This document is a senior project proposal form for a student exploring event planning. The student proposes to create a budget book for weddings by meeting with their facilitator Natalie Durham, an experienced event planner, and including photos and pricing information for venues, flowers, cakes, and other wedding elements. The student believes this project will help develop their organizational, time management, and people skills. They estimate the project will cost around $30, which they will pay themselves.

1) Describe the overall topic of your Senior Project.
During my senior project I will be exploring the stages in planning events like weddings.
2) What is your previous experience in this area of study?
I have no previous experience in this area of study.
3) To what career will you connect this project (required)?
I will be connecting this project to the career of Event Planning.
4) Describe what you are proposing to do for your Product step-by-step and in detail. Write on the
back of this sheet if necessary.
For my project I have decided to create a budget book for a bride and groom to look at when
consulting with Natalie Durham about their wedding day. This book will be divided up into sections
such as floral, cakes, and venues etc. and then broken up into prices. First, I will have to buy a
scrapbook or binder of some kind to keep all the pages in. I will then have to go to meetings and
appointments with my facilitator and learn about the different budgets. I will then take pictures of the
actual things the company can create to put into the book. Finally when the product is created, I will
leave it with Natalie to use for future clients.
5) How is this project a “learning stretch” and a challenge for you?
Along with gaining organizational skills and time management, I will acquire new people skills and
how to put together a large event in a time frame.
6) What are your estimated costs for completing the Product, and how will you fund these costs?
My estimated cost will probably be around thirty dollars all items included. This cost should cover
the book, the photos and whatever design elements desired to go in the book. I will be getting these
finds out of pocket.
7) Who have you chosen (or are considering choosing) as your Project Facilitator?
I have chosen to work with Natalie Durham.
8) What is this person’s expertise in this field?
