SIMPLE SUBJECT
• Is the main word in the
complete subject. It is always a
noun or pronoun
• Sometimes the simple subject is
also the complete subject

COMPOUND SUBJECT
• A subject with two or more
simple subjects.
• The subjects are joined by
words like “and”, “or”, “nor” or
pairs like “either/or” and
“neither/nor”
