2. WHY DOES IT RESONATEWITH ME?
■ Personally, I find it important to be able to
contribute as much as we can to improve
maternal health.
■ There are many aspects of pregnancy,
including prior and post birth, that we have
yet to understand. Being able to constantly
educate the community and raise society’s
awareness on a matter that will improve the
quality of life of many mothers.
■ Eliminating people’s ignorance on the matter
of maternal health would also possibly save a
life and allow future parents to feel more
comfortable in knowing the health of both
themselves and their children.
3. HOW CAN MY INTEREST BE APPLIED
LOCALLY?
■ We all know many organizations that are planted
around our city that help mothers with screenings
and educating them on what is to come.
■ One place would be Planned Parenthood where
they have many places around each city. They
have created a safe place to ask questions, receive
information, allow reassurance, given references
to maternal specialists, etc.
■ Planned Parenthood provides numerous
resources for the community, especially future
parents, to turn to. But with the constant uproar
of ‘anti-abortion’ groups, they have been
struggling to be able to maintain a safe space for
those people who need them.
■ They are big in educating the people about sex
and future parenthood and are really open to
giving you extremely helpful resources during
stressful times.

?
Educating. It’s one of the most important
things to do and something I am able to do.
Educating the people who don’t know much
about maternal health can help them have
more compassion for those who are going
through pregnancy.
The more people that know about maternal
health the better. There is no such thing as
being over educated. Allowing people to learn
and understand the importance of improving
maternal health will benefit everyone and
improve the quality of life of future parents.
5. HOW SOCIAL MEDIA CAN BEAPPLIED
TOTHIS GOAL
■ Posting, sharing links, creating easy access for
users to learn. There is only so much social media
can do when trying to reach a goal, and it all
comes down to spreading the word.
■ Social media is a hob for fast sharing and
notifying people all around the world from your
fingertips. The media’s ability to give users
relevant content can also boost a goal if it is
relevant to them.
■ It’s like a tree. There’s the goal as the trunk of the
tree, the branches going from there are the
people who interact with your goal via relevancy,
then the smaller branches would be their mutuals
seeing that they shared your goal, and also
interacting with it.
