Sequence the following events that led to our understanding of DNA in chronological order.
The human genome was sequenced. X-ray diffraction revealed the 3D shape of DNA. A
harmless bacterial strain found to cause disease after receiving DNA (not protein) from another
bacterial strain. A model of DNA was created showing how its subunits form is double-helical
shape. Viruses labeled with radioactive phosphorous injected their DNA into bacteria.
Solution
A harmless bacterial strain found to causedisease after recieving DNA (not protien) from another
bacterial strain -...................... experiment by Avery, McCarty, and MacLeod: Identifying the
transforming principle (1944)
Viruses labelled with radioactive phosphorus injected their DNA into bacteria..........(Hershey-
Chase experiments 1952)
A model of DNA was created showing how its subunits form its double helical shape ..........
(Watson & Francis crick, 7 march, 1953)
X-ray diffraction revealed the 3D shape of DNA.......(Rosalind Franklin April 1953, acta
crystallographica)
Human genome was sequenced ......(April 2003)
