Small and medium Enterprises (SMEs) play an important role in the modern economy; the research aims to identify the role of small and medium enterprises in the economic development in the Arab Republic of Egypt and identify the most important problems and obstacles facing these projects , The results show that, Egypt has 2.5 million small, medium and micro enterprises, representing 99% of the total non-agricultural projects, about 78% of these projects did not receive any banking facilities, The performance SMEs is very weak in terms of export to foreign markets. SMEs can contribute in the process of accelerating development because it does not require huge investments at the same time, and is able to increase employment and mobilize small individual savings, as well as help in the preparation of technical cadres. It also enables the development of exports, including the acquisition of foreign currency and thus improving the balance of payments of developing countries, in addition to their contribution to the formation of a balanced industrial sector that serves the national economy, However Small and medium enterprises in Egypt face many problems that limit the ability to develop them. This sector is still suffering from basic obstacles such as difficulty obtaining finance and guarantees, and many other difficulties related to the inappropriate business environment, laws and regulations, poor infrastructure and banking so that Egyptian government must put a clear approach and specific objectives for the development of these projects.

The Roles of Government And Banks in Entrepreneurship Financing in Nigeriascmsnoida5
The industrialization policy of most developed
and developing nations in the past laid emphasis
on economy of scale which is a concept that
emphasizescost effectiveness through large scale
production. This idea which holds the view that
large scale corporations were the pillar stone of
the modern economy prevailed for greater part
of the 20th century. In recent times, however,
this idea has changed and the importance of
small and medium scale enterprises- SMEs as
the bedrock of industrial development is gaining
prominence. Entrepreneurship development is a
concept concerned with the formation, financing,
growth and expansion of business enterprises
most especially small and medium scale in
an economy with the objective of achieving
economic growth and development.In Nigeria,
since independence, and since when the idea of
entrepreneurship development was introduced in
the 1970s and 1980s, various programmes and
policies were created by successive governments over the years for the development and financing
of enterprises to improve the economy. Also,
financial institutions, most especially the banks
have important roles to play in the development
and financing of entrepreneurship in the country.
Financing is one of the necessary prerequisites for
SMEs development; lack of finance represents a
major obstacle to their growth and development.
This write up will be an attempt to look into
the roles of both government and banks in
entrepreneurship development and financing in
achieving economic growth and development
in Nigeria. Relevant literature was reviewed
in the formulation of this write up. The main
source of informationused is secondary method
of data collection. The paper revealed that most
of the various programmes, policies and schemes
created by the government for the development
and financing of entrepreneurship were either
now moribund or have failed to meet up with
the purpose for which they were established. The
paper concludes that entrepreneurship is the need
of the day, therefore, authorities and the banks
should actively involve themselves in this task.

Difficulties Small Business Face Due to Marekt Conditionsijtsrd
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector has emerged as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy over the last five decades. MSMEs not only play crucial role in providing large employment opportunities at comparatively lower capital cost than large industries but also help in industrialization of rural & backward areas, thereby, reducing regional imbalances, assuring more equitable distribution of national income and wealth. MSMEs are complementary to large industries as ancillary units and this sector contributes enormously to the socio-economic development of the country. The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

1. Small and Medium Enterprises (SME)
• For a country to grow, the government should actively
promote business enterprises. Among business enterprises,
the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) deserve special
attention. Though SMEs are small investment enterprises,
their contribution to the Indian economy is very significant.
2. What are MSMEs?
• Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act,
2006 which was notified on October 2, 2006, deals with the definition
of MSMEs. The MSMED Act, 2006 defines the Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises based on
• the investment in plant and machinery for those engaged in
manufacturing or production, processing or preservation
of goods and
• the investment in equipment for enterprises engaged in providing
or rendering of services.
3. What are SMEs?

Medium More than Rs.500.00 lakhs but
does not exceed Rs.1000.00 lakhs
More than Rs.200.00 lakhs but
does not exceed Rs.500.00 lakhs
4. CHARACTERISTICS OF MSMEs
• The important characteristics of MSMEs are summarized as follows:
• They are generally organized and run by individual entrepreneurs.
• They require less capital.
• They are fundamentally labour-intensive units facilitating greater utilization of man power.
• They involve the use of simple technology, intensive utilization of individual skill leading to
professional specialization.
• They cater the individual tastes and fashions and render personalized service to consumers.
5. • They are highly localized industries. Using local resources MSMEs are decentralized and
dispersed to rural areas.
• They are eligible for govt. assistance and patronage and for concessional finance by banks,
financial institutions etc.
• They are flexible to a large extent. They are more susceptible to change and highly reactive
and receptive to socio-economic conditions.
• They are free from red-tapism and bureaucratic handicaps.
• Compared to large units, a MSME has a lesser gestation period. ie, the period after which the
on investment starts.
6. OBJECTIVES OF MSMEs
The primary objectives of MSME are to play a complementary role in the
socio-economic set up of a country. The other objectives are as follows:
• To provide increased employment opportunities.
• To provide production of large variety of goods especially consumer
goods through labour intensive methods.
• To bring backward areas too in the mainstream of national
development.
• To improve the level of living of people in the country.
• To create a climate for the development of self-employed experts,
professionals and small entrepreneurs.
• To ensure more equitable distribution of national income.
• To ensure balanced regional development as regards industries.
• To encourage the adoption of modern techniques in the unorganised
traditional sector or the industry.
7. ADVANTAGE OF MSMEs
• They are relatively more environmental friendly.
• They are generally based on local resources.
• They provide ample opportunities for creativity and experimentation.
• They facilitate equitable distribution of income and wealth.
• MSME enjoys the government support and patronage.
• These helps in the balanced regional development.
• It is possible to make necessary changes as and when required.
8. • These help in reducing prices.
• There is a close and direct personal contact with the customer and
employees.
• They create more employment opportunities. They are labour
intensive. They offer ample scope for self employment.
• They require only less capital. It is a boon to a country like India
where capital is deficient.
• MSME alone can satisfy individual tastes and offer personalized
service to the customers.
9. DISADVANTAGES OF MSMEs
• MSMEs suffer from lack of funds. They are financially weak.
• They suffer from lack of managerial and other skills. They cannot employ
highly paid officials.
• MSMEs always face tough competition from large businesses.
• They are not well equipped to make advantage of the latest technology and
modern methods.
• There is only a little scope for division of labour and specialization.
• MSMEs cannot afford to spend large sums of money on research and
experiments
• They cannot survive in times of adversity.
• They cannot secure cheap credit.
