The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) was established in 1983 as an autonomous nonprofit organization sponsored by major banks to promote entrepreneurship. EDII operates 12 state-level entrepreneurship centers and institutes and offers educational programs like a 2-year post-graduate diploma for first-generation entrepreneurs and those in agribusiness or family business. EDII's vision is to become an international leader in facilitating entrepreneurship, while its mission focuses on increasing entrepreneurship, enterprise creation, employment, and competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in India.
