker, Daedalus, could scarcely navigate
it (Doob, 36). The confusion and imprisoning nature of the mythological labyrinth points to the
trope s inextricable quality: its interior ambages (Doob 66). Likewise, Hermann Kern asserts that
the most important feature of the labyrinth [is]...the negative space of the path formed by those
lines which determined the pattern of movement (Kern 23). Nietzsche, too, observes that the force
of the labyrinth is that its meaning resides solely in its interiority (Nietzsche

The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens Summary
In Sean Covey s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, Covey explains ways to better yourself
and how you can better others. He forms each chapter as a different habit. These habits help with
self trust, social skills, and ways to make being a teenager easier. The habits are divided by
private victory and public victory. Through this book, I learned better ways to communicate and
a different look on the world. Habit one is Be Proactive. Being proactive is when you take the
highway to be the better person instead of overreacting. You can do this by talking a problem
out with someone instead of storming off and making them feel worse about what they ve done.
I occasionally use habit 1. I generally use it when I have more patience or the situation isn t life
changing. Habit one also tells you to not always go in the fast lane that sometimes you just need
to stop and take a break. Habit one is the root habit. This habit plays into multiple habits to better
yourself. Additionally, Habit two is about taking control of your life instead of letting someone
else take control of it. This Habit is known as Begin with the End in Mind. This helps to make a
plan on how you want tomorrow, next week, and even the next year to go. In this habit, you
learn to construct a mission statement to live by. I use this habit every once in awhile when I
need have a lot to do. This habit is also a root habit because it helps plan for your future. Habit 3
is all about prioritizing. In habit two, we learned to know what we want. This habit helps
prioritize what you want and all others can be done later. This habit uses 4 different time quadrants
to show how we all tend to use our time. Quadrant 1 is the procrastinator. The procrastinator puts
everything off to the last minute. This quadrant is usually stressed out and tends to stay up until
the sunrises doing work. Quadrant three is the yes man. This person is always trying to please
people. By doing this the person ends up making no one happy because they are breaking their
promises. Quadrant 4 is the worst quadrant to be in. This is the slacker. The slacker spends more
time on their phone and playstation rather than actually work. School is the last thing this person
thinks about.

One such weakness is its inability to attack anything behind its main body. The walker would
have to turn completely around to engage a target behind it thus exposing itself to the direction
it was previously facing. One of the most commonly exploited weaknesses of the AT AT is it
high center of gravity, making it top heavy. One example of the rebels taking advantage of this
weakness is when the Empire assaulted Hoth. Rebel snow speeders attached tow lines toe the
walker s legs and wrapped the line around it until the walker got snagged and toppled over. The
walker also has a hard time attacking more than one target at a time. Another weakness is the
flexible tunnel that runs between the cargo and troop areas of the craft and the head. One direct
blast to this tunnel detonated the entire AT AT. The platting on the underbelly of the walker is
slightly weaker and easier to damage. The AT AT also has no way to protect against troops
beneath its main body, where the lightly armored hatch can be easily cut free and sabotaged.
One other big weakness in the design of the AT AT is the fact that it is very slow compared to the
smaller AT ST. Also the terrain it is in can limit it much farther, with it moving at its fastest on flat
smooth ground and its slowest on steep rocky inclines, and heavily forested areas like the moon of

Ellen Ripley Analysis
Ellen Ripley in the movie shows how a female can do just as much as anyone, and on top of that
willing to fight for the better good and destroy the aliens in order to keep other families safe.
Ripley for one in the beginning of the movie stood her ground on the course of events that
happened on the ship when the attack happened. Ripley stayed true to her word. Not only does
Ripley go and fight, she showed remorse of the loss of her daughter and she has survivors regret
which makes her more personable. But she is able to fight past all that and use her old job
experience to help load the ship to land on LV46. A little point I did notice is the minimal use of
beauty products from Ripley, she is all natural faced. The point I want to make from this was how
people correlate the amount of beauty products used to shallowness and it added to the idea that
Ripley is not shallow and a caring person.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

economy and the associated institutions, Marx s famously commented liberal conceptions of
justice and equality often result in unequal results rung as a corner stone argument of opponents of
Neo Liberal economics. The story of the Occupy Movement, while regularly citing Marxist

Neo Liberalism, globalization and the fight to re include economic equality in the discourse of

contradictions found in Neo Liberal ideology, they range from significant income inequality to

Loyalty In Julius Caesar
In Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar, the character Mark Antony remains the same throughout the
play making him a static character. Antony s character has a wide variety of character traits but
most of them remain unchanged throughout the play. And so even though Antony is a well
rounded character he is still static because his many character traits remain the same. Some
examples of Antony s traits that remain constant are his loyalty to Caesar, his manipulative
behavior, his selfishness, and his honor. Antony is loyal to Caesar from the beginning of the
play through the end of it. He shows his loyalty to Caesar at the beginning of the play when he
says I shall remember: when Caesar says do this, it is perform d. (1, 2, 93). When Antony says
this he is only responding to Caesar s request to touch his wife Calphurnia as he runs past in a race
but this still shows Antony s willingness to follow what Caesar says. When Antony says this he is
essentially stating that he is willing to follow any order that Caesar gives him to demonstrate his
loyalty. Antony demonstrates his loyalty again later in the play... Show more content on

His first display of honor was when after Caesar was killed he vowed to seek revenge by saying

that a civil war is what is needed to stop the conspirators from gaining power and to avenge
Caesar s death. This part of the play shows that Antony is honorable because he is respecting his
friend by avenging his wrongful death. At the end of the play Antony has another display of honor
when he pays respect to Brutus by saying this was the noblest Roman of them all (5, 5, 74). In this
line Antony recognizes Brutus s integrity. He shows that he has respect for Brutus s character even
though he was one of the conspirators. Antony s honor remains with him for the entire course of the
play making it a constant

Loneliness In Of Mice And Men
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck portrays loneliness in many ways. A great deal of people are

The Tragic Hero in Antigone
Aristotle s theories on tragedy were first established during the fourth century in the
Poetics, where he defines what makes a tragic hero. Aristotle suggests that a tragic hero is a
character who has a high social standing and embodies great nobility in his/her personality. They
are neither a villain nor are they entirely good, but a person somewhat like us, raised to a higher
position in society. In addition, the downfall of a tragic hero is caused by fault of their own, often
through arrogance or pride, as the result of free will. It is triggered by a weakness in their character
or an error of their judgment, which is known as their tragic flaw, or hamartia. The tragic hero s
misfortune also exceeds the mistake they made, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because Creon is the most responsible for the all the dark turns in this play, he is left to suffer
for the consequences for his actions even after death, which exceed his tragic flaw. He had the
most to lose, thus evoking feelings of pity and fear in the audience. Creon recognizes his
mistake only when he loses it all and it is too late to reverse the consequences of his actions. He
undergoes a drastic change of character, supported by his final statements in the play: I have
been rash and foolish... Fate has brought all my pride to a thought of dust. In this quote, Creon
realizes that he is at fault because he can t control fate and his pride took him nowhere. He even
goes as far to admit that he killed his son and wife. The audience feels sorry for Creon because now
he is alone and lost all of his pride and glory as king.
Creon undergoes much loss because of his tragic flaw and the audience stimulates our pity and
fear for him, making him the epitome of a tragic hero. His pride led to his ultimate downfall and

transformation, in many cases, leads to an innovation, especially social innovation. The purpose
of this paper is to explore whether The New Structural Social Work (Mullaly, B., 2007) can be
considered an innovation. The origin of social work is traced back to the end of the nineteenth
century, when the Charity Organization Society movement began in 1877 in the United States of
America, and the Settlement House movement started in 1884 in England. In both the cases, rapid
industrialization, urbanization (Mullaly, B., 2007), and mass immigration contributed to
escalating people s plight due to oppressions resulting unemployment, destitution, hardship,
begging, and crimes. Social system was dominated by power, and resource distribution was
unidirectional. A group of people from the higher strata of the society (Mullay, B. 2007) came
forward to address people s plight based on individual cases. The primary focus of the then social
work, later known as conventional social work, was individuals (Mullay, B. 2007) instead of
social system. The intertwined relationships between individuals and the social system were totally
ignored or unapprehended (Mullay, B. 2007). The conventional social work, thus, can be
characterized (Carniol, B. 1992) as follows: 01.The conventional social work is mainly based on
advocacy and support focusing upon individuals requirement. Social workers

The Iranian Revolution Of 1979 Essay
The Iranian Revolution, also known as the Islamic Revolution of 1979 took place in Iran. It is
when Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi the emperor of Iran during that time, was overthrown by the
revolutionary forces led by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and thereafter established the Islamic
National Republic of Iran. The Iranian Revolutionbrought a big change into the international
community and how it viewed revolutions. As Iran s revolution lacked many of the fundamental
causes that were though to give rise to revolutions. It was unusual in the sense that it had no
agrarian pattern. As the traditional social structure was maintained after the revolution and it
reinstated old structure as the Muslim clergy came into power. To understand what led to the
Iranian Revolution of 1979, we need to look back into the Iranian history and the timeline leading
up to the revolution. In doing so, we can use the psychological theories of revolution and structural
functionalist theories of revolution in order to analyses and explain the cause of the Iranian
Revolution. Iran is a country with majority of its population being Shia Muslims, it is a splinter
branch of Islam where it is believed that only Muhammad s descendants can lead the faithful.
Muslim clergy plays political roles in Shia countries, even though Shia Muslims are a small
segment (about 15%) of the entire Muslim population, since 1501 most Iranians identify as Shia
Muslims. This is one way they differentiate themselves from the

Cross-Cultural Communication Problems in Expatriation- an...
Cross cultural communication problems in Expatriation: An American Working in Japan case. I
decided to choose this topic because in the modern world, where globalization takes over the
economy, the cross cultural communication is becoming increasingly important subject to address
for organizations and especially for its Human Resource Management. Whether it is a multinational
company with subsidiaries all over the world, or a manufacturing company with distribution
network across continents, or just a wholesale company expanding to new markets, all of them may
encounter cross cultural difference problems among employees, with clients, with superiors, etc.

The above scores lead to the following conclusions on five dimensions of cultures for Japan and
Unites States of America. JAPAN PDI (score: 54): Japan is near the world s average score of 55
and is not very power distance oriented society. Japanese are always conscious of their
hierarchical position in any social setting and act accordingly. However, it is not as hierarchical
as most of the other Asian cultures (2) However, many foreigners consider Japan as very
hierarchical. IDV (score 46): Japan is in the area of world average score of 43. Though, It has
many characteristics of collectivistic society, expressing such things as harmony, collective
strength, group convention, etc. Even though, it still is not as collectivistic as other Asian
countries. Japanese are also famous for their loyalty to their companies (2). MAS (score 95):
Japan has one of the top scores in this dimension. For Japan masculinity is expressed through the
drive for excellence and perfection ... workaholism (2). UAI (score 92): Japan is one of the most
uncertainty avoiding countries in the world. Due to constant threat from the nature, such as
earthquakes and tsunamis, Japanese learned to prepare themselves for any uncertain situation (2).
This also had an impact on businessmen who prefer to prepare a detailed plan and rely on facts.

Edgar Vilhelm Analysis
Edgar Vilhelm. Aspiring author, playwriter, sound mixer, multi instrumentalist, and multi media
artist. As a self described jack of all trades, master of none , Edgar surely doesn t carry the
attitude of master of none at all. Upon first meeting him he seems like a very humble guy, but after
being his friend for some time he reeks of self importance. It s actually very comedic.
Me: First, give me a quick description of who you are.
One of the best minds of our generation. Oft referred to as Edgar the Victorian, I am a 20 year old
white, cis het male atheist, a painter, multi instrumentalist, writer, and soon to be filmmaker. Snarky
as fuck, especially towards alternative facts.

I think the first story I wrote was a Godzilla knock off, which I called Space Monster. I even
made a sequel for it a little while later lol. Next big writing project I remember was in 4th grade,
for science class. Our teacher told us to write a story about the changes between states of matter,
and molecules moving. The first one ended up being a parody of Star Wars, in which my friends
and I turned into Star Wars characters and went to space to battle aliens who destroyed the sun.
When I was in elementary school, I and some friends of mine took the Space Monster concept
and decided to go in sort of an Ultraman direction with it, by trying to make it into a show and
having it be sort of a monster of the week thing, in which every episode, Space Monster would
have to battle new monsters. I tell you, I was drawing kaiju left and right for that. The stories
were really fucking involved as well. Next, around 5th 6th grade, I began getting into anime.
Hence, I started coming up with anime characters, and demons for them to fight, and such. More
recently, I ve shifted the focus onto poetry, and found my style becoming more aligned with the
gritty realists, like Bukowski, Carver, Ginsberg, and Heston. Poetry isn t any more than a hobby
for me self therapy, to put it better. I view it as language unhinged. I use whatever visuals or words
I need to convey exactly how I

The Cyscopy Procedures
Cystoscopy
Cystoscopy is a procedure that is used to help diagnose and sometimes treat conditions that affect
that lower urinary tract. The lower urinary tract includes the bladder and the tube that drains urine
from the bladder out of the body (urethra). Cystoscopy is performed with a thin, tube shaped
instrument with a light and camera at the end (cystoscope). The cystoscope may be hard (rigid) or
flexible, depending on the goal of the procedure. The cystoscope is inserted through the urethra,
into the bladder.
Cystoscopy may be recommended if you have:
Urinary tract infections that keep coming back (recurring).
Blood in the urine (hematuria).
Loss of bladder control (urinary incontinence) or an overactive bladder.

Paganism And Christianity In Beowulf
The significance of Paganism and Christianity are both present in Beowulf. Beowulf was written
between the 8th and 10th century s, when the Anglo Saxon society was beginning to change
from Paganism to Christianity. Many believe that this is essentially a pagan work since the
Christian faith hadn t fully arrived in the Anglo Saxon society. However, according to Douglas
Wilson, The poet could easily have known individual Christian Anglo Saxons who had converted
from paganism (page.31); this showing how the author would have been able to retrieve
information about the customs and morals of Christianity. Christianity is a religion based upon
monotheistic beliefs, belief in one personal and transcendent God and based through Jesus s
teachings. This religion teaches that God has a path for everyone, that people may choose to
follow and live by him. The epic poem through the years, has been based upon Christianity but
still contains a good deal of Pagan elements. Paganism is a religion founded before Christianity,
having no belief in a personal god and based more on the concept of fate, that people do not have
control over their life. In Beowulf, God is praised for all of his works by Beowulf himself, and the
other characters. While also believing that fate controlled the character s lives. The Pagan
components in the epic Beowulf are clear in the characters superhuman representations. Beowulf is
portrayed as a hero. Beowulf willingly saves the Danes from Grendel. In his fight

Comparing Love In Pride And Prejudice And Romeo And Juliet
Pride and Prejudice and Romeo and Juliet are two of the most acclaimed and outstanding English
literature composed about the conflict of love. Although both William Shakespeare s Romeo and
Juliet and Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice are two different genres of literary, one as a play and
the other, a novel both have had a huge impact on the sense of marriageand love. Despite both
works are set during the Regency Era and the Renaissance Era, I will demonstrate that both are
certainly similar regarding love and marriage.
Not only were women considered inferior to men but they were raised to believe it. In addition, it
was common that marriages were organised to establish/forge/form alliances with other aristocratic
families. This became

Pros And Cons To Legalize The Possession Of Marijuana
My position in this debate panel is to legalize the possession of marijuana. The liberal s stance is
that they want to legalize, regulate and restrict the access of marijuana. To many young Canadians
end up with criminal records for possessing small amounts of drugs ,which then is costly to the
criminal justice system and the young offender is caught in the criminal system for minor,
nonviolent crimes. They want to focus on keeping this drug out of the hands of children by
implementing specific locations to distribute this drug. The government is trying to shift the sells
from the black market and keeping the profits of out the hands of the criminals. There are going to
be changes within the law, remove consumption and incidental possession

My Life Is The Worst
The air was damp and still. Not a single breeze on this seemingly hot as fuck evening in the
middle of August. I close my eyes as I continue down the sidewalk out of the small neighborhood
of shitty apartments, most of which that are left to rot. Not very many people live here, which
is probably my favorite part of this place. No one yelling at the other from their balcony, cursing
while a million little children run about getting bullied and thrown to the ground. It s so quiet.
So quiet and peaceful, it s hard to imagine that town is right around the corner. It s as if even the
outside world s sound had abandoned this place. 5th street is quite the ways down, so I was left
to my own devices. I would love to say that this is my down time. My time to just think and
reflect and all of that, but no. Reflecting on my life is the worst. It makes me cringe to just think
about thinking. I ll remember the worst crap that I do. Like this one time, back when I was just
about, eh, 15? I had this awful just boost of testosterone that made me just want to punch
everything. I was angry at absolutely nothing. I was pacing the house left and right, stomping up
a storm, waking Todd up. One does not, and I repeat not, wake up Todd O. Archibald at 6am in
the morning. Actually, you don t wake up and Doyle at 6am in the morning, regardless of the
reasoning. The world could be crumbling at your feet and they will always be pissed off at you. So,
the guy gives me this crooked glare,

  • 2. The Power Of Flattery In King Lear In the year 1605, the oldest daughter of an elderly man claimed her father was senile and no longer could make decisions on his own. This daughter believed she should be able to take over his estate. The younger daughter named Cordell defended her father s sanity and protected her father s estate and dignity. This sad situation was becoming an issue in 17th Century Britain. This occurrence could have been the model for one of Shakespeare s most famous plays, King Lear. Shakespeare s play King Lear showcases the difference between true love and devotion and the destructive power of false words of love and flattery. In the beginning of King Lear, we see the cast of main characters King Lear and his three daughters Cordelia, Goneril, and Regan having a big discussion. King Lear askes his daughters who loves him the most, whoever can put in words who loves him the most gets most of his lands, wealth and authority. While Goneril and Regan give lofty exaggerated words on their loves for their father, Cordelia remains silent. Cordelia refuses to answer the question, this shocks and angers King Lear since Cordelia is his favorite daughter. The king in his anger disowns Cordelia and sends her off to be married to the king of France without any dowry. He then divides his kingdom between the two daughters who flattered him, Goneril and Regan. Brian Sheerin in his article, Making Use of Nothing: The Sovereignties of King Lear states, King Lear receives nothing for his potlatch, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Atp Lab Report Morgan Calafati #1 MAKE OBSERVATIONS Even in middle school biology I learned that the body produced ATP and used it for energy, and I never thought about what the abbreviation meant. When I learned that ATP was adenosine triphosphate, which is composed of a modified form of adenine and phosphates, it made me wonder why there is not chemical energy using the other bases. #2 ASK QUESTIONS Why is ATP the most common form of chemical energy rather than CTP, TTP, or GTP? #3 HYPOTHESIS Because adenine is a purine and utilizes 2 hydrogen bonds when it is in DNA, it fits better with the ribose and phosphates. The only exception is in tubulin, which helps with construction of cytoskeletons. Guanosine is mainly used in G proteins, which help relay hormonal and chemical signals. Other guanosine molecules mainly help control intercellular traffic and relay signals. Uridine is mainly used in glycogen synthesis. UTP will bind to a glucose and form a UDP glucose and a free phosphate, making the glucose more reactive. UDP is used to help break down the other monosaccharides as well. CTP is similar to UTP except that instead of helping break down sugar CTP helps to break down fats. CDP diacylglycerol and CDP choline are all found in plasma membranes. ATP is ideal because it is a purine and purine rings give them a wider range of uses. Source 3: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many new companies setting up headquarters in Oakland, such as Uber, are making the prices of living in Oakland rise higher and higher because many rich tech people are moving in rapidly. As a result, Oakland is becoming a much nicer place than it once was. By staying put, the Raiders would benefit from more expensive tickets due to Oakland becoming a wealthy city. Also, the Raiders fan base in the Alameda County is second to none, as they have been selling out games for years. This will also help drive up the ticket prices because there will be lots of demand for the tickets, thus raising the prices even further.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Initially, it will be more profitable than staying in Oakland because most of the stadium funding will be from the casino tycoons and tickets for the first season there will be at an all time high. But, after the first season, less and less people will come to games because the novelty of the Raiders in Vegas will wear off and Las Vegas isn t a football town. There aren t many true sports fans in Vegas who will come to every game faithfully like residents of the Alameda County do. A great example of this is when the Rams moved to Los Angeles last season. Everybody was extremely excited for the Rams coming to LA and as a result, ticket prices boomed and the Rams were one of the most profitable teams in the NFL. But, as the season progressed, less and less people went to the games, and the Rams began to self destruct, firing their coach mid season. Cellular Respiration Of Yeast Lab Report Abstract: This experiment is to examine, analyze and investigate the affects of pollutants on a simple organism (yeast) and how the pollutants modify a simple organisms (yeast) rate to carry out cellular respiration. Cellular respiration is an organism s ability to convert nutrients into energy (ATP). This experiment is a method of addressing the way pollutants can interfere with an organism s ability to cellular respire that can negatively affect life in an environment. Different pollutants (Isopropyl alcohol, vinegar, salt solution (10%), and baking soda solution (5%)) will individually and separately be added to a mixture of dry active yeast, granulated sugar and warm water present in a 25ml beaker, to stimulate an environment where yeast ... Essay on Comparing Gilgamesh to Genesis Comparing Gilgamesh to Genesis In both Gilgamesh and Noah and the Flood, man s wickedness leads to death, destruction, and rebirth all caused by billions of gallons of water sweeping the earth s surface. It generally sticks to a simple but clever storyline. The impact of society and cultural influence upon a text s composition is deep and may be viewed as reflective of the period in which it was created. Separated by several centuries of social change, turmoil, and general upheaval, the values presented within both these texts are hardly matching. The decline in recognition of the supernatural as an influence upon humans may be viewed as (at least partly) responsible for the change in attitudes displayed between the original and transformed work. • 12. The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In The United States Poverty rates in the United States are at their highest in the extremely urban and truly rural areas of the country. However, poverty rates, as measured by the Department of Agriculture s Economic Research Service, are higher in non metro areas as compared to metropolitan centers. The demographics of poverty offer insight for future policy considerations to both public administrators and policy writers beyond the demographics of simply rural versus metro citizens. For example, in 2016 rural White citizens were half as likely to live in poverty as either Black or Native American citizens. In addition, a female head of household in a rural area is nearly eight times as likely to live in poverty as a married couple. Couple these demographics with the fact that only 46 million citizens live in nonmetro areas roughly 15% of the national population it is not surprising that rural areas seem to receive less attention by federally elected officials than urban and suburban areas with few, if any, programs geared specifically to known problem characteristics. At the county level, poverty as defined by the US government is an immensely rural problem, with the most remote rural places at the greatest disadvantage. It would seem obvious that where and how an individual lives would matter in a person s ability to rise above the poverty level. However, federal policy that addresses poverty is not specific to rural areas or metropolitan areas an instead is agnostic to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, Herlin Karnell states that the broad objectives and focus on ensuring a high level of security have left the AFSJ to focus solely on security while abandoning freedom and justice. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Three examples are used which show that the broad language used to set up the AFSJ and its focus on security, have blurred the division between internal and external security. In each of the examples, money laundering, intelligence, and cybercrime, the EU itself has justified its right to police these areas using broad definitions in regulations. The author argues that security is too broad and any situation could be morphed to fit under that large umbrella. Further focus on security without concern for justice and freedom (the other tenants of the AFSJ) in the author s view, has the potential to undermine the legitimacy of the union, the system, and the stated goals of justice and human rights (Herlin Karnell, 2016). Upon first reading it becomes clear that Herlin Karnell is writing to an audience with a thorough understanding of the EU and its structure. This results in undefined terms and assumptions about the bloc as a whole. An individual without a baseline knowledge of the EU would have some difficulty determining the meaning of some terms and concepts based solely on the writing at hand. One important characteristic of the labyrinth is its essential interiority. The labyrinth of Greek mythology, built by Daedalus for King Minos of Crete, had a perplexing and imprisoning interior. The complexity of its interior served its function: the imprisonment of the Minotaur a half man and half bull creature. In her book The Idea of the Labyrinth, Penelope Doob traces the evolution of the labyrinth in art, culture and literature from antiquity to the middle ages. Doob observes that the labyrinth of ancient mythology was so perplexing that its maker, Daedalus, could scarcely navigate it (Doob, 36). The confusion and imprisoning nature of the mythological labyrinth points to the trope s inextricable quality: its interior ambages (Doob 66). Likewise, Hermann Kern asserts that the most important feature of the labyrinth [is]...the negative space of the path formed by those lines which determined the pattern of movement (Kern 23). • 26. The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens Summary In Sean Covey s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, Covey explains ways to better yourself and how you can better others. He forms each chapter as a different habit. These habits help with self trust, social skills, and ways to make being a teenager easier. The habits are divided by private victory and public victory. Through this book, I learned better ways to communicate and a different look on the world. Habit one is Be Proactive. Being proactive is when you take the highway to be the better person instead of overreacting. You can do this by talking a problem out with someone instead of storming off and making them feel worse about what they ve done. I occasionally use habit 1. I generally use it when I have more patience or the situation isn t life changing. Habit one also tells you to not always go in the fast lane that sometimes you just need to stop and take a break. Habit one is the root habit. This habit plays into multiple habits to better yourself. Additionally, Habit two is about taking control of your life instead of letting someone else take control of it. This Habit is known as Begin with the End in Mind. This helps to make a plan on how you want tomorrow, next week, and even the next year to go. In this habit, you learn to construct a mission statement to live by. I use this habit every once in awhile when I need have a lot to do. This habit is also a root habit because it helps plan for your future. Habit 3 is all about prioritizing. In habit two, we learned to know what we want. This habit helps prioritize what you want and all others can be done later. This habit uses 4 different time quadrants to show how we all tend to use our time. Quadrant 1 is the procrastinator. The procrastinator puts everything off to the last minute. This quadrant is usually stressed out and tends to stay up until the sunrises doing work. Quadrant three is the yes man. This person is always trying to please people. By doing this the person ends up making no one happy because they are breaking their promises. Quadrant 4 is the worst quadrant to be in. This is the slacker. The slacker spends more time on their phone and playstation rather than actually work. School is the last thing this person thinks about. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The AT AT Walker is arguably the most powerful terrestrial vehicle at the disposal of the Galactic Empire. The Empire employs the AT AT onto the battlefield as both a troop transport and an assault craft. The AT AT has been deployed in multiple battlefield environments, including the assault on Hoth and defense of the forest moon of Endor, with deadly effect. The AT AT is used when the Empire needs to assault an enemy position, or when a large amount of enemies need taken out. The AT AT is also utilized as a physiological deterrent. One such weakness is its inability to attack anything behind its main body. The walker would have to turn completely around to engage a target behind it thus exposing itself to the direction it was previously facing. One of the most commonly exploited weaknesses of the AT AT is it high center of gravity, making it top heavy. One example of the rebels taking advantage of this weakness is when the Empire assaulted Hoth. Rebel snow speeders attached tow lines toe the walker s legs and wrapped the line around it until the walker got snagged and toppled over. The walker also has a hard time attacking more than one target at a time. Another weakness is the flexible tunnel that runs between the cargo and troop areas of the craft and the head. One direct blast to this tunnel detonated the entire AT AT. The platting on the underbelly of the walker is slightly weaker and easier to damage. The AT AT also has no way to protect against troops beneath its main body, where the lightly armored hatch can be easily cut free and sabotaged. One other big weakness in the design of the AT AT is the fact that it is very slow compared to the smaller AT ST. Also the terrain it is in can limit it much farther, with it moving at its fastest on flat smooth ground and its slowest on steep rocky inclines, and heavily forested areas like the moon of Endor where its usage was far less than the ... Ellen Ripley Analysis Ellen Ripley in the movie shows how a female can do just as much as anyone, and on top of that willing to fight for the better good and destroy the aliens in order to keep other families safe. Ripley for one in the beginning of the movie stood her ground on the course of events that happened on the ship when the attack happened. Ripley stayed true to her word. Not only does Ripley go and fight, she showed remorse of the loss of her daughter and she has survivors regret which makes her more personable. But she is able to fight past all that and use her old job experience to help load the ship to land on LV46. Antony s character has a wide variety of character traits but most of them remain unchanged throughout the play. And so even though Antony is a well rounded character he is still static because his many character traits remain the same. Some examples of Antony s traits that remain constant are his loyalty to Caesar, his manipulative behavior, his selfishness, and his honor. Antony is loyal to Caesar from the beginning of the play through the end of it. He shows his loyalty to Caesar at the beginning of the play when he says I shall remember: when Caesar says do this, it is perform d. (1, 2, 93). When Antony says this he is only responding to Caesar s request to touch his wife Calphurnia as he runs past in a race but this still shows Antony s willingness to follow what Caesar says. The New Structural Social Work As A Social Innovation Social work contemplates establishing social justice through social transformation, and social transformation, in many cases, leads to an innovation, especially social innovation. The purpose of this paper is to explore whether The New Structural Social Work (Mullaly, B., 2007) can be considered an innovation. The origin of social work is traced back to the end of the nineteenth century, when the Charity Organization Society movement began in 1877 in the United States of America, and the Settlement House movement started in 1884 in England. In both the cases, rapid industrialization, urbanization (Mullaly, B., 2007), and mass immigration contributed to escalating people s plight due to oppressions resulting unemployment, destitution, hardship, begging, and crimes. Social system was dominated by power, and resource distribution was unidirectional. A group of people from the higher strata of the society (Mullay, B. 2007) came forward to address people s plight based on individual cases. The primary focus of the then social work, later known as conventional social work, was individuals (Mullay, B. 2007) instead of social system. The intertwined relationships between individuals and the social system were totally ignored or unapprehended (Mullay, B. 2007). The conventional social work, thus, can be characterized (Carniol, B. 1992) as follows: 01.The conventional social work is mainly based on advocacy and support focusing upon individuals requirement. • 46. Paganism And Christianity In Beowulf The significance of Paganism and Christianity are both present in Beowulf. Beowulf was written between the 8th and 10th century s, when the Anglo Saxon society was beginning to change from Paganism to Christianity. Many believe that this is essentially a pagan work since the Christian faith hadn t fully arrived in the Anglo Saxon society. However, according to Douglas Wilson, The poet could easily have known individual Christian Anglo Saxons who had converted from paganism (page.31); this showing how the author would have been able to retrieve information about the customs and morals of Christianity. Christianity is a religion based upon monotheistic beliefs, belief in one personal and transcendent God and based through Jesus s teachings. This religion teaches that God has a path for everyone, that people may choose to follow and live by him. The epic poem through the years, has been based upon Christianity but still contains a good deal of Pagan elements. Paganism is a religion founded before Christianity, having no belief in a personal god and based more on the concept of fate, that people do not have control over their life. In Beowulf, God is praised for all of his works by Beowulf himself, and the other characters. While also believing that fate controlled the character s lives.
