The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) was established in 1983 as a collaboration between the Gujarat government and national financial institutions like SBI and IDBI Bank. EDII is committed to entrepreneurship education, training, and research with the mandate to increase the supply of competent entrepreneurs, improve competitiveness of small and medium enterprises, promote social entrepreneurship and inter-firm cooperation, and contribute to entrepreneurship research and policy advocacy. EDII focuses on areas like entrepreneurship education, micro-enterprise development, improving performance of existing entrepreneurs, cluster development, social and women entrepreneurship, and research.
