The Godfather Opening Scene Essay
The Godfather is the story of Vito and Michael Corleone. Michael is the son of Vito who is the
Don of the Corleone mafia crime family. The Godfather depicts how an orphaned Sicilian
immigrant rises to the top of organized crime in America and how his son, who at first shuns his
father s world, embraces his father s way of life after the attempted murder on his father.
Mise en scene paints the picture of a film and is also known as what is on the stage. At the
beginning of The Godfather, the movie starts at in darkness with the words of the undertaker being
heard saying, I believe in America. We then see the undertaker come into frame. The low key
lighting on the face of the undertaker casts a dark shadow over the entire scene and immediately
makes the audience feel the despair and fear coming from him. The benefit from the lighting of the
opening scene is that it sets the stage for the violent and criminal nature of the film. ... Show more

One in particular that focuses on the use of sound and music is the restaurant scene where
Michael kills the family s rival gangster Sollozzo and corrupt police captain, McCluskey.
Coppola makes two main choices with the sound to create tension in the scene. He chooses not
to include music in the scene and exaggerates key sound effects to heighten Michael s emotional
state. As the three of the men sit down, the first sound you hear is the pop of the cork being
twisted off the wine bottle. It is an exaggerated sound and much louder than anything else that is
being heard inside the restaurant but it sets the tone for the scene as if to say to listen more
closely. Sollozzo and Michael starts talking in Italian but you aren t provided with any subtitles so
unless you know Italian, you don t really know what they are saying. As a result, you pay more
attention to how things are being said and the body language being used. You re listening to the
sound of the language, not the

Representation Of Helen In Euripides Women Of Troy
The representation of Helen in Homer s work and with how she is depicted in Euripides Women of
Troy enables the reader to understand different perspectives of Helen s personality seen throughout
both texts. Furthermore, these comparative methods in both texts will raise questions and
awareness to the depiction of Helen. In this essay, I will explore the perspective of how Euripides
displays a harsher judgement of Helen than in Homer s text.
Firstly, Helen was one of the most inspired characters in The Iliad. Helen was depicted as
powerless, beautiful and an object. After Paris taking Helen home, she realizes that Paris is not
able to realize the consequences of her disobedience. Homer allows the reader to understand that
Helen s decisions are made for her. For instance, Aphrodite s involvement in the duel on Helen s
behalf triggered Helen s thoughts on blaming the g ds for the war. By blaming Aphrodite, Helen
shows her disrespect for the g ds. However, Helen does not have a choice when she faces her
decisions. For example, Aphrodite s ordered her to return to the bedroom and make love with
Paris. Helen rebelled and later on, Aphrodite enraged told her to not provoke [her]... or in [her]
immortal rage [she] may just toss [her] over, hate [her] as [she] adores [her] with a vengeance
(Iliad, 3. 480 482). Secondly, Homer enables the reader to understand that Helen s guilt and terrible
beauty is cursed and he is not depicting her harshly. In addition, the g ds did not allow

Marfan Syndrome Characteristics
Marfan syndrome is a genetic condition that affects the human body s connective tissues, or the
muscular system (Braverman 2017). The symptoms of this syndrome can vary from being
moderate to life threatening. Some symptoms of Marfan Syndrome are having abnormally long
fingers, legs, and arms, that are disproportionate with a person s height (Adamec 2005). Having
joints that move past the limit of a regular person is another symptom. Someone with Marfan
Syndrome may also have scoliosis, which is the rounding or arch of the spine. Another trait of
Marfan syndrome is pectus excavatum or sunken chest and pectus carinatum, which is the
protrusion of the chest (Adamec 2005). The life threatening symptoms of this genetic disorder
involve the heart. A person with Marfan syndrome can have leakage of the heart valves or
weakness in the aorta. These symptoms can result in heart disease or aneurysm, which can make
death early (Turkington 2004). Since Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder, people who have this
condition are born with it. One parent has to have this disease in order for their... Show more

However, cautious medical management can help prolong and make better the prognosis of
someone with this genetic condition (Turkington 2004). In order to prevent life threatening
symptoms, refraining from physical activity should be considered because it will prevent any stress
being put on the aorta. An annual test called, Echocardiogram, should be scheduled because it can
monitor the function and size of the aorta and heart (Turkington 2004). Another treatment involving
the cardiovascular system is the removal and replacement of the aortic root. This procedure
decreases the chances of getting heart disease if you are afflicted with the disorder (Adamec
2005). If problems with the eyes is a symptom developed with Marfan syndrome, eye exams with
an ophthalmologist should be periodic and regularly (Turkington

8th Grade Singing
Hello,
There are quite a few pedagogical reasons why Rachel and I have decided to combine both
choirs. Below are just a few. My 8th grade boys were having a hard time singing do to voice
changes. I tried to keep the boys up in their falsetto and while this worked for a few boys the
others we not able to produce certain notes. When boys voices start to change it can result in them
only being able to sing a very limited amount of notes. We worked on high trills, sliding, humming,
yawning, held long tones, among many of other to help support their changing voices. After our
first concert I talked with my boys and they had mentioned that they felt very discouraged about
singing because some of them simply are not producing notes or can only sing in a low rumble.
Rachel mentioned to me that her boys were just starting to transition and she was noticing large
gaps in her group as well. Combining both groups would result in a higher confidence level, tone
production, and create a full choir sound. This is one of the reasons why we combined the groups. ...

Although our Planned Course document does not differentiate between grade levels it is known
in the musical world that 8th grade choir should be able to sing in easy three part harmony by the
end of the year. Seventh graders are just being introduced into it by the end. The 8th graders have
taken on the bulk of the three part harmony however having a small number of students and a
group of boys with ever changing voices makes 3 part harmony almost impossible. To promote
healthy singing and a confident choir it is important for them to be combined. Because the music is
more difficult it will encourages the 7th graders to rise to the level of the 8th graders so when I

Religion And Spirituality On The United States Of America...
Religion and spirituality have been complex issues in the United States of America. This is
especially true when it comes to Native Americans. Since the 16th century, contact between
Native Americans and Europeans has been filled with both good and bad. In this paper, the issue
of religion and spirituality and how they figure into the story of Indian European contact between
the 16th and 21st centuries will be discussed. The people of the Eastern Woodlands held beliefs
about the human, natural, and supernatural worlds. The people believed that there was no line
between the human and natural worlds. In some languages, animals were referred to as people.
Humans were referred to as extra people, or people people. They also believed there was no line
between the natural and supernatural worlds. They also had in their beliefs the idea of manitou.
Manitou roughly translates to spirit in English. They believed there was manitou in everything in
the human, natural, and supernatural worlds. They believed there was power in the natural world
itself. In a reading done in class, Farmers of the Woodlands, written by Peter Nabokov and Dean
Snow, there is discussion of the religious and spiritual beliefs of the people who lived in the
Eastern Woodlands. For the Penobscot bands, they had the spiritual belief of totems. These totems
were animals. They believed the totems were the ancestors to the people of the band. These totems
linked them to the lands they lived, hunted, and fished

Trenchless Replacement Research Paper
Your Options For Repairing A Sewer System With A Collapsed Line If your toilet won t flush or if
there is sewage backing up in your yard, there is a problem with your sewer line. The first step is to
see if it is clogged. There could be grease, hair, and paper clogging the line or it could be full of tree
roots. A more serious problem is a collapsed sewer line. If the pipe has collapsed, the only way to
repair your system is to replace the line. A contractor will dig up the old line and replace it or
perform a trenchless replacement. Here are the differences between these two methods. Digging A
Trench Digging up the old sewer pipe and replacing it with a new one requires the contractor to rip
out part of your yard. While this is a very... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first method is by pipe bursting. The contractor digs a hole at each end of your sewer line.
Then a new pipe is threaded in one hole and pulled through the other end using a wench and
hook. The new pipe busts up the old pipe as it is pulled through. The second trenchless method is
pipe relining. With this method, the contractor leaves the old pipe in place. A liner is forced
through the pipe and then inflated. Once the liner is inflated, it hardens in place and creates a
new pipe inside the old one. This method will only work if the original pipe is in fairly good
shape. If a large part of it has collapsed, it won t be physically possible to push the liner through.
Deciding Which Method To Use Your contractor has to assess the condition of your sewer pipe to
determine which is the best method to use to repair your sewer system. If large sections of the
pipe are crumbled and collapsed, or if the pipe makes sharp turns underground, then trenchless
repair methods may not be possible. The contractor will probably do a video inspection of the line
first to determine the layout and condition of the damaged

The Media and Public Figures
Political Science 6, Laurie Houske
The First Amendment was first established to guarantee Americans with the basic civil liberties that
they would not be threaten by the government. With The First Amendment to the U.S Constitution
congress shall make no law.... abridging the freedom of the press guarantees the press to publish
news, information and opinions with out the government interfering. This also lets people such as
independent press companies the right to publish their own newspaper, mail newsletters, magazines,
etc. It guarantees the journalist and reporters to having the freedom of speech and practicing their
rights to all kinds of media with publishing articles, broadcasting radio news, and much more.
When someone has the freedom to publish what he or she wants they are protected. It will most
likely mean the government won t censor reporters and journalist. Meaning the government has no
control on blocking certain material or preventing publishing of future work. Everyday in our lives
we see the media publishing news articles about a certain celebrity, person or recent news. Many of
the times the media will go to extremes to get the attention of the citizen of the US by releasing
stories that can either harm the reputation of a certain person or company. Since the media has the
right to publish anything they want such as valuable information or a certain opinion. Even on
television the reporters and anchors will also broadcast anything they desire.

Similarities Between Columbus And Charles Lindbergh
This essay will include the journeys of Christopher Columbus and Charles Lindbergh when they d
gone across the Atlantic Ocean. They both made a mark in history, but what did they do? In this
essay, the similarities and differences between their journeys will be discussed, as well as the 400
year gap between them. Their hopes that they wanted to accomplish, challenges they faced, and
skills that they had used to help with the success of their journeys will also be included.
Christopher Columbus and Charles Lindbergh both went across the Atlantic, so that is a start for
similarities. More similarities between their journeys included the facts that both men were looked
at differently after achieving their goals. People respected them and felt hope instead of being
weary of what the world held. Charles Lindbergh and Christopher Columbus both faced many
challenges when crossing that great expanse of water, but they both succeeded.
Though both men went across the Atlantic Ocean, they did differ on lots of things. Most differences
are simple to point out; the other ones require some thinking. Columbus started his journey in 1492
and Lindbergh started his in 1927. The simple differences include the fact that Columbus sailed
across with a boat and Lindbergh, a plane. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

whenever we come into contact with a boat or aircraft of a sort. There were times in an airplane

Understanding The Consumers Buying Behavior
Understanding the consumers buying behaviour is a complicated but essential task for all
marketing managements. It is vital to understand how people make purchase decisions and what
drives them to buy one specific product and no other. According to Kotler et al. (2013) consumer
buyer behaviour refers to the buying behaviour of final consumers individuals and households that
buy goods and services for personal consumption. It may be a costly and time consuming task to
find out what, when, where and how customers buy but in the end it is just a question of effort to
be able to study these issues. But finding out about the actual reasons, why consumers make
specific purchases, is far more difficult because the answers to this question... Show more content

Responses are influenced by a person s attitudes, motivations, knowledge and more and can be
presented in purchase preferences, purchase behaviour or brand loyalty. The individual buyer
characteristics have a huge impact on final purchase decisions. Cultural, social, personal and
psychological factors all affect characteristics of a consumer. The culture a person grows up in is
the most basic cause of a person s wants and behaviour. Growing up in a specific environment
teaches us core life rules, values, perceptions and behaviour within the society. Decisions will be
based on the learned perceptions and life interpretation. For marketers it is crucial to know the
cultural background of their market and to spot developments to be able to meet the changing
needs of their target market. For example years ago the trend towards health and fitness opened a
whole new industry sector to push into. (Kotler et al., 2013) In football the original fans basically
originated from the working class but the consumers nowadays come from many different cultures,
subcultures and social classes. Football clubs have to take these changes into account in order to
serve the consumers with the right product. Therefore adaptions had to be made to meet the needs
of the new growing audience coming from the middle and upper class. To attract middleclass
families, stadiums had

What, exactly, does antihero mean? Merriam Webster traces its first appearance back to 1714 and

Charles Bartholomew Joseph Chuck Bass is a fictional character in the novel and television show
Gossip Girl. Chuck Bass is known as the show s antihero. For example, he cheats, lies or uses the
power of money to make his friends happy or get what they want. He isn t the traditional anti
heroic because he is more relatable to people. His character traits have changed since starting in
the first episode to the last episode in season six. During season one Chuck was shy, and
unlikeable. Also, he is considered the bad boy. He was only interested in girls, himself and
money. In an episode, he says Why should I be... an usher? I m Chuck Bass. This is an example
of how his unlikable personality came across to others. Then by the end of the third season he
shows us a sensitive side. By the third season, Chuck shows a nicer side and is likable. We see
him make a few big and thoughtful gesture to his queen bee girlfriend, for example, surprising her
with her dream dress for prom.

Misandry Thesis
No, woman s rights or FEMINISM is not off base. It is a political and social development that looks
for EQUAL treatment of ladies and men
Individuals need to acknowledge then woman s rights, misandry and matriarchy are three altogether
different things. Matriarchy is indistinguishable to patriarchy, with the special case that the parts
are saved and the lady is the power figure, women s liberation does NOT bolster that. Misandry is
the statement of disdain towards the male sexual orientation, women s liberation does NOT bolster
that, either. Women s liberation strikes to right some exceptionally clear and harmful medications
and social convictions towards ladies until they are equivalent to men. It is extremely
straightforward. The motivation behind why this development was named woman s rights is that
ladies are thought to be abused more in correlation to men. It is much like prejudice towards dark
individuals. Misandry exists, however it doesn t hurt men socially or politically. While misogyny
has brought about the abuse of ladies as well as the lives of ladies. Honestly, there are people who

The Cult of Contemporary Celebrity Essay
Celebrity: (noun) 1. A well known person. 2. Fame, being famous.
No doubt every simian tribe of hunter gatherers had their local celebrities: the woman who gave
birth to quintuplets, the boy who swallowed a porcupine and survived, the man who wrestled with
a tyrannosaurus and... well, he probably would have died, but celebrity status would have been
applied posthumously.
If, however, the man wrestling with a Tyrannosaurus was a modern Hollywood celebrity, not only
would he have lived, he would have pocketed something like $20 million for his efforts, and earned
the adulation of several billion people.

Examples Of Workplace Discrimination
1.How do I define discrimination in my own words and discrimination prevention in my own
words?
Discrimination is a long word, difficult pronunciation, tough to spell; yet, usage is exceedingly
common. Righteous teaching discrimination is simple to define. Unfair, unjust, underserved
treatment upon one is my views of discrimination. Discrimination is done intentionally. One cannot
state unfair treatment upon an induvial was mistaken.
Discrimination is highly found in the workplace. Workplace discrimination is instituted mainly by
employers; however, it transpires among employees. A few examples of workplace discrimination
is not being promoted, hired, friended, praised, heard, or given earned salaries. Leading causes of
the above examples contributes to race, ethnicity, religion, age, weight and gender.
Why should anyone be discriminated in the workplace? Working people in today s society should
know discrimination is immoral! Sadly, many working people are not righteous; therefore,

Essay about Phonics and Whole Language
Phonics and Whole Language A great debate whether the phonetic approach or whole language
approach should be used in the classroom has been occurring since the early nineteen thirties, and
there has not been a definite decision on which approach should be used to teach in the classroom.
To understand this debate, one must first understand the differences between whole language and
phonics learning.
The Definition of Phonics
Many people are confused by the term phonics, because the term can literally have two meanings.
As Miriam Balmuth explains, in the historically earlier sense, the phonics of written language are
the letters and spelling patterns of that language s alphabet and the speech sounds they represent put

Look and Say dominated the school system as a result of a strategic marketing plan carried out by
the publisher (Schafely, 1996).
Time for a Change?
The school systems have had educational backgrounds molded after whole language, and its
time for a phonics approach. It is now more crucial than ever for a change in the system. It
would be impossible to expect the educational system to completely change the way children are
learning to read, but the system must make small, quick changes over a short period of time to
encompass the use of the phonics approach. Not all children have the same learning capabilities,
and that is one of the main arguments against phonics. Many people in opposition say that not
all children can learn from the phonics approach. What people opposed to phonics do not
understand is that phonics can be incorporated into the learning process along with whole
language to ensure a balance and complete understanding of the English language (Unkown,
1994). With whole language as the basis to the learning process, I believe that the schools are
giving out good grade cards to children who are good at guessing and memorizing words. With
this in place, parents don t realize that their children are being taught to guess instead of learning
to read properly. It seems as though the schools have placed more priority on self esteem and
appraisal than on literacy. It has come to a point where

Power of Suppliers GMCR s warns of the potential impact of the price of coffee on the gross
profit margin. To combat this, GMCR had made a number of purchase commitments to ensure
an adequate supply of coffee (GMCR Annual Report, 2010). The market price for coffee is
impacted by numerous factors including weather, economy, and competition. It is vital that
GMCR continue to take proactive measures to secure against unforeseen spikes in coffee prices.
The price of coffee does not only impact GMCR s ability produce coffee for the Keurig brewer
under its namesake but impacts their partner suppliers as well. GMCR purchases coffee from
brokers, farms, estates, and cooperative groups and essentially diversifies its coffee supply,
reducing some supply risk (GMCR Annual Report, 2010). Suppliers such as Starbucks and Dunkin
Donuts are marquee names in the coffee business. The brands are powerful and offer significant
value to the Keurig product line. GMCR must continue to build similar relationships and retain
them for the long term. These strong brand names not only offer a new target customer they also
reaffirm Keurig positioning as premium product. The bargaining power of these suppliers will
vary based on size and brand. GMCR must determine its power when negotiating future deals with
such suppliers, in cases like Starbucks, GMCR should be willing to give more (accept lower
royalty) to continue building the brand.

His fear overcame him and he froze up resulting in failing to accomplish his duty as a soldier. Once
again, using deontological ethics, if the presence of a good will is what makes an action morally
good, regardless of its consequence (Rosenstand 2013, page 284). So, even though the Corporal
was not able to engage the enemy due to his fear overcoming him, he is still admirable for
attempting to do the right thing. Although the film Saving Private Ryancan be viewed through
several moral views, overall the film can be best viewed through the deontological ethics. The
majority of the film is based off of someone intending to do the right thing even when the
consequences were high. The company had duties to uphold as soldiers and they did what they had

`` Privilege, Power, And Difference, By Johnson And Robbins
Since the time we are born we are fed the lies of capitalism. We are taught that capitalism hurts no
one and that capitalism is the only way. Johnson and Robbins have some very influential ideas
about capitalism. Johnson writes about the complexity of privilege. He also addresses why
some privileged people do not feel privileged through the matrix of capitalist domination.
Robbins gives us a background on how privilege became what it is today. He addresses the
anatomy of the working class by drawing attention to how they were mobile, divided, powerless,
and anxious for a revolution. Through Johnson and Robbins eyes we can begin to see how the
world is not the one we were taught it was. In Johnson s book, Privilege, Power, and Difference,
he writes about the matrix of capitalist domination, but to really understand the reader must look
back to the previous chapter when he writes about privilege. Johnson asked the reader to list
qualities such as gender, race, sexual orientation, and class. After doing so, Johnson explained
that such qualities have one side that receives privilege in society. These privileges range from
having a better schooling to getting a job over someone who does not have the privileged
qualities. The ideal qualities of the ones listed according to society is upper class, heterosexual,
white, and male. This is not to say that all white men feel privileged. In fact, that is the entire idea
of the matrix of capitalist domination. People do not fall

Everyman As A Morality Play
Everyman is regarded as a morality play that was written in late 15th century. According to
Michael A. Babcock, author of the story of Western culture, Morality plays can be explained in
best ways because of allegories figure out efforts made between seven virtues and seven vices
contained in heart of man . The play is a picture of what Christians should do or how they should
spend their lives to save their souls from being convicted by death (Yaw Adu Gyamfi P.265). The
understanding of death in Everyman play is influenced by how people live their lives. The play
brings out an idea of how people struggle to choose between worldly things and the ultimate
spiritual judgment. The conflict between riches, relationship and the spiritual enrichment, heaven
and hell and God s verdict seems to be on the rise in the play. Babcock also states, Everyman is a
struggle between good and evil, between seven virtues as well as seven vices . (167). we see how
life is a transitory, when the play documents Everyman s journey from sinful life to sinfree life and
finally to a holy death.
Everyman tries to talk to his friends to accompany him on the long journey, but they abandon
him in time of need. In fact, Fellowship responds to Everyman by saying, Whether ye have loved
me or no, by Saint John, I will not with thee go (Line 287). Even a close cousin also not willing to
go along with you, she makes excuse of having a pain in her toe (Lines 356). In this respect, Julian

Jazz appeared in New Orleans in the early twentieth century. It is the product of miscegenation
between the culture of American black people from slavery, and European culture imported by the
colonists. In the early 1910s, New Orleans Jazz began combining ragtime and blues with
improvisation. In 1930, the swing era emerged followed by Bebop in 1940 where jazz shifted ...

Epigenetic Regulation
Backgrounds
Epigenetic changes can be defined as functional, heritable changes in DNA, that do not involve a
change in the nucleotide sequence[1]. Transcriptional regulation can be controlled through
epigenetic modification and thereby can affect gene expression (44). Epigenetic modifications are
important regulators of numerous biological processes like spermatogenesis. Nowadays there is a
lot of attention to epigenetic changes as a role in identifying genetic causes of male infertility. In
fact epigenetic regulations play an important role in proper spermatogenesis and fertility
preservation (45).

Introduction
Business ethics has developed since the 1960s in the United States. Ethical dilemmas have changed
according to the economic environment. During the 2000s, financial failures happened more
frequently because of unprecedented economic growth. Nowadays, ethical dilemmas such as
financial mismanagement, international corruption, and companies promotional purpose are the
main reasons that some high profile companies such as Enron and Lehman Brothers collapsed. Due
to the allure of huge benefits, management is facing bigger ethical challenges than ever before
when making business decisions. Over the last two decades, business ethics has been troubled by a
lack of direction and has become entangled in its own logic (Donaldson, Dunfee, 1994, p.1).
Business ethics as self regulation helps us to distinguish between two things. What exactly we think
п¬Ѓrms ethical obligations are, above and beyond complying with laws, and what it would be
favorable for them to choose to do when they are not obliged to do so (Norman, 2011, p.1). When
fraud happens, companies collapse more rapidly than its growth. Collapse resulting from the fraud
not only destroys the companies, but also may results the shareholders investments impossible to

People reason that Boo has allegedly stabbed his father in the leg with scissors, and was accused
of breaking the law at a young age. As the characters evolve throughout the book, Boo Radley
engenders the kids to slowly realize that he is not as evil as what the citizens of Maycomb
claimed him to be. Boo Radley symbolizes one of the novel s mockingbirds, a good person who
is injured by the evil of mankind. The first time we directly see Boo break from his evil
appearance is when Atticus tells Scout that [s]omeday, maybe, Scout can thank him for covering
her up (Lee 72). Scout was so engaged with Ms. Maudie s house burning down that she did not

that Boo is looking after the children s lives, observing them, and looking out for any troubles
they may encounter. The blanket serves as a piece of evidence that Boo is a kindhearted man
who wants to be Scout and the children s friend. This is the first time that the characters in the

Herman Melville s Theory Of A Social Contract In Bartleby
Jules Verne once said, Solitude, isolation are painful things and beyond human endurance. Bartleby
went through isolation and solitude, which in the end, these painful things exhausted him. In
Bartleby, the Scrivener, one of the implicit ideas that Herman Melville wrote about is a theory
called a social contract. The social contract is where a person contributes to society, while society
contributes to the person. This fits in Bartleby because the lawyer tried to help Bartleby by
offering him a job, a possible bonus, and a possible place of living. In Bartleby, the Scrivener, there
should have been several things that society, beside the lawyer, to help Bartleby. In conclusion, the
social contract was an important factor in this story; Bartleby owed adjusting his attitude to society,
while society owed helping Bartleby; and this social contract can be amended for mercy and
brotherhood.
The social contract was an important factor because this theory tried and should have done more to
help Bartleby. The theory of a social contract is an agreement among individuals of a society in
order to cooperate for social benefits. This theory became popular in the sixtieth century, seventh
century, and eightieth century, especially among the leading theorists of their time such as Thomas
Hobbes, John Locke, and Jean Jacques Rousseau. These theorists used this as a means of explaining
the birth of government and the responsibility of the people. In Bartleby, the Scrivener, this

shopping on an internet site for toys, the option to filter these toys as girl toys and boy toys is

SAT Testing Research Paper
SAT test preparation might not produce desired results if it does not teach you strategies to solve
problems in the right way. Most students who undergo SAT test preparation are pretty familiar
with the SAT test pattern. Being good at one of the sections does not guarantee a good SAT exam
score. To aid you in your SAT test
preparation let me share with you a few strategies that I also use
in my tutoring.
Let us talk about the Math section first. The SAT test, according to many, carries complex math
problems. This is far from being true. Actually, SAT math consists of basic math questions. Unlike
many other tests, the SAT does not ask questions from pre calculus, calculus or trigonometry. This
does not at all mean that you would encounter

Taking a Look at ANSYS
1.Introduction
1.1ANSYS
ANSYS is a software package that allows various simulations in a range of different fields and
industries to be modelled and analysed. The main fields within the program include, computational
fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, and electromagnetics to mention a few. The use of this
software allows an individual or business to test various cases of product use, eliminating the
outlay cost of building and testing many prototypes. This saves on time and costs and is a lot
faster and more accurate then computing a hand analysis. In certain circumstances it allows for
test cases that would otherwise not be possible to set up in a lab [1] [2].
1.1.1Brief History of ANSYS
Modern finite element method may be traced back as early as the 1900 s with the first models
being represented and calculated by means of discrete equivalent elastic bars. The individual that
has been credited with developing the finite element method is R. Courant. He made use of
piecewise polynomial interpolation over triangular sub regions to analyse problems involving
torsion [3].
Boeing was the first major company to make use of triangular stress elements to model their
airplane wings during the years from 1950 1962. It was during the 1960 s that the finite element
method use was broadened to other industries including heat transfer. ANSYS was officially
released in 1971 [3]. It was not until 1995 when Microsoft released Windows 95, which the

Overpopulation In America
In the first part of the book, the author talks about how we are changing our relationship with the
world, and these changes that the author discusses potentially widened our ingenuity gap. The
ingenuity gap, is between our supply and requirement for ingenuity. Population increasing, meso
scale, and emergent properties, they are the changes that people made to this world. However, how
these changes widen our ingenuity gap? Population increasing has a big effect on society,
environment and natural resources. Through them, population can make a huge influence on
ingenuity gap; meso scale makes us unable to see the outside world and we cannot come up with
the new ideal; emergent properties make the problem more complex, so it is becoming more... Show

Meso scale makes people not able to see the outside world, people cannot come up with the new
solution without seeing the problem. City is a good example of a meso scale, and in the city
people see little soil or they don t see it at all. One way notice the soil is when it gets you dirty.
Though, the soil doesn t only get you dirty, It is very important for us. However, because of the
meso scale most of us cannot see the importance. Without the soil people can t plant crops, build
houses,or even drive car. Of course ,it is possible to use fertilizer to grow the crops ,still there is
no bacteria in fertilizer and the fertilizer can t help the crops handle their waste. In the soil there
are countless bacteria and worms to help the crops handle their waste and convert them to
nutrient that help a lot for the crops. Unfortunately, in the city most of people don t know about
the soil. Anything is that outside of the world, it is always very small or very large for people.
Our Milky Way Galaxy s diameter is about 120 thousands light year. It means if we use the
fastest speed which is light speed, it will take 120 thousands years to cross the galaxy. In the city
most of us don t know this. Of course, we can learn these things by internet. However, it is only for
particular interest groups and communities. And don t forget, there are many of countries or areas

Research Paper on Planning Organization
Introduction Managing companies in the 21st century has changed in many ways compared to the
managing system used in the olden days. Starting from the structure of the organization itself, how
they plan, how they make decision, up until how they doing things; but one thing that has not
changed is that organizations which perform with an outstanding result never neglect their
planning. Each organization competes with each other to perform better in accordance to others.
These changes are made in order to form a better organization each day as well as better results at
the end of all progress. This essay will examine why organizations that fail to plan are in essence

Confectionary uses their organizational planning to give them direction as well as set standards
in accordance to its competitors (Robbins et al 2003). In general terms, planning can be referred
to in two ways: formal and informal. Formal planning means concentrating on the achievement of
the goals. Simple thing such as setting a period of time to achieve that goal and writing down a
list can be shared by throughout the organizational structure so everyone knows what they have to
do, where they have to go also have something to refer back to while they are at it. Informal
planning is the reverse of the formal planning which is usually present in a small business or
organization. Informal planning is not as well organized because it is not written and there is
limited sharing among individuals due to an abstract form of it. This shows that formal planning is
addressed for a bigger organizational structure that

Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games
When speaking of mythology, the generally accepted idea is that one is referencing ancient or old
stories. However, the archives of mythology are continually growing. Through new versions of
older tales and new mythologies being created, modern civilization continues to add to the global
mythology anthology. A popular trend in modern society is the adaption of older tales into modern
terms to better suit the changing audience. From Jane Austin to Ovid, Homer to Shakespeare, the
myths and stories of the past are continually reworked by modern authors and filmmakers. The
worldwide bestselling novels, The Hunger Games, are an excellent example of how ancient myths
can be source material for modern tales tailored to modern tastes and needs.... Show more content

In Greek mythology, king Minos of Crete forced the Athenians to send seven boys and girls every
nine years to become victims of the Minotaur (a monster with the body of a man, and the head of
a bull) who lived in the labyrinth of Crete. The reasons for this tribute vary by the version of the
myth. Athens was to make these sacrifices in order to avert further war with Create. The prince
of Attica, Theseus, decides to put an end to the practice and volunteers to be the seventh boy sent
to Crete. Theseus, with the help of king Minos daughter, was able to slay the Minotaur, escape
the labyrinth, and thereby free Athens (Sakoulas). Ms. Collins was also greatly influenced by the
Roman Empire, the Coliseum and the concepts of districts and panem et circenses. The Latin
phrase, which translates to bread and circuses , is the work of Roman satirist Juvenal and
references the Roman Empire s model for pacification of the people by diverting/entertaining
them. (Cunningham). There are many parallels within The Hunger Games to the myth of Theseus
such as a lost war against an authoritarian power or nation (i.e. Crete and the Capitol), tributes
being collected and being comprised of equal numbers of each gender, the hero volunteering to
serve as a tribute, the tributes being taken to the new city which is vastly different from their
home and sent into the area/maze to die, a Love interest helps the hero to survive the arena/maze,
and that the Hero continues to have trials or troubles even after their return (Katniss and Peeta are
targeted by the capitol as rebels, Theseus forgot to change his sails, etc.). These shared generalities
allow for a clear example of how ancient myths still carry relevant themes in the modern

Example Of Attachment
There were many classic studies that were taught through out the video.
When it comes to attachment, it is said that it is the basis for human relationships in all societies.
Attachment is the emotional touch between two people. In the video, to study the experiment of
attachment, they used the example of an infant and its mother. The infant and mother were taken
into a room, the mother sat down and let the child explore and check out the room. A stranger then
comes in the room, starts interacting with the child and the mom leaves the room. During that first
separation between the mother and child, the child stopped playing, realized her mother was no
longer in the room and then felt the need of attachment. The child ran to the door, crying. ... Show

The next round of separation happens and the mother just walks out of the room this time, leaving
the child alone for a short time. The child starts crying and runs to the door. The stranger returns
and tries to calm the child. The mother returns again for the second reunion, picks up the child and
the child is calmed down again, due to attachment. During this study, the way the child reacted, is a
way that any child would typically act if this were to happen because attachment is physical and
emotional. When the mother leaves, the child has emotional attachment to her and wants her back,
the child has no attachment to the stranger so she isn t calmed down by the stranger. John Bowlby,
the founder of attachment, says that secure attachment is vital for good psychological
development. The experiment that is used for this study is unnecessary emotional stress the study
would be putting on the child, which could also lead to lack of trust between the mother and child.
Having the mother and child participate in this research is right as long as they have full
disclosure on what the study is that they are going to be participating in. They should be able to
quit at any time if they wanted to. They

Emile Durkheim s View Of Religion
There are a numerous amount of different perspectives when concerning religions and myths. One
example is Emile Durkheim whose perspective of religion was that it was a social component of
human beings. He suggested that people got their regions ideas, were taught how to carry out their
rituals and developed their ideals as a result of their socialization. He believed that there were no
false religions and added that religionquite dominated over its followers and made them dependent
on it.
Durkheim tried to distinguish between religion and magic. He suggested that religious or sacred
things are special and that commonplace things are profane. Magic rituals he claimed were just
social events. Religious ideas were created while rituals were being performed causing many
emotional participates to feel the presence of unseen beings among them, which was Durkheim s
idea of a sacred world. Durkheim stated that there is no church of magic and that there was no
lasting bond between the magician and his audience. A church binds the group together and a moral
community because participates believe in the same god or participate in the same cult. ... Show

Edward Tylor an English Scholar, defined religion as the belief in spiritual beings. He offered
the theory that these beliefs came from dreams and that the dreamer was somewhere between
the living and the dead. He suggested this is where the idea of souls originated. This evolved
into the beliefs of spirits which needed scarifies. This would cause the spirits to grant favors to
the ones performing the sacrifices. The sacrifices then became rituals. Tylor believes that science
would cause religion to disappear. This in effect caused polytheism to be born. If it was not for
polytheism, monotheism would not have been developed. Tylor s theory was that if society

The seatbelt laws are in a lot of different states and there is a variety of people that could die from

hardly any kids there that may actually get hurt as much as they do in Tennessee and some of the
states may actually have a Primary seat belt law in this country but majority of the people that are

19 states have secondary laws. New Hampshire has enacted neither a primary nor a secondary seat
belt law for adults, although the state does have a primary child passenger safety law that covers
children under 18.
States with secondary enforcement average only 63 percent belt use. But states with primary

Financial Stability In African American Life Essay
Financial stability is a problem that still badly impacts people and it is hurting their lives.
Believe it or not, in recent years it has been reported that African American completely are behind
on the financial stability status and being able to be financially free. Not many people are aware
that there is such problem because it usually does not happen to them. African Americans on the
other hand, have been targeted by the same discrimination for many decades. For many decades
African Americans have lived with the lack of possibility of being financially free and have yet to
achieve it because many things like; jobs, housing, paying bills and living from check to check
hold them back. Minorities are often held back by the fact that they have other responsibilities...

People often have problems with being able to get out of poverty because they don t know how
to handle or control where their money goes. These problems root from the family; a person s
family is a big contributor to how a person decides to save money and whether or not they come
from an impoverished environment. At a young age a person learns how to save money, be
responsible, and spend just want is needed. Also, if a person is born into poverty that may dictate
many things for the future because this way everything will be more difficult; this is more common
in African Americanhouseholds all over the country. It could be very difficult to come out of
poverty and become financially free, it s possible but it s difficult.
Consequently, African Americans cannot succeed because they don t receive equal treatment.
They don t receive the same possibilities and chances as people from other races. In recent years
this problem had been close highlighted, but it has never solved. It hasn t been solved because
people don t necessarily realize that this problem is very important. It is important because if

Sourcing Strategy at General Mills
Developing a sourcing strategy is vital with my new buyer position at General Mills. I need to
consider what General Mills is looking for and what best suits their company.
The first step I need to take in developing a sourcing strategy is to conduct an assessment of
General Mills current spending. According to General Mills Annual Report, the payments due in
2014 are $3,844,200. This amount includes long term debt, accrued interest, operating leases,
capital leases, and purchase obligations. At this time, General Mills can expect to spend $2,730.70
on cocoa each month.
The second step will be assessing the supply market and discovering who offers what. General
Mills is a member of the World Cocoa Foundation, which helps create contact with cocoa farmers,
origin governments, and environmental organizations. It is very important to consider
environmentally and labor friendly options when developing my sourcing strategy for cocoa beans.
General Mills does not want to risk partnering with an unethical cocoa farmer who violates labor
laws using young children or putting the workers through harsh conditions.
Next I will need to conduct a total cost analysis to see how much it would be to purchase cocoa.
The monthly cost of cocoa beans fluctuates monthly. In January, 2010 cocoa beans were being
sold at their highest $3,525.12. Currently, cocoa beans are sold for $2,730.20. It may be wise to
purchase a larger amount of cocoa beans when the cost of them declines, to save

Why Is Nietzsche God Is Not Dead
God s not dead and we did not kill him, Nietzsche did. Nietzsche comes up with a claim that God
is dead. He supports this claim by describing a madman frantically running around town looking
for an honest person, he is looking for God. Their responses are laughter assuming the man is
crazy. The madman eventually comes to the conclusion that humanity is unaware of the death of
God and its significance. The significance will take time to reach the people. Nietzsche s way of
saying God is deadis a way of claiming freedom over his own life and trying to bandwagon others
on to it. He feels the need to not have to obey any higher authority and in this he starts a movement
of free will and justifies it by attempting to bring other people along with him. While Nietzsche can
make convincing claims about the death of God, God is not dead.... Show more content on

Well from Nietzsche s stand point God being dead means there are no longer any moral values
that we would need to follow. Humanity has turned away from obedience and has started to find
its own way in life. We no longer need someone to look to or to put our hope in. He even makes
the point that the believers are living as if God is dead. But are they really believers if they aren
t following the practices? Nietzsche brings a sense of freedom into the equation, Indeed, at
hearing the news old god is dead , we philosophers and free spirits feel illuminated by a new dawn;
our heart overflows with gratitude, amazement, forebodings, expectation finally the horizon seems
clear again, even if not bright; finally our ships may set out again... Nietzsche isn t arguing that
God is dead and for atheism, he is arguing from it. It is taken as a starting point, not a destination.
He isn t trying to show us God doesn t exist; he is simply saying God can t be taken seriously
because of the chaos in the

Hardin Summary
Hardin refers to the commons with its natural resources, an area that we all share, access, and use
providing there is enough for all. The resources of the commons include such things as open
waters, clean air, as well as forest land preserves. He illustrates, through a parable of animals
grazing in an open pasture of the commonground, for everyone to use and dare I say abuse. The
herdsmen of the said grazing flocks are driven to increase their herds on the commons, in which to
grow personal wealth. This leads to numerous problems for both animal and user as quantities
exceed the lands carrying capacity of the commons, as this land degrades and compromises the
needs of future generations. He suggests we abandon the commons in food gathering

  • 2. The Godfather Opening Scene Essay The Godfather is the story of Vito and Michael Corleone. Michael is the son of Vito who is the Don of the Corleone mafia crime family. The Godfather depicts how an orphaned Sicilian immigrant rises to the top of organized crime in America and how his son, who at first shuns his father s world, embraces his father s way of life after the attempted murder on his father. Mise en scene paints the picture of a film and is also known as what is on the stage. At the beginning of The Godfather, the movie starts at in darkness with the words of the undertaker being heard saying, I believe in America. We then see the undertaker come into frame. The low key lighting on the face of the undertaker casts a dark shadow over the entire scene and immediately makes the audience feel the despair and fear coming from him. The benefit from the lighting of the opening scene is that it sets the stage for the violent and criminal nature of the film. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One in particular that focuses on the use of sound and music is the restaurant scene where Michael kills the family s rival gangster Sollozzo and corrupt police captain, McCluskey. Coppola makes two main choices with the sound to create tension in the scene. He chooses not to include music in the scene and exaggerates key sound effects to heighten Michael s emotional state. As the three of the men sit down, the first sound you hear is the pop of the cork being twisted off the wine bottle. It is an exaggerated sound and much louder than anything else that is being heard inside the restaurant but it sets the tone for the scene as if to say to listen more closely. Sollozzo and Michael starts talking in Italian but you aren t provided with any subtitles so unless you know Italian, you don t really know what they are saying. As a result, you pay more attention to how things are being said and the body language being used. You re listening to the sound of the language, not the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Representation Of Helen In Euripides Women Of Troy The representation of Helen in Homer s work and with how she is depicted in Euripides Women of Troy enables the reader to understand different perspectives of Helen s personality seen throughout both texts. Furthermore, these comparative methods in both texts will raise questions and awareness to the depiction of Helen. In this essay, I will explore the perspective of how Euripides displays a harsher judgement of Helen than in Homer s text. Firstly, Helen was one of the most inspired characters in The Iliad. Helen was depicted as powerless, beautiful and an object. After Paris taking Helen home, she realizes that Paris is not able to realize the consequences of her disobedience. Homer allows the reader to understand that Helen s decisions are made for her. For instance, Aphrodite s involvement in the duel on Helen s behalf triggered Helen s thoughts on blaming the g ds for the war. By blaming Aphrodite, Helen shows her disrespect for the g ds. However, Helen does not have a choice when she faces her decisions. For example, Aphrodite s ordered her to return to the bedroom and make love with Paris. Helen rebelled and later on, Aphrodite enraged told her to not provoke [her]... or in [her] immortal rage [she] may just toss [her] over, hate [her] as [she] adores [her] with a vengeance (Iliad, 3. 480 482). Secondly, Homer enables the reader to understand that Helen s guilt and terrible beauty is cursed and he is not depicting her harshly. In addition, the g ds did not allow ... • 4. Marfan Syndrome Characteristics Marfan syndrome is a genetic condition that affects the human body s connective tissues, or the muscular system (Braverman 2017). The symptoms of this syndrome can vary from being moderate to life threatening. Some symptoms of Marfan Syndrome are having abnormally long fingers, legs, and arms, that are disproportionate with a person s height (Adamec 2005). Having joints that move past the limit of a regular person is another symptom. Someone with Marfan Syndrome may also have scoliosis, which is the rounding or arch of the spine. Another trait of Marfan syndrome is pectus excavatum or sunken chest and pectus carinatum, which is the protrusion of the chest (Adamec 2005). The life threatening symptoms of this genetic disorder involve the heart. A person with Marfan syndrome can have leakage of the heart valves or weakness in the aorta. These symptoms can result in heart disease or aneurysm, which can make death early (Turkington 2004). Since Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder, people who have this condition are born with it. One parent has to have this disease in order for their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, cautious medical management can help prolong and make better the prognosis of someone with this genetic condition (Turkington 2004). In order to prevent life threatening symptoms, refraining from physical activity should be considered because it will prevent any stress being put on the aorta. An annual test called, Echocardiogram, should be scheduled because it can monitor the function and size of the aorta and heart (Turkington 2004). Another treatment involving the cardiovascular system is the removal and replacement of the aortic root. This procedure decreases the chances of getting heart disease if you are afflicted with the disorder (Adamec 2005). If problems with the eyes is a symptom developed with Marfan syndrome, eye exams with an ophthalmologist should be periodic and regularly (Turkington ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. 8th Grade Singing Hello, There are quite a few pedagogical reasons why Rachel and I have decided to combine both choirs. Below are just a few. My 8th grade boys were having a hard time singing do to voice changes. I tried to keep the boys up in their falsetto and while this worked for a few boys the others we not able to produce certain notes. When boys voices start to change it can result in them only being able to sing a very limited amount of notes. We worked on high trills, sliding, humming, yawning, held long tones, among many of other to help support their changing voices. After our first concert I talked with my boys and they had mentioned that they felt very discouraged about singing because some of them simply are not producing notes or can only sing in a low rumble. Rachel mentioned to me that her boys were just starting to transition and she was noticing large gaps in her group as well. Combining both groups would result in a higher confidence level, tone production, and create a full choir sound. This is one of the reasons why we combined the groups. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although our Planned Course document does not differentiate between grade levels it is known in the musical world that 8th grade choir should be able to sing in easy three part harmony by the end of the year. Seventh graders are just being introduced into it by the end. The 8th graders have taken on the bulk of the three part harmony however having a small number of students and a group of boys with ever changing voices makes 3 part harmony almost impossible. To promote healthy singing and a confident choir it is important for them to be combined. Because the music is more difficult it will encourages the 7th graders to rise to the level of the 8th graders so when I have these students next year they have a great ... • 6. Religion And Spirituality On The United States Of America... Religion and spirituality have been complex issues in the United States of America. This is especially true when it comes to Native Americans. Since the 16th century, contact between Native Americans and Europeans has been filled with both good and bad. In this paper, the issue of religion and spirituality and how they figure into the story of Indian European contact between the 16th and 21st centuries will be discussed. The people of the Eastern Woodlands held beliefs about the human, natural, and supernatural worlds. The people believed that there was no line between the human and natural worlds. In some languages, animals were referred to as people. Humans were referred to as extra people, or people people. They also believed there was no line between the natural and supernatural worlds. They also had in their beliefs the idea of manitou. Manitou roughly translates to spirit in English. They believed there was manitou in everything in the human, natural, and supernatural worlds. They believed there was power in the natural world itself. In a reading done in class, Farmers of the Woodlands, written by Peter Nabokov and Dean Snow, there is discussion of the religious and spiritual beliefs of the people who lived in the Eastern Woodlands. For the Penobscot bands, they had the spiritual belief of totems. These totems were animals. They believed the totems were the ancestors to the people of the band. Trenchless Replacement Research Paper Your Options For Repairing A Sewer System With A Collapsed Line If your toilet won t flush or if there is sewage backing up in your yard, there is a problem with your sewer line. The first step is to see if it is clogged. There could be grease, hair, and paper clogging the line or it could be full of tree roots. A more serious problem is a collapsed sewer line. If the pipe has collapsed, the only way to repair your system is to replace the line. A contractor will dig up the old line and replace it or perform a trenchless replacement. Here are the differences between these two methods. Digging A Trench Digging up the old sewer pipe and replacing it with a new one requires the contractor to rip out part of your yard. While this is a very... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first method is by pipe bursting. The contractor digs a hole at each end of your sewer line. Then a new pipe is threaded in one hole and pulled through the other end using a wench and hook. The new pipe busts up the old pipe as it is pulled through. The second trenchless method is pipe relining. With this method, the contractor leaves the old pipe in place. A liner is forced through the pipe and then inflated. Once the liner is inflated, it hardens in place and creates a new pipe inside the old one. This method will only work if the original pipe is in fairly good shape. If a large part of it has collapsed, it won t be physically possible to push the liner through. Deciding Which Method To Use Your contractor has to assess the condition of your sewer pipe to determine which is the best method to use to repair your sewer system. If large sections of the pipe are crumbled and collapsed, or if the pipe makes sharp turns underground, then trenchless repair methods may not be possible. The contractor will probably do a video inspection of the line first to determine the layout and condition of the damaged ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Similarities Between Columbus And Charles Lindbergh This essay will include the journeys of Christopher Columbus and Charles Lindbergh when they d gone across the Atlantic Ocean. They both made a mark in history, but what did they do? In this essay, the similarities and differences between their journeys will be discussed, as well as the 400 year gap between them. Their hopes that they wanted to accomplish, challenges they faced, and skills that they had used to help with the success of their journeys will also be included. Christopher Columbus and Charles Lindbergh both went across the Atlantic, so that is a start for similarities. More similarities between their journeys included the facts that both men were looked at differently after achieving their goals. People respected them and felt hope instead of being weary of what the world held. Charles Lindbergh and Christopher Columbus both faced many challenges when crossing that great expanse of water, but they both succeeded. Though both men went across the Atlantic Ocean, they did differ on lots of things. Most differences are simple to point out; the other ones require some thinking. It would be impossible to expect the educational system to completely change the way children are learning to read, but the system must make small, quick changes over a short period of time to encompass the use of the phonics approach. Not all children have the same learning capabilities, and that is one of the main arguments against phonics. Many people in opposition say that not all children can learn from the phonics approach. What people opposed to phonics do not understand is that phonics can be incorporated into the learning process along with whole language to ensure a balance and complete understanding of the English language (Unkown, 1994). With whole language as the basis to the learning process, I believe that the schools are giving out good grade cards to children who are good at guessing and memorizing words. In this novel, Hawthorne includes many symbols to display hidden meanings, including character symbols to wake up the reader. Irony is an important element as well, used to reveal the hypocrisy of humankind. The Scarlet Letteris a unique blend of characters, irony and symbolism. Hester Prynne is first described in the scaffold scene as, tall, with a figure of perfect elegance on a large scale. Bartleby went through isolation and solitude, which in the end, these painful things exhausted him. In Bartleby, the Scrivener, one of the implicit ideas that Herman Melville wrote about is a theory called a social contract. The social contract is where a person contributes to society, while society contributes to the person. This fits in Bartleby because the lawyer tried to help Bartleby by offering him a job, a possible bonus, and a possible place of living. In Bartleby, the Scrivener, there should have been several things that society, beside the lawyer, to help Bartleby. In conclusion, the social contract was an important factor in this story; Bartleby owed adjusting his attitude to society, while society owed helping Bartleby; and this social contract can be amended for mercy and brotherhood. The social contract was an important factor because this theory tried and should have done more to help Bartleby. The theory of a social contract is an agreement among individuals of a society in order to cooperate for social benefits. This theory became popular in the sixtieth century, seventh century, and eightieth century, especially among the leading theorists of their time such as Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Jean Jacques Rousseau. These theorists used this as a means of explaining the birth of government and the responsibility of the people. In Bartleby, the Scrivener, this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main fields within the program include, computational fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, and electromagnetics to mention a few. The use of this software allows an individual or business to test various cases of product use, eliminating the outlay cost of building and testing many prototypes. This saves on time and costs and is a lot faster and more accurate then computing a hand analysis. In certain circumstances it allows for test cases that would otherwise not be possible to set up in a lab [1] [2]. 1.1.1Brief History of ANSYS Modern finite element method may be traced back as early as the 1900 s with the first models being represented and calculated by means of discrete equivalent elastic bars. The individual that has been credited with developing the finite element method is R. Courant. He made use of piecewise polynomial interpolation over triangular sub regions to analyse problems involving torsion [3]. Boeing was the first major company to make use of triangular stress elements to model their airplane wings during the years from 1950 1962. It was during the 1960 s that the finite element method use was broadened to other industries including heat transfer. ANSYS was officially released in 1971 [3]. It could be very difficult to come out of poverty and become financially free, it s possible but it s difficult. Consequently, African Americans cannot succeed because they don t receive equal treatment. They don t receive the same possibilities and chances as people from other races. In recent years this problem had been close highlighted, but it has never solved. It hasn t been solved because people don t necessarily realize that this problem is very important. It is important because if people realize and understand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Sourcing Strategy at General Mills Developing a sourcing strategy is vital with my new buyer position at General Mills. I need to consider what General Mills is looking for and what best suits their company. The first step I need to take in developing a sourcing strategy is to conduct an assessment of General Mills current spending. According to General Mills Annual Report, the payments due in 2014 are $3,844,200. This amount includes long term debt, accrued interest, operating leases, capital leases, and purchase obligations. At this time, General Mills can expect to spend $2,730.70 on cocoa each month. The second step will be assessing the supply market and discovering who offers what. General Mills is a member of the World Cocoa Foundation, which helps create contact with cocoa farmers, origin governments, and environmental organizations. It is very important to consider environmentally and labor friendly options when developing my sourcing strategy for cocoa beans. General Mills does not want to risk partnering with an unethical cocoa farmer who violates labor laws using young children or putting the workers through harsh conditions. Next I will need to conduct a total cost analysis to see how much it would be to purchase cocoa. The monthly cost of cocoa beans fluctuates monthly. In January, 2010 cocoa beans were being sold at their highest $3,525.12. Currently, cocoa beans are sold for $2,730.20. It may be wise to purchase a larger amount of cocoa beans when the cost of them declines, to save ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Why Is Nietzsche God Is Not Dead God s not dead and we did not kill him, Nietzsche did. Nietzsche comes up with a claim that God is dead. He supports this claim by describing a madman frantically running around town looking for an honest person, he is looking for God. Their responses are laughter assuming the man is crazy. The madman eventually comes to the conclusion that humanity is unaware of the death of God and its significance. The significance will take time to reach the people. Nietzsche s way of saying God is deadis a way of claiming freedom over his own life and trying to bandwagon others on to it. He feels the need to not have to obey any higher authority and in this he starts a movement of free will and justifies it by attempting to bring other people along with him. While Nietzsche can make convincing claims about the death of God, God is not dead.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Well from Nietzsche s stand point God being dead means there are no longer any moral values that we would need to follow. Humanity has turned away from obedience and has started to find its own way in life. We no longer need someone to look to or to put our hope in. He even makes the point that the believers are living as if God is dead. But are they really believers if they aren t following the practices? Nietzsche brings a sense of freedom into the equation, Indeed, at hearing the news old god is dead , we philosophers and free spirits feel illuminated by a new dawn; our heart overflows with gratitude, amazement, forebodings, expectation finally the horizon seems clear again, even if not bright; finally our ships may set out again... Nietzsche isn t arguing that God is dead and for atheism, he is arguing from it. It is taken as a starting point, not a destination. He isn t trying to show us God doesn t exist; he is simply saying God can t be taken seriously because of the chaos in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Hardin Summary Hardin refers to the commons with its natural resources, an area that we all share, access, and use providing there is enough for all. The resources of the commons include such things as open waters, clean air, as well as forest land preserves. He illustrates, through a parable of animals grazing in an open pasture of the commonground, for everyone to use and dare I say abuse. The herdsmen of the said grazing flocks are driven to increase their herds on the commons, in which to grow personal wealth. This leads to numerous problems for both animal and user as quantities exceed the lands carrying capacity of the commons, as this land degrades and compromises the needs of future generations. He suggests we abandon the commons in food gathering ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
