Looking for Alaska The main theme in John Green s novel Looking for Alaska is that there is
more to life than can be experienced through any one person or experience, and that we will never
truly understand everything that happens to us or the ones we love. We just have to accept these
things, whether they be good or bad, and hope for the best. The novel is written in first person
perspective, through the eyes of the main character. His name is Miles Halter, and he is a

He really becomes much more of a three dimensional character. His entire outlook on life totally
changes. In this section of the story Pudge becomes obsessed with finding out if Alaska killed
herself, or if it was just a freak accident. The Colonel and him spend a good amount of time doing
some serious detective work, attempting to understand what exactly went through her mind right
before she died. Eventually though, The Colonel gets bored playing detective, and he soon stops
trying to help. Pudge, however, keeps on with the investigation, perhaps bordering on the brink of
insanity with his need to fully understand Alaska. He feels as though it s his fault that he didn t
understand what was happening sooner, and that if he figures out what pushed her to this point it
will make up for his ignorance. To really prove the kind of person that Pudge became after Alaska

THE TONE OF A SETTING When having a conversation with someone it is easy to know how
they are feeling by the tone in their voice. If a person is being funny, they tend to have a smile
on their face, but when a person is angry about a particular subject, the tone of their voice
becomes extremely loud and overbearing. While reading novels or short stories the characters
tone is distinguishable because of the author s use of exclamation points or italicized words. These
make the reader understand the characters emotions and feelings throughout the entire book. As

Southwest University Park It all started as a great attraction, a great investment for the city. A
great central attraction , many would say. I remember watching the news and people opposing,
but mostly hearing how people excited. Happy to see something new coming our way, having
something to do in this boring city, as many would say of El Paso. Construction started on May
30th of 2013, and a few days before El Paso City Hall had been demolished by implosion. I
remember a lot of people from the community gathered up to see the explosion. It is a baseball
field park, called Southwest University Park Stadium, the city s newest attraction. It has been

Twain and Crane use characters that have to define themselves and decide what is best for their
personal beliefs. Crane represents this as well when Maggie has to try and move out of her
situation, but ends up not being able to as she becomes too reliant on Pete. In Twain s novel, Jim
and Huck run away from home and travel down the Mississippi River, and Jim gets taken and
sold back into the slave trade. Huck has to decide if he wants to save Jim and break societal
norms or get help from his original owners which will enslave Jim, but make Huck conform and
be closed to challenging society. Huck then realizes that he is fine with being different from
how society looks at him, as long as Huck can do what he wants, not what society wants him to
do. The change of Huck shifting away from his societal norm is contrasting of every society not

The distinctively visuals represented Tykwer s film, is significantly strong as unique images
dominate the screen to create a thrilling and suspenseful film. The story is told through images,

I know this hurt him and I feel terribly about this now but I m sure he knew this might be
coming having obviously picked out where he lived. I did my best never to be home those
years. It was a lot easier after I started driving and drove my parents mad wondering why I never

Eugenics will become a universal practice in the future due to the fact that humanity never
learned the lesson from the Holocaust and the Second World War. For instance, in the years
immediately after the war, many American geneticists worked as evaluators for many newborns
adoptive placements. They would focus on the [child] s ability to appear convincingly white,
relying upon examination of the sacral spot at the base of the spine, nose width, lip thickness,
hair texture and shape, and even scrotum coloration to determine the type of family most suitable
for the child. Moreover, Peter Singer, who was a moral philosopher born at the end of the war,
publically endorsed the termination of not only disabled infants, but children and adults as well.
Shockingly, he was also a supporter of the Nazi Aktion T4 program, More recently, an American
jail sterilized all of its female prisoners who both failed to graduate from high school and had five
or more children. The jail administrators did this without the consent of these prisoners. These were
examples of negative eugenics, the one practiced by the Nazi party and caused the deaths of

Abstract This paper presents the original findings of an approach to adopting the bit stream signal
to control a system. It contains the initial design process and simulations of a bit stream based PID
controller to control and stabilize the output of a proposed Capacitive Power Transfer system in the
discrete time domain. Processing The simulated results use MATLAB s Simulink and illustrate the
potential performance of the controller. Compared against simulations of a similar nature in
continuous time, the bit stream implemented system yields near identical results.

rejection report a low self worth. It is stated that patients who experienced social rejection already
