Hailey Escher proposes to create a senior yearbook and photography portfolio for her senior project. She plans to take photos throughout the year at senior events and activities. She will then edit the photos and create a slideshow yearbook to share photos from the year. Additionally, she will select favorite photos to print and compile in a portfolio. She connects this project to a career in natural light photography and plans to charge for photos to help fund materials. Her facilitators will be her school photographer, Mr. Martin, and a local professional photographer, Mrs. Becci Bonno, who can provide expertise in her field.

projects will be submitted to a committee for final approval. This form must be completed and
returned to your senior English teacher by Friday, August 17, 2012. You will not be allowed to
change your topic after October 12, 2012.
The Senior Project is subject to the plagiarism policies set forth by the district and Creekview High
School.
1) Describe the overall topic of your Senior Project.
The topic of my Senior Project involves the art of photography.
2) What is your previous experience in this area of study?
I received a digital SLAR camera for Christmas three years ago. I take pictures of friends and family,
mainly for their Facebook pages.
3) To what career will you connect this project (required)?
I will connect my project to Professional Natural Light Photography and personal business
4) Describe what you are proposing to do for your Product step-by-step and in detail. Write on the
back of this sheet if necessary. For my product I will make a “Seniors Only” Yearbook in the form of a
slide show at the end of the year (before March 1), as well as a hard copy portfolio of the „extra‟
photos that I‟ll be taking over the year. First, of course, I will have to take the photos. I plan to attend
all Senior Nights of all sports, go to Creekview activities, and take some Senior portraits. Second, I
will edit the photos using the same program Mr. Martin and Mrs. BecciBonno use. Third, I will create
a slideshow using chronological events starting at the beginning of the year with coordinating music
in the background. I will also pick my favorite photos of all that I take over the year, print them out,
and put them into a hard copy portfolio.
5) How is this projecta “learning stretch” and a challenge for you?
I do have a natural talent in photography, but the challenge for me will be when taking my camera
places, actually using it. The next challenge I‟ll face is perfecting the editing process to create photos
that bring back priceless memories.
6) What are your estimated costs for completing the Product, and how will you fund these costs?
The cost for my portfolio could range from twelve to fifty dollars. Flyers will be around $30 and
business cards will be around $45. The software that Mr. Martin uses for slideshows is free. I plan to
charge a minimal $25 an hour for those who want pictures done to go towards the making of this
portfolio and extra prints.
7) Who have you chosen (or are considering choosing) as your Project Facilitator?

2. Mr. Martin, our school photographer, and Mrs. BecciBonno will be my Project Facilitators.
8) What is this person‟s expertise in this field?
Mr. Martin will be my main project facilitator. He shows his dedication to photography through
taking the school‟s sports photos and running the club at Creekview called the Photography Club.
Mrs. Rebecca Bonno may or may not be my secondary project facilitator. She has a business of her
own called Becci Photography. She specializes in Natural Light Photography raning from animals to
newborns to families and seniors.
