Writing an essay on the topic of "Shays' Rebellion" can present a considerable challenge due to
the complexity and multifaceted nature of the historical event. Shays' Rebellion, which took
place in 1786-1787 in Massachusetts, was a significant uprising against economic injustices and
perceived tyranny. To create a comprehensive essay, one must delve into the historical context,
explore the factors that led to the rebellion, analyze its course of events, and assess its impact on
the shaping of the United States.
Researching and gathering relevant information about the economic conditions, political
dynamics, and social tensions leading up to Shays' Rebellion is crucial. Understanding the
grievances of the participants, such as farmers facing debt and foreclosures, and the response of
the government, adds depth to the analysis. Moreover, discussing the aftermath and
consequences of the rebellion, including its influence on the drafting of the U.S. Constitution,
requires careful examination.
Crafting a coherent and well-structured essay demands the ability to synthesize information from
various sources and present a nuanced argument. The writer must navigate through historical
accounts, scholarly analyses, and primary sources to provide a balanced and informed
perspective on Shays' Rebellion. Integrating diverse viewpoints and addressing
counterarguments adds another layer of complexity to the writing process.
Additionally, maintaining clarity and avoiding an overly intricate narrative can be challenging
when dealing with a historical event with numerous interconnected factors. Striking a balance
between providing sufficient detail and ensuring readability is crucial for engaging the reader.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Shays' Rebellion" necessitates in-depth research, critical
thinking, and effective communication of historical insights. It requires the ability to synthesize

2. Theories Of Agoraphobia
Because Agoraphobia was only recently recognised as a distinct disorder little is
known about how it is caused, however it is noted that Chambless and Gracely
explain it to be a fear of fear (fear of panic attacks and their real or imagined
consequences) rather than simply a fear of public places and of being away from
home (Chambless Gracely, 1989). It should also be noted that most people with
Agoraphobia will often also have other mental disorders, most frequently other
anxietydisorders (Association., 2013).
It is not surprising that there are several different paradigms that touch on
Agoraphobia; given it is one of the oldest known anxiety disorders or sub disorders.
However the main paradigms that have distinct theories in regards
3. Survival of the Fittest
Survival of the Fittest Hard work and dedication are the sole two pieces to the
puzzle of success. A goal set in one s mind has the capacity to control their mind and
guide them in the straight path. In the book Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand, Louis
Zamperini, who starts off his childhood as a complete mess of a child by stealing
things and fighting with others, undergoes a personality change, turning into a
confident and respectable man who is trained by his brother, Pete, to run on the
track, starting on a simple high school track and escalating all the way up to running
in the Olympics. Later, he embarks upon joining the air force and subsequently gets
captured by the Japanese and is sent to POW camps. Throughout Louie s entire...

On page 292, it explains the situation at the time Louie has just arrived at Omori,
and The Bird is especially unkind with Louie after realizing the fact that he was
famous from the Olympics. Louie is filled with happiness but at the same time
incredible fear, both because he had been a recognized athlete, and that he would
most likely receive special treatment for being different. As a daily routine at
Omori is formed, Louie finds himself lacking enough consumption of protein and
has to go steal food behind The Bird s back, which was extremely risky, not
because he became back into his old mischievous self, but because it is completely
necessary in order for him to survive, and he truly wants to live through it and be
rescued. One of the primary reasons Louie resorts to stealing food in order to
survive, rather than immediately giving up all hope, is his Olympic dream;
without that dream, he would have been an ordinary POW who just hoped for a
miraculous event to occur in which all of them got saved, without the kill all order
being initiated by the Japanese. Louie s overall experience at all the camps is
enhanced by his Olympic dream, which provides him with tremendous hope, and a
positive attitude. During the imprisonment of Louie, he is able to retain faith in
himself and a sense of hope that does not seem fake. Much of the hope is to obtain
freedom, and to be get back on the
4. My Childhood Journey
I spent most of my childhood traveling the world. What a way to spend a childhood
tell you, I am the person I am today because of the places I have been, the
opportunities I have had, and the people I have met. I can not even remember the
abundant number of times I have been woken up at four am to leave for the
airport. Dragging my sleepy feet behind me and dumping myself into the car. I
remember waiting in the jet way and, the deep inhale I would take when I d first
step foot on the aircraft. Taking in a big breath of the airplane air that would
always burn through my nose and make me slightly nauseous. Over the years I
have learned to hold my breath or to breathe out of my mouth until I got to my
seat. These are the same memories I relive every time I begin a new adventure. As
a kid I thought being pulled out of school for a week to go to Belize or Grand Turk
was normal; or that every other weekend every kid went to New York for the day
to have lunch and do some light shopping then fly home that night. It was not until
one day with my twin sister sitting in the seat next to me that I realized we were
not like most kids. The flight attendant had bent down in between my sister and I
as she quietly asked us if our parents had died. At twelve years old I was shocked
and left speechless. She went on to ask us why we were in school and it flourished
into a whole conversation about our trip. This was the same plane ride where I had
one of the most interesting conversations to

It could be the indoor regulator. In the event that the issue is with the indoor

Once you ve affirmed that the heater is not the issue, there are a few things you can
do to investigate all alone before calling a repairman. On the off chance that those
don t work, then it s an ideal opportunity to enlist a jack of all trades or HVAC expert
to repair or supplant the gadget.(Kompareit.com, 2016)
Broken indoor regulator can bring about amazing temperature swings, a heater that

the indoor regulator is the issue, swing it to the inverse setting (in case you re

temperature far up. On the off chance that nothing happens following a couple of
minutes, the indoor regulator is broken or defective. (Home Guides | SF Gate, 2016)

7. The Banking Concept
There will always be someone who takes control of things. Those who are innately
dominant will often possess a strong influence over others; some people in society
have a tendency to lead while others follow. However, when the effect of power is
negative, it becomes able to destroy the very thing it has control of. In Pedagogy of
the Oppressed, the author, Paulo Freire, highlights such negativities in the classroom
setting in an education system he calls the banking concept . This idea prevents
active thinking and instead, the students absorb empty facts, keeping them stored in
their memory. Although he discusses the alternative, more positive problem posing
concept, the banking principle seems to be more prominent in Chinua Achebe s

The Umuofia clan is known for is use in medicine and religious, supernatural
customs. However, at times, the laws seem to be extremely stringent. During the
funeral of Ezeudu, Okonkwo accidentally murders Ezeudu s son, and as a result,
he and his family are banished from Umuofia for 7 years. His close friend,
Obierika, cannot help but think to himself, Why should a man suffer so grievously
for a crime he had committed inadvertently (Achebe 125). Even though the laws
were evidently harsh, the people of Umuofia assimilate to the 7 year absence of
Okonkwo and his family from the clan. Furthermore, Okonkwo himself did not
bother to challenge the sentence imposed upon him. The laws were as they were and
no one should have the audacity to change them. Here, Freire s idea of the negative
effect of depositing is applied. Freire states, The more students work at storing the
deposits entrusted to them...in the world as transformers of that world (Freire 73).
After a while, the people who are being controlled adjust to their situation, not being
aware of the destructive nature of those deposits . The catastrophic results of the
depositing principle can be seen especially during the colonization period in Things
Fall Apart. The Europeans, though they seem to have no harmful intention, end up
destroying the culture of the Umuofia clan with a religion and
8. The Genealogy of Jesus Christ
The New Testament includes four Gospels that encompass a variety of narrative
accounts relating to Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Matthew; is sequentially placed as
the first book within the New Testament. Furthermore, it is a canonical account of
the life of Jesus, and is recognized as one of the synoptic Gospels. These accounts
are divided into twenty eight chapters that appear in the form of a parable, proverb,
law, or miracle story found within modern day poetry, letters, or literary tracts.
Moreover, each narrative account possesses influential and intellectual material that
attracts readers to examine it further. However, out of the four Gospels, Matthew s is

The content and tenor of the Gospel relates to Jewish ideals and values, which lead to
the belief that Matthew s audience had a large Jewish population. His designations of
the person of Jesus are designed to appeal to a Jewish audience. His main goal was
to divert the Jews perception from Jesus being a false Messiah but rather their long
awaited Messiah. Also he tries to prove to them that the Jewish prophecies had been
fulfilled in Jesus; by refuting other Jewish leaders and their different views and
practices . Furthermore, great competition between Matthews audiences formed
because of Jesus, thus caused Matthew s plot to solely focus on conflict. This is
because Matthew is engaged in some sort of polemic against the Jewish authorities.
This is exemplified through the groups signified by the Pharisees, with Jesus
speaking about the incompetence of the Pharisees, their influence and their actions. It
is evident that Matthew s audiences were confused because Matthew brings forth a
different point of view from what they are accustomed too, through his attempt of
proving to them that Jesus is the Messiah.
In order for one to understand the opposing viewpoints within this era, Matthew s
readers need to have a thorough understanding of what the Jews perceived the
Messiah to be and the criterion the Messiah had to fulfill. The term Messiah was
derived from the Hebrew Mashiach, which means the anointed one, and refers to the
ancient practice of
9. Essay on Letters from a Skeptic
Summary: Dr. Gregory Boyd is a professor of theology at Bethel College. He
attended such universities as the University of Minnesota, Yale Divinity School,
and Princeton Theological Seminary. As well as being a professor he is a
preaching pastor at Woodland Hills Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, and has
authored three books and several articles. This particular book is a dialogue
between he and his father, Edward Boyd. Edward lives in Florida and worked for 35
years in sales management. He has six kids, 15 grandchildren, and nine great
grandchildren. Gregory attempted for years to try and convert his father to Christianity
without any success. About the time he felt like giving up on his father, he felt the

For the most part I really appreciated Gregory s answers and found them to be very
insightful, as well as theologically correct. I liked his defense of God when Edward
blamed Him for all the evil in the world. I also like how he explained the freedom
that God has chosen to give each of us, and that that very freedom, which was
given so that true love could exist, must also bear with it the possibility of evil.
Gregory said in one of his responses If we have the potential to oppress or slay
millions, it s because we also have the potential to liberate and love millions. I
thought Gregory did an exceptional job of explaining salvation to his father as
well. He gave great evidence that the Bible was, in fact, true and reliable. I,
personally, was very pleased with the apologetic effort of Dr. Boyd.
There were just a couple of things that, I did not necessarily disagree with, but that
definitely challenged my way of thinking. The first is about God s omniscience. In
Terry Bowland s Romans class, while discussing Calvinism, we went over this a
little bit. My understanding of what Dr. Bowland believes (I am sure he would
explain it better) is that God does know the future. He knows everything. Before I
was born He knew the choices I would be making today. He did not predestine me
to make these decisions, but because he is Almighty God, He simply knows the
choices that I will make. That all made sense to me until I
10. Symptoms And Treatment Of A Pressure Ulcer
A pressure ulcer is defined as a localized injury to the skin and/or underlying tissue,
usually over a bony prominence, as a result of pressure, or pressure in combination
with shear, according to the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, abbreviated
NPAUP (2007). NPUAP (2007) redefined the definition and classification of a
pressure ulcer in 2007. As a result of the modification, stages I IV, the four original
stages, underwent alterations to their existing classifications and definitions. In
addition, two stages, deep tissue injury and unstageable resulted. Through an
explanation and description of the development of a pressure ulcer and the stages,
the anatomy is shown. For a pressure ulcer to develop, damage to the lining of blood
and lymphatic vessels, or endothelial damage occur over a bony prominence as the
result of several processes such as a disrupting and shearing force (Gillick Sheerin,
2004, p. 34). Once a pressure ulcer begins to develop, deep tissue damage gradually
rises to shallower tissues. According to Gillick and Sheerin (2004), the extent of
damage caused by a pressure ulcer is related to the pressure and repeated pressure
applications and the length of time that a body part is exposed to pressure (p. 34).
Therefore, locally reduce blood flow, which could cause complications if the
endothelium is impaired, and locally reduce oxygen levels and increase carbon
dioxide levels are a direct result of irregular pressure. When the pressure is relived,
11. Analysis Of Raising Well-Educated Children
Raising Well Educated Children What does it mean to be well educated?
According to Alfie Kohn, well educated means to, . . . have the desire as well as
the means to make sure that learning never ends (Kohn). In Kohn s article, he
questions the qualifications that the public school system uses to determine what
makes a well educated student. Although he raises very important questions, Alfie
does not attempt to offer any solutions to these problems; however, I will explain
what it means to be well educated and include some information on how to decide
what environment will work best for your child. Parents must evaluate the
American public school s method of adequately preparing students for college and
future jobs, realizing there is an alternative option for educating children, so they
can truly become a well educated individual. Although I am still a student, I have
experienced or reviewed almost every type of schooling, teaching method, testing
method, and curriculum. Since my brother and I are homeschooled, my mom and I
pick which curriculums my brother and I do each year, plan the year week by
week, compare our curriculum with other types of schools, and choose what is the
best. Therefore, I want to share my knowledge with parents, who are having trouble
deciding how to make their child well educated , but what does this mean? Let s
compare me to my brother. I listen in class, take notes, highlight my book, make

12. Fast Food Restaurants Affected The Health Of Customers
Essay
Fast food restaurants raise a number of important issues related to health. In this paper
it will be argued that fast food restaurants negatively impact the health of customers.
The consumption contributes to obesity, diabetes and heart disease. However, the
growing popularity of fast causal restaurants has made healthier options more popular.
In the near future fast causal restaurants will either dominant the restaurant industry
or the fast foodrestaurants will become more like fast casual restaurants. Fast food
restaurants have been very popular in North America. The number of fast food
restaurants has been increasing and so have the sales of these restaurants.
Paeratakul, Ferdinand, Champagne, Ryan and Bray(2003) notes, More recent
estimates show that in 2001, there were about 222,000 fast food locations in the
United States, generating sales of more than $125 billion. The number is projected
to increase by 4.1% in 2002, with estimated sales of $130.1 billion (p. 1332). The
large number of fast food restaurants means that they are very accessible. This can be
seen in the large number of sales for fast food restaurants. Fast Food restaurants have
become an important part of North
American culture. Fast food plays an important part in the lifestyles of many people.
Paeratakul, Ferdinand, Champagne, Ryan and Bray(2003)explain that survey results
indicate that three of ten respondents believed that fast food was vital to their way of
life(p. 1332). Fast food has been

Diffusion and Osmosis Lab Introduction: 1) The relationship between the rate of
diffusion, volume and surface area is that the surface area of a subject somewhat
correlates with the volume of the object. When the surface area and volume are set
up as a ratio, this gives a good idea as to how fast the rate of diffusion will be. The
higher surface area to volume ratio, the faster the rate of diffusion. This is because
then there is more surfaces to diffuse through and there materials to diffuse, the rate
of diffusion is a lot faster. Conversely, when there is a smaller surface area for more
molecules to diffuse through, the rate of diffusion will be lower. 2) A few different

The last day of school was a good day. Instead of having to take an ELAR exam we
did PSP. On the last day I had ELAR for 4th and 5th period. I didn t have to do
anything. Since we didn t have to take a test we got to play games and mess around.
The day went by really slow, but I was fine with that. I was having fun messing
around and playing board games with my friends. At last, I heard the bell ring.
I walked outside of the classroom and heard a lot of noise. Everyone was so excited
that school was over. After school, I went to Top Golf with my friends. I had a
blast and then went back to my friends house and swam. The next day was my
birthday party. My friend, Grant, and I have birthdays around the same time, so we
decided to have a birthday party together. I was turning 13 and Grant was turning 14.
I had my birthday party at a place called Group Dynamixs, it is a big indoor area
where you can play a ton of different games/sports and do indoor ropes courses. I had
a lot of fun, but I was super tired after. The next days of summer went by pretty slow
which was good. It seemed like each day was 48 hours. A month later, time started to
go by a little bit faster. I felt like July decided to have 25 days instead of 31 days. I
went to Austin, Texas from 7/1/17 to 7/6/17 which was fun. I go to a place in
Austin called Lakeway every year with my family. The hotel is on Lake Travis. It
was cool and interesting to see the fireworks over the lake. This trip felt like it went

Louisiana State University, requirements are not as competitive and are usually less
strict. The required ACT score is a twenty two composite with a nineteen in math and
an eighteen in english; for the SAT, a freshman applicant must have an 1100

academic requirements include having a high schoolgrade point average of a 3.0. The
information that must be submitted are test scores, official transcript, early credit,

and a scheduled optional interview. Like Notre Dame, Stanford is a private school,
so it does not have required ACT scores, SAT scores, or grade point averages; most
students at Stanford score between a thirty and a thirty six on the ACT and a 700 in
mathematics, critical reading, and writing on the SAT; for grade point averages, most
students have above a 4.0. The typical student at Stanford has high school coursework

16. The Warming And Global Warming
The Warming World Around Us The world is warming and we cannot deny it, the
longer we deny the larger the problem it will become. Global warming is affecting
the world economy, the overall health of the population, and most importantly the
environment that surrounds us. Ignoring this problem will not just make it suddenly
disappear; the world has to make an effort to stop it while it can still be maintained.
Accepting the fact that it is happening is just the first step, the next step is taking
action and becoming informed on the issue. Leaders from all around the world are
discussing the topic of how global warmingis happening and what toll it is taking on
the world (Pew Global). They met in Copenhagen to discuss the changing of the
climate (Pew Global). They came to the conclusion that they are willing to
sacrifice a little to confront the issue of global warming (Pew Global). If
containment of this problem is expected, effort will need to be put in. Global
warming seems to be less of a problem in the US, China, and Russia but it is still a
major problem around the world (Pew Global). Just because the US is not affected
as much at the moment who is to say it will stay that way? Global warming could
hit the US hard at any minute it is the Americans job to be prepared and properly
informed. Of the people of France, Japan, and Spain 68 percent believed global
warning to be a major issue and one that needed much more attention than it has been
getting (Pew Global).
17. Candide Satire Analysis
The animalize practice of slavery causes Candide to give up on optimism. In his
travel to the New World, Candide and Cacambo meet a slave, who is missing his
left and right hand (51) lying down half naked on the ground. The slave tells
Candide about the terrible living condition and cruel punishment that he received and
that his parents sold him for ten Patagonian crowns (51) to slave trader. Ironically,
the slave says, it s normal (51) for them to get this kind of treatment because it was
common back then. And, the Dutch sorcerers, who converted him, tell him we are all
children of Adam, white and black (51). Voltaireused his satirical attack on society
and religious of what really happen at the time. The author is judging the priests who

There was certainly no equality in human since slave is treated so badly. Slave
traders did not care what would happen to the slaves as long as they get money and
make profits from it. It was common for many French colonies that make their
wealth through trading slaves. It is a wake up call from reality for Candide, an
innocent, after his trip from El Dorado, a utopian society where people are happy.
This event causes Candide to question himself of his belief, since El Dorado is
totally different from Surinam, where Candide meets the slave. Everyone in El
Dorado is equal even the King. The custom of El Dorado is to embrace the King and
kiss on both cheeks (48), no bow are required, which is not possible in the real life.
Candide s belief, the world is perfect, starts to fade away. From what he sees,
Candide weeps and starts to lost hope in Pangloss s theory: everything being made

What could be Done
Every day, every hour, every minute human trafficking is occurring with most
unaware of it. The article reporting Obama finally eliminating the loophole that
allowed imports to the United States that were produced by child or forced labour

does help to draw attention to the unpleasant but urgent subject. Most are not aware
that the technology and objects they use everyday may have been made by children

More organizations like the one that rescued Lakshmi could be made along with
campaigns and fundraisers to raise money. In the documentary Born into Brothels
children in Calcutta, who were from birth doomed to be in brothels, were given
cameras. The photos depicted life in the brothels through the children s eyes. The
woman who gave them the cameras, Zana Briski, worked to get the children out of
the brothels and into schools. Unfortunately, most the schools would not take the
children because of their backgrounds. There is nothing called hope in my future.
(Weiss) were the words of eleven year old Avijit Halder who was one of the
children born into the brothel. However, Halder is now a junior at New York
University and studying film. The documentary he was a part of turned his life
around and gave his future hope. Creating organizations and groups that raise
money to aid the children affected by sex trafficking could make an education
possible for them. Every person aware of brothels who are willing to assist the
children involved in achieving a better life can make a difference. The novel Sold
reveals that there are unthinkable exploits happening in foreign cultures that have
not had enough attention called to. Millions of children are victims of sex
trafficking with too many people unaware of how large of a problem brothels are.
Making organizations to spread awareness and give the children a better life will
make all the difference. With more children out of brothels and into schools they can
play a better role in society and have a higher quality of

metaphysical poetsare the known writers for their originality. They were all unique
and original both in their thoughts and ideas. Instead of following the path of the
contemporary poets, they differentiated themselves in an unseen style of writing
before them. Because of this, they were known as the original poets of the English
Literature. There are classified major poets who lived during 1500 1799. They are
John Donne, George Herbert, Richard Crashaw, Abraham Cowley, Henry Vaughan,
Saint Robert Southwell, Thomas Traherne and Andrew Marvell. These are the well

21. Seahorse Description
The vibrant colors of underwater fish and othercolorful sea elements enhance the
beauty of sea environments. There are more than 30 different kinds of seahorses.
Their charming formbeauty and beautyforms make them an inspiring subject yet
challenging to paint. One of favorite habitat of seahorses is seagrass. For my first
project, a yellowish brown seahorse against a blue underwater background comes to
my mind. I want to add colorful seagrass alongside the seahorse rather than plain
green seagrass. The goal is to capture the texture and rhythm of the underwater
environment.

I mask out the seahorse to protect it from the wet wash of seagrass and the second
wash of the underwater background. I apply the masking fluid to the seahorse
thickly and carefully as I would paint it. While the masking fluid dries, I prepare a
pool of ultramarine, thalo blue, thalo green, new gamboge, quinacridone gold,
magenta and indigo. I wet each seagrass with clean water and then mingle two or
three colors I prepare. I drop one color after another and allow them to blend
together. I repeat the process for the other seagrass, changing colors as I work. To
add an interesting texture, I lift out some wet colors with a face tissue. I let the
washes dry.
4. I decide to mask all seagrass before applying the second wash of the underwater
background. Using a 2 wash brush, I wet the entire paper again carefully, trying
not to disturb the initial wash. I apply new gamboge first at the left side and bottom
corner, then move into other water areas. I continue dropping in thalo blue and
ultramarine blue wet in wet. For areas where the main elements are overlapped, I
drop in thick and dark indigo to make them stand out more. Before the wash dries, I
add more salt and rubbing alcohol to the left side of the

DESIGN BY SIMON MONTEVERDI Records Management System: The purpose
of the records management system is for the user to be able to store information in
simple plain text files ready for editing manually portable safety. The coding
includes multiple functions that are of convenience for the user. The system can
be used to keep any records of information as is set out as a user management
system. The script begins with the creation of a main function which will become
the menu system. The while loop is implemented so that the main system will
allow the person to either exit the loop or add a user. The main menu offers the
user to either add a user to the records of the system or to simply exit. The two
options are created through their respective statements below: The createUser
function is used to initiate a list of information. The list will be used to hold on to
all the information inserted by the user for it to be added to the records. After that,
another loop is created. This loop will be used for when the user wishes to exit the
loop simply entering the word exit can motion the loop into action. When the
operator has exited the loop, information may be entered into the system. A
command is then given to open a certain file and insert a new string (a line which
will be added to the records document.) Once the new information has been entered,
the stream to the file is closed so as to avoid errors to/from the file later on and also
saves all alterations that
23. Relevance Of Ghost In Hamlet
A ghost is a way of revealing the presence of the past (Anonymous). In William
Shakespeare s notorious play Hamlet, the ghost greatly influences the fate of the
characters. The ghost is crucial to the play because it indicates destiny and animates
the plot. Also, the ghosts role helps categorize the play as a revenge tragedy. Before
the play s opening, the audience learns that Hamlet, the late King of Denmark, is
killed in his orchard because of a serpent s sting. The late Hamlet returns in ghost
form to reveal details of the past and he has several encounters with the main
characters, especially his son, Prince Hamlet, the protagonist of the play. The
relevance of the ghost is twofold; it sparks interest in the audience, and it supplements
the narrative of the play.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Act 1 scene 1 begins with a conversation between the guards of Elsinore castle about
the reappearing of a ghost. The guards curiously say, What has this thing appeared
again tonight? ( ). This statement provokes the audience s eagerness to continue to
follow the play because they want to know what the guards are seeing . Horatio, one
of the guards, who has not seen the ghost before, communicates his scepticism about
the ghost when he states, Tush, tush, twill not appear ( ). Horatio attempts to
question the ghost in hopes to find some answers; however, he is ignored by the
ghost. His line about the ghost not appearing creates enigma in the audience.
Questions begin to arise in the audience s minds; does this spirit truly exist, or is it
just an illusion? Without the ghost, the audience would be disinterested in the plot.
The presence of the ghost significantly impacts both the characters and the audience.
The ghost creates a sense of mystery in act 1 scene 1, keeping the characters and
audience wanting more as scene 2

There are four main characters on the hit TV show Seinfeld . The sitcom takes
place over nine seasons. The show gets its name from the main character Jerry
Seinfeld who plays himself, a stand up comedian living in New York City. The
show is based on Jerry Seinfeld s life and his experiences with his three friends.
Most of the scenes take place in Jerry s apartment in New York City, or in a coffee
shop they frequent often, Monks Coffee Shop. This particular coffee shop has only
been captured from the outside where the building is simply named Restaurant. The
actual name of the restaurant is Toms Restaurant and is still up and running today.

George is often described as a short, stocky, slow witted, bald man. There was one
point where he used those same words to describe his self in one of the scenes. His
character can best be described as a man without values, he is dishonest, deceptive,
self loathing, neurotic, insecure, stingy, and often refers to himself in the third
person. George tries to blame others for his own mistakes, has been fired from
countless jobs, and will trample over anyone, cheat, lie, and steal to get ahead. He
often uses hand gestures to illustrate and drive his points and thoughts home. George
s most notable job was working at the New York Yankee s stadium as a assistant to
the traveling secretary. The character of George Costanzais actually based on the co
creator of the Seinfeld series who did most of the shows script writing, a man by the
name of Larry David. When the Seinfeld series first began Georges actions were
restrained, however as the show carried on into later seasons you can see George
evolve into a more outlandish character with no regard for anyone but himself. He
became louder, and more inappropriate. The main reason George has the personality
trait that he has stems back to his childhood and growing up under the rein of his
mother and father Frank and Estelle Costanza. The show commonly shows scenes
where his parents are yelling at each other, never agreeing on anything. Georges
parent s have no business being together. Living under those types of conditions while
growing up, the viewer can start to understand and grasp why George Costanza is, the
way he is. George has two types of communication styles. They are interpersonal
communication and Intrapersonal communication. George Costanza uses
interpersonal communication when speaking to his friends throughout the show. He
uses intrapersonal communication due to having a low self esteem and often deems
himself unworthy. George

each stage of relapse. There are three stages of relapse. Emotional relapse Mental

possible relapse in the future. The signs of emotional relapse are: Anxiety
Intolerance Anger Defensiveness Mood swings Isolation Not asking for help Not

relapse are also the symptoms of post acute withdrawal. If you understand post
acute withdrawal it s easier to avoid relapse, because the early stage of relapse is
easiest to pull back from. In the later stages the pull of relapse gets stronger and the
sequence of events moves faster. Early Relapse Prevention Relapse prevention at
this stage means recognizing that you re in emotional relapse and changing your

themselves jumping into mischievous behavior to keep themselves busy whether it
is being destructive, pranking a friend, or being apart of ritual games. These are some
ways for children to cope with their boredom.. This is also probably one of the
reasons why kids would risk conjuring up a evil spirit looking for revenge. Mirrors

Even though some aspects of the original story have changed the story is still being
told in countless versions. Bloody Mary has played on people s desire for excitement
and it is also a way to release anxiety and experience some safe fear. With so much
talk about the Bloody Mary legend over the many decades and versions, it s a
challenge to really analyze its cultural symbolism, because it s different from culture
to culture. However, it is possible to theorize a single interpretation by examining the
more pointed points thatcomprise the legend together. The ritual is almost always
carried out by children, most commonly girls, in a dark bathroom, by means of a
chant. A woman then appears in the mirror, most typically with malicious intentions.
The legend of Bloody Mary seems to resurrect with children s comingof age. The
children most enticed by the myth are adolescent children from the ages of nine to
twelve. Children at this age look for excitement and try to find independent freedom,
sometimes in the wrong places. Bloody Mary is the true meaning for exciting fun
and a feel good rush. The way for satisfying this newfound craving for excitement
sometimes means breaking the rules a little. Opposite of the rules we are taught as
children. We are taught as children that when somebody break

how they can be easily stolen and copied using bits and the internet. Controlling

fighting so hard to retain. The RIAA, which is the Recording Industry of Association

unconventional methods to protect their property, which includes often searching and
pestering people about how they obtained copies of their music. The reason this is an
issue is because the record labels can no longer protect the music they produce,
29. Geb s Role In Ancient Egyptian Religion
Who is Geb?
As the God of the earth, Geb was one of the most important of ancient Egypt s
gods. According to the Heliopolis doctrine, he came from a line of important gods.
His parents were Shu, the god of air, and Tefnut, the goddess of moisture, who were
in turn the children of Atum. Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys were the children of
Geb and Nut, and together these gods made up the Heliopolitan Ennad. However, it
should be noted that Geb may also be referred to in various literature as Seb, Keb,
Kebb or Gebb. After Atum, the four deities (Shu, Tefnut, Geb, and Nut) established
the Cosmos, whereas the second set of deities (Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys)
mediated between humans and the cosmos.
Geb is usually represented in the form of a man who wears either the white crown
to which is added the Atef crown, or a goose. The Goose was his sacred animal and
symbol. As the God of earth, the earth formed his body and was called the house of

the hereditary, tribal chief of the gods, and he plays a very important part in the
Book of the Dead. Therefore he is one of the gods who watch the weighing of the
heart of the deceased in the Judgment Hall of Osiris. The righteous who were
provided with the necessary words of power were able to make their escape from the
earth but the wicked were held fast by Geb.
Religious texts show that there was no special city or district set apart for the god
Geb, but a portion of the temple estates in Apollinopolis Magna were called the Aat
of Geb, and a name of Dendera was the home of the children of Geb, . The chief
seat of the god appears to have been at Heliopolis, where he and his female
counterpart Nut produced the great Egg from which sprang the Sun god under the
form of a phoenix. In ancient Egypt, the egg is a symbol of renewal, and even today,
this symbolism appears in our traditions surrounding

31. Types Of Conflict Spiral And Avoidance Spiral
Since conflict is made up of individuals with their own perceptions it only makes
sense that there lie different paths that conflict can take. Some of the different paths
that are destructive in nature are the escalatory spiral (Hocker Wilmot 29) and
avoidance spiral (Hocker Wilmot 32). These spirals are made up of not only speech
but physical actions that mean to damage another or seek to lessen the relationship
between themselves. It is important to recognize what type of conflict spiralis
happening so you may view the situation clearly and see what the next step is to
possibly fixthis problem before it escalates past the point of repair. Recognizing that
you are in an escalatory spiral is simple because it is categorized as a state where
both parties involved take action to get even (qtd. in Hocker Wilmot 31) with the
other person(s) involved. An escalatory spiral is a destructive means people take
when there are [misunderstandings], discord and destruction (Wilmot 1987) (Hocker
Wilmot 30). The interaction between those in conflict during an escalatory spiral
becomes less about understanding and fixing the conflict and more about how to
emotionally harm the other person involved. In an escalatory spiral, there is only
one path for those that are engaging in it and that is upward and onward (Hocker
Wilmot 30). For those that find themselves in an escalatory spiral they may find it
difficult to get out of it because the original issue becomes buried

Later in the Conklin s interview he gives us Trask s definition of racism which is
where one ethnic or racial group dominates another to gain the culture and ethical
values. For example, how the United States of America dominated Hawaii.
Trask is able to use logos to prove how tourism has affected the Hawaiian culture.
Trask refers to Hawaii as a She who Rubs off on the visitor with her magical
presence. The beauty of Hawaii is used as an escape from Rawness and violence
for most Americans though, Trask mentions that the land has a Western sexual

tourism, the awful exploitative truth that the industry is the major cause of
environmental degradation, low wages, land dispossession, and the highest cost
of living in the United States (Trask 1993). Trask says that the areas of Hawaii
which were sacred to the Hawaiian s have now been turned into top of the line
hotels. The beaches that were once full of fishermen and their nets are used for
recreational activities like surfing getting a tan and jet skiing. On most of the
beaches owned by resorts, the beaches are reserved for hotel residences only. In the

impact on the stock markets, corporate management, and financial reporting. He
pointed that when people seeking for international capitals, varies of dissimilar
accounting principles create discrepancies in their financial reporting. If people
cannot understand the differences between IFRS and GAAP, they may have the

Pologeorgis (2012) also mentioned that international investors have to relearn the

As stated above, privacy rights are considered an essential part of one s everyday
life because everyone has their own definition of privacy, in other words, everyone
has to have their own form of privacy; Google defined privacy as the state or
condition of being free from being observed or disturbed by other people but to
some people privacy is what one does by themselves or what they do with another
person(s). According to the Patriot Act, the Government has the right to implement
all types of instruments that will further protect the country from terrorism by
imposing extreme actions that target certain rights, such as privacy. In today s
society, teenagers and all people around the world is constantly on their phone

the government should enact a law that gives some type of privacy right while the
right of privacy is a debatable subject, citizens should not fear their government

40. Descriptive Essay About Pigeon Forge
The most vivid memory I recall is of the first trip I ever made to my happy place,
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Nothing could ever compare to those 5 days of pure
happiness, without a single worry in the world. I truly believe this one little trip
shaped the way I want to live the rest of my life. The trip to our destination was long,
yet worth it. Me and my boyfriend (Tate) had long drive with many ups and downs.
About halfway there, stopped in a quaint little town on the outskirts of Tennessee,
both of our iPhone maps stopped working. It was perfectly okay though, because it
was basically a straight shot to our destination. This long journey was full of
excitement and anticipation to get there. As we made it... Show more content on

The vibe of the whole place was like the country, yet we were in the city. Although
Dollywood was exhilarating; Gatlinburg was a close second. Gatlinburg is really
where the city yet country atmosphere comes into play. We started our journey
passing through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and let me just tell you, it
was astonishing. This really exhibits the beauty of the smoky mountains. The
rocky rivers, unrelenting waterfalls, and glistening greenery really embodied the
allure of The Great Smoky Mountains. Unfortunately at this point we just drove
through because we were on our way to Gatlinburg, but we came back. Our first
destination in Gatlinburg was the aquarium, because we are both fish lovers! We
spent hours here, then went on our way elsewhere. Just walking down the streets
of Gatlinburg could have kept us entertained for hours. Of course the kid in the
both of us guided us to our next destination, the arcade! This was without a doubt
my boyfriend s favorite part, we spent roughly the rest of the afternoon in here, but
we didn t leave our cabin until about 11. There was this crazy clown game where
you knock down clowns by throwing balls, and it was extremely addictive.
Surprisingly we weren t the only older people in there. After this we spent the rest of
the afternoon shopping and engaging with the friendly people. Finally we were
exhausted, and returned to our cabin. Our last night was
41. Asymmetric Synthesis Of 13 Diols And Chiral Sulfoxides
Chapter 1 Review on Asymmetric Synthesis of 1,3 Diols and Chiral Sulfoxides
1.1.Importance and applications of chiral 1,3 diols Optically active 1,3 diols are
very important compounds in asymmetric synthesis, since they represent chiral
building blocks for many polyketide derived natural products, and have frequently
been used as valuable intermediates in the synthesis of drugs and natural products
with important biological activity. Such diols have shown promise as chiral
derivatising agents and less frequently as chiral ligands. 1.1.1.As chiral ligands
Unlike 1,2 and 1,4 diols, 1,3 diols are less frequently encountered as chiral ligand.
A few C2 symmetric chiral 1,3 diols are known in the literature, none have proved
to be very good sources of chirality. It is important that the diol is conformationally
rigid for it to be an effective chiral auxiliary / ligand. Chiral 1,3 diols 20 21 were
obtained from the yeast reduction products of 2 oxocyclopentane and 2
oxocyclohexane carboxylates and excess MeLi, BuLi or PhLi. These ligands form
titanium complexes 22 with TiCl(i Pr0)3 which are effective catalysts for
enantioselective nucleophilic addition of MeMgCl to benzaldehyde and 1
naphthaldehyde yielding 1 phenyl ethanol and 1 naphthyl ethanol respectively in
good enantioselectivities. Recently Matsuo and coworkers have reported effective
use of a chiral 1,3 diol ligand for brГёnsted acid catalyzed asymmetric reduction of
ketones and acyl silanes. 1.1.2.As chiral

A single under cabinet light in the kitchen provided all of the light in this part of
the house. It was a small but orderly place the area around the front door was lower
and still slightly damp from when she had come in. It entered directly into a
modest carpeted living area, with carpet and couches on the right, and a kind of
lounge on the left, separated from the kitchen further back by a counter. A path in
the middle lead further towards a narrow hallway, with doors on the left and right,
the latter of which was to the room she had used. There was nothing on the walls
besides heavy blue curtains which hung almost floor to ceiling. The chair she
currently occupied was soft, clearly not new but clean and in good repair.

It was regular consistent, like a sphere. Soft all the way through. She shuffled further
back into the chair and concentrated. It was consistent on the outside, but inside it
was something else, some kind of element or maze of elements. It was inaccessible,
visible only through faint densities rolling outward from the center, there was some
kind of insulation around it. Inside, it was complex, the heat was moving through the
elements in strange paths. It was not arbitrary, there was a pattern or patterns quick,
rapid, then pulsed, then broken up, representations of something else. Inside, the
further in she went, the hotter it was, much too hot, it seemed to twist. She tugged at
the heat, but it remained stubborn; the boundaries of its pattern made more clear by
her attempts to influence it. It held at fixtures, remained constant within tolerances.
She tugged again, suppressing one of the strange elements, and the heat reacted,
redirected but the redirection was physical, mechanical, it was a physical
readjustment, not mechanical one. She drew back, and the element returned to its
prior state.
The heat did not flow down, the floor beneath the source was almost as cool as the

43. Thomas Jefferson Risk Management Plan
There are a few hurdles at Rockford Jefferson that hinder the development of a risk
management plan. First, there does not seem to be time. This was also the answer
many athletic directors in Minnesota gave when asked why they didn t implement
a plan at their schools (Bezdicek, 2009, p. 39). From my perspective as a coach
who taught at another building, I had little time before practice to meet with the
athletic director. The athletic director also had many responsibilities. The enrollment
at Rockford Jefferson is around 1,600. The athletic director was also an assistant
principal and dealt with many of the discipline issues. The district also took away
his secretary my second year there. He legitimately did not have time to add to or
modify his risk management plan.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Asking for a written document would have been wise. Honestly, this was
something I failed in as a young head coach. I was so overwhelmed with
responsibilities of teaching and coaching that the legal ramifications of actions or
the lack of actions was far from my mind. I followed Ratinoff s (2014) advice and
put the athlete s best interests first when making decisions but looking back I never
really knew the risk management plan. I was basically doing what I felt was best for
the student athletes.
As the athletic director in the situation it would be imperative that he seeks the advice
and counsel of the school s legal team and even outside lawyers that specialize in
sports law (Hoffman, 2013). It would also be wise for the athletic director to attend
professional development in order to stay on top of the ever changing laws and
standards of best practice (Bezdicek, 2009, p. 16). It is also wise to seek the help
from other athletic directors and learn from

The official website of the Association of Moving Image Archivists features a
statement made by the Committee for Film Preservation and Public Access before
the National Film Preservation Board in 1993. Preservation without access is
pointless, the quote says. Film is one area where preservation requires presentation
after the fact. The mention of certain films being given a new restoration or a new
print scan excites cinema lovers and researchers alike, due to the fact that filmhas not
been as meticulously preserved in the past as it is now. Rapidly evolving techniques
in how filmmakers shoot films is changing. David Lynch, the director of Blue Velvet

With streaming services on the rise, this creates a further gap in the types of films
that are being preserved and presented to audience. What about films that never
made it to DVD, let alone Blu ray and streaming? Historically, there has been a
push in the United States to archive and preserve classic cinema and films backed
by major Hollywood studies. A glance at the National Film Registry titles from
1989 to 2013 shows favor to mostly mainstream films. A few examples of
mainstream films added to the registry include The Matrix (inducted in 2012), Toy
Story (inducted in 2005), and Beauty and the Beast (inducted in 2002). There are a
few example of films on the list not in the mainstream as well notably Julie Dash s
Daughters of the Dust (inducted in 2004) and Charles Burnett s Killer of Sheep
(inducted in 1990). Both of these films would perhaps be known to people outside
the mainstream, but the registry s film list reads more like a typical greatest films
of all time list. The list, available at http://www.loc.gov/film/registry_titles.php, is
comprised of titles that were inducted by the Library of Congress and the National
Film Preservation Board between the years of 1989 and 2013. According to the
registry s site, the board members select up to 25 culturally, historically or
aesthetically significant films each year . In

46. The Pros And Cons Of The Whaling Ban
Despite the whaling ban in 1986 by the International Whaling Commission, some
countries are refusing to stop doing this practice especially Japan. After the 1986 ban,
Japan launched their supposed scientific whaling program which is widely known as
their cover for their commercial whaling practice. Supporters of the whalingban claim
that reversing the ban will cause whale populations to become endangered or even
extinct. Also, supporters of the IWC whaling ban say that the IWC should maintain
the ban and establish stricter rules regarding the ban. Proponents also claim that the
whale populations have yet to return to its former population before the excessive
hunting happened. Anti whaling groups such as Greenpeace point to species such as
the West Pacific gray whale, of which, according to some estimates, there are only
about 100 left. According to Palumbi and Roman s whale population study, the North
Atlantic humpback whalepopulation before commercial whaling was more than 20
times what it is now.( ) Even with IWC whaling ban Japan, Iceland, and Norway
continue to hunt illegally.
Additionally, supporters of ban suggest that it is completely idiotic to risk lifting the
ban for countries who claim that whaling is a part of their culture. And that banning
whaling, a practice that whale hunters were doing for centuries is cultural
imperialism and is totally unacceptable. In response to the accusations of cultural
imperialism, advocates of the whaling ban countered the
47. Privacy Violations At The Open Lake Park Police
Department
Everyone is entitled to privacy, especially when it comes to law enforcement. To
make the public, and the officers protecting them, feel protected the implementation
of body worn cameras in the police force is occurring. Sometimes, this equipment
malfunctions and ends up doing more harm than the good it promised. When this
occurs, a reevaluation of how the cameras are being used should happen to make sure
improvements occur. As shown by the recent privacy violations to the Round Lake
PoliceDepartment regarding body worn cameras, officers need to become more
familiar with the technology they are using and stricter policies about their usage are
necessary.
Recently, issues concerning officer privacy have arisen due to the misuse of... Show

Immediately after discovering the recordings, Izzo informed his commander of the
problem which caused a department wide suspension of body camera use. These
recordings violate the department s policy to not record during private times of the
officers (McCoppin). One officer on the force claims to have seen Burch remove the
video in question. This disregards the state law put into place that requires the
recordings to be saved no less than ninety days. Consequently, out of the thirteen
officers within the department, ten are suing over the unauthorized video recordings
and requesting more than $100,000 each in damages due to the violation of their
privacy. Initial training for camera use involves the supplier, WatchGuard, to show
administrators, such as Burch, how to use a feature that deactivates continuous
filming with the cameras. Administrators are then in charge of showing officers how
this works. If this feature is not disabled, the camera will not stop filming
(McCoppin). All these issues together have caused conflict with the Round Lake Park
Police Department and raised questions concerning the use of body worn cameras.
Concerning legal problems, body camera issues over their use and policies are still
unclear. Incidents of police brutality, like those that occurred in Ferguson, MO, have
increased the demand for body worn cameras in
48. Role Of Madness In Macbeth
And nothing is but what is not (1.3.155). What matters to Macbeth is what does not
exist, and those that exist do not matter: Macbeth says these words while thinking of
murder. Macbeth begins his descent into madness through the act to follow. However
innocent he thinks he is, he is but the serpent underneath it. Shakespeare creates his
character Macbethin a such a way that he starts off sane, and through certain actions
that Shakespeare characterizes as evil, he falls. In the play Macbeth, Macbeth s mind
slips far further than he had wagered and soon he is the epitome of madness.
Shakespeare uses other characters as well to delineate Macbeth s mind state as the
play unfolds. Such parallels are meant to emphasize and strengthen the... Show more

As Macbeth moves throughout the play, he makes decisions based on greed and
insecurity. These decisions are influenced by his diseased mind which is crippled
by his paradoxical thoughts. While planning to kill Banquo, he shares that full of
scorpions is my mind, dear wife! Thou know st that Banquo, and his Fleance, lives
/ But in them nature s copy s not eterne. / There s comfort yet; they are assailable
(3.2.41 44). Macbeth knows that his mind is diseased and while knowing that
Banquo and his son is alive, his mind tricks him into thinking they are dangerous.
Shakespeare compares Macbeth s mind to be full of scorpions . Scorpions attack
by using their tails and stabbing poison into someone. The scorpion attacking him
is his own greed and the poison is from what the greed leads to. His greed, filling
his mind more and more with bad thoughts, until finally he is poisoned with the
thoughts of killing to get what he wants. The idea that Macbeth s head is full of
scorpions suggests that over time his thoughts are getting a little more poisoned
over and over again until finally he dies. His state of mind now inhabited by
scorpions leads him to making paradoxical decisions. Macbeth feels comfort in
knowing that nature s copy is eterne for him but he also feels threatened by his
successor being Fleance. Lady Macbeth tries to comfort him by telling him he has
eternal life and his assailants do not. He agrees with his wife s comfort but he is
still not sure. His thoughts are paradoxical because he thinks he has eternal life and
yet he feels in danger of Banquo and

Essay One Brian Munoz Philosophy 10/23/15 What Are We What are we? In this
essay, I ll be comparing and contrasting the four views of human nature that we
have studied so far Confucianism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Platonism critically
examining their similarities and differences. Also, I ll be explaining which one I
think provides the most plausible understanding of what we are. First, I will
introduce each of the four views of human nature by defining them. Then, I will
elaborate and thoroughly explain what each one claims that we are. Confucianism
is a system of philosophical and ethical sociopolitical teachings sometimes
described as a religion. Confucianism developed during the Spring and Autumn
Period from the teachings of the Chinese philosopher Confucius (551 479 BCE),
who considered himself a retransmitter of Zhou values. As Jeffrey Richey stated in
his overview, The purpose of existence is to reach one s highest potential as a human
being (Richey 1). Through a rigorous process of self cultivation that lasts a lifetime,
one may eventually become a perfected person. The relentless quest for virtue begins
with the most basic human activities, such as mindful direction of one s sight,
hearing, speech, and action. Hinduism is the dominant religion, or way of life, in
South Asia, most notably in India and Nepal. Although Hinduism contains a broad
range of philosophies, it is a family of linked religious cultures bound by shared

51. Time As A Dominant Mode
Time emerges as a dominant mode in man s experience of modernity. Modernity has
shattered the sense of continuity and fixedness on which man s identity was built.
Many modern dramatists, who attempt to articulate man s Being in the world and his
experience in the modern world, explore different representations of the concept of
time, because time is capable of endowing human experience with a feeling of
continuity and discontinuity. Since modernity has ripped man out of a sense of time
consistent with his organic relationship to the world, experimenting with time could
be used to concretize the drama of modernity. For instance, many modern British and
Egyptian playwrights share a sense of dislocation and an identity crisis, which
manifests itself in the particular temporal patterns of their dramas. New temporal
modes, subjective and objective, have been developed in modern dramatic
representations, and many of them testify to the influence of philosophies of time,
both ancient and contemporary. In modern society, Time is generally perceived to
exist in our consciousness. When dealing with time, we are usually referring to our
consciousness of time; and we are conscious of time in many ways: appointments,
clocks, days, etc... This is known as objective time, but time can also be conceived as
a subjective experience, otherwise known as psychological or absolute time. An
important subcategory of time consciousness is time perception. Many philosophies
have thought
