This is to make Google calendar visible to students and to edit notifications so you get emails when student makes an appointment. You also will learn how to set the free/busy times on the Calendar that the student can view.

1. Set up Google Calendar for
Gurus

2. Step 1: Make Google Calendar visible to students

3. Go to:
www.calendar.google.com

4. Go to Settings

5. Click on “Share this calendar” in
Calendar Tab

6. Check “Make Calendar public”
and “Only Share free/busy
information”. Save

7. Step 2: Make sure that you receive Google
Calendar notifications

8. Click “Edit Notifications” to
receive emails when student
books you.

9. Check New Events, Changed
Events, Canceled Events and Event
Responses. Click Save.

10. Step 3: Set busy times on Google Calendar

11. Now go back to Calendar to set
busy times.

12. Double click where you want to set
“Busy times”. These are times you do
not want students to book.

13. Make sure it’s done for daily events like
sleep etc. since meetings happen across
time zones.
Remove notifications if you do not want
emails for each busy event.

14. Daily events can be set as shown
above.

15. Save to set the time.

16. The blue times shown above are shown
as busy to the students.
If the students picks a time that you are
not comfortable with, suggest a
different time.
