Benefits Of Early Childhood Education Essay

Benefits of Early Childhood Education The earlier you enrich a child s life with an education, the
greater the outcome will be in the future. Parents are the first teachers of young children. Children
acquire their knowledge and actions from observing their parents. That is how their minds develop
and how they obtain certain skills. They learn the basis of reading and writing skills at young ages.
Having an early education helps later down the road with saving money. Early Childhood
Education leads to social and emotional development, increased literacy, and fiscal savings. The
first outcome of early childhood Education is social and emotional development. The key to a
critical foundation for lifelong learning and development is positive social and emotional
development (Social Emotional Development). Social and emotional development helps to
navigate young children in supportive relationships with other young children (Social Emotional ...

Having a high education is one of the largest factors for saving money and helping the economy.
Children with a higher literacy rate pay fewer taxes, earn more money, and are less susceptible
to commit a crime (Calman and Tarr Whelan 2). Having children with a good background in
school helps the economy. These children are more likely to get jobs, work efficiently, and buy
things (Calman and Tarr Whelan 2). By being educated you save money and with that money they
are able to buy things they want, which boost the economy. Children that have an early education
save time and money by not needing extra or special classes that can be costly (Calman and Tarr
Whelan 4). Inadequate education in young children leads to excessive spending that is not
necessary or is unsuccessful (Trostel 1). Not only does an early education give development and
literacy skills, it also helps you save money down the

Jonathan Sewall vs John Adams
Jonathan Sewall and John Adams were close friends and agreed on many issues. British policies
towards the American colonies during the 1760s and 1770s, however, was not one of them. Sewall,
a staunch supporter of authority, defended British policies. John Adams, on the contrary, believed
the policies to be unjust and thus challenged British authority. Sewall believed that the colonial
challenge to British authority threatened the very way of life in the colonies while Adams thought
that British authority provided a bigger threat. Each man s view of the cause of the revolution also
differed.
Sewall defended British Authority by stating that, Man is a social Animal and that without authority

When people write persuasive essays and articles they often use images and wording to help
express what they wish to get across to the reader. Jonathan Sewall and John Adams were very
skilled in doing this and could thus write extremely convincing arguments. Both used vibrant details
when describing their ideas so that they would be presented in a clear and favorable light.
Sewall and Adams were able to vividly describe images, in order to create a picture in the minds
of the readers. Sewall used dramatic words to describe his feelings such as, It is in vain to think
any longer of drawing them to such a pitch is the Frenzy now raised, that the Colonists will never
yield Obedience to the Laws of the parent State, till, by Experience, they are taught to fear her
power. Adams also used his diction to his advantage when defending his position. But it is honestly
confessed, rather than become subject to the absolute authority of parliament, in all cases of
taxation and internal polity, they will be driven to throw off that of regulating trade. By using
words like these, both Sewall and Adams, were able to express their ideas more effectively to their
intended audience.

The Age Of White Collar Crime
Welcome to the age of white collar crime. A time when the words thieves and businessmen go
hand in hand. White collar criminals don t get their hands dirty in their work. They use their heads
to get what they want instead of using a little muscle. These criminals are just as dangerous as the
rapists and murderers. In these times, even the most seemingly respectable people are suspected of
white collar crimes.
President Clinton and the first lady Hillary Clinton have been tangled up in the Whitewater and
Travelgate business ventures. Although the two have not been formally charged with any
wrongdoing, there is a committee currently investigating their dealings and charges are not out of
the question for either of them. In Michael Isikoff s and Mark Hosenball s Newsweek article
Cracks in the Wall, they describe the Clintons dealings with Whitewater and the possible
consequences of them: The Senate Whitewater committee is considering asking for perjury charges
against Susan Thomas and Maggie Williams, Mrs. Clintons chief of staff, in connection with her
testimony about the removal of documents from Vince Foster s office (Isikoff 29). This case goes
to show that there presently a growing problem with our country, and it is called white collar crime.
White collar crimes are very numerous in kind.
New ones are always being invented by someone with a good scam. Embezzlement, tax evasion,
and fraud are some of the more popular kinds. A person who has the power of

Greek Influence On Roman Society
Thanks to our course, it teaches me something I didn t know before. This week, what I learnt was
ancient Greek actually forged Roman society and its past glories. Apart from their historical
connections, it turned out Greek was an inspiration for Roman s outstanding achievements, to an
extent, if the proverb all roads lead to Rome presents this city state s central position in Antiquity, I
will think Roman s success owed its origin to Greek, to say the least. In my opinion, Greecewas the
true begetter of Roman empires economic and political miracles.
Although the two are both Mediterranean countries, but Greece had a major influence on the
development of Roman arts, governmental system, literature, and many more. In a way, Romans
internalized a set of Greek values which they ingeniously conflated Greek traditional charm with
Roman local idioms, then continuously built on that solid foundation and made some exciting
breakthroughs thereafter.
In addition, as Noreen Gunnell (2012) indicated, ancient Romans loved all things Greek. In the
highest form of flattery, the Romans copied Greek architecture, sculpture, and mythology...the
Roman god and myths are the Greek gods and myths...the Romans were enamored by all things

The Importance Of Miranda Warnings
Juveniles, particularly younger juveniles, are unable to comprehend the Miranda warning, and, by
extension, exercise their Miranda rights, for biological reasons, specifically their developmental
immaturity. According to Rogers et al. s study (Rogers, Blackwood, Fidducia, Steadham, Drogin,
Rogstad 2012), Miranda warnings are inherently incomprehensible to juveniles because they
demand an advanced level of reading comprehension most often not yet attained by the juveniles.
The study consolidated a sum of 293 juvenile Miranda warnings issued in 238 counties in 38 states
and used the Flesch Kincaid, a commonly accepted estimate of grade level used in other Miranda
related research and that corresponds with standardized reading tests, to gauge grade level
estimates. Rogers et al. found that 2.2% of Miranda waivers were written at a college graduate
level, 5.2% necessitated some college preparation, and 52.1% of Miranda warnings necessitated at
least an eighth grade education, which poses a significant threat to particularly underserved preteen
suspects. Only 7.3% of juvenile warnings were marked as easily comprehensible or at below a fifth
grade education level, which would optimize juvenile comprehension. It s significant to note that
juveniles cannot then intelligently waive their Miranda rights if the language exceeds their reading
comprehension level. Grisso et al. demonstrate this understanding of juveniles developmental
immaturity in their comprehensive study concerning

Biblical Allusions In If This Is A Man By Primo Levi
In the memoir If This Is A Man Primo Levi offers an insight into his life during the brutal and
inhuman acts inflicted upon the Jews by the SS Soldiers during the Holocaust. Levi tells the story
of his experiences in the Auschwitz concentration camp, and the divisions between his fellow
haftlinge and the German soldiers due to the significant differences between languageand culture.
The results of extreme anti Semitism led to the dehumanisation and de socialization of the
prisoners, who often had limited understanding of the soldiers intentions. Further, the prisoners
were largely segregated due to the diverse nationalities, religions, and ethnicities. The prisoners

Dante is in the 8th circle of hell and encounters Ulysses, who retells his final voyage past the Pillars

circumstances are very similar. The idea of voyaging into the oceans unknown, describes the
prisoners uncertainty of their future, and the author uses this literary text to symbolise this. Levi
also relates Auschwitz to hell and this enforces the feeling of being destroyed by the perversity of
their captors, enabling Jean to empathize with him, despite the wan translation...He has received the

RE: People v. Sam Kant
OFFICE FILE NUMBER:HQ 22467
DOCKET NUMBER:09HQ9456
STATEMENT OF ASSIGNMENT: Sam Kant has requested that our office represent him in his
defense against shoplifting charges.
FACTS: Our client, Sam Kant, was arrested for shoplifting at Bilmart, a national department
store. At his wife s request, Mr. Kant went to Bilmart on Wednesday, October 20, 2008, and
purchased a case of six 4 oz. cans of Hoover s Baked Beans with Bacon. Upon returning home, his
wife chastised him for once again failing to purchase what she had requested. Apparently, Mrs.
Kant can t stand the taste of Hoover s Beans, but is very fond of the Handell s brand, and was
planning to serve them to her book club when she hosted them for lunch the following afternoon.
Mrs. Kant ordered her husband to return to Bilmart to exchange the Hoover s beans for Handell s
beans.
Upon arrival at the store early the next morning, Mr. Kant found that the line for customer service
was extremely long due to Bilmart s annual sponsorship of a major community food drive. In an
effort to save time, and thinking the line might be shorter upon his return, Mr. Kant placed the case
of Hoover s beans into a shopping cart, made his way through the store to the bean shelf, and then
added the case of Handell s beans to the cart. However, upon his return, the line had not diminished

spending so much money on buying tools or replacement of parts it s not all the time that you

seasoned contractor to reconstruction it for you. Also, spare parts may not be available right
away, and if you or a contractor can t get it fixed immediately, you can get stuck with a useless
garage door one that has gotten your car stuck inside or one that gets stuck halfway, which is
compromising the security of your family and your property, especially when your garage is
connected to your house. Naturally you have to take care of it; you paid a lot for garage door
installations. Your family members should not be an exception to this, they also have to learn to
use it properly and take care of it, including the controls, just in case they get stuck in the same
predicament and nobody s around to help them. Maintenance also includes properly educating

Asthma Research Paper
In this paper I will be discussing the effects of respiratory acidosis on the body. More specifically,
I will be discussing these effects in the relation to Asthma. I will describe the anatomical changes
and pathophysiology of the disease, explain how it effects elimination of carbon dioxide from the
airway, state the physiological compensation mechanisms and relate this condition back to
respiratory acidosis and its effect on the body.
Asthma is a respiratory disease that directly effects the trachea, bronchi and bronchioles causing
inflammation and swelling. Typically this is caused by a hyper response to allergens. Symptoms
usually include: wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness and coughing.
There are two different types of Asthma: The first is known as Atopic Asthma . This is usually
diagnosed in childhood and it is believed that genetics play a crucial role in obtaining the disease. In
Atopic Asthma when exposed to an allergen there is an excess release of immunoglobulin from B
lymphocytes. IgE binds to cells involved in the inflammation which results in bronchoconstriction
and inflammation of airways . (citation journal) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sustainable Development Is Possible For Academic Research
During the last eleven years my work in Belize has evidenced that sustainable development is
possible when academic research incorporates community direction, and recognizes local expertise
as a component in the formation of new knowledge. Indeed, we are able to manage problems and in
many cases improve lives by collaborating to undertake community driven and academically
supported initiatives. What is sometimes misunderstood in the context of academia, community
based research promotes the creation of new knowledge through multiple sources including
academia, local tacit expertise, and cultural context (Strand, Marullo, Cutforth, Stoecker, Donohue,
2003). Collaborative solutions to issues and challenges that work within the parameters of local
resources are paramount to sustainability. Moreover, sustainability is critical in effecting a lasting
improvement in the human condition. The projects that I implemented in December of 2014 and
December of 2015 particularly those directed at soilquality are indicators of the effectiveness and
sustainability of these collaborative efforts.
Although these projects may seem diverse, in the context of addressing the challenges of food
insecurity, poverty, lack of access to clean water, and environmental degradation; interdisciplinary
solutions in the framework of the integrated natural resource management model could be
employed to resolve these issues (Sanchez, Palm, Buol, 2003, p. 159). Agricultural communities

Similarities Between V For Vendetta And 1984
Overcome, Perish, 1984 and V for Vendetta
Alan Moore and George Orwell s stylistic writing choices and parallels between fascist
governments and the methods used to oppose them in their pieces V for Vendetta and 1984 with
the use of rhymes and television to represent a biased sense of view and salvation left in history,
and how the Party uses their own symbols to repress that salvation.
1984 and V for Vendetta both take place in a Great Britain controlled by a totalitarianistic society
with non conformist characters who take on that society with a unique approach. Winston Smith
uses a private rebellion between himself and Julia as his nonconformity against the Inner Party. In
V for Vendetta, however, V s take on resisting the NorsefireParty is very direct and outspoken to
the public. In their own ways, they both hide their hatred for the Party. Winston himself keeps
his meetings with Julia hush hush in Mr. Charrington s room, while V s identity is never
revealed, always wearing a mask. Symbols play a key role in establishing the stories of Winston
and V. 1984 s chant for the Brotherhood is the Oranges and Lemons English nursery rhyme
refers to the bells of churches in London that extends on by people who matter to Winston; and
everyone who betrays him. Mr. Charrington gives him the first piece, but is revealed to be a part
of the Thought Police, Julia, who betrays him at the end of it all before her mental death, and O
Brian, who instead of his savior becomes his torturer. The Fifth of November is also a rhyme
that s based off real events, referencing Guy Fawkes s failed plan to blow up the English
Parliament on November 5th, 1605. Both rhymes are tied into Great Britain and a passion that
varies between the protagonists, providing them with their only link to the past. Television is
also a main symbol for the government s control both the telescreens in 1984 and the telly in V
for Vendetta broadcast only the Party s views and bias. Gordon, a side character in V for Vendetta,
airs his uncensored skit on television as an unintentional way of oppressing the glorification of
Chancellor Sutler, before being killed and dragged away from his own home. The slogans for both

Financial Management Of The Healthcare Organization
Financial Ratios Analysis

MHA 612: Financial Managerial Accounting
Professor Jack Lazarre
October 27, 2014
The financial management of the healthcare organization needs to handle financial matters
carefully in order to perform well. Ratio analysis is a kind of financial statement analysis that is
utilized to get a fast indication of an organizations financial performance in most important sectors,
for that reason the healthcare organization must utilize ratio analysis to assess its financial position
and mere its performance. Health systems routinely compare their financial results to those of a
peer group of healthy competitors. Managers of most health organizations strive to achieve the
outcome of comparable healthy competitors, it is equally important to examine those unhealthy
competitors. By doing this managers can learn from their mistakes and know what to avoid in the
future. Mid level managers should ask themselves questions about the organization they are a part
of. Are we as an organization financially on track with similar healthy companies, or are we
headed for failure like some insolvent companies? Are certain financial ratios more sensitive and
predictive of failure? Ratio analysis is a strategy used to aid in assessing the financial position of an
health organization. In healthcare finance, there are a lot of financial ratios which have multiple
descriptions. This report focuses on roles and analysis financial ratios in a

African American Vernacular English Essay
For my project, I have many options that I am considering. Narrowing down will be difficult
because each has its own important information that I believe should be shared. One idea that I
came up with is to compare African American Vernacular English (AAVE) to American Standard
English. For example, the origins, grammar rules, words, articulation, and etc. Not only will I
compare them, but I will argue the legitimacy of AAVE with research. I m not advocating for
AAVE to overtake American Standard English, but I am supporting that AAVE should be looked
at as an official language like Spanish and French and be treated as such. No one should feel like
they are talking wrong nor should their language determine ones intelligences level, but in schools...

I also will counterargue many misconception, myths, and confusion when it comes to AAVE. My
second idea was comparing schools funding all over the St. Louis Greater Metro Area.
Comparing the schools funding will show the vast difference in funding. I will also provide
examples of more equitable system that bridge the gaps of funding. My third idea is tackling the
myth that urban parents don t want their children to succeed as much as parents from the
suburbia. This idea came to me in class when we were talking about charters schools and parents
having options, and one young lady was like yeah, the ones who actually want their kids to go to
school. That type of thinking is toxic and it is a microagression. This kind of blend in with my
fourth idea which is that going to better schools, especially if they are in the county, are not
always better. I said that because at better school one can feel like they don t belong and how
something about them is lacking. We can all agree that parents at all class levels who don t want
their children to succeed or go to school are a huge minority, yet with urban people problems like
this get overstated as if most have this problem which is simply not

A Brief Look at Geothermal Energy Essay
The power of electricity is available to anyone with a simple click of a button. The methods of
obtaining the energy used to develop that electricity are commonly debated topics. One of those
methods is using geothermal energy, or the Earth s naturally produced heat. There are plenty of
intriguing facts centered upon geothermal energy. For thousands of years, geothermal energy has
been used in some countries for heating and cooking ( Geothermal Energy Info 2). These
underground systems being used contain water with teperatures that can rise above 200 degrees
Celsius (430 degrees Fahrenheit) ( How Geothermal Energy Works 2). Italy used geothermal energy

These hot spots usually occur at thin spots in the Earth s crust or at tectonic plate boundaries (
How Geothermal Energy Works 2). Water circulates naturally in these seismically active
locations due to the large number of earthquakes in the area. ( How Geothermal Energy Works
2). Four forms of producing geothermal energy are currently available: dry steam, wet steam, hot
rocks, and geopressured deposits (Savage 22). To gain access to these resources, cooled water is
injected down a well where it circulates through fractured rocks and heats up. Once hot, the water
is sucked back up to the surface through another to be further processed into energy ( Geothermal
Energy 2). Dry steam sources are very practical for producing energy due to its very high
temperature and its ability to cause no corrosion to turbines and various types of other equipment
involved in the process (Savage 22). On the other hand, wet steam sources must be regularly
maintained because they do cause damage to the equipment if left unchecked. Despite this
drawback, it is a very useful way to generate energy (Savage 22). Hot rocks are tantalizing
geothermal sources, but water must be introduced artificially to the dry heat source to produce
steam or hot water (Savage 22). Geopressured deposits have been exploited for a very long time
because they are generally hotter than most underground water systems (Savage 22). Magma is,

Dark Age Ahead, By Jane Jacobs
In her novel, Dark Age Ahead, Jane Jacobs discusses why five pillars of society are in danger.
These five pillars are families rigged to fail, credentialing versus education, science abandoned, and
dumb downed taxes and self policing subverted. She goes into detail as to why each of these
sections of our society is struggling and is destined for a dark age. However, for the purpose of this
paper, I will focus on educationand my agreement as to how educational institutions are focusing on
credentialing its student instead of educating them. When entering a postsecondary education

These numbers can be frightening for students who have to take out loans to finance their
education. However, many students do not understand what is waiting for them after graduation.
Students are encouraged to pick a subject to study that interest them; although this is important,
students also need to look at the job opportunities available in that field of study. For example,
many young students aspire to become teachers, the job definitely has some perks, but finding a
full time job in teaching can be difficult. According to Maclean s 67 per cent of education
graduates from Ontario s class of 2009 found themselves unemployed or underemployed in the
following year (Dehaas 2011). When there are little to no job opportunities students begin to feel
the pressure and retreat back to what they know, school. Graduate school seems great and all, but
sometimes it is not the right track to take. Students accumulate more debt, become more specialized
and expect higher pay because of their higher education. The Economist reports, In Canada 80%

Specialized Connective Tissue Analysis
There is another type of dense fibrous connective tissue called aponeurosis. Its tendon like and
helps anchor and move muscles. The structure is similar to tendons and ligaments, there are
bundles of collagenous fibers with lots of fibroblasts ( Aponeurosis , 2015). The fibers run in
several directions. In the kneejoint the interosseous membrane of the leg is an aponeurosis that
creates a space for the vessels to run through. Specialized connective tissue consists of bone,
cartilage, bloodand adipose tissue. When looking at bone as a tissue we see that it is composed of
an extracellular matrix, a variety of cells, and minerals (Dunleavy, 2015). The extracellular matrix
is calcified, and most of the fibers are type 1 collagen. Almost all... Show more content on

Mechanic Career Research Paper
Mechanics are people who knows what is wrong with an automobile and how to fix one, There
are a lot of people in this career field, about 701,000 people are employed in this career in the
United States. Mechanics have quite a bit of duties to pursue, some of these duties are to identify
mechanical problem, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment. They also have to test
parts to make sure they all work properly. If they do not work properly they then explain to their
clients what automotive problems they are having, and inform them of the repairs they will make
and what the cost will be. Most Mechanicswork full time and many also work evenings or
weekends. Overtime is very common for this career. You can be either male or female to qualify
for this job field. You will also have to qualify with the education requirements. It will be required
to have a certificate for an automotive technology training program or 2 years in college, which is
an associate s degree. Anyone male or female could easily meet those qualifications if you put your
time into it.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Average annual salary for Mechanics is around $36,000 per year. That is a higher salary than most
average jobs that require a higher education. They make about $17.60 per hour, depending on your

home about $20,920 annually. Mechanics have many positions but, master mechanics can manage
all of the positions. Some of the positions would be a brake repairer, they adjust brakes, and handle
other repairs on brake systems. Another position would be front end mechanics, they balance and
align wheels, repair steering mechanisms and also suspension systems. There is also a transmission
technician and rebuilders, they work on couplings, hydraulic pumps, gear trains, and parts of

Book Review: Crawford, S. (2014). The Telecom Industry and Monopoly in Power in the New
Gilded Age. London, Brilliance Audio.
In the book, Captive Audience: The Telekom Industry and Monopoly Power in the New Gilded
Age, the Author, Susan Crawford is discussing how a decade ago, United States was the benchmark
for internet service provision. The U.S. boasted of the fastest internet speed, highest penetration
rates, and the lowest prices in the market. The United States was then recognized as a leading
knowledge economy. However, today, things have suddenly changed, a situation attributed towards
lackluster government legislations that have given rise to new monopolies hence allowing
countries such as Singapore, Japan, and Europe to overtake the U.S in terms of average broadband
speed, penetration rates, and prices. This backslide has not only deprived consumers premium
services and contents in a competitive global landscape, but also threatening to derail the country s
economic prospects.
According to Susan, who is the author of the book, she believes that once upon a time, she was
found in a fortunate position to decide on a television and internet package. Susan had a choice of
two companies to choose from, and these very companies provided broadband connectivity,
telephony services, and myriad of television channels than she could hardly afford to enjoy.

What Are The Causes Of Appeasement Cause Ww2
Throughout the end of the 1920s and the 1930s, there were many signs of a war, due to the rise
of dictators and no one s willing to stop them. World War II was between 1939 and 1945, which
was started by Germany, similar to World War I. World War II was caused by Hitler s ideas,
Germany s inability to cooperate with the League of Nations, and Germanys violation of the Treaty
of Versailles. The first cause of World War II was Hitler s ideas. Hitler was Germany s dictator
during World War II, who wanted an Aryan state, because he believed the the JEws being present
in Germany during World War Icaused them to lose the first world war. Hitler, in one of his
speeches, said One race needs one country (1). This means that Hitler was willing to give up
many other races, just to have a Aryans in Germany, no matter the cost. One way he tried to
achieve this goal, in by putting in place the Nuremberg Laws, which distinguished the Germans

Remote Minehunting System ( Rms ) Of Littoral Combat Ship
This paper examines Remote Minehunting System (RMS) of Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) in
detail. LCS is a fast platform designed for executing operations in near shore environments. But, it
is capable of conducting open ocean operation as well. It is designed to defeat asymmetric threats.
Mines, submarines and fast surface craft can be shown as unique examples of asymmetric threats.
The LCS, which is a fast, maneuverable surface ship, provides warfighting capabilities for tasks
/missions including mine warfare, anti submarinewarfare (ASW) and anti surface warfare (ASUW).
The RMS, which will be deployed on LCS, is a component of the LCS Mine Countermeasures
(MCM) mission package (MP). The mission package is called the Remote Minehunting System.
The system uses the Remote Multimission Vehicle (RMMV). The RMMV vehicle is produced by
Lockheed Martin. It conducts autonomous and/or semi autonomous missions. It also carries AQS
20A minehunting sonar. The sonar attached to RMMV is specifically designed for a variable depth
forward looking and side scanning under sea. Raytheon makes the AQS 20As. The RMS detects,
classifies, and localizes non buried bottom and moored mines. It also identifies shallow water
bottom mines.
U.S. Navy plans to keep its ships out of the dangerous minefield with the RMS. Navy focuses on
decreasing core crew for mine warfare while conducting mine hunting operations as well. Navy
envisions that this concept with RMS on LCS will prove a significant force

Comparing Allopathic and Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatments of LBP2
Abstract
Low back pain (LBP) is an issue that affects patients, healthcare professionals, and society on a
global scale. With advancements in allopathic medicine, LBP is better managed than ever before
however, its methodologies in diagnosing and treating LBP and its results are inconsistent. For this
reason, many patients and healthcare professionals are turning to alternative treatments such as
traditional Chinese medicine, which is now considered one of the leading treatments of LBP.
This study explores LBP treatment methodologies used in allopathic medicine and traditional
Chinese medicine (TCM). The research of Dr. Frank (1995) are examined further in order to gain
more understanding of the TCM methodology and its relationship with LBP. Additionally, this
study aims to convey what the holistic, low cost approach of TCM has to offer and to better
understand the use and effectiveness of acupuncture and herbology in the treatment and prevention
of LBP.

The 1991 movie My Girl tells the story of 11 year old Vada Sultenfuss who, having lost her mother

parlour that he owns and operates. The story follows Vada, an extreme hypochondriac who has
many strange misconceptions about death, through a variety of life changing experiences, including

experiences, the audience witnesses Vada s social, emotional, and intellectual growth, as well as her

Her father s lack of attention has also likely influences Vada s misconceptions about death; his
response to Vada s question about whether a particularly small casket is for a child is no , that it is
simply for short people. Furthermore, when
Vada feigns dying one night at dinner, her father s reaction is to ignore her rather than talk to her
about what the real issue is. Behavior such as this might be viewed as both a lack of
understanding about death as well as an attempt to get attention that is so obviously absent. Vada s
father s lack of attention to his daughter s needs is similarly illustrated in the fact that when Vada
starts her period, she believes she is haemorrhaging; he has not adequately educated her on the
normal bodily changes that are unrelated to death, nor on the subject of death itself. A related
important event in this movie is the quick engagement of Vada s father. Vada reacts to this news
negatively, recruiting Thomas Jay to run away with her, and eventually returning to find that no one
has even noticed her absence which only frustrates her further. Vada, who has never seen her father
as a particularly happy person, suddenly sees a change in his demeanor when he meets and starts
dating Shelly; for Vada, this translates to her inability to make her father happy, that she is
unneeded, and that she was not

Qing China And Tokugawa China
For many students around the world, ethnocentrism is a real, serious issue that impedes
understanding and success. One example of how this ethnocentrism invades the minds of the
average American and distorts their thoughts is by asking them to compare different Asian histories
or cultures, to which they will likely reply they re all the same. In addition to being ethnocentric,
this viewpoint is just plain wrong. Take, for example, Qing Chinaand Tokugawa Japan. Though
these two Asian empires had many things in common, they are far from being the same. Qing
China refers to the period of Chinese history between 1644 and 1911, when the foreign Manchus
established a dynasty and ruled over China, calling themselves the Qing. The non Chinese tribes
that came to power at this time were from the area that would later be called Manchuria.
Geographically, Qing China grew three times the size of what it was under the Ming, expanding
north to include areas of Mongolia and Manchuria, as well as west. The country was divided into
provinces, with each province being managed and governed under tusi, or native chieftains. The
region of China is largely mountainous, with the majority of the population densely packed near the
coast and around the Yellow River Valley. After establishing their rule, the Manchus created a new
dynasty and declared a new emperor, carrying on the traditional Chinese system of government and
administration that had existed since the time of the Tang. Despite this,

New Technology In Europe During The 15th And 16th Century
Throughout the Renaissance in the 15th and 16th century there were many new ideas and
technologies that became popular and helped Europe grow and expand. Some examples of new
technology that emerged during the 15th and 16 century are: the movable printing press created by
Johann Gutenberg. Another example is that during this time the Europeans began to make and
improve their maps. They also created the compass and made improvements to their boats which
made for safer and faster travels. If it were not for this new technology Europewould not have been
able to gain wealth and power as fast as it did.
First, the invention of the printing press helped to expand Europeans exploration. It allowed
Europe a way to mass produce books and other literature. This was very important for their
exploration because everyone soon became literate and everyone began to get more
knowledgeable. The printing press also allowed Europe to spread their new information and
finding with other countries. The printing press would expose some of Europe s findings and other
countries would soon learn the knowledge that Europe had, like their maps. When the word would
get out everyone would put their knowledge with this new knowledge and this is where the better
maps would come from. If it were not for the printing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Philosophy Of Knowing And Learning
Knowing and learning can be interpreted in many different ways, but my philosophy of knowing
and learning is based on my understanding through the personal experience in the tutoring situation.
As a Tutor for students who were 9 years old, majority of the time was spent reading to develop
their English. An aspect that impacted the students learningprogress tremendously was the tutor s
responsibility to understand the student s capability, needs and interest to support their learning
progress. When tutoring the students, there were some theories that were appropriate to aid the
students in reading and influenced the tutor s techniques employed to support the students learning.
The philosophers that influenced my tutoring techniques were Etienne Wenger, Jerome Bruner,
Albert Bandura, Ivan Pavlov, Burrhus Frederic Skinner, Jean Lave, Wolfgang Kohler and Lev
Vygotsky. Wenger s social theory believed that adding meaning and interest into an activity
encourages learning (Lave Wenger,1991). The Gestalt Approach influenced Kohler s idea where
the student would need to know the basic elements before being able to learn and acquire more
knowledge (Phillips Soltis, 2009). To build up new ideas from the initial basic elements,
Scaffolding by Bruner and Modelling by Bandura were the two learning strategies utilized to
support the student s learning (Nalliah Idris, 2014). The student is made aware that the new
acquired skill or knowledge taught by Scaffolding and Modelling

Effects Of Cancer On The United States And Across The Globe
1. Introduction and Problem Statement: Cancer has a major societal impact in the United States
and across the globe. In 2015, an estimated 1,658,370 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in
United States, and 589,430 people are estimated to die of the disease. Unfortunately, low cancer
cell availability in human samples is a current barrier for early disease detection. There is an unmet
medical need to improve methods of early cancerdetection so that patients can receive treatment
before cancer metastasizes to other areas of the body, resulting in better health outcomes. Several
studies have explained the influence of the nanoscale topography such as nanosurface and
structure in cell capture, growth, adhesion, and orientation. Every cell type has a characteristic
profile based on its mechano physical properties [1]. Cancer cells show higher translocation
times and peak amplitudes compared with blood cells, and their pulse shapes are distinctively
different. Ion Selective Field Effect Transistors (ISFETs) have a huge advantage over traditional
ion selective electrodes (ISEs) in that they avoid the high impedance by signal amplification.
ISFETs generate low impedance signals and consume low power levels because of the transistor
properties. Because of their small size, ISFETs can be miniature diagnosis devices, allowing low
sample consumption combined with a rapid response. ISFETs make the selective detection of
certain ions in complex samples more efficient and can open

The Importance Of Natural Rights Of The Chimpanzee
Introduction
They are our closest evolutionary cousins. They wear our clothes and star in our TV shows. Yet,
they are treated cruelly in the poaching industry and research facilities. They have been observed
meeting most of the criteria for what we define as human , yet their habitats and wellbeing are
being intruded everyday. The belief that all humans have ascribed natural rights that can not be
infringed upon by a system of government is a fairly new concept, becoming predominant in the
20th century. However, religious scriptures have made mention of these concepts as early as 5
thousand years ago. It is apparent that though concrete natural rights for persons may be a recent
idea in society, civilizations have been attempting to define the rights of personhood for millennia. I
use the language persons , intentionally, to exhibit the contrast between this and human . Though the
two words have become almost synonymous in modern day language, personhood is not
exclusively defined by humanity by definition. We simply have not observed any species that we
have unanimously considered worthy of this title. This brings in a moral dilemma, as people
wonder what species, if any, should be ascribed personhood along with its rights, and to what
extent. I propose that a potential candidate, that will kickstart conversation about the rights of all
animals, is the Chimpanzee. A major justification for this is their genetic and behavioral similarity
to that of a person. Exhibiting a

Introduction:
This practical involved investigating the behaviour of equipotential and electric field lines between

potential produced from these configurations.
The setup involved three of paper with low conducting teledeltos paper on top to allow the marker

Pastor David Williams
Last Sundy I attended my local church, Lansing Woodview Church of the Nazarene. I was
privileged to hear our Rev. David Williams, our Pastor of Discipleship, preach from Luke 7:36
50. He was speaking on our monthly family Sunday when we have all ages in worship. This
sermon was also preaching in fulfillment of a requirement for a preaching class he is currently
taking at Nazarene BibleCollege. Pastor David took an interesting approach to preaching this
particular passage in which Jesusfeet are washed by the sinful woman who cleans his feet and
anoints them with perfume to the ire of Simon the Pharisee. Jesus uses this as an opportunity to
use a parable to teach about grace and its availability to everyone. After reading the passage he
began to break down the different perspectives of the characters in the story as if analyzing a play.
He examined the perspective of the woman, Simon, Jesus and the others at the dinner.... Show more

He suggested at each of us might be able to identify with one or more people within the passage.
He suggest that perhaps we need to be like the woman and understand that we are worth of
forgiveness and must give praise for that forgiveness. Or like Simon we need to have our
perspectives renewed on the availability of grace for everyone. Maybe we need to be like the crowd
and follow after the question of Who is this , who even forgives sins? Finally concluding with the
point that we all are worthy of grace and we are called to receive and reciprocate that grace in our

A Visual Analysis Essay
The painting The Night CafГ©, done in 1888 by Vincent van Gough, is an oil painting on a 28ВЅ
inch tall by 36Вј inch wide canvas. It depicts the inside of CafГ© de la Gare in Place, Lamartine.
There is a pool table in the middle, 4 green top dining tables on the right wall, and 2 green top
and 1 red top tables on the right. At the back table on the left a man and woman sit together, and
at the table beside theirs; a man sitting alone and hunched over. On the right side, two more
hunched over men are sharing the table closest to the viewer. All of the people in the painting
are in dark blues, browns, or reds except a man next to the pool table in a white suit. There are
four lamps hanging from the ceiling that seem to focus the light more on the pool table and the
man in the white suit, and less on the customers and tables that line the edges of the room. This
causes the floor around the pool table to be a brighter brown than the rest of the room. The shadow
caused by the pool table is dark, while the man standing beside the table is bright white, causing
strong contrast. Combined with the contrast between the green top of the pool table and the red...

The contrast between the red walls and green roof help to draw your attention to the back of the
room. The bottom third of the walls are brown which acts as a horizon for the indoor setting.
Under and around the pool table the implied lines from the boards on the floor guide you to the
vanishing point on the horizon with the help of the thick outline that is only on the pool table.
The vanishing point is used to lead your eyes to a door way in the back of the room with a half
open curtain in it. Inside the outline of the door way and curtain is what appears to be another
well lit room painted with a yellow haze and the slightly distorted shape of another door. This haze
shows the space between the viewer and the inside of the next

Analysis Of The Millionaire Next Door
The book The Millionaire Next Door was written by Thomas J. Stanley, Ph. D and William D.
Danko this book goes into explaining different stories of how millionaires made their millions and
how they could keep it, the book goes into explaining the difference between a UAW s and PAW s

to you and me.
In The Millionaire Next Door the book goes into looking at different forms of millionaires, not all

of mobile homes parks, pest controllers, coin dealers and private contractors. Most millionaires are
blue collar workers, we do have a few that are doctors, lawyers, etc. in the mix. But, blue collar
workers spend about 7% per average per year this includes, they buy cheaper homes, wear
inexpensive suits and drive American made cars, and only a few leases their vehicles, their wife s

Parents are the first teachers of young children. Children acquire their knowledge and actions from observing their parents. That is how their minds develop and how they obtain certain skills. They learn the basis of reading and writing skills at young ages. Having an early education helps later down the road with saving money. Early Childhood Education leads to social and emotional development, increased literacy, and fiscal savings. The first outcome of early childhood Education is social and emotional development. Having a high education is one of the largest factors for saving money and helping the economy. Children with a higher literacy rate pay fewer taxes, earn more money, and are less susceptible to commit a crime (Calman and Tarr Whelan 2). Having children with a good background in school helps the economy. These children are more likely to get jobs, work efficiently, and buy things (Calman and Tarr Whelan 2). By being educated you save money and with that money they are able to buy things they want, which boost the economy. British policies towards the American colonies during the 1760s and 1770s, however, was not one of them. Sewall, a staunch supporter of authority, defended British policies. John Adams, on the contrary, believed the policies to be unjust and thus challenged British authority. Sewall believed that the colonial challenge to British authority threatened the very way of life in the colonies while Adams thought that British authority provided a bigger threat. Jonathan Sewall and John Adams were very skilled in doing this and could thus write extremely convincing arguments. Both used vibrant details when describing their ideas so that they would be presented in a clear and favorable light. Sewall and Adams were able to vividly describe images, in order to create a picture in the minds of the readers. White collar criminals don t get their hands dirty in their work. They use their heads to get what they want instead of using a little muscle. These criminals are just as dangerous as the rapists and murderers. In these times, even the most seemingly respectable people are suspected of white collar crimes. President Clinton and the first lady Hillary Clinton have been tangled up in the Whitewater and Travelgate business ventures. Although the two have not been formally charged with any wrongdoing, there is a committee currently investigating their dealings and charges are not out of the question for either of them. In Michael Isikoff s and Mark Hosenball s Newsweek article Cracks in the Wall, they describe the Clintons dealings with Whitewater and the possible consequences of them: The Senate Whitewater committee is considering asking for perjury charges against Susan Thomas and Maggie Williams, Mrs. Clintons chief of staff, in connection with her testimony about the removal of documents from Vince Foster s office (Isikoff 29). This week, what I learnt was ancient Greek actually forged Roman society and its past glories. Apart from their historical connections, it turned out Greek was an inspiration for Roman s outstanding achievements, to an extent, if the proverb all roads lead to Rome presents this city state s central position in Antiquity, I will think Roman s success owed its origin to Greek, to say the least. In my opinion, Greecewas the true begetter of Roman empires economic and political miracles. Although the two are both Mediterranean countries, but Greece had a major influence on the development of Roman arts, governmental system, literature, and many more. In a way, Romans internalized a set of Greek values which they ingeniously conflated Greek traditional charm with Roman local idioms, then continuously built on that solid foundation and made some exciting breakthroughs thereafter. In addition, as Noreen Gunnell (2012) indicated, ancient Romans loved all things Greek. The Importance Of Miranda Warnings Juveniles, particularly younger juveniles, are unable to comprehend the Miranda warning, and, by extension, exercise their Miranda rights, for biological reasons, specifically their developmental immaturity. According to Rogers et al. s study (Rogers, Blackwood, Fidducia, Steadham, Drogin, Rogstad 2012), Miranda warnings are inherently incomprehensible to juveniles because they demand an advanced level of reading comprehension most often not yet attained by the juveniles. The study consolidated a sum of 293 juvenile Miranda warnings issued in 238 counties in 38 states and used the Flesch Kincaid, a commonly accepted estimate of grade level used in other Miranda related research and that corresponds with standardized reading tests, to gauge grade level estimates. Rogers et al. found that 2.2% of Miranda waivers were written at a college graduate level, 5.2% necessitated some college preparation, and 52.1% of Miranda warnings necessitated at least an eighth grade education, which poses a significant threat to particularly underserved preteen suspects. Only 7.3% of juvenile warnings were marked as easily comprehensible or at below a fifth grade education level, which would optimize juvenile comprehension. It s significant to note that juveniles cannot then intelligently waive their Miranda rights if the language exceeds their reading comprehension level. I will describe the anatomical changes and pathophysiology of the disease, explain how it effects elimination of carbon dioxide from the airway, state the physiological compensation mechanisms and relate this condition back to respiratory acidosis and its effect on the body. Asthma is a respiratory disease that directly effects the trachea, bronchi and bronchioles causing inflammation and swelling. Typically this is caused by a hyper response to allergens. Symptoms usually include: wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness and coughing. There are two different types of Asthma: The first is known as Atopic Asthma . This is usually diagnosed in childhood and it is believed that genetics play a crucial role in obtaining the disease. • 13. Sustainable Development Is Possible For Academic Research During the last eleven years my work in Belize has evidenced that sustainable development is possible when academic research incorporates community direction, and recognizes local expertise as a component in the formation of new knowledge. Indeed, we are able to manage problems and in many cases improve lives by collaborating to undertake community driven and academically supported initiatives. What is sometimes misunderstood in the context of academia, community based research promotes the creation of new knowledge through multiple sources including academia, local tacit expertise, and cultural context (Strand, Marullo, Cutforth, Stoecker, Donohue, 2003). Collaborative solutions to issues and challenges that work within the parameters of local resources are paramount to sustainability. Moreover, sustainability is critical in effecting a lasting improvement in the human condition. The projects that I implemented in December of 2014 and December of 2015 particularly those directed at soilquality are indicators of the effectiveness and sustainability of these collaborative efforts. Although these projects may seem diverse, in the context of addressing the challenges of food insecurity, poverty, lack of access to clean water, and environmental degradation; interdisciplinary solutions in the framework of the integrated natural resource management model could be employed to resolve these issues (Sanchez, Palm, Buol, 2003, p. 159). • 14. Similarities Between V For Vendetta And 1984 Overcome, Perish, 1984 and V for Vendetta Alan Moore and George Orwell s stylistic writing choices and parallels between fascist governments and the methods used to oppose them in their pieces V for Vendetta and 1984 with the use of rhymes and television to represent a biased sense of view and salvation left in history, and how the Party uses their own symbols to repress that salvation. 1984 and V for Vendetta both take place in a Great Britain controlled by a totalitarianistic society with non conformist characters who take on that society with a unique approach. Winston Smith uses a private rebellion between himself and Julia as his nonconformity against the Inner Party. In V for Vendetta, however, V s take on resisting the NorsefireParty is very direct and outspoken to the public. In their own ways, they both hide their hatred for the Party. Winston himself keeps his meetings with Julia hush hush in Mr. Charrington s room, while V s identity is never revealed, always wearing a mask. Symbols play a key role in establishing the stories of Winston and V. 1984 s chant for the Brotherhood is the Oranges and Lemons English nursery rhyme refers to the bells of churches in London that extends on by people who matter to Winston; and everyone who betrays him. Mr. Charrington gives him the first piece, but is revealed to be a part of the Thought Police, Julia, who betrays him at the end of it all before her mental death, and O Brian, who instead of his savior becomes his torturer. The Fifth of November is also a rhyme that s based off real events, referencing Guy Fawkes s failed plan to blow up the English Parliament on November 5th, 1605. Both rhymes are tied into Great Britain and a passion that varies between the protagonists, providing them with their only link to the past. Television is also a main symbol for the government s control both the telescreens in 1984 and the telly in V for Vendetta broadcast only the Party s views and bias. These hot spots usually occur at thin spots in the Earth s crust or at tectonic plate boundaries ( How Geothermal Energy Works 2). Water circulates naturally in these seismically active locations due to the large number of earthquakes in the area. ( How Geothermal Energy Works 2). Four forms of producing geothermal energy are currently available: dry steam, wet steam, hot rocks, and geopressured deposits (Savage 22). To gain access to these resources, cooled water is injected down a well where it circulates through fractured rocks and heats up. Once hot, the water is sucked back up to the surface through another to be further processed into energy ( Geothermal Energy 2). Dry steam sources are very practical for producing energy due to its very high temperature and its ability to cause no corrosion to turbines and various types of other equipment involved in the process (Savage 22). On the other hand, wet steam sources must be regularly maintained because they do cause damage to the equipment if left unchecked. Despite this drawback, it is a very useful way to generate energy (Savage 22). Hot rocks are tantalizing geothermal sources, but water must be introduced artificially to the dry heat source to produce steam or hot water (Savage 22). Geopressured deposits have been exploited for a very long time because they are generally hotter than most underground water systems (Savage 22). Magma is, without a doubt, ... London, Brilliance Audio. In the book, Captive Audience: The Telekom Industry and Monopoly Power in the New Gilded Age, the Author, Susan Crawford is discussing how a decade ago, United States was the benchmark for internet service provision. The U.S. boasted of the fastest internet speed, highest penetration rates, and the lowest prices in the market. The United States was then recognized as a leading knowledge economy. However, today, things have suddenly changed, a situation attributed towards lackluster government legislations that have given rise to new monopolies hence allowing countries such as Singapore, Japan, and Europe to overtake the U.S in terms of average broadband speed, penetration rates, and prices. This backslide has not only deprived consumers premium services and contents in a competitive global landscape, but also threatening to derail the country s economic prospects. According to Susan, who is the author of the book, she believes that once upon a time, she was found in a fortunate position to decide on a television and internet package. Susan had a choice of two companies to choose from, and these very companies provided broadband connectivity, telephony services, and myriad of television channels than she could hardly afford to enjoy. LCS is a fast platform designed for executing operations in near shore environments. But, it is capable of conducting open ocean operation as well. It is designed to defeat asymmetric threats. Mines, submarines and fast surface craft can be shown as unique examples of asymmetric threats. The LCS, which is a fast, maneuverable surface ship, provides warfighting capabilities for tasks /missions including mine warfare, anti submarinewarfare (ASW) and anti surface warfare (ASUW). The RMS, which will be deployed on LCS, is a component of the LCS Mine Countermeasures (MCM) mission package (MP). The mission package is called the Remote Minehunting System. The system uses the Remote Multimission Vehicle (RMMV). The RMMV vehicle is produced by Lockheed Martin. It conducts autonomous and/or semi autonomous missions. It also carries AQS 20A minehunting sonar. The sonar attached to RMMV is specifically designed for a variable depth forward looking and side scanning under sea. Raytheon makes the AQS 20As. The RMS detects, classifies, and localizes non buried bottom and moored mines. It also identifies shallow water bottom mines. Her father s lack of attention has also likely influences Vada s misconceptions about death; his response to Vada s question about whether a particularly small casket is for a child is no , that it is simply for short people. Furthermore, when Vada feigns dying one night at dinner, her father s reaction is to ignore her rather than talk to her about what the real issue is. Behavior such as this might be viewed as both a lack of understanding about death as well as an attempt to get attention that is so obviously absent. Vada s father s lack of attention to his daughter s needs is similarly illustrated in the fact that when Vada starts her period, she believes she is haemorrhaging; he has not adequately educated her on the normal bodily changes that are unrelated to death, nor on the subject of death itself. A related important event in this movie is the quick engagement of Vada s father. Vada reacts to this news negatively, recruiting Thomas Jay to run away with her, and eventually returning to find that no one has even noticed her absence which only frustrates her further. One example of how this ethnocentrism invades the minds of the average American and distorts their thoughts is by asking them to compare different Asian histories or cultures, to which they will likely reply they re all the same. In addition to being ethnocentric, this viewpoint is just plain wrong. Take, for example, Qing Chinaand Tokugawa Japan. Though these two Asian empires had many things in common, they are far from being the same. Qing China refers to the period of Chinese history between 1644 and 1911, when the foreign Manchus established a dynasty and ruled over China, calling themselves the Qing. The non Chinese tribes that came to power at this time were from the area that would later be called Manchuria. Geographically, Qing China grew three times the size of what it was under the Ming, expanding north to include areas of Mongolia and Manchuria, as well as west. The country was divided into provinces, with each province being managed and governed under tusi, or native chieftains. The region of China is largely mountainous, with the majority of the population densely packed near the coast and around the Yellow River Valley. After establishing their rule, the Manchus created a new dynasty and declared a new emperor, carrying on the traditional Chinese system of government and administration that had existed since the time of the Tang. Some examples of new technology that emerged during the 15th and 16 century are: the movable printing press created by Johann Gutenberg. An aspect that impacted the students learningprogress tremendously was the tutor s responsibility to understand the student s capability, needs and interest to support their learning progress. In 2015, an estimated 1,658,370 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in United States, and 589,430 people are estimated to die of the disease. Unfortunately, low cancer cell availability in human samples is a current barrier for early disease detection. There is an unmet medical need to improve methods of early cancerdetection so that patients can receive treatment before cancer metastasizes to other areas of the body, resulting in better health outcomes. Several studies have explained the influence of the nanoscale topography such as nanosurface and structure in cell capture, growth, adhesion, and orientation. Every cell type has a characteristic profile based on its mechano physical properties [1]. Cancer cells show higher translocation times and peak amplitudes compared with blood cells, and their pulse shapes are distinctively different. Ion Selective Field Effect Transistors (ISFETs) have a huge advantage over traditional ion selective electrodes (ISEs) in that they avoid the high impedance by signal amplification. ISFETs generate low impedance signals and consume low power levels because of the transistor properties. Because of their small size, ISFETs can be miniature diagnosis devices, allowing low sample consumption combined with a rapid response. Yet, they are treated cruelly in the poaching industry and research facilities. They have been observed meeting most of the criteria for what we define as human , yet their habitats and wellbeing are being intruded everyday. The belief that all humans have ascribed natural rights that can not be infringed upon by a system of government is a fairly new concept, becoming predominant in the 20th century. However, religious scriptures have made mention of these concepts as early as 5 thousand years ago. It is apparent that though concrete natural rights for persons may be a recent idea in society, civilizations have been attempting to define the rights of personhood for millennia. I use the language persons , intentionally, to exhibit the contrast between this and human . Though the two words have become almost synonymous in modern day language, personhood is not exclusively defined by humanity by definition. We simply have not observed any species that we have unanimously considered worthy of this title. This brings in a moral dilemma, as people wonder what species, if any, should be ascribed personhood along with its rights, and to what extent. I propose that a potential candidate, that will kickstart conversation about the rights of all animals, is the Chimpanzee. A major justification for this is their genetic and behavioral similarity to that of a person. Exhibiting a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
