Development Of Generic Product And Approval
Generally, an ANDA sponsor of the topical dermatological product has to undergo multiple
review cycles with the FDA before the product gets approved and the sponsor has to wait for a
longer time mostly. Even though the ICH CTD, ICH Q8 describes the generation of product
development report, it is not still clear to ANDA sponsors how this actually applies. As a result,
more internal meetings and discussions between the sponsors and the FDA delays the product
approval. One of the ways to overcome these challenges is to have a product development report
with verified and justified specifications based on the QbD efforts which can help the Office of
Generic Drugs (OGD) to be efficient in understanding the developed generic product and approval

The foremost criteria in developing a generic topical dermatological product is to meet the
pharmaceutical and therapeutic equivalency of the RLD. A therapeutic equivalence is the one
which has the same clinical effect and safety profile as given in the label of the RLD and a
pharmaceutical equivalence is the one which contains identical amount of same active ingredient
corresponding to the same route of administration in the same dosage form with similar
mechanism of release and similar rate and extent of the absorption of the RLD. The current
paradigm to get an approval by an ANDA sponsor is by proving the therapeutic equivalence to the
RLD by testing whereas the proposed QbD approach requires the sponsors to meet the equivalence
on the basis of defined design targets. More specifically, a well defined rational approach behind
each testing is required for proving the pharmaceutical equivalence and bioequivalence [18].
When talking about the design of equivalence of a generic dermatological topical product, the
criteria for Q1 and Q2. Additionally, in some cases, the Q3 criteria has to be satisfied in addition
to Q1 and Q2 Topical solutions can be stated as an example for Q3. The Q1, Q2 and Q3 may not
be a feasible option if the patent of the RLD is considerably protected. In such cases, the generic
manufacturer may be in a position to look for alternate

Stereotypes In The Outsider
Stephanie Beatriz writes, When you label somebody and put them in a box, then you put the lid
on the box, and you just never look inside again. I think it s much more interesting for human
beings to look at each other s stories and see each other. Really see each other and then see
themselves through other people s stories. That s where you start to break down stereotypes
(brainyquote.com). This quote represents how if you labelsomeone you put them in the box
because that is not who the truly are and when a person takes off a lid and listen to their story it is
a lot more interesting. Unfortunately Society today, the first second they meet a new person they

Eu Law Essay
The Treaty of Lisbon (ToL) was signed by twenty seven member states (MS) on 13th December
2007 and entered into force on 1st December 2009 ending several years of negotiation about
institutional issues. Below we will look at how the ToL has reformed the European Union (EU).
The changes introduced by the ToL lie predominantly in the areas of constitutional and institutional
reform. However, institutional change is the key driver behind the ToL. We will look at how the
ToL has brought about these changes.
Initially the ToL was named the Reform Treaty however as Portugal held presidency at the time
they were keen to attach their name to it hence the reason it was called the Treaty of Lisbon. The
aim of the ToL was to:

By replacing the EC the three pillar structure which was introduced by the Treaty of Maastricht
and which characterised the EC was abolished by the ToL. The three pillars together constituted
the EC however the ToL abolishes the three pillar structure and instead the EU will only be one
title. Prior to the ToL coming into force the EC and the EU had different statutes and did not
operate the same decision making rules. The ToL will end this dual system and the EU will have
its own legal personality. This will allow the EU to act more effectively, coherently and credibly in
its relations with the rest of the world.
The institutional framework of the EU has been significantly altered. The need for transparency,
better democratic accountability and enhanced judicial scrutiny has led to some important
improvements in the EU s institutional make up. There are now seven EU institutions which are
listed in Article 13 of the TEU. These are : the European Parliament; the European Council; the
Council; the European Commission; the Court of Justice of the European Union (formerly the ECJ);
the European Central Bank; and the European Court of Auditors.
The European Parliament (EP) is the one that has changed the most over the years. The EP was
originally set up by the Treaty of Rome as the European Assembly. The European Assembly
changed name to the EP when the Single European Act came into force. When it was first set up it

The Bionic Man And The Morality Of Bioengineering
The Bionic Man and the Morality of Bioengineering Thomas Jefferson once declared the rights to
Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness to be inalienable rights. Before him, John Locke
espoused the philosophical view of Libertarianism with the belief that everyone has the right to life,
liberty, health, and property. Since the Enlightenment there has been an emphasis on life, but rarely
has the quality of life been an issue. There are no written ethical codes in science or engineering
that defines what should be an appropriate quality of life. Perhaps we are approaching the time
where such measures need to be addressed. The 21st century has seen the intersection of medicine
and technology. With the emergence and development of bioengineering, or the application of
engineering to the natural world, society has seen rapid and accelerated change to how we interact
with each other. For example, a recent experiment with preschool children and a robotic dog was
conducted in 2006 to explore the relationship between humans and robotics. AIBO, Artificial
Intelligence Bot, was introduced to a group of preschool children. The children were given 45
minutes of interaction with AIBO and a stuffed dog which acted as a control. The results indicated
that while both the stuffed animal and AIBO received the same amount of engagement, AIBO
received more verbal instructions and was mistreated less than the stuffed dog. Ultimately, the pre
school children were not pretending when they

Persuasive Essay On Rail Transportation
Trains are everywhere in our society, we have jokes, toys, movies, and children s television shows,
but did you know rail transport started in 6th century Greece? The city of San Antonio, Texas is a
fast growing metropolitan city that has a very tremendous amount of people. It has been estimated
that the citywill grow by another million people in the next ten to twenty years. San Antonio s
traffic is becoming a huge issue and is quickly approaching to be one of the most congested areas in
the states. The public transportin San Antonio consists of a very complex bus system, taxicabs,
Trolley s downtown, and the growing market of ridesharing drivers. San Antonio has had many
talks and negotiations throughout the last two decades on getting a Light Rail system constructed
to help with public transportation. This proposal is for specific businesses, the city of San Antonio
and Bexar County to come to a funding agreement.
Funding for projects is always a topic of discussion, payments for a sculptor to sculpt a statue, and
hiring wrecking crews for doing their job are just small examples. The funding cost for Light Rail is
extremely high when it comes to construction, these prices are something that a any+ billionaire
can personally handle. These prices are always subject to change because of materials used and the
constant change of technology. Through the talks of this new transit system coming to San
Antonio, different funding options have been suggested, raising taxes,

Critical Writing Assignment The Article, written by Patron, G. (2012) and published in daily
telegraph online edition on 13 March 2012 , critically review the fact more children are being
taught in mixed ability classrooms and how it impacts the brighter students and over all school
performance. The article suggests that brighter pupils can be held back by their weaker
classmates. The recently published research work by the Royal Economic Society showed that
a large number of low achieving pupils in class had negative impact on the bright children s
performance. The data about mixed ability classroom was released by Ofsted, after question by
conservative MP for Kingswood. The data shows that in English state schools, 55 per cent of all
lessons, taught to children in mixed ability classroom. The Ofsted inspectors observed 22,834
lessons in 2010/11. Only 45 per cent of these lessons employed some kind of ability setting. The
number of streaming or setting ability decreased from 47 in 2000/1 to 45 per cent in 2009/10
(Patron, G. 2012). There are many teachers who opposing the idea of streams system. They
believe that children in lower sets are going to be discouraged and shake their confidence level.
Because of this opposition many schools are not able to place children in different ability groups.
A research study conducted by Alia Taha , as part of her thesis , after removal of ability groups in
schools of Alberta reveals that the most of the teachers feel that

The executive and the management team were very excited about the change to the electronic
medical record. They initiated the ground process without any background without any history
with electronic medical records which created a major problem. The leadership in the company
did not adapt well to the change. Most of the clinic providers were not computer savvy, so they
were afraid to use computers, they preferred paper record instead. To receive the government
funding the organization had to incorporate the new government policies by transitioning into the
electronic health record (EHR) by bring in the qualified personnel to implement the process.
Management exercise their power and hiring several qualified individuals to come in and support
this transition. As the application analysts my job was providing leadership to the staff, bring them
up to speed on how electronic medical record was to work and provide computer training to the
members of the organization. Management job was to motivate the employees and eliminate the
fear that they had of making this transition, and my job was to simplify this process so that they
would not be intimidated. I found a handful of people within the organization, that had some
computer skills and I started to train them on the application, so that they could assist in training
others, the train the trainer program was initiated. Leadership entails influencing behaviors in
organizations. Effective leaders influence behaviors in positive ways. Ineffective leaders also
influence behavior, but they do not achieve desirable results. Leadership takes place at all levels in
many organizations. Dr. Baack, Michael R. Charles M. (2014) Chapter 5.1 pg

Using A Virtual Private Network
VPNs
By
Samantha Fitzpatrick
Prepared for
Dr. Ford
30 April 2015 Introduction There is a growing need to connect to internal networks from locations
other than the regular and secure office. Employers and organizations need to realize that
employees often need to connect to internal private networks from home, hotels, airports, etc. A
solution for this problem is using a virtual private network (VPN), which is a network that uses
public network paths, but maintains the security and protection of private networks. Secure
communication is expensive, but VPNs allow organizations to have a number of discrete
communication services for a large amount of clients. It is cheaper to have a copious amount of
virtual networks on a couple physical devices than having a copious amount of physically discrete
devices accomplishing the same objective.
Methodology
VPNs transmit data through secure tunneling. A packet is first encapsulated in a new packet with
a new header and then sent through the tunnel, which is normally IPSec, L2TP, PPTP, or SSL.
Both points of the tunnel need to support the protocol used. To provide access to the internet, the
packet with a private IP address can be sent inside of a packet with a global IP address. For
security, VPNs use encryption to make sure packets are indecipherable without the proper keys,
which provides data confidentiality. They also provide data integrity using a message digest to
ensure the information has not been tampered with

Symbolically, P = [m (D+E/3)] Where P is the market price, M is the multiplier, D is dividend per
share, E is Earnings per share. Drawbacks of the Traditional Approach: As per this approach, there
is a direct relationship between P/E ratios and dividend payВout ratio. High dividend payВout ratio
will increase the P/E ratio and low dividend payВout ratio will decrease the P/E ratio. This may not
always be true. A company s share prices may rise in spite of low dividends due to other factors.
15.3 Dividend Relevance Model Under this section we examine two theories Walter Model and
Gordon Model. 15.3.1 Walter Model Prof. James E. Walter considers dividend payВ

relevant and have a bearing on the share prices of the firm. He further states, investment policies of
a firm cannot be separated from its dividend policy and both are interВlinked. The choice of an
appropriate dividend policy affects the value of the firm. His model clearly establishes a
relationship between the firm s rate of return r, its cost of capital k, to give a dividend policy that

Japes traveled for almost three days before he arrived in the new world, a relaxing trip as the

quite unexpected. When he finally arrived at the new hotel, he was surprised by the quaint

bellman, his new boss, however, was on vacation, just the same he was determined to evaluate the

The lobby and front entrance were quite beautiful and truly fit into the town, the back of the
house, however, was in terrible disrepair. The cafeteria was all dark grey concrete with a small
salad bar set to the side. It looked like a prison cell. The laundry area and housekeeping department
were also all in concrete. The building was much older than he had thought, although it looked
almost new on the outside.
Japes entire focus changed from the hotel to the servers managing the hotel. He had been
enamored with the excitement in the activities of the guests and the servers with whom he
worked. Now, he was more curious about the managers he oversaw than the servers who interacted
with the guests. It was a tremendous change in perspective. Japes wanted to have fun as he

Bobbin. Bobbin was the reservation manager who worked at the hotel for many years. She was a
happy server and possibly a bit of a racer at heart. She was quite active within the hotel and a true
friend to Japes. Bobbin lived in the town her entire life and knew everybody in the community.
This relationship gave him great insight not only into the hotel world, but also in the community.

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Alzheimer s Disease
Aging is an inevitable process that every human being goes through. It is very important to see
how people change as they age and the various experiences they go through. One of the most
common diseases among older people is dementia. Among the different types of dementia, the most
prevalent one is Alzheimer s disease(AD). It is important to look at all of the signs and symptoms
of each type of dementia to see which specific type best describes a person s condition. There is
one patient in particular, Betty, who has many signs and symptoms related to dementia. Betty is
a 65 year old woman who has dementia running in her family. She has been living at home with
her husband, Robert, who is 70 years old. The physicians are doing many tests to see which
specific type of dementia Betty exhibits. After looking at each type of dementia and its signs and
symptoms, it is fairly easy to tell which disease best describes her condition. Examining the
various biological theories of aging is also very important because it helps to better understand
dementia and how it affects older people in their lives. Overall, it important to look at all of the
signs and symptoms of all of the types of dementia, along with the biological theories of aging, to
see if an individual has any disease and the severity of it.
Biological Theories of Aging

Ancient Egypt s Social Hierarchy
Ancient Egypt was an advanced civilization in its form of social hierarchy and its technology.
First of all, social hierarchy groups people or animals based on their gender, social class, age, race,

Sex Work And Sex Workers
Sex workers attributions and systematic play in society have been explored throughout several
centuries of global narration. Sex workers have always been an entity throughout history, seen
as both symbols of beauty as well as patrons of Satan. The sex worker is not stagnant to one
specific gender, but typically has been demonstrated as a female with little identification or
recognition in the within modern day. Throughout the course of this semester we have explored
examples of how sex work and sex workers are documented within different cultures; along with
the western perspective of sex in relation to their country and their global position. The western
perspective of sex work and the perception of sex work in other nations have both parallels and
opposing ideology of this type of labor. This conflicting philosophy towards sex work has caused
internal and external conflict in certain countries. Yet, today it is clear how western influence has
inserted itself into many cultures. The traditional, political, social and religious beliefs of countries
are being permeated with western philosophy. This is and has created a divide amongst the native
people of these nations; creating a clash between traditional and western ideology. The division of
western ideology and traditional belief is particularly evident within Southern India, specifically
focusing on sex workers. Sex workers in Southern India known as Devadasihave been the center of

Lucynell Cratet s Interactions With The Outsiders Short Story
In his interactions with the Lucynell Craters, Tom Shiftlet has a chance to achieve Grace. He

first approaches the two women sitting on the porch and turns his back to them to face the
sunset: He swung both his whole and his short arm up slowly so that they indicated an expanse
of sky and his figure formed a crooked cross. That crooked cross embodied in his figure
represents his chance at salvation. As he drives toward Mobile, having missed his chance, he prays,

The University Of The Ozarks
The Student Government Association, a student lead organization aimed to improve the campus
community, has established several goals they would like to accomplish during the current school
year, 2015 2016. In order to determine these goals and objectives, two detailed persona profiles
were created which provided the association with a better understanding of their audiences and how
to best communicate with them. The publics were divided into two groups, students pertaining to
the senate and students pertaining to the student body. Therefore, the next stage consists in
performing research regarding the goals SGA has established by conducting surveys and focus
groups on campus. As mentioned previously, SGA works closely with two different publics. The
first and primary publics are the officers and senators of the association, whereas the second
publics consist of the rest of the student body at the University of the Ozarks. The characteristic
which differentiate the first from the second public is that senators and officers work as the
intermediary between the student body and the Board of Trustee and President. Nonetheless, both
persona profiles describe students that are involved in the various campus activities and show
interest in the different school related affairs. These types of students do not sit back and blindly
accept the changes made on campus, but actively take part in the decisions making role. Although

The Sport Of Football
Football is one of the most watched sports in the United States, but it is believed to have
descended from the ancient Greek game of harpaston. Harpaston was played by a player
crossing a goal line by either kicking the ball, running with it across the goal line or throwing it
across the line to another player to earn points. Harpaston had very few rules: there was no
specific field length, no sideline boundaries, and no specified number of players per team. Most
modern forms of football are believed to originate from England during the 12th century where
kings from that time banned football because they believed it took away from the traditional sports
of England ( A Brief History ). When football first started in the United States in November... Show

Personal Identity Is A Choice Not Dna
Personal Identity Is a Choice Not DNA In the quest for acceptance into the world many people
discover it difficult to put aside cultural difference to obtain, a better medium on social issues
surrounding racial derive tension. Equally, culture is a determining element in the average
household, on how a person should live out their life. The puzzling factor for many people is
finding a way out of the bias reasoning for why a person should only function as peers from their
own community. Comparatively, Langston Hughesa historical Harlem Renaissancepoet, is
addressing the topic base on personal identity in the poem Theme for English B. The time period
surrounds the Harlem Renaissance is not so different from the world of today on cultural
difference, that dividing people from being whom they want to be and reject by others on the color
of their skin. The reference of this poem is critical when analyzing issues of personal identity from
cultureto similarity in common interest in everyday people; the need for self identity. Thus, Culture
should not be an issue when attempting to find acceptance amongst others when advocating self
identity for personal acceptance in spirit. Pressure for change when identifying the need to move
away from origin in cultural up bring is a hard battle for anyone to win when family tides hold the

Dopamine Hypothesis
The Dopamine Hypothesis of Schizophrenia Schizophrenia is a chronic, psychotic disorder in
which the affected individual feels a disconnection from reality, chaotic thought patterns, delusions,
hallucinations and various disturbances in behavioural, emotional and intellectual perception.
Schizophrenia is often linked to an irregular balance of dopaminein the brain and defects of the
frontal lobe (The American Heritage medical dictionary, 2007). The symptoms of schizophreniacan
be broken down into two categories: negative symptoms and positive symptoms. The negative
symptoms include an absence of normal function, including: alogia, anhedonia, depressed
appearance and apathy (Ayd, 1995), however this essay will focus primarily on the positive... Show

To treat these psychoses, anti psychotic medication is prescribed. Anti psychotic medication
works by binding to a specific receptor in the brain, known as dopamine receptor D2 (Kapur,
2000). By blocking this receptor, symptoms of psychosis are controlled. As symptoms of
stimulant psychosis are very similar to the positive symptoms of schizophrenia, anti psychotic
medication is the preferred medication to treat affected individuals. Two types of anti psychotic
medications have been developed, typical and atypical. Typical anti psychotics have a high
potency and high affinity to D2 receptors, however this can cause extrapyramidal effects and
Parkinsonism (Golan Tashjian, 2012). Atypical anti psychotics have a lower potency and low
affinity to D2 receptors and less side effects. Therefore, anti psychotic medication must block an
appropriate amount of D2 receptors as a deficiency of dopamine can cause extrapyramidal effects
and even worsen the negative symptoms whereas an excess results in psychosis. A cross sectional
neuroimaging study reveals that the link between D2 receptors and extrapyramidal side effects
occurs only after 78% of D2 receptor occupancy (Kapur,

Religion is Funny. This line, once said by co creator of South Park Matt Stone, has caused so
much controversy over the years about how we treat other cultures and religions that it has
emerged to become a number one topic. Even though religion has been around for many years,
people still take their beliefs very seriously. Media has even started making fun of religions by
making jokes about the systems of beliefs of a religion and the people who follow those religions
based on the negative stereotypes. Examples included in popular shows can be found on Family
Guy, South Park, and The Simpsons. South Park continuously makes fun of religions and the
followers of these certain religions. The major religions that are prime targets on the shows are
Christianity, Judaism, Islamand Scientology. Even though it is successful for the show, the
creators of the show often face criticism from the people who support these religions through
threating to kill them for portraying them on the show or by sending death letters. In this paper I ll
explain the show South Park and how it relates to the social issue related to religion.
In the summer of 1997, the network, Comedy Central, aired the popular animated series, South
Park. The creators thought the show was not going to be a success with the American people
because of their crude humor that could possibly offend women, religions, and current events in the
world, but it turned out that it became extremely popular with many people.

Does Migraine Causes
Migraines can be a HUGE pain, seriously. If you are a long term migraine sufferer, then
unfortunately you know that taking medicine is not always the cure for getting rid of the pain.
However, did you know that just by simply visiting a chiropractor, it could help you out? YES! A
back doctor could be the answer to all of your migraineissues who would have thought?
What Causes Migraines?
The cause behind migraines is a mystery. However, it is believed that they occur due to a
chemical imbalance in an individual s brain. This imbalance can be caused by food, hormone or
other triggers, which is why those who have food allergies tend to get a migraine after they eat
something they are allergic to! When you set off this trigger in your brain, your blood vessels dilate
and they become inflamed. This inflammation then causes irritation surrounding your nerves,
resulting in a migraine. Typically, those who suffer from migraines are prescribed antidepressants,
which in themselves can have a series of side effects.

because the nerves that run from the spine to the brain are irritated. This misalignment in the spine

Causes Of The Salem Witch Trials Hysteria Of 1692
What caused the Salem Witch Trials Hysteria of 1692? In 1692, in the small village of Salem,
Massachusetts, 20 people were hanged for offenses they did not commit. But what was the charge
against the 20? The answer would be witchcraft. The charges deeply affected the small community.
Neighbor turned on neighbor. Every act that a person made would be carefully scrutinized,
dissected, and repeated to others. This would lead to the question. What caused the Salem Witch
Trial Hysteria of 1692? The 3 main factors that would cause widespread panic in the town of Salem
were gender, marital status, and age, actors and attention seekers, and neighbor conflicts within the
village of Salem.
Firstly, the conflicts were caused by the factors of gender, age, and marital status. When looking at
the total number of men and women who were hanged, the women far outnumbered the men, 13
women to 7 men (Source A). Of the 24 males who were accused of witchcraft, 15 were married,
while of the 110 females accused, 61 were married. This shows that the number of females
accused outnumbered the men and the majority of those accused were married. Of the male
accusers, all 5 were single, ranging from the ages of 11 20, whereas off the 29 females accusers,
23 were single (the other 6 were married). The ages of the accusers ranged from under 11 to over
21, with the majority being 16 20 years of age. There is a distinct pattern that stands out in the
accused and the accusers. The accused were mainly

Schizophrenia in The Center Cannot Hold by Elyn Saks
Introduction
This experience is much harder, and weirder, to describe than extreme fear or terror, most people
know what it is like to be seriously afraid. If they haven t felt it themselves, they ve at least seen
a movie, or read a book, or talked to a frightened friend they can at least imagine it. But
explaining what I ve come to call disorganization is a different challenge altogether.
Consciousness gradually loses its coherence, one s center gives away. The center cannot hold.
The me becomes a haze, and the solid center from which one experiences reality breaks up like a

The Causes Of The Treaty Of Versailles
After Germany lost WWI, the Germans were forced to sign a treaty, which blamed Germany for
starting the war. The Treaty of Versailles was signed June 28,1919 in the Hall of Mirrors at the
Palace of Versailles (see figure 1). The signing of the treaty was attended by 3 important world
leaders: President Wilson from the USA, Lloyd George from Britain, and Clemenceau from France.
However, they all signed the treaty for different reasons. Wilson believed in self determination and
thought that people should have their own ethnic boundaries, so he wanted an ethnic boundary for
Poland. Lloyd George wanted to stop the rise of Russia with Cordon Sanitaire, and Clemenceau
wanted to punish Germanyas revenge, and giving Poland back its land... Show more content on

The Germans were forced to give up so much because of the treaty. For example, they were
forced to pay $30 billion to the Allies (Grenville 59 71). German shipyards would have to
construct 200,000 tons of new shipping per year and hand it over to the Allies, free of charge.
(Hay 100). The problem though, was that Germany lost land, colonies, and coal fields, and by
punishing Germany, the Allies also took away Germany s way for paying the reparations. The
Germans were also not allowed to have warplanes, tanks, and submarines. Because of the treaty,
Germany lost land in Africa, Asia, and also Alsace and Lorraine to France (Grenville 39).
Germany lost all her colonies and was split by the Polish Corridor so Poland could have access
to the sea. WWII was fought by Germany to gain back what was lost in WWI, so Versailles was
to blame for WWII. Germany fought specifically in the second war to reverse the verdict of the
first and to destroy the settlement which followed it (Taylor 41), so the two wars were linked.
Woodrow Wilson, who signed the treaty, said, No people must be forced under sovereignty under
which it does not wish to live (Spielvogel 745), and he believed in self determination, but Poland
was taken away from Germany so the Polish people would have Poland again, and yet Germany
was not allowed an anschluss with Austria, even though Austrians spoke

Symbolism Rendering The Hidden Meaning of The Story Symbolism is an important element
in reinforcing the meaning of a story. It is a kind of formalist strategies which helps the reader

The Story of An Hour and The Cranes , which use conventional symbols, literary symbols, and

The couple is symbolized as crane but they commit suicide to end their dreadful life suffering from
their sickness. The author uses the water and hull of car as symbols in the story. the water
looked like metal, still and hard. (Meinke, 259) and The hull of the car gleamed beetle like dull
and somehow sinister in its metallic isolation. (Meinke, 260) shows the symbolization by
describing the water and hull of the car. Both of the descriptions are related to the gun that the
couple uses for committing suicide. They are hard, metallic like, and callous which is just like the
gun. These also symbolize the grim tone in the story. It is stillness because the couple is going to
commit suicide. The final symbol in the story is the direction that the cranes fly to. ...their great
wings beating the air and their long slender necks pointed like arrows toward the sun. (Meinke,

western paradise of ultimate bliss, which means they kill themselves by shooting the gun to end
their lives. Flying toward the sun is a traditional symbol that says that people will go to paradise
after they die. The combination of those symbols in the story raises the controversy of suicide to
the readers. Refering to the story, the couple chooses euthanasia because they are in pain from
sickness. It also raises the question of whether we

Discussion of State Sovereignty and Globalization
This paper aims to discuss the rather amorphous concepts of state sovereignty and Globalization
and how the notion of sovereignty has been diluted over the years by this phenomenon of
globalization. To narrow down the analysis this paper will consider the dilution of sovereignty
under the light of a primary force of globalization; Transnational Corporations. With the birth of the
state, the concept of sovereigntyoriginated. This included both internal and external sovereignty;
however, the latter was recognized much later after the end of the Thirty Years War and the signing
of the Treaty of Westphalia. Internal Sovereignty was defined as the ability to exercise control and

Descartes Myth-Gilbert Ryle
Gilbert RyleВ’s The Concept of Mind
Gilbert Ryle (1900 76) was a philosopher who taught at Oxford and who made important
contributions to the philosophy of mind and to ordinary language philosophy. His most important
writings included Philosophical Arguments (1945), The Concept of Mind (1949), Dilemmas
(1954), Plato s Progress (1966), and On Thinking (1979).
The Concept of Mind (1949) is a critique of the notion that the mind is distinct from the body, and
it is a rejection of the theory that mental states are separable from physical states. According to
Ryle, the classical theory of mind, as represented by Cartesian rationalism, asserts that there is a
basic distinction between mind and matter. However, the classical theory makes a ... Show more

Thus, the mind consists of various abilities or dispositions that explain such behaviors as
learning, remembering, knowing, feeling, or willing. However, personal abilities or dispositions
are not the same as mental processes or events. To refer to abilities or dispositions as if they are
mental occurrences is to make a basic kind of category mistake.
The nature of a personВ’s motives may be defined by the actions and reactions of that person in
various circumstances or situations. The nature of a person s motives in a particular situation may
not necessarily be determined by any hidden mental processes or intellectual acts within that
person. Motives may be revealed or explained by a personВ’s behavior in a situation.
Ryle criticizes the theory that the mind is a place where mental images are apprehended, perceived,
or remembered. Sensations, thoughts, and feelings do not belong to a mental world distinct from
the physical world. Knowledge, memory, imagination, and other abilities or dispositions do not
reside within the mind as if the mind were a space in which these dispositions could be situated or
located. Furthermore, dispositions are not the same as behavioral actions; actions may, however, be
explained by dispositions.
Dispositions are neither visible nor hidden, because they are not in the same logical category as
behavioral actions. Dispositions are not mental processes or intellectual

Citizen journalism is news that comes from the larger public and not well known and legitimate

most recognized in the form of blogs or wiki sites. 15211 is a citizen journalism site that is based
in Mt. Washington which is a small part of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The title of the blogrelates to
the blog because it is the zip code for Mount Washington residents. The blog discusses current

That is the point of a blog and we intend to keep true to the medium. We know that our opinions
may not be yours and vice versa, but we respect the fact that you re here....
This allows more people to openly express their opinion and respond to the opinion of the creator
without feeling judged. Another upside to citizen journalism is that it is very easy to share and
connect with the site and the other followers. On the 15211 home page they have a tiny box in
the middle of the page that allows you to share or bookmark the site to 11 different social
networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Google Bookmarks. On the site, the blog creators
also allow people to view a live Twitter comment feed on the website so that they don t have to

negative thing about citizen journalism is that they mostly only apply to specific publics/audiences
and although the internet has many different blogs and wiki sites that attract all people, it still
doesn t cover everyone, especially older generations who are against the change in the way that we
view and access our information. Being able to expand to just more than one specific public might

death in SLE patients are Infections and diseases of the cardiovascular, renal, pulmonary, and

In spite of the improvement of the survival rate, patients with SLE still have a higher death rate (3 5

B.Etiology:
The definite pathologic mechanisms of SLE remain elusive, and the etiology of SLE is known to
be multi factorial, involving genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors. Environmental triggers
with susceptible genetic background, act on the immune system to initiate autoimmunity (Tiffin et

Orthodontic Treatment
Orthodontic experts recommend that children be screened for braces by the time they turn 7. This
is the recommended age because the child s permanent first molars (upper and lower) should

For this reason, our patients receive an orthodontic evaluation at each routine visit.

In some cases, early orthodontic treatment may actually prevent a future problem from developing,
decrease the amount of time that treatment is necessary when the child is older, make future any

situations when an orthodontist must address issues as the face and jaws are still forming. With the
benefit of early, routine orthodontic evaluations at Pediatric Dentistry of Central Florida, you
provide your child with his or her best chance for a healthy, vibrant smile.

Workers in these businesses are subject to vulnerability in forced labor because they fear

The ten year span of the Great Depression showed families how to live without a stable home or
even going to bed without dinner some nights. First off, many people living in the 1930 s were
unemployed and homeless, causing them to live in Hoovervilles. The citizens living in
Hoovervilles lived unsanitary lives and often faced hunger. In fact, Hoovervilles were built out of
unwanted material and provided little shelter. Many put all the blame on the then president, Herbert
Hoover, when he refused to help his people through this life changing event. The comparison of
Hoover and his poor decisions often got compared to the poor situations that his people had to live
in. Hoover should no support during his presidency. Therefore, life during the depression was very
difficult, leaving many starving and living in hoovervilles which provided little to no shelter.
When the stock market crashed, many were left homeless and unemployed. Many started building
houses out of scraps and unwanted materials (Paul). Hoovervilles were then created as they were
the only form of shelter some people had. Living in Hoovervilles were very unsanitary (Newsela).
Many families did not have the resources to build a hooverville, so many crowded in with family.
Hooverville shanties were made of cardboard, glass, lumber, tin and whatever other materials
people could find. (Newsela). Because of that, many of the hoovervilles were torn down by police
or destroyed by the weather. The

Ursa Major Research Paper
Ursa Major, translated from Latin means Larger bear/Great Bear . This constellation contains the
group of stars commonly known as the Big Dipper, although apparently many people to this day
confuse the Big Dipper as a constellation itself however it is but an asterism, a distinctive group of
stars.
The whole of Ursa Major is difficult to see without very dark skies (perhaps during winter, out of
the city...) the Big Dipper is one of the most recognizable patterns in the Northern sky.
I chose this constellation as my favourite as I ve read stories about the Underground Railroad
which helped slaves escape from the South before the Civil War, they actually sang songs which
spread across the slave population which referred to The Drinking Gourd , ... Show more content on

There is a famous myth behind Ursa Major which also tells the story of Ursa Minor.
The Greek God Zeus was smitten by a nymph called Callisto. Zeus s wife Hera then turned
Callisto into a bear out of jealousy. While she was a bear Callisto encountered her son Arcas, who
wanted to kill the bear out of pure instinct. Zeus wanting to stop Arcas from killing Callisto, turned
Arcas into a bear too and placed mother (Ursa Major) and son (Ursa Minor) permanently in the
night sky to keep Callisto safe.
Goddess Aphrodite was admired by all, she could bring the whole nation down to their knees with
her beauty. She was married to the God Hephaestus which was arranged by Zeus once he realized
the threat that she imposed with her beauty.
Aphrodite refused to marry Hephaestus when she was first approached by Zeus. She loved a
mortal man Adonis, and they had a child. Zeus became so outraged at Aphrodite s refusal to
marry his son, the God of the Forge that he slaughtered the family of Adonis turned him into a
bear so that he could never speak , and sent him(Ursa Major) and their love child(Ursa Minor) to
the night sky to stay there forever, teaching Aphrodite a valuable lesson why the paths of mortals
and immortals should never cross. If she was to allow Adonis and their son breathe in the heavens,

Don River Watershed Essay
As one of the watersheds in TRCA jurisdiction, the Don River watershed is over 80% developed
and has a very high rainfall runoff response. There are three high risk flood vulnerable areas in
this watershed; the Hoggs Hollow, Lower Don, and the Yonge and Elgin Mills area. A
hydrological model has been established for Don Riverwatershed and has been updated in 2004.
After that, 12 years of meteorological and stream flow data has been collected and a number of
significant storm events have occurred. Another hydrologyupdate is deemed necessary to utilize the
new datasets and to confirm the design requirement for a number of key projects.
The hydrology update for the Don River watershed will follow the standard procedure for
hydrological modelling including modelling platform selection, watershed delineation, model
parameterization, model calibration and validation, and model simulation (scenario evaluation).
The main objectives of this model update are as follows:

Compare And Contrast The Classical Schools Of Crime...
Ashley Smith
CRJU 1400
LU Review Five Questions
Review Questions for Learning Unit 5 Explain the differences between the conflict view and
consensus view.
Compare and contrast the classical school of criminology and the positivist school of criminology.
(cause of crime and its remedy)
Compare and contrast the structural view of crime causation and the ethical view of crime causation
(cause and remedy)
Describe the basic premise of the sociological school of criminology.
How do the genders differ in their moral development according to the Ethics of care?
Why is the law not the highest aspiration of morality?
Read exercise 5.1 (pg 66) and answer the posed questions.
Read exercise 5.6 (pg 68) and answer the posed question. Consensus view holds that societies
consensus is held through behavior that is harmful to deserves to be government prohibition.
However, conflict view is where the behavior is criminalized when it serves the interest of
someone with a position of power. Therefore, consensus is society making the laws, while conflict
is the powerful minority making the law.
Classical School of Criminology is basically the theory of free will. This states that the decisions
that are formulated are of an individual s own will. It also says, that the punishment is a deterring
crime, as long as, it is carried out with no delay and is appropriate or proportion to the crime that
was committed. While classical schools claim that people are pleasure seekers, they still are rational
creatures that act on selfishness, and are deemed as moral creatures. They also concern with
retribution by creating an environment where crime is based fully on free will. Positivist School of
Criminology; on the other hand, takes a different approach to the position as they establish rational
independence. It states that the criminal behavior is caused by social and psychological reasonings.
Positivist School focuses on reforming the offenders by logically identifying and isolation the cause
of the individual s criminal behavior. Though different they compare the same ideas that criminal
behaviors control the consequences of the human nature that inhabits in all humans. They both
believe that crimes are committed by

The Four Forms Of Government In Plato s The Republic
In Plato s The Republic, we are introduced to four forms of government, their causes, their reign,
and their downfall. These four forms of government are timocracy, oligarchy, democracy, and
tyranny. The most intriguing and well known form to us is perhaps democracy with its rights and
said freedoms . It is best to examine the fine details of the institution that we as Americans, and most
importantly as humans, get the privilege to enjoy. Democracyhas its humble beginnings, time to
govern, and time to be replaced.
Like all forms of government, democracy must start as an idea and make its way into effect.
Democracy can be found in nations where poverty and prosperity are both common, such as here in
the modern day United States and ancient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a democracy is finally established the people feel as if they have won and their voice is
finally heard. Democracy is described as being the son of a stingy oligarchic man who is driven
by his unnecessary appetites. A constitution is set up in favor of not just the majority or the
minority but for the state as a whole. In a democracy the people are encouraged to think freely
and to form opinions on how their government should work or think. Opposition is inevitable in
a democracy and different view points are bound to happen. If one side attempts to shun the
ideas of one group because it does not align with their ideals then that should not be welcome.
Opposing viewpoints are guaranteed under a democracy and we should not discredit those who
do not agree with us. When the people are given the chance to vote they are given an opportunity
that only the free may utilize. Voting is perhaps the greatest quality of a free and fair democracy.
If the electors vote for someone who is educated, fair, and well intentioned then they become one
step closer to achieving peace and prosperity. If the electors vote for someone who is unfit to hold
power then they have put their rights and freedom in grave danger. The unfit will use their power
and ability to oppress the people and scrap everything a democracy has

Introduction. Anyone Who Has Ever Made And Broken A New
Introduction
Anyone who has ever made and broken a New Year s Resolution can appreciate the difficulty of
behavior change. Making a lasting change in behavior is rarely a simple process, and usually
involves a substantial commitment of time, effort, and emotion. Every year, much of the energy the
U.S. consumes is wasted costing businesses money and leading to increased carbon pollution.
Energy efficiency is one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to combat climate change, clean
the air we breathe and improve the competitiveness while reducing the operational costs to
businesses. Specifically, one organization can reduce costs by up to ten thousand dollars annually
by becoming energy efficient. Yet, convincing corporate culture... Show more content on

Although it is a clear advantage, achieving energy efficiency for budgetary reason will not engage
employees to participate. To educate employees on the need to conserve energy throughout the
office, it is vital to engage them as partners. The energy used to power the offices result in half of
our nation s greenhouse gas emissions. We have the largest opportunity to save energy, money, and
protect the environment by increasing energy efficiency within the office space. Ultimately,
becoming energy efficient results in saving the American businesses more than $500 billion a year
in avoided energy costs (Unkown, 2012), avoiding other cost cutting measures.
Information and advice are not enough, behavioral changes must happen though contextual factors
such as habits and routines. The theories of change support interventions by describing how
behaviors develop and change over time. Operant conditioning based on a reward system or positive
reinforcement is easily implemental within a corporate environment. For example, all employees
who enable hibernation mode on their office desktops during off peak hours, reducing energy
consumption of ten percent while idle, will be permitted to leave ten minutes prior to their normal
shift end. This not only rewards the employee with an addition hour weekly of paid time off but
save on energy consumption during that time as well. In addition to a reward based

Pure Products Of America Essay
Anna Baldwin Dr. Shaheen Literary Analysis The pure products of America What is the
American Dream? In the poem, To Elsie, William Carlos Williams asks us the many questions
lurking beneath the pavement of our perception behind the American dream: what are the pure
products of America and what is the reality of this imagined concept? Through the use of texture
and form, Williams perfectly depicts with cynical aptitude the recycled degradation of society.
In To Elsie, a depraved America is personified through the history and conception of a woman
named Elsie. The poem begins in the muck and destitution of the lower working class. When a
woman is raped, a child named Elsie is born out of wedlock and that child grows to become a
housemaid of a rich doctor s family. Almost in cycle, she becomes the subject of prying eyes and
perverse fantasies of rich men. Elsie is thus a symbol of America used and corrupted by the
debauched society we live in. From the very beginning, the poem s diction is designed as a
method of psychology to detach the mind of the reader from the picture portrayed. In the
introductory line, The pure products of America... go crazy (l.1, l.2), the mind of the reader is
manipulated by use of the words pure products. There is an emphasis of stressed R s consonants,
especially in the words products and crazy , giving essentially a very raw and industrial grinding
roll of the tongue. When one thinks of the word product, they are

Supreme Court Process
The Supreme court once handled a criminal trial? Today, the mere mention of lynching evokes
negative reactions from people, but in the past not so much. If you were a person of color, you
feared lynching because laws were either not enforced or did not exist to protect you from that
disgusting method of death. I want to examine the history of the court case, United States v.
Shipp (1906), to give one account of the American legal process eked a victory for African
Americans. The Supreme Court case is notable because the legal process brought few victories for
Blacks in the late/early 20th century America. For example, the thought of a Black man causing
harm to a white woman was fatally unforgivable and some were lynched by the public, regardless
of their innocence. In the case of Ed Johnson of Tennessee, he met that same fate; his sixth
amendment rights were violated in the process. He was a citizen of the United States, and
guaranteed the same rights as anyone else living in the country. In addition, Joseph Shipp, the
sheriff of the town failed to protect... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

significant background into lynching cases in the United States. I want to examine various sources
before, during and after the case. Shipp received a hero s welcome when he returned from his short
stint in prison. Towards the end of my paper, I will connect the significance of the case to African
Americans disproportionally having fatal encounters with police today. The legacy of the case puts
greater importance on the Supreme Court verdict, a decision during the early African American

Physical Consequences Of Child Abuse
Child Abuse: Physical, Mental,Emotional and Sexual Abuse
What is Child Abuse? Child abuse is the deliberate and willful injury of a child by an adult or
guardian; hitting, beating, slamming against an object, or maybe even killing (According to the
writer of The Free Dictionary.com). It involves active, hostile, aggressive treatment. The key word
in the definition of child abuse is deliberate. Why would anyone physically harm a child? The
physical destruction of a child is the extreme reaction of parents to the stress of having children.
Moreover, not only is this against the law and wrong, but it has a long term negative effect on a

One law that has been put in place is Child Protective Service (CPS). In 2001, an estimated 3
million children were reported to state Child Protective Service (CPS) agencies as suspected victim
of abuse and neglect. Out of those three million children one million children were confirmed
victim of maltreatment (physical abuse, mental/ emotional abuse and sexual abuse) with another
4 million involved in referrals to Child Protective Services. CPS is when a child is removed
from family because he/she can t protect his/her child and show them the love and attention a
child needs. Also because the parent may be abusing the child, hitting them, beating them,
starving, and much more. Another law that has been put in place due to excessive unreported
and reported cases of child abuse is jail time. According to Criminal.findlaw, when sentenced
with child abuse they will look at the age of the child, the state the abuse occurred in, the
criminal history of the offender and etc. When dealing with sentencing for child abuse it is
difficult for everyone reason why most cases go unreported. Also when being sentenced for
child abuse it can be considered as a felony in most cases, however, in the least serious cases it
may not be considered a felony. If a case become serious depending on what happened and the
state it happened in a person could up to five years jail time. Other results could be

Difference Between Polyface And Industrial Model Of Food...
Key differences between the operating system of Polyface and the industrial model of food
production 1.Polyface model Integrated strategy: Polyface is a small scale, community oriented
farming. It was envisioned to be an environmentally sustainable farm, effectively utilizing the
resources inherent in the land, and mimicking the natural ecosystem. The activities of the farm
animals complimented each other and contributed to the overall effectiveness and productivity of
the farm s system. The waste produced was ultimately returned back to the land. For example
Polyface utilized excreta and composted internal organs of the farm animals for use as natural
fertilizer for the grass. It believed in nature s biodiversity system and maintained its animal ratio
accordingly to suit that system. For example the hen to cow ratio was 16:1 which effectively
helped process the cow manure. Polyface focused on organic farming, selling the bulk of their
products locally. Compared to the industrial model, Polyface produced... Show more content on

For example Polyface produced variety of products: beef, pork, chicken, turkey, rabbit, eggs,
vegetables etc. the infrastructure cost was $0.50 per $1 of sales compared to $4 per $1 of sales
for other farms. This was because it was used for various purposes for different species
throughout the year. Polyface has been able to leverage the operational synergies between its
various inter dependant processes and it has also utilized the waste it produces to further its
operational efficiency. The main difficult aspect in such a case is to manage the inter
dependencies between the processes as a problem in one process will affect the other. Since the
proportional output level is determined by the process synergies. In case of any expansion the
challenge is to ensure that the operational synergies are not

Strengths And Weaknesses Of An Interview
When you are facing an interview, no matter what position or company you have applied for, the
hiring manager will definitely throw a question that demands a candidate to talk about his strong
and weak points. While some recruiters might straightforwardly put this question, others might
twist and frame it in confusing phrases or make you imagine a hypothetical situation. Although
preparing answers in advance can help you answerthis tricky questionwell, merely parroting them
won t earn you the brownie points or tell the interviewer who you really are.
The strength weakness pair question is an opportunity to convey why you are an apt candidate for
the position. While answering questions that point out your flaws in the middle of an interview
might seem awkward, this is a common practice followed by the hiring managers to understand
what qualities a candidate possesses that will aid him/her to succeed in the job and judge whether
the person is capable of overcoming obstacles.
How to answer What is your greatest weakness?
Every person has some imperfections that usually one dreads to admit especially in an interview
when the ultimate aim is to cast an impression on the hiring manager. Even though the recruiter is
not expecting a hundred percent honest answer, this section of an interview is intentionally designed

Analysis Of I Was Sleeping Where The Black Oaks Move
As a reader, a human, and a creature, what makes one connect to the natural spirit world?
Grievances, mourning, and anger are human emotions, but could these three emotions be used to
describe the natural world of Mother Nature? In 1984, award winning author Louise Erdrick of
French Chippewa descent used personification, imagery, and a theme of unrest for the Native
American people and spirit to craft I Was Sleeping Where the Black Oaks Move. Louise Erdrich
was born in Little Falls, Minnesota, and raised in Wahpeton, North Dakotaby her mother, a
Chippewa, and father, a German. The daughter of two Wahpeton Indian School teachers and the
granddaughter of the tribal chair for the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Reservation, Erdrich was
bathed in the culture, life, myth, of the reservation and Native American culture. In 1976, Erdrich
received her bachelor s degree from Dartmouth and soon moved back to North Dakota to pursue
teaching. However, two years later Erdrich received a fellowship to teach composition and
creative writing at Johns Hopkins University where she completed her Master s degree a year
later. Upon the completion of her fellowship, Erdrich moved to Boston and became the editor of
the Boston Indian Council newspaper, The Circle. Furthermore, Erdrich published several critically
claimed works including Jacklight a collection of poetrywhich included I Was Sleeping Where the
Black Oaks Move ()

The Devil Tree Short Story
THE HOUSE There was once a tree the local farmers and city folk referred too as the Devil Tree.
According to local legend, those who came in contact with the tree, especially anyone who did
harm to the Devil Tree, had dire consequences. Cursed! exclaimed the men and women of the
city. They may have been right, as it seems generations of people already lay dead due to the
Devil Tree. As time went on the old tree was finally cut down. The tree was cut into building
wood and later built into a house, and like the tree, the house was alive. It had memory and most
importantly it had hunger. Over many more generations the house passed from owner to owner
until one year, an unordinary couple bought the house. The Hatman s lived in the house for five
years during the 80s without moving out. People in the city became curious, specifically one
person: Dr. Toboggan. He had lived next door to the house for fifteen years and heard all the
horrible things that had happened inside the house. Now even though he still hears the noises he
sees the Hatman s get their mail every day. One day he saw the Hatman s bring something into their
house and it moved and jerked back and forth. He then waited a few minutes then grabbed a camera
and entered the house through the back window. As he jumped through the window he heard a loud
screech coming from the basement. As Dr. Toboggan crept through the house he saw unimaginable

  • 2. Development Of Generic Product And Approval Generally, an ANDA sponsor of the topical dermatological product has to undergo multiple review cycles with the FDA before the product gets approved and the sponsor has to wait for a longer time mostly. Even though the ICH CTD, ICH Q8 describes the generation of product development report, it is not still clear to ANDA sponsors how this actually applies. As a result, more internal meetings and discussions between the sponsors and the FDA delays the product approval. One of the ways to overcome these challenges is to have a product development report with verified and justified specifications based on the QbD efforts which can help the Office of Generic Drugs (OGD) to be efficient in understanding the developed generic product and approval ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The foremost criteria in developing a generic topical dermatological product is to meet the pharmaceutical and therapeutic equivalency of the RLD. A therapeutic equivalence is the one which has the same clinical effect and safety profile as given in the label of the RLD and a pharmaceutical equivalence is the one which contains identical amount of same active ingredient corresponding to the same route of administration in the same dosage form with similar mechanism of release and similar rate and extent of the absorption of the RLD. The current paradigm to get an approval by an ANDA sponsor is by proving the therapeutic equivalence to the RLD by testing whereas the proposed QbD approach requires the sponsors to meet the equivalence on the basis of defined design targets. More specifically, a well defined rational approach behind each testing is required for proving the pharmaceutical equivalence and bioequivalence [18]. When talking about the design of equivalence of a generic dermatological topical product, the criteria for Q1 and Q2. Additionally, in some cases, the Q3 criteria has to be satisfied in addition to Q1 and Q2 Topical solutions can be stated as an example for Q3. The Q1, Q2 and Q3 may not be a feasible option if the patent of the RLD is considerably protected. In such cases, the generic manufacturer may be in a position to look for alternate ... • 4. Stereotypes In The Outsider Stephanie Beatriz writes, When you label somebody and put them in a box, then you put the lid on the box, and you just never look inside again. I think it s much more interesting for human beings to look at each other s stories and see each other. Really see each other and then see themselves through other people s stories. That s where you start to break down stereotypes (brainyquote.com). This quote represents how if you labelsomeone you put them in the box because that is not who the truly are and when a person takes off a lid and listen to their story it is a lot more interesting. Unfortunately Society today, the first second they meet a new person they judge the book by it s cover without reading the book and getting to know them. Much... • 5. Eu Law Essay The Treaty of Lisbon (ToL) was signed by twenty seven member states (MS) on 13th December 2007 and entered into force on 1st December 2009 ending several years of negotiation about institutional issues. Below we will look at how the ToL has reformed the European Union (EU). The changes introduced by the ToL lie predominantly in the areas of constitutional and institutional reform. However, institutional change is the key driver behind the ToL. We will look at how the ToL has brought about these changes. Initially the ToL was named the Reform Treaty however as Portugal held presidency at the time they were keen to attach their name to it hence the reason it was called the Treaty of Lisbon. By replacing the EC the three pillar structure which was introduced by the Treaty of Maastricht and which characterised the EC was abolished by the ToL. The three pillars together constituted the EC however the ToL abolishes the three pillar structure and instead the EU will only be one title. Prior to the ToL coming into force the EC and the EU had different statutes and did not operate the same decision making rules. The ToL will end this dual system and the EU will have its own legal personality. This will allow the EU to act more effectively, coherently and credibly in its relations with the rest of the world. The institutional framework of the EU has been significantly altered. The need for transparency, better democratic accountability and enhanced judicial scrutiny has led to some important improvements in the EU s institutional make up. There are now seven EU institutions which are listed in Article 13 of the TEU. These are : the European Parliament; the European Council; the Council; the European Commission; the Court of Justice of the European Union (formerly the ECJ); the European Central Bank; and the European Court of Auditors. The European Parliament (EP) is the one that has changed the most over the years. The EP was originally set up by the Treaty of Rome as the European Assembly. The European Assembly changed name to the EP when the Single European Act came into force. When it was first set up it comprised of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Bionic Man And The Morality Of Bioengineering The Bionic Man and the Morality of Bioengineering Thomas Jefferson once declared the rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness to be inalienable rights. Before him, John Locke espoused the philosophical view of Libertarianism with the belief that everyone has the right to life, liberty, health, and property. Since the Enlightenment there has been an emphasis on life, but rarely has the quality of life been an issue. There are no written ethical codes in science or engineering that defines what should be an appropriate quality of life. Perhaps we are approaching the time where such measures need to be addressed. The 21st century has seen the intersection of medicine and technology. With the emergence and development of bioengineering, or the application of engineering to the natural world, society has seen rapid and accelerated change to how we interact with each other. For example, a recent experiment with preschool children and a robotic dog was conducted in 2006 to explore the relationship between humans and robotics. AIBO, Artificial Intelligence Bot, was introduced to a group of preschool children. The children were given 45 minutes of interaction with AIBO and a stuffed dog which acted as a control. The results indicated that while both the stuffed animal and AIBO received the same amount of engagement, AIBO received more verbal instructions and was mistreated less than the stuffed dog. Ultimately, the pre school children were not pretending when they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

San Antonio has had many talks and negotiations throughout the last two decades on getting a Light Rail system constructed to help with public transportation. This proposal is for specific businesses, the city of San Antonio and Bexar County to come to a funding agreement. Funding for projects is always a topic of discussion, payments for a sculptor to sculpt a statue, and hiring wrecking crews for doing their job are just small examples. The funding cost for Light Rail is extremely high when it comes to construction, these prices are something that a any+ billionaire can personally handle. These prices are always subject to change because of materials used and the constant change of technology. • 10. Using A Virtual Private Network VPNs By Samantha Fitzpatrick Prepared for Dr. Ford 30 April 2015 Introduction There is a growing need to connect to internal networks from locations other than the regular and secure office. Employers and organizations need to realize that employees often need to connect to internal private networks from home, hotels, airports, etc. A solution for this problem is using a virtual private network (VPN), which is a network that uses public network paths, but maintains the security and protection of private networks. Secure communication is expensive, but VPNs allow organizations to have a number of discrete communication services for a large amount of clients. It is cheaper to have a copious amount of virtual networks on a couple physical devices than having a copious amount of physically discrete devices accomplishing the same objective. Methodology VPNs transmit data through secure tunneling. A packet is first encapsulated in a new packet with a new header and then sent through the tunnel, which is normally IPSec, L2TP, PPTP, or SSL. Both points of the tunnel need to support the protocol used. To provide access to the internet, the packet with a private IP address can be sent inside of a packet with a global IP address. For security, VPNs use encryption to make sure packets are indecipherable without the proper keys, which provides data confidentiality. They also provide data integrity using a message digest to ensure the information has not been tampered with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Symbolically, P = [m (D+E/3)] Where P is the market price, M is the multiplier, D is dividend per share, E is Earnings per share. Drawbacks of the Traditional Approach: As per this approach, there is a direct relationship between P/E ratios and dividend payВout ratio. High dividend payВout ratio will increase the P/E ratio and low dividend payВout ratio will decrease the P/E ratio. This may not always be true. A company s share prices may rise in spite of low dividends due to other factors. 15.3 Dividend Relevance Model Under this section we examine two theories Walter Model and Gordon Model. 15.3.1 Walter Model Prof. James E. Walter considers dividend payВ outs are relevant and have a bearing on the share prices of the firm. He further states, investment policies of a firm cannot be separated from its dividend policy and both are interВlinked. The choice of an appropriate dividend policy affects the value of the firm. His model clearly establishes a relationship between the firm s rate of return r, its cost of capital k, to give a dividend policy that maximizes shareholders wealth. The firm ... A Trip At The New World Japes traveled for almost three days before he arrived in the new world, a relaxing trip as the meandering trail passed many beautiful country estates a far cry from the bustling metropolis and quite unexpected. When he finally arrived at the new hotel, he was surprised by the quaint elegance. This would be the first time he worked at a Hilltop Hotela chain known for its unparalleled commitment to customer service. He was welcomed to the hotel by a nice young bellman, his new boss, however, was on vacation, just the same he was determined to evaluate the lay of the land on his own. The cafeteria was all dark grey concrete with a small salad bar set to the side. It looked like a prison cell. The laundry area and housekeeping department were also all in concrete. The building was much older than he had thought, although it looked almost new on the outside. Japes entire focus changed from the hotel to the servers managing the hotel. Anti psychotic medication works by binding to a specific receptor in the brain, known as dopamine receptor D2 (Kapur, 2000). By blocking this receptor, symptoms of psychosis are controlled. As symptoms of stimulant psychosis are very similar to the positive symptoms of schizophrenia, anti psychotic medication is the preferred medication to treat affected individuals. Two types of anti psychotic medications have been developed, typical and atypical. Typical anti psychotics have a high potency and high affinity to D2 receptors, however this can cause extrapyramidal effects and Parkinsonism (Golan Tashjian, 2012). Atypical anti psychotics have a lower potency and low affinity to D2 receptors and less side effects. Therefore, anti psychotic medication must block an appropriate amount of D2 receptors as a deficiency of dopamine can cause extrapyramidal effects and even worsen the negative symptoms whereas an excess results in psychosis. Another upside to citizen journalism is that it is very easy to share and connect with the site and the other followers. On the 15211 home page they have a tiny box in the middle of the page that allows you to share or bookmark the site to 11 different social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Google Bookmarks. On the site, the blog creators also allow people to view a live Twitter comment feed on the website so that they don t have to have Twitter to view the comments people are making about the blog posts. Citizen Journalism good at sharing information and allowing others to participate in the discussion, but being completely opinionated and specific on one topic is not always a good thing. On negative thing about citizen journalism is that they mostly only apply to specific publics/audiences and although the internet has many different blogs and wiki sites that attract all people, it still doesn t cover everyone, especially older generations who are against the change in the way that we view and access our information. Admiral Locklear stated before the House Appropriations Committee Defense Subcommittee on PACOM Posture in March 2015 that recent statements by senior Chinese leaders, such as President Xi Jinping, suggest that China may be attempting to advance a vision for an alternative security architecture in Asia that affords Beijing increased influence in the region and diminishes the role of the United States. Ashley Smith CRJU 1400 LU Review Five Questions Review Questions for Learning Unit 5 Explain the differences between the conflict view and consensus view. Compare and contrast the classical school of criminology and the positivist school of criminology. (cause of crime and its remedy) Compare and contrast the structural view of crime causation and the ethical view of crime causation (cause and remedy) Describe the basic premise of the sociological school of criminology. How do the genders differ in their moral development according to the Ethics of care? Why is the law not the highest aspiration of morality? Read exercise 5.1 (pg 66) and answer the posed questions. Read exercise 5.6 (pg 68) and answer the posed question. Consensus view holds that societies consensus is held through behavior that is harmful to deserves to be government prohibition. However, conflict view is where the behavior is criminalized when it serves the interest of someone with a position of power. Therefore, consensus is society making the laws, while conflict is the powerful minority making the law. Classical School of Criminology is basically the theory of free will. This states that the decisions that are formulated are of an individual s own will. It also says, that the punishment is a deterring crime, as long as, it is carried out with no delay and is appropriate or proportion to the crime that was committed. While classical schools claim that people are pleasure seekers, they still are rational creatures that act on selfishness, and are deemed as moral creatures. They also concern with retribution by creating an environment where crime is based fully on free will. Positivist School of Criminology; on the other hand, takes a different approach to the position as they establish rational independence. It states that the criminal behavior is caused by social and psychological reasonings. Positivist School focuses on reforming the offenders by logically identifying and isolation the cause of the individual s criminal behavior. Though different they compare the same ideas that criminal behaviors control the consequences of the human nature that inhabits in all humans. They both believe that crimes are committed by ... In a democracy the people are encouraged to think freely and to form opinions on how their government should work or think. Opposition is inevitable in a democracy and different view points are bound to happen. Opposing viewpoints are guaranteed under a democracy and we should not discredit those who do not agree with us. • 48. Pure Products Of America Essay Anna Baldwin Dr. Shaheen Literary Analysis The pure products of America What is the American Dream? In the poem, To Elsie, William Carlos Williams asks us the many questions lurking beneath the pavement of our perception behind the American dream: what are the pure products of America and what is the reality of this imagined concept? Through the use of texture and form, Williams perfectly depicts with cynical aptitude the recycled degradation of society. In To Elsie, a depraved America is personified through the history and conception of a woman named Elsie. The poem begins in the muck and destitution of the lower working class. When a woman is raped, a child named Elsie is born out of wedlock and that child grows to become a housemaid of a rich doctor s family. Almost in cycle, she becomes the subject of prying eyes and perverse fantasies of rich men. Elsie is thus a symbol of America used and corrupted by the debauched society we live in. From the very beginning, the poem s diction is designed as a method of psychology to detach the mind of the reader from the picture portrayed. In the introductory line, The pure products of America... go crazy (l.1, l.2), the mind of the reader is manipulated by use of the words pure products. There is an emphasis of stressed R s consonants, especially in the words products and crazy , giving essentially a very raw and industrial grinding roll of the tongue. They may have been right, as it seems generations of people already lay dead due to the Devil Tree. As time went on the old tree was finally cut down.
