My shared goal is focused on the importance of education. Many communities and countries lack education due to poverty. I think that everyone deserves the chance to a great education regardless of the many barriers they have.
2. Why does it resonate for you?
This goal resonated with me because I grew up in a household where
education was viewed as a privilege. My family immigrated from a country
where the educational system did not provide adequate learning. For many
families education was something that wasn’t required as a child, especially,
in underdeveloped countries; these children were expected to help provide
for their families. Therefore, education needs be available for anyone
seeking a better future as well as teachers that are willing to provide that
care and learning environment for those students.
“Around 250 million children are not learning basic skills, even though half of them have
spent at least four years in school. The annual cost of this failure: around 129 billion,” it
says, noting that in around a third of countries, less than 75 percent of primary school
teachers are trained according to national standards. Some 57 million children are not in
school at all” (UN News).
