2. FINAL PIECE
This is the school magazine that I made. I have included
some of the things that I said in the planning process such
as the pictures I want to use, I said I wanted to use pictures
relevant to school and I believe I did. I believe I sort of
stuck to the layout I wanted to use which was a picture and
text around it either way I’m happy with the final product.
I didn’t use all the features I wanted to use as I thought I
could make it better and I think that is what I did.
3. How have you used conventions in your
product? How is it similar or different to
real products?
My product is similar to real life products as I have used the conventions of
a real life magazines (such as; masthead skyline buttons and a hook) I also
made it look eye catching as I know that front covers are the 1st thing
people see so making that stand out from other magazines is very
important.
All these features that I have included in my magazine are used by real
publications and I think it would be able to sell.
4. How have you represented your
chosen social group?
The way I have represented my chosen social group is that I used pictures
and information relevant to them e.g. GCSE every teenager does it.
5. How would the school distribute the
magazine and why?
The school would distribute it every year as its relevant to GCSES which
people complete in the summer term and don’t find out a few weeks
before school. It would be distributed at the start of every school year. It
would distribute it because it would tell new student and returning
students about the GCSE and how people found it and it could be relatable
so people would want it.
6. Who would be the audience of the media
product? How have you specifically
targeted them?
My media product will be aimed at 16-17 year olds that just completed
their GCSES. This is because they could find it relatable and therefore be a
success. I have specifically targeted them by making the front cover eye
catching and making sure they know what the magazine is about (GCSE’s) I
have used pictures of people aswell to target them.
7. What have you learnt through the task
I have learnt many key Photoshop skills throughout this task such as
Adding photos
Understanding and using layers effectively
Blending
Changing shapes
Changing colour
Adding text also changing size and colour
These skills have been very helpful as this will help me in the future when
I'm asked to make a magazine again and these skills could help me create
an even better magazine then this one
