LIGHT, HEAT,
AND SOUND
Science 4
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the student can:
● Describe how light, heat and sound travel.
● Demonstrate how light, heat and sound travel
using various objects
ENERGY
LIGHT, HEAT, &
SOUND
Question
Time!!
Try this!
Try rubbing your
hands
Try clapping
your hands
What happen if
I turn on the
switch?
Activity Time!!
Let’s Explore!
Group yourselves into 2 or 3.
You are going to explore outside and
inside classroom as a group. Find an
object that generates light, heat and
sound. You are given 15 minutes to
explore and after that, you will
present it in class
What are the objects you
find that generates light,
heat and sound? Why?
Film Viewing!
Question Time!!
1. What are light, sound, and heat?
2. What are the sources of light, sound, and heat?
3. How do light, sound, and heat travel based on
the video you have watched?
4. What are the uses of light, sound, and heat?
5. Why is heat, light and sound important to us?
6. How energy transferred by sound light and
heat?
7. What is the relationship between light and
heat?
- Light energy is a form of electromagnetic
radiation. Light consists of photons, which are
produced when an object's atoms heat up. Light
travels in waves and is the only form of energy
visible to the human eye.
What is Light Energy?
- Heat is the form of energy that is transferred between
systems or objects with different temperatures (flowing from
the high-temperature system to the low-temperature
system). Also referred to as heat energy or thermal energy.
What is Heat Energy?
- Sound energy comes from vibrations moving through
something. Solids, liquids, and gases all transmit sound
as energy waves. Sound energy is the result when a
force, either sound or pressure, makes an object or
substance vibrate. That energy moves through the
substance in waves.
What is Sound Energy?
____1. Light is a form of energy that can be seen by the eye.
____2. Sound is a form of energy that can be heard.
____3. Some sources of light does not release heat, like the
sun.
____4. When matter vibrates sound is produced.
____5. Fire generates both heat and light.
True or False
“Now that you know about Light, Heat and Sound, in
one paragraph essay, how can you minimize the
pollution produced by the creation of this three
energy?”
