IT Desktop Support
Hardware
 Preparing computers in servers for imaging windows
 Install or swap: Modem, network card, memory, printer, scanner, webcam, wireless
keyboard, mouse, external and internal hard drive, optical drive, CPU, power supply,
USB drives, eSATA hard drives
 Configure bios on computers for working in a corporate environment.
 Set up and preparing windows workstations
 Organize materials in stock rooms and work rooms
 Mounting monitors on monitor arms and configuring for users preference
 Imaging computers systems by pixie booting
Software
 Installing and configuring software such as SnagIt, ASEBA, TreeAge, WinZip etc.
 Microsoft Office 2007, and 2010 (Word, Excel, Access,Publisher, and PowerPoint)
 Adobe Acrobat,Adobe Photoshop
 Installing other 3rd
party apps
Network
 Run cables, troubleshoot connections, identify and activate external ports (USB, serial, parallel,
VGA,
 Worked with network team to get configure ports for patching equipment
 Connect hardware (hubs, switches, cat5e cable)
 TCP/IP concepts (DNS,firewalls, Private vs. Public IP,different classes)
 TCP/IP settings (IP address,subnet mask, default gateway,DNS servers)
 TCP/IP tools (ipconfig, ping, tracert)
Printers
 Setting up and configuring printer
 Build print queues on server for new printers being deployed
 Remote into printers to configure and setup
 Import and export data (Address Book)
 Troubleshoot hardware problems on printer (Toner replacement, Paper Jams,etc.)
 Manually adding users email addresses to printers to allow users to sends scans directly to email
Others
 Keep track of inventory, receiving and management for both software and hardware
 Use of ticketing management system (Trackit, IS Help ServiceNow, SharePoint)
 User Education
