Money Can Buy Happiness. .Most Of Us Are Familiar With
Money Can Buy Happiness Most of us are familiar with the old adage, Money can t buy happiness,
but few question the validity of the statement and its meaning. The debate: Can money buy you
happiness? is a spirited debate that has been argued since currency came about. There are those that
side with the popular saying and argue that money has no relation to an individual s happiness. Those
in support of the expression, money can t buy happiness, state the claim that true happiness stems
from internal feelings of self worth, where meaning in life is naturally created by doing good, acting
justly, and abiding by purity. Those that dispute the saying and believe the opposite have found a
shared commonality in several contributing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If it were true, that there is no link between money and happiness, why have economists studied this
connection for many years? In fact, in just the past 30 years, studies have shown there is indeed a
significant association between money and happiness. Over the course of these studies, it has been
determined that people in rich countries are far happier than people in poor countries (Maich 1). The
relationship between wealth and happiness has even been described to be, more complicated than the
romantic entanglements of any Desperate Housewife (Futrelle 1). It is true that the connection
between happiness and money is intricate, however, the link is measurable. Based on a study done by
the University of Michigan, it was found that, a higher income leads to a greater sense of well being,
which in turn, contributes to an individual s happiness greatly (Kurtzleben 1). While the opposition
argues there is no apparent link between wealth and happiness, it is clear to see that there is a very real
connection between the two. Additionally, wealth and happiness now appear to be far more dependent
on one another than we may have previously come to terms with.
It is ironic that the opposition, who argue there is no real relationship between wealth and happiness
are the very people arguing that, if there is any link between the two, money only contributes to
temporary happiness. Both of these arguments can be rebutted swiftly. It has already been

Comparing Voltaire s Candide And Yeats Second Coming
Voltaire s Candide and Yeats Second Coming are the two works I will compare, both story shows that
there is still good in man and there is still time to change. Yeats writes this The falcon cannot hear the
falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world . We are the
falcon, and God is the falconer, He is controlling the people that are in a downward, and
uncontrollable spiral we chose to ignore the voice of God calling out to us. He wants to pull up out of
the deadly decent, but because we do not listen, we are doom to fail. The anarchy that is in the world
is cause by man inability to hear. This is the world that Candide suddenly finds himself in a world
where chaos is everywhere and nothing

Persuasive Essay On Sexual Assault
Sexual assault is a major issue in the world we live in today. The punishment that people get is never
what they actually deserve. There has been all kinds of crime rates for sexual offence all over the
world. Surveys in the United States have proven that one of every six women has experienced an
attempt of rape or even a completed rape experience. Many women who are sexually assaulted are
assaulted by men that they know,or has came into contact with. Women are rarely going to report that
they have been raped when they know the asaultiant. With this being said there are alot of cases that
are under reported. In this essay i will argue the many reasons why women are afraid to report a sexual
assault crime made against them.
One of the main reasons why women do not even try to report the offence is because they know that
nothing is going to happen and that is an issue. In the words of Kirsten Gillibrand There is a pervasive
lack of understanding when it comes to the true nature of campus sexual assault. These are not dates
gone bad or a good guy who had too much to drink. This is a crime largely perpetrated by repeat
offenders, who instead of facing a prosecutor and a jail cell remain on campus after a short term
suspension, if punished at all. (Gillibrand 28). A punishment for these kind of people should never be
just a slap on the hand. Sexaula assault is a real crime and women should be able to see that whoever
has done this horrible thing to them should have great

Washington Wizards Case Study
The Washington Wizards have shown their playoff inexperience throughout this year s playoffs. The
most obvious supporting fact to this claim for the Wizards is their inability to play well on road. For
the Wizards to win this series against the Celtics they must complete a task that they have failed to
achieve this entire season: Win at the TD Garden. Here is what the Wizards will have to do to increase
their chances of winning Game 7. All stars to Super stars John Wall and Bradley Beal are legitimate
all stars. The team is better when both guys are on the court the same time. In their sole road win these
playoffs, the series clinching Game 6 win over the Atlanta Hawks, John Wall played five more
minutes than his minutes per game average. This is not rocket science: the team will be better if their
star athletes play more. It s not that simple though as the additional minutes increases the probability
of diminished returns such as poor play due to fatigue and out of sync team chemistry due to changes
in the lineup rotation among other factors. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the Wizards will have to play John Wall and Bradley Beal +40 minutes to increase their
chances of winning game 7. Additionally, in tough road games, the leaders must lead by example and
set the tone for the younger, less experienced, players. Wall and Beal must be more than average.
Going back to their sole road playoff win, Wall and Beal played above average by combining for 73
points to lead their inexperienced team to victory. This lead by example style by both players was on
display in Game 6 against the Celtics as Wall and Beal scored 13 of the Wizards 16 fourth quarter
points. This must be replicated in Game 7 for the Wizards to be

Divorce
Introduction
Divorce is a legal action between to married people to end their marriage (Meyer, 2015). Divorce is a
social problem in today s society; it has become an epidemic (Alwin McCammon, 2003). In fact, it is
very common for couples to get divorce (Alwin McCammon, 2003). There are several types of
divorce: at fault, no fault divorce and summary divorce (Meyer, 2015). No fault divorce requires
neither husband nor wife to obtain divorce; reasons are commonly known as incompatibility,
irreconcilable differences and irremediable breakdown of marriage (Meyer, 2015). Divorcees can
transfer individual income if all assets were kept separate or income gained during the marriage
(Uunk, 2004). This type of policy helps with the financial consequences that divorce has (Uunk,
2004).
Today, getting married seems to be an old way of thinking (Amato Hohmann Marriott, 2007). Social
influences by the media have encouraged the idea of betrayal and dissolvent of marriage (Rosenfeld,
2014). Internet site have blogs about the thrill of cheating on your partner (Rosenfeld, 2014). Cultural
differences have also influenced marriage (Rosenfeld, 2014). Studies have shown there is a correlation
between social media and the increase in divorce (Rosenfeld, 2014).

The Debate of Interracial Marriages and the Unseen...
The Debate of Interracial Marriages and the Unseen Barriers of Relationships 1 For decades,
interracial relationships have been a deep seated conflict among many people and families in our
history. Not only in the United States, but many countries around the world have debated and banned
such acts. Although it has now been found to be unconstitutional based on the violation of the
fourteenth amendment, societal perceptions, norms, and hate groups have still managed to persist. We
as a country have come a long way in the past fifty years by recognizing the injustice in banning and
punishing certain marriages, but there is still a definite stigma and an abundance of prejudice,
resentment, and negative reactions attached to those who are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These types of experiences and attitudes lead many Black/white couples to isolate from their
communities to protect themselves (Bratter King, p.170). As one can see, when social support is
lacking it can lead to couples isolation. Isolation in turn can lead to other psychological issues and
problems between the couple making arguments and distress much easier to come by. One could
almost say that at least outside of the direct home of the couple, negativity seems to be lurking on all
sides of them. It would be easy to see how divorce may sometimes seem like the most logical or
conceivable solution to these stresses. It is clear that negative reactions from family as well as from
society and also outsider beliefs are aspects that can contribute to stress and negative marital
dynamics, yet there are still other variables like background/values, age, and psychological distress
that was just touched on briefly. In the past, interracial relationships were seen by many as a
psychological flaw or disorder in the person involved; someone who had low self esteem, self
loathing, deep psychological sicknesses, and inferiority issues. These attitudes put even more of a 4
negative impression on

The culture and organizational behavior of Wal Mart has many consumers questioning the integrity of
the company. Wal Mart has seen itself in some of the nations largest suits. Wal Mart has been harshly
criticized in the public eye for over a decade now. The companies brand is a stake and Wal Mart is
fighting to change their reputation it day in and day out. It appears that Wal Mart grew too big too fast
and never planned on this rapid growth. They were not prepared for what the growth entailed and

Sovereign States must Take and Active Role in Global...
By simply interpreting the definition, middle powers are sovereign states that are not super powers or
great powers in the field of international relations, but still have moderate or significant influence than
small powers and have international recognition by other states. After the Second World War, global
society became starting to be aware of the fact that there was a need for middle powers, not so directly
engaged in global economics and politics, to act as intermediary in global governance. With rapid
globalization process among various sectors and many states, the global society has become more
interconnected and interdependent ever in terms of facing global problems as wells as regional ones.
Also with the current international relations, sovereign states as middle powers, they reflect the
tendency to compromise, coordinate, and cooperate in order to maintain their national interests, status

days, and as middle powers they would try to find their voice in international community. This paper
is to examine how middle powers play in current global governance, based on middle power theories.

Erikson s Life Span Theory
Going along with this, Erikson s Life Span Theory presents a lot of ideas that I agree with when it
comes to raising children. Erikson believes that there are eight stages where an individual will face a
crisis. The crisis infants will face is trust or mistrust of their caregiver. I believe this goes back to
nurture, because if you show your child that you are there for them they should develop trust in you
rather than mistrust. The crisis they face during toddlerhood is autonomy or shame and doubt. This
stage is where they begin to develop a sense of self and want to start doing things more on their own.
When beginning to raise my infant, I hope they display personality similarities to fearless, energetic
children. The description of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So I believe I will certain restrictions when it comes to their media use at this age. According to our
books, a good parent for preschooler needs to display affection, nurturance, guidance and discipline,
and interaction with the child. In order to actually be a good parent, co parenting must be effective. I
want to be involved in my child s life, and during their preschool years is of extreme importance to
remember they are watching your every mood, so remaining a positive influence is detrimental.
During pre teens years, I believe that parenting becomes even more difficult. For instance, during this
period your child is most likely going through changes and trying to figure out who they are. With this
in mind, I feel like it is important to keep an open communication line open with your child especially
during this age so they feel comfortable enough to come and discuss worries and problems they may
be facing. Media use starts becoming extremely important during this time, so I would feel the need to
set up certain regulations and make sure they are enforced. I would not allow my child to have a smart
phone during this time period either. I had to wait until I was thirteen, and I think this is the perfect
age. I do not think I would mind if they had a Facebook and Instagram account at this age. However, I
would make it a requirement that I was able to have access to their accounts if I felt the need to check
it out.
Finally, once your child reaches adolescents the

Early Childhood Classroom Observation
J.R. The Boy that Enjoyed to Learn My observation was at Lincoln Elementary School, located at 221
Cross Street, Harrison, New Jersey. I observed an atypical child in the Kindergarten Inclusion
Classroom, in which had a teacher aide Collen Sawyer, a general teacher, and a teacher aide assistant.
The classroom has seven students with special needs participating in a Least Restrictive Environment
with 14 students without disabilities. The classroom was ample with reading area, dramatic area,
science area, manipulative area, writing and art area, and the area with a border and projector for the

left alone because he was quietly writing. In this situation, he could improve more if have no seven
atypical students at the same classroom. In addition, I observed that the teacher did not give more time
for him write the words because of the time and the number of students at the classroom. I realized
that the teacher did not put the student with special needs all together at the same table. This strategy
did work well because she had to keep moving all the time, leaving some atypical students alone in
their tasks, even with a help of the teacher aide assistant was difficulty to help all the atypical students.
Even I do not understand the inclusive classroom well, if I was the teacher aide, I would change where
the atypical students seat during some tasks. For example, writing tasks I would put them into a small
group for teacher direct instruction at the same table. Also, I would try to give more attention to J.R.
because his behavior and excitement in learning would improve more his learning development. I
observed the teacher aide was control the whole classroom and the general teacher was serving her as
assistant during the day. Maybe because of the strong character of the teacher aide or it s the way was
the right way to lead an inclusive classroom. But, if I was the teacher, I would focus more on the
atypical children and leaving the others students for the general teacher to deal with it. Last, I realized
that the speech therapist could not achieve well her time with J.R. because she had to serve a total of
four students with speech difficulties at the same time. To improve

Research Paper On Tupac Shakur
Tupac Amaru Shakur was a very influential person who overcame many difficulties. Tupac was a
rapper of truth that spoke about the things that go on in the Hood and the unjust police. He was treated
differently because he was black and was even arrested for jaywalking. After he was arrested he was
beaten by the cops who wanted him to learn his place (Joseph 29). This shows how bad Tupac had it
because he was African American. Tupac died an early death at 25 because of a brewing rivalry
between the East and West Coast rappers. Shakur was a person who would stand up for what he
believed in no matter the cost and died fighting for that. He never let anyone win a battle that he was
determined to win and always knew what he was fighting for. His mother was the same, as a loyal
member of the Black Panther Party, a group that protected all African Americans from police brutality.
Tupac was literally born to be a fighter and carried on his mother s legacy. Despite his rough life,
Tupac Shakur became one of the most influential rappers of all time.
Tupac Shakur was born on June 16th, 1971, with the name Lesane Crooks. His name was switched to
Tupac Amaru II almost a year later. He was born in New York and lived primarily in Harlem till he
was 13. In 1984 he moved to Baltimore where he lived for four years until he moved to Oakland.

Oh Ms Believer Analysis
Some people listen to songs because they like the how the song sounds to them, and completely ignore
the lyrics, while others listen to the lyrics of the song, rather than simply hearing the catchy beat. In
Oh Ms Believer by Twenty One Pilots, someone is trying to help his or her loved one through the
complications of depression. There are many different hidden meanings in the lyrics of the song Oh
Ms Believer , such as in the lyrics Oh, Miss Believer, my pretty sleeper/Your twisted mind is like
snow on the road (1 2). The song opens with a simile that means her thoughts cover up who she truly
is, or that her thoughts could be dangerous, perhaps life threatening, because when snow covers a road
it becomes hidden, slippery, and dangerous to drive on. Another part of the song s lyrics Your shaking
shoulders prove that it s colder/Inside your head than the winter of dead (3 4), show that the subject in
the song is probably crying because her shoulders are shaking, and also that her thoughts are
depressing and likely dangerous. The entire song relies heavily on the idea of cold, such as winter and

Background and Significance
Simulation was initially used by the airlines and military personnel for training purposes. The first
ground based flight simulator, named the Link trainer, was invented in 1929 by Ed Link (Nickerson
Pollard, 2010). Edwin Albert Link can be said to be the pioneer of simulation implementation. He is
most remembered for inventing the flight simulator, which was then commercialized in 1929 and
called the Blue Box or Link Trainer . Using simulators for training maximizes a student s learning
without real life threats. Simulators are able to replicate scenarios that could damage an actual aircraft
and cause significant injury or even death. The replication of actual flight in simulation would not be
complete without motion. Disputes towards efficiency of motion versus non motion platforms have
been debated within the aviation training community for many years. Many studies have been made
regarding the importance of motion versus non motion. Motion platforms can provide motion for roll,
pitch, heave, surge, yaw, and sway. Motion platforms also can provide crucial over controlling feel
characteristics and play a crucial role in takeoff and

The Goal Of Education And The Goals Of Public Education
The goals of public education revolve around three main areas that include; the political goals of
schooling, the social goals of schooling, and the economic goals of schooling. These goals were
placed with the idea that all children should receive public education whether you were poor or rich
and schools focused on teaching about political views and the law to avoid conflicts. Schools were the
focus of many hopes for political, social, and economic improvement.
A persistent educational goal of school was to give everyone the same chance to pursue wealth, which
is known as equality of opportunity. Equality of opportunity is the idea that individuals compete with
one another with all participants starting at the same point, which Horace Mann referred to as the,
great balance wheel of society (Spring, 2016, p. 66). Schools provide everyone with an equal
opportunity to pursue an education and wealth; however, I believe there are factors that alter that
equilibrium. Mann believed that equality of opportunity would reduce tensions between the rich and
the poor. It allowed the poor to believe that regardless of their circumstance their children had an
equal chance to compete with children of rich families (Spring, 2016 p. 67). However, there are
factors that will contribute to your opportunity to succeed, but schools give students the opportunity to
all start on the same path that end in different destinations.
The debate about equality of opportunity is centered on three

Vampires Never Die, By Guillermo Del Toro And Chuck Hogan
In the text Vampires Never Die, by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan, the authors main purpose is
to tell the origin of vampires and how the perception of vampires has changed throughout history.
Although the myth of an undead monster was created before the word vampire ever was, this text
begins with a story told by John William Polidori that created the two main branches of vampire
fiction known today. These branches include the vampire as a romantic hero and the vampire as an
undead monster. Moreover, Polidori s creation was widely accepted as being based upon Lord Byron,
a superstar in the era of the 1800s. This new twist to an old idea was thought of by Polidori because he
was a doctor and friend to Lord Byron. Nonetheless, Polidori resented Lord Byron s charm, physique,
and brilliance thus creating the alter egos. However, this text also suggest vampires may have
originated from the repressed memories humans had as primates. Therefore, out of necessity, people
may have been cannibalistic. In addition, this text suggest that vampires do not wish to destroy human
lives but rather live for eternity. Furthermore, vampire characters are often used today in a variety of
media ranging anywhere from cereal boxes to romantic fiction. Additionally, Polidori s Dracula
vampire movie was a success due to the featuring of new technology at the time including telegraphs,
typing machines, and blood transfusions. Today, the world is exposed to wireless technology and is

Literacy Level And Educational Attainment
Literacy level and educational attainment are main development indicators in development nation like
India. Better literacy and educational level definitely have a positive impact on the health and other
development index India is the largest democracy in the world. (Dr. Dinesh Das 2012) According to
Census 2011, there are 1.2 billion people in the country, out of which, about 833 million people live in
rural areas. Census 2011 data on disability has not been announced yet United Nations observed that
10% of the population has disability and there are about 120 million people with disabilities in India.
Disability is difficult to define since it varies in type, form and intensity. Understanding disability will
require understanding of these differences. As per the World Health Organization; Disability is an
umbrella term, covering impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions, impairment is
a problem in body function of structure; an activity limitation is difficulty encountered by an
individual in executing a task or action; while a participation restriction is a problem experienced by
an individual in involvement in life situations. Thus disability is a complex phenomenon, reflecting an
interaction between features of a person s body and features of the society in which he or she lives. (J
Franz and B Adkins, 2014) According census 2001 there was over 21 million people in Indian as

Macroscopic Color Lab
Abstract The purpose of these experiments is to find how the molecular components are affecting the
macroscopic color of the solutions by recording the emission and absorbance spectrums for each
solution. These experiments will help specify characteristics of the solution: its molecular and/or
compounded configuration. Knowledge about the emission and absorbance information for the
molecular composition allows for an identification to be made about the molecules or compounds
within the solution, which then can be used to narrow down the possibilities for the solutions. The
experiments will be conducted by observing the burning of the solutions to create emission spectrums
and analyzing the solutions with a spectrophotometer to create the absorbance spectrums.

allows for the specific wavelengths that are emitted to be perceived. Specific molecular components
release certain wavelengths of light because the distance between energy levels, that the electrons
must travel, are specific to each element. Because of this, the information gathered in the spectroscope
and the emission spectrum can give insight as to what components are in the solution. If very specific
ranges of wavelengths are emitted, then it should be clear as to what possibilities the solutions could
be. Again, narrowing down the molecular components can explain the color seen

Essay on An Analysis of Thucydides Views on the Melian...
An Analysis of Thucydides Views on the Melian Dialogue
The Melian Dialogue is a debate between Melian and Athenian representatives concerning the
sovereignty of Melos. The debate did not really occur the arguments given by each side were of
Thucydides own creation. Thus it is reasonable to assume that we can tease out Thucydides own
beliefs. In this paper, I will first extract Thucydides views from the Melian Dialogue and then analyze
whether or not these views are well founded.
Thucydides believed that the Athenians had the stronger argument. Proof of this lies in the way
Thucydides picked the arguments for each side. For the moment, we will disregard the actual content
of the arguments, and look at argumentation forms and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They say for example, ...By a law of nature...if you were as strong as we are, you would do as we do.
Athens arguments are of a higher form than the Melians, because they can be proved or disproved.
Thucydides wrote the Dialogue in this way, and thus we can infer that his own beliefs were that
Athenians were aware of such higher argumentation forms, and the Melians were not. Thucydides
believed that Athenian arguments could be tested.
The Athenians always had the last word; had this been an actual debate the Athenians would have won
by showmanship and persuasion alone. The Melians managed to question their rivals, but once the
Athenians responded, there was no Melian rebuttal. To the question of how other neutral Greek city
states might have reacted to Athenian aggression, Athens responded that any neutral sites that might
have become hostile did not concern them. They argued that neutral city states either posed little
threat, or were already under pressure to join the alliance. To this the Melians had nothing to say. They
instead moved on to say that they would be thought of as base and cowardly should they have
submitted. Athens answered that there is only disgrace in submission to an equal power, not a greater
one like Athens. No Melian concern was left unanswered by the Athenians, yet the Melians were often
at a loss for words. The only explanation for this phenomenon

Polar Bear Challenges
Polar bear is the largest land carnivore in the world, it is an animal native to the Arctic. They live
without definite residence but migrate across the ice and through the seas from Russia to Alaska,
Canada to Greenland and onto the Svalbard archipelago. Adequate food and energy are the key for
polar bear to survival in the harsh arctic environment. In recent years, however, the polar bears have
faced enormous challenges in arctic, where they have no natural enemy. It is well known that the
normal temperature of human body is around 36.5 degree centigrade, sometimes, sudden illness
causes a rise in body temperature. Every sudden increase in temperature of human body is a threat to
human health. The same is happening with the global climate system. On the surface, the temperature
is just a fraction of degree centigrade but the air temperature can be changed very severe during a
certain period and it also causes a chain reaction of weather and climate. The Intergovernmental panel
on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that since the industrial revolution, the average temperatures of
Earth surface has risen by 0.6 degree centigrade (Lisa V. Alexander). Moreover, the rise in temperature
is concentrated in recent decades, there has been an upward trend of about 0.2 degrees Celsius per
decade. Global warming has already affecting the Earth s ecosystems. The polar bear was the first
species be listed as a threatened species in the US under the Endangered Species because of the threats

Historiography Of The British Empire
Any historiography of The British Raj must first start with the understanding that The British Raj fits
within the broader historic concept of The British Empire. In the late 19th Century, many historians
proposed that the history of The British Empire could be broken down into The First British Empire
and The Second British Empire. The British Raj falls within the category of The Second British
Empire within this view. The previous British involvement in India, via The East India Company,
would largely fall within First British Empire. The opinions of historians, not any official decree by
British law or authorities, are the basis for the concept of multiple periods of The British Empire.
There was never an official start, or end date, for either period of empire. The British Empire was
never an official entity, as in there was not a document or constitution dictating how it was
administered. As a result, the colonial administrations varied depending on the colony to which they
belonged. The views on The British Empire, during its height, were not a single monolithic view
shared by all British citizens, but varied across the full spectrum from unwavering support to strong
opposition. Joseph Chamberlain s 1897 book The True Conception of Empire provides an excellent
quote that sums up a common mindset of the era. We feel now that our rule over these territories can
only be justified if we can show that it adds to the happiness and prosperity of the people,

The War With Great Britain For Their Independence
The year is 1775 and the American Colonies are at war with Great Britain for their Independence. The
Continental Congress would soon sign an article into law, which would authorize the construction of
the Navy of the United Colonies of North America. Article 16 of this bill stated that A convenient
place shall be set apart for sick or hurt men, to be removed with their hammocks and bedding when
the surgeon shall advise the same to be necessary: and some of the crew shall be appointed to attend to
and serve them and to keep the place clean. The cooper shall make buckets with covers and cradles if
necessary for their use. Little did they know that this would be the inception of the Hospital

Trans Fats And Its Effects On Human Health
Partially hydrogenated oils: These types of oils have the purpose of giving a longer shelf life to food
and giving more stability to oils that are usually liquid at room temperature. By partially
hydrogenating certain oils, food industries can make liquid oils solid and sustain a food s flavor and
the length it can remain on shelves. This types of oil, PHOs, make up most of the artificial trans fats in
many foods. PHOs are created by chemically altering the chemical bonds of the oils by adding
hydrogen molecules to create a solid oil. This type of oil has a negative impact on human health and
the FDA recently decided that PHOs were regarded as not generally recognized as safe for human
consumption. Since PHOs are the main source of trans fats in American s diets, they have been linked
to an increased risk of heart disease that could lead to heart attacks and death. Hydrogenated oils: Like
partially hydrogenated oils, hydrogenated oils are used to create solids out of naturally liquid oils to
lengthen the life of products. Adding these oils to food also acts as a preservative for foods and
improve texture and taste. Hydrogenated oils are created by heating them at high temperatures for
several hours, then adding a metal catalyst that creates the denser, thicker substance used in foods. The
molecule of the fat is straightened by adding bonds. These oils are also shown to contribute to higher
blood pressure levels and higher cholesterol levels in humans. Since these types of

Overview
The main topics for Assignment 4 are standard costing, variance analysis, and budget creation.
Accountants of all management levels often have to analyze variance reports in order to help in the
decision making process. Through the differentiation of costs into fixed and variable classifications,
managers are better able to construct break even charts and other decision making and control tools.
Understanding cost breakdown can better determine where the inefficiencies of the operations lie, and
determine the first step towards enhancing the efficiency of an operation. In addition, cost analysis

NLJ produces and sells two lines of jackets: nylon and leather. The market for nylon jackets is large

Literary Analysis Of Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken
Brian Hornsby Professor Short ENG 102 14 December 2017 Analysis of Robert Frost s The Road Not
Taken The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is a famous poem that many people are familiar with. In
the poem the speaker arrives at a fork in the road where both paths are strewn with leaves. The speaker
stands there for a time to contemplate which direction to take, and finally decides to take the plunge
on the one less traveled. He comforts himself with his decision by telling himself that he can take the
other road another day even though he knows this is unlikely to happen. The poem concludes with the
speaker s affirmation in his choice by acknowledging the importance of his decision. Frost uses the
image of two roads diverging in a yellow wood to symbolize the choices that one is confronted with in
life and the consequences of making decisions. The poem s structure consists of four stanzas
containing five lines. Each line contains four stressed syllables making the poem iambic tetrameter.
The rhyming scheme is ABAAB throughout the poem until the final stanza where it is broken on the
last line with the final word difference . This change in convention makes the final line stand out and
gives greater impact to the ending. The first stanza conveys a mood of change and introduces the idea
of a life altering decision, which is the basis for the poem. The scene is set with the opening words,
Two roads diverged (line 1). The speaker is standing at a junction in the road pondering two choices.
The roads in the poem are merged where the speaker is standing but lead in two different directions
signifying two different paths in life. One begins to see the metaphorical meaning as early as the first
line with the reference to yellow wood (line 1). This suggests that the setting happens during fall
which is the season of change. The second line, sorry I could not have traveled both (line 2) expresses
the curiosity to explore several possibilities in life. It also forms a sense of regret at not knowing what
could lie ahead on the unchosen road and the speaker s limitation to one lifetime. When the speaker
says, And be one traveler (line 3), it is obvious that it is not possible to travel down both paths. He

Everyone Focused On Zuckerberg s Hoodie
Designer clothing, luxury cars, flashy handbags. These are just a few of the status symbols that
differentiate the rich from the poor. These items are often used to determine the who s who in today s
society by showing off wealth and status. Although others should not be based solely on their income,
this judgement is sadly commonplace. The rich and the poor are segregated both by accident and on
purpose in many situations and the lower class is the one that deals with the brunt of that
discrimination. As the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, the upper class loses familiarity with the
problems that typical Americans face (Palacios). Two articles that highlight this issue are Why is
Everyone Focused on Zuckerberg s Hoodie by Somini Sengupta and The Logic of Stupid Poor People

Comparing Genesis Creation And The Norse Culture
Although a lot of other cosmogonic myths have presented creations as part of a natural process that
has the clear understanding that it is an act of divine and creative will. We all know there are several
creation myths across different cultures. It is known that every different culture even has its unique
creation myth that also explains how life and world came to be (Leonard McClure, 2004). The two
myths I would talk about when it comes to this topic are Genesis creation (Hebrew origin) of the
Christian culture, and the Norse culture of Iceland (the Vikings). From the readings of both, both
myths also start with an emptiness where conflict and chaos may even eventually develop. The
Genesis conflict is between God, loneliness, blackness, emptiness, and the need to create ... Show

strength (Rath, 2007). According to research, it has been discovered that people progress more when
they invest their energy to build their strength rather than fixing their weakness (Rath, 2007). Gallup,
the writer of the book says the book strengths finder actually measures our talent, not strength because
the goal is to help us find our true talents and build them as our strength (Rath, 2007). In the book
strengths finder 2.0, the writer talks about 34 most common talents which help us find the areas where
we have the greatest capacity to develop our strengths (Rath, 2007). All 34 themes can be our greatest
strength if we apply in a right way in right time. In this paper, I will be talking about mainly three
strengths that I chose from the book to apply in nursing career as well as in my daily life practice.
Three talents that will help build our strengths are focus, empathy and responsibility. Focus, is when
we set goals, we must stay on track with timelines and measurements (Rath, 2007). Because, staying
focused is very important as a leader in order to achieve our goal. Staying focused means we need to
set a clear destination because focus is a powerful theme where it helps us to filter our goal and

After hours of deep research, one would be able to solve how statistics could be done incorrectly. My
research was not extreme enough to find the true difference between replication problem and

experiments that are usually impossible to replicate on subsequent investigation. While a replication
problem in social sciences would be that the scientists are not interested in experiments that have

The only problem is that they randomly sampled two hundred students from the school, which can
lead to misleading conclusions since they could possibly choose a group of students of love coffee, but
the rest of the students that were not surveyed could dislike coffee. This would lead the new coffee
shop into closing down from the lack of sales. When researchers do not receive the conclusions they
were expecting, they switch to p hacking. P hacking is when a surveyor drops specific data points so
that the p value will be under five percent. P hackers monitor data while it is being collected. This
would be the same as significance searching since the researchers will produce false results so that
they can reach their desired significance. Researcher degrees of freedom also falls in a similar column
that these other terms are in. A researcher degrees of freedom influences the probability of a false
positive result. Misunderstanding the p values is extremely common, nevertheless, there are six ways
researchers misinterpret p values often. The most common misinterpretations of p values usually
include: the p value does not indicate the size or importance of the experiment, the significance level
is not determined by the p value, the p value is not the probability that replicating the experiment
would produce to the same conclusion, and the p value is not the probability of falsely rejecting the
null hypothesis.

Social Media And Satire
Why exactly has technology had a bad impact on the world when it was originally created to make

Britain s Political And Religious Structure During The...
Between the years 1529 1588 and in the Tudor era, Britain saw perhaps the biggest changes in its
political and religious structure in its history. It changed from Catholicism to Protestantism, then back
and back again. It also saw major changes in who ran the country, with more involvement from
parliament. Different chief ministers (including Thomas Cromwell) had different impacts on Britain
and the monarch, and the influence of them will be assessed in this essay. Thomas Wolsey was born in
1475, and rose his way the top. Before being made a cardinal, he became a priest and a successful
politician, and he was the almoner (in charge of distributing funds to the poor) when Henry came to
the throne in 1509. Wolsey held several important positions. He was the Bishop of Lincoln, Canon of
Windsor and also Prince Bishop of Durham. One accomplishment that Wolsey is particularly
remembered for, is organising the Field of The Cloth Of Gold. This was a festival planned to celebrate
the alliance between England and France, with both monarchs, Henry VIII and Francis I strengthening
their relationship. The treaty of London was also a huge accomplishment for Wolsey, as he was the
one who designed the 1518 treaty. It was a non aggression pact between the major European nations,
(France, England, Holy Roman Empire, the Papacy, Spain, Burgundy and the Netherlands), all of
whom agreed not to attack one another and come to aid if needed. Though it was not always

A Comparison Of Freudian Psychoanalysis And The Awakening
Freudian Psychoanalysis and the Awakening Sigmund Freud, the preeminent, 19th century, European

transcend all borders and integrate itself deeply into many facets of society. In fact, an American
named Kate Chopin, wrote a book entitled The Awakening, which was published at the turn of the
19th century, in which this theory played an integral role in expressing the complexity, relevance, and
growth of the main character. The express importance of the main character displaying a Freudian

However the text does hint at eventual abandonment of this balance. This may seem like a ponderous

than the Holy Ghost is usually pleased to vouchsafe to any woman. (Pg 33 34) Though her Superego
does appear to be keeping the Id and the Ego in check, the text implies that it will not be able to hold
its dominant position much longer. Through the usage of Freudian Psychoanalysis in her main
character Edna, Chopin gives readers a candid glance into the elaborate nature of women s thoughts
and feelings in the 19th century. It is clear that established roles were very highly in question, as well
as the importance of self expression and discovery. These are very important elements of humanity to
consider as they relate very heavily to the condition of society today. These ideas can be seen in
politics, the arts, social relations, and an individual s perception of their duties to society. The idea of
the Id, the Ego, and the Superego does seem to be a realistic perception of the human mindset, as
demonstrated through Edna s thought process, and can be applied to the way of thought that people
have possessed for hundreds of years. In these times, the world struggles to achieve meaning and
purpose within themselves and among their societies, and the Awakening offers an extremely
interesting point of view; Learning to recognise and explore

overview of the subject of the book. Browning discussed Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the part it
played in the World War II during the Holocaust, especially in the Final Solution , which was the
attempted eradication of Jews. Not only does Browning discuss Battalion 101, but he uses them as an
example of how ordinary people can commit atrocities such as mass murder. Christopher Browning is
a professor of history at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He is considered an
expert on the Holocaust and has written several acclaimed books covering this subject (Christopher R.
Browning). To write this his book Ordinary Men, he relies on a collection of indictments and
judgements that took place from 1962 to 1972 (Browning xvii). These cases that Browning studied are
full of testimonies from Battalion 101 members. He writes Ordinary Men completely based on these
testimonies and the conclusions that can be drawn from them. ... Show more content on

It was made up of middle aged who were too old to serve in the army. They were men from all walks
of life. Some had been career policeman, but others had been normal things, such as businessmen,
waiters, teachers, truck drivers, and construction workers. All these men came from the Hamburg area
in Germany (Browning 47). Police Battalion 101 served as a mass execution squad in Poland during
1942 and 1943. Around 500 men made up Battalion 101, and they were involved in the deaths of at
least 80,000 Jews in this short time. They either personally shot each one or they loaded them up on
cattle cars and sent large numbers of Jews to death camps such as Treblinka or

Kevlar Leather Jacket Pros And Cons
Introduction
In the decades since I first climbed on top of a motorcycle, I have seen a lot of changes. Riding
partners have come and gone, laws have evolved, and the public s perception of bikers has, thankfully,
improved. The biking community is in a state of perpetual change, just like the world around it, but
one thing remains constant: leather jackets. Both stylish and secure, leather has been relied upon by
bikers throughout history to keep them safe from the elements and protect them during falls and
crashes.
The leather jacket is as synonymous with motorcycles as two wheels and an engine, but an increasing
number of bikers are leaving behind their leather jackets in favor of alternatives of a different material,
such as mesh or Kevlar. Some readers may be unfamiliar with the latter, which hasn t received as
much publicity as some other protective materials, but if Kevlar motorcycle jackets can gain global
attention, it is quite possible they can dethrone their leather opponents.
But what exactly does a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leather jackets tend to offer very poor ventilation, even when they are fitted with mesh vents. If you
live in a cold climate, this likely won t be a problem, but those who attempt to ride in a leather
motorcycle jacket during warmer months will be putting themselves at risk of heat stroke.
Cruel
As the world becomes increasingly more mindful, the cruelty associated with leather jackets becomes
a bigger and bigger problem. Leather, as most of us know but do our best to ignore, is made from the
skin of animals, most commonly cows. Killing animals for the sake of clothing is, admittedly, pretty
horrendous, and many animal loving bikers have moved on to textile motorcycle jackets while
actively campaigning against leather protective equipment.

  • 2. Money Can Buy Happiness. .Most Of Us Are Familiar With Money Can Buy Happiness Most of us are familiar with the old adage, Money can t buy happiness, but few question the validity of the statement and its meaning. The debate: Can money buy you happiness? is a spirited debate that has been argued since currency came about. There are those that side with the popular saying and argue that money has no relation to an individual s happiness. Those in support of the expression, money can t buy happiness, state the claim that true happiness stems from internal feelings of self worth, where meaning in life is naturally created by doing good, acting justly, and abiding by purity. Those that dispute the saying and believe the opposite have found a shared commonality in several contributing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If it were true, that there is no link between money and happiness, why have economists studied this connection for many years? In fact, in just the past 30 years, studies have shown there is indeed a significant association between money and happiness. Over the course of these studies, it has been determined that people in rich countries are far happier than people in poor countries (Maich 1). The relationship between wealth and happiness has even been described to be, more complicated than the romantic entanglements of any Desperate Housewife (Futrelle 1). It is true that the connection between happiness and money is intricate, however, the link is measurable. Based on a study done by the University of Michigan, it was found that, a higher income leads to a greater sense of well being, which in turn, contributes to an individual s happiness greatly (Kurtzleben 1). While the opposition argues there is no apparent link between wealth and happiness, it is clear to see that there is a very real connection between the two. Additionally, wealth and happiness now appear to be far more dependent on one another than we may have previously come to terms with. It is ironic that the opposition, who argue there is no real relationship between wealth and happiness are the very people arguing that, if there is any link between the two, money only contributes to temporary happiness. Both of these arguments can be rebutted swiftly. It has already been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparing Voltaire s Candide And Yeats Second Coming Voltaire s Candide and Yeats Second Coming are the two works I will compare, both story shows that there is still good in man and there is still time to change. Yeats writes this The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world . We are the falcon, and God is the falconer, He is controlling the people that are in a downward, and uncontrollable spiral we chose to ignore the voice of God calling out to us. He wants to pull up out of the deadly decent, but because we do not listen, we are doom to fail. The anarchy that is in the world is cause by man inability to hear. • 4. Persuasive Essay On Sexual Assault Sexual assault is a major issue in the world we live in today. The punishment that people get is never what they actually deserve. There has been all kinds of crime rates for sexual offence all over the world. Surveys in the United States have proven that one of every six women has experienced an attempt of rape or even a completed rape experience. Many women who are sexually assaulted are assaulted by men that they know,or has came into contact with. Women are rarely going to report that they have been raped when they know the asaultiant. With this being said there are alot of cases that are under reported. In this essay i will argue the many reasons why women are afraid to report a sexual assault crime made against them. One of the main reasons why women do not even try to report the offence is because they know that nothing is going to happen and that is an issue. In the words of Kirsten Gillibrand There is a pervasive lack of understanding when it comes to the true nature of campus sexual assault. These are not dates gone bad or a good guy who had too much to drink. This is a crime largely perpetrated by repeat offenders, who instead of facing a prosecutor and a jail cell remain on campus after a short term suspension, if punished at all. (Gillibrand 28). A punishment for these kind of people should never be just a slap on the hand. Sexaula assault is a real crime and women should be able to see that whoever has done this horrible thing to them should have great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Washington Wizards Case Study The Washington Wizards have shown their playoff inexperience throughout this year s playoffs. The most obvious supporting fact to this claim for the Wizards is their inability to play well on road. For the Wizards to win this series against the Celtics they must complete a task that they have failed to achieve this entire season: Win at the TD Garden. Here is what the Wizards will have to do to increase their chances of winning Game 7. All stars to Super stars John Wall and Bradley Beal are legitimate all stars. The team is better when both guys are on the court the same time. In their sole road win these playoffs, the series clinching Game 6 win over the Atlanta Hawks, John Wall played five more minutes than his minutes per game average. This is not rocket science: the team will be better if their star athletes play more. It s not that simple though as the additional minutes increases the probability of diminished returns such as poor play due to fatigue and out of sync team chemistry due to changes in the lineup rotation among other factors. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, the Wizards will have to play John Wall and Bradley Beal +40 minutes to increase their chances of winning game 7. Additionally, in tough road games, the leaders must lead by example and set the tone for the younger, less experienced, players. Wall and Beal must be more than average. Going back to their sole road playoff win, Wall and Beal played above average by combining for 73 points to lead their inexperienced team to victory. This lead by example style by both players was on display in Game 6 against the Celtics as Wall and Beal scored 13 of the Wizards 16 fourth quarter points. Wuaku SOCL 1020 Introduction to Sociology 8 January 2015 Table of Contents Introduction 3 Review of Literature 4 Conclusion 5 Reference List 6 Divorce Introduction Divorce is a legal action between to married people to end their marriage (Meyer, 2015). Divorce is a social problem in today s society; it has become an epidemic (Alwin McCammon, 2003). In fact, it is very common for couples to get divorce (Alwin McCammon, 2003). There are several types of divorce: at fault, no fault divorce and summary divorce (Meyer, 2015). No fault divorce requires neither husband nor wife to obtain divorce; reasons are commonly known as incompatibility, irreconcilable differences and irremediable breakdown of marriage (Meyer, 2015). Divorcees can transfer individual income if all assets were kept separate or income gained during the marriage (Uunk, 2004). This type of policy helps with the financial consequences that divorce has (Uunk, 2004). Today, getting married seems to be an old way of thinking (Amato Hohmann Marriott, 2007). Social influences by the media have encouraged the idea of betrayal and dissolvent of marriage (Rosenfeld, 2014). Internet site have blogs about the thrill of cheating on your partner (Rosenfeld, 2014). Cultural differences have also influenced marriage (Rosenfeld, 2014). Studies have shown there is a correlation between social media and the increase in divorce (Rosenfeld, 2014). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Debate of Interracial Marriages and the Unseen Barriers of Relationships 1 For decades, interracial relationships have been a deep seated conflict among many people and families in our history. Not only in the United States, but many countries around the world have debated and banned such acts. Although it has now been found to be unconstitutional based on the violation of the fourteenth amendment, societal perceptions, norms, and hate groups have still managed to persist. We as a country have come a long way in the past fifty years by recognizing the injustice in banning and punishing certain marriages, but there is still a definite stigma and an abundance of prejudice, resentment, and negative reactions attached to those who are ... As one can see, when social support is lacking it can lead to couples isolation. Isolation in turn can lead to other psychological issues and problems between the couple making arguments and distress much easier to come by. One could almost say that at least outside of the direct home of the couple, negativity seems to be lurking on all sides of them. It would be easy to see how divorce may sometimes seem like the most logical or conceivable solution to these stresses. It is clear that negative reactions from family as well as from society and also outsider beliefs are aspects that can contribute to stress and negative marital dynamics, yet there are still other variables like background/values, age, and psychological distress that was just touched on briefly. In the past, interracial relationships were seen by many as a psychological flaw or disorder in the person involved; someone who had low self esteem, self loathing, deep psychological sicknesses, and inferiority issues. By simply interpreting the definition, middle powers are sovereign states that are not super powers or great powers in the field of international relations, but still have moderate or significant influence than small powers and have international recognition by other states. After the Second World War, global society became starting to be aware of the fact that there was a need for middle powers, not so directly engaged in global economics and politics, to act as intermediary in global governance. With rapid globalization process among various sectors and many states, the global society has become more interconnected and interdependent ever in terms of facing global problems as wells as regional ones. Erikson believes that there are eight stages where an individual will face a crisis. The crisis infants will face is trust or mistrust of their caregiver. I believe this goes back to nurture, because if you show your child that you are there for them they should develop trust in you rather than mistrust. The crisis they face during toddlerhood is autonomy or shame and doubt. This stage is where they begin to develop a sense of self and want to start doing things more on their own. I want to be involved in my child s life, and during their preschool years is of extreme importance to remember they are watching your every mood, so remaining a positive influence is detrimental. During pre teens years, I believe that parenting becomes even more difficult. For instance, during this period your child is most likely going through changes and trying to figure out who they are. With this in mind, I feel like it is important to keep an open communication line open with your child especially during this age so they feel comfortable enough to come and discuss worries and problems they may be facing. The Goal Of Education And The Goals Of Public Education The goals of public education revolve around three main areas that include; the political goals of schooling, the social goals of schooling, and the economic goals of schooling. These goals were placed with the idea that all children should receive public education whether you were poor or rich and schools focused on teaching about political views and the law to avoid conflicts. Schools were the focus of many hopes for political, social, and economic improvement. A persistent educational goal of school was to give everyone the same chance to pursue wealth, which is known as equality of opportunity. Equality of opportunity is the idea that individuals compete with one another with all participants starting at the same point, which Horace Mann referred to as the, great balance wheel of society (Spring, 2016, p. 66). Schools provide everyone with an equal opportunity to pursue an education and wealth; however, I believe there are factors that alter that equilibrium. Mann believed that equality of opportunity would reduce tensions between the rich and the poor. It allowed the poor to believe that regardless of their circumstance their children had an equal chance to compete with children of rich families (Spring, 2016 p. 67). However, there are factors that will contribute to your opportunity to succeed, but schools give students the opportunity to all start on the same path that end in different destinations. Vampires Never Die, By Guillermo Del Toro And Chuck Hogan In the text Vampires Never Die, by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan, the authors main purpose is to tell the origin of vampires and how the perception of vampires has changed throughout history. Although the myth of an undead monster was created before the word vampire ever was, this text begins with a story told by John William Polidori that created the two main branches of vampire fiction known today. These branches include the vampire as a romantic hero and the vampire as an undead monster. Moreover, Polidori s creation was widely accepted as being based upon Lord Byron, a superstar in the era of the 1800s. This new twist to an old idea was thought of by Polidori because he was a doctor and friend to Lord Byron. Nonetheless, Polidori resented Lord Byron s charm, physique, and brilliance thus creating the alter egos. However, this text also suggest vampires may have originated from the repressed memories humans had as primates. Therefore, out of necessity, people may have been cannibalistic. In addition, this text suggest that vampires do not wish to destroy human lives but rather live for eternity. Furthermore, vampire characters are often used today in a variety of media ranging anywhere from cereal boxes to romantic fiction. Macroscopic Color Lab Abstract The purpose of these experiments is to find how the molecular components are affecting the macroscopic color of the solutions by recording the emission and absorbance spectrums for each solution. These experiments will help specify characteristics of the solution: its molecular and/or compounded configuration. Knowledge about the emission and absorbance information for the molecular composition allows for an identification to be made about the molecules or compounds within the solution, which then can be used to narrow down the possibilities for the solutions. The experiments will be conducted by observing the burning of the solutions to create emission spectrums and analyzing the solutions with a spectrophotometer to create the absorbance spectrums. Thucydides believed that Athenian arguments could be tested. The Athenians always had the last word; had this been an actual debate the Athenians would have won by showmanship and persuasion alone. The Melians managed to question their rivals, but once the Athenians responded, there was no Melian rebuttal. To the question of how other neutral Greek city states might have reacted to Athenian aggression, Athens responded that any neutral sites that might have become hostile did not concern them. They argued that neutral city states either posed little threat, or were already under pressure to join the alliance. To this the Melians had nothing to say. They instead moved on to say that they would be thought of as base and cowardly should they have submitted. In the late 19th Century, many historians proposed that the history of The British Empire could be broken down into The First British Empire and The Second British Empire. The British Raj falls within the category of The Second British Empire within this view. The previous British involvement in India, via The East India Company, would largely fall within First British Empire. The opinions of historians, not any official decree by British law or authorities, are the basis for the concept of multiple periods of The British Empire. Trans Fats And Its Effects On Human Health Partially hydrogenated oils: These types of oils have the purpose of giving a longer shelf life to food and giving more stability to oils that are usually liquid at room temperature. By partially hydrogenating certain oils, food industries can make liquid oils solid and sustain a food s flavor and the length it can remain on shelves. This types of oil, PHOs, make up most of the artificial trans fats in many foods. PHOs are created by chemically altering the chemical bonds of the oils by adding hydrogen molecules to create a solid oil. This type of oil has a negative impact on human health and the FDA recently decided that PHOs were regarded as not generally recognized as safe for human consumption. Since PHOs are the main source of trans fats in American s diets, they have been linked to an increased risk of heart disease that could lead to heart attacks and death. Hydrogenated oils: Like partially hydrogenated oils, hydrogenated oils are used to create solids out of naturally liquid oils to lengthen the life of products. Adding these oils to food also acts as a preservative for foods and improve texture and taste. Hydrogenated oils are created by heating them at high temperatures for several hours, then adding a metal catalyst that creates the denser, thicker substance used in foods. The molecule of the fat is straightened by adding bonds. These oils are also shown to contribute to higher blood pressure levels and higher cholesterol levels in humans. Since these types of ... MODULE 2, ASSIGNMENT 4 October 22, 2013 Topic: Standard Costing, Variance Analysis and Budgets Overview The main topics for Assignment 4 are standard costing, variance analysis, and budget creation. Accountants of all management levels often have to analyze variance reports in order to help in the decision making process. Through the differentiation of costs into fixed and variable classifications, managers are better able to construct break even charts and other decision making and control tools. Understanding cost breakdown can better determine where the inefficiencies of the operations lie, and determine the first step towards enhancing the efficiency of an operation. He decided to call in the company s newly hired controller, a Certified Management Accountant, to ask for a variance analysis. NLJ produces and sells two lines of jackets: nylon and leather. The market for nylon jackets is large and competitive, but the leather jacket market has traditionally been small with only a few competing manufacturers. • 28. Literary Analysis Of Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken Brian Hornsby Professor Short ENG 102 14 December 2017 Analysis of Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is a famous poem that many people are familiar with. In the poem the speaker arrives at a fork in the road where both paths are strewn with leaves. The speaker stands there for a time to contemplate which direction to take, and finally decides to take the plunge on the one less traveled. He comforts himself with his decision by telling himself that he can take the other road another day even though he knows this is unlikely to happen. The poem concludes with the speaker s affirmation in his choice by acknowledging the importance of his decision. Frost uses the image of two roads diverging in a yellow wood to symbolize the choices that one is confronted with in life and the consequences of making decisions. The poem s structure consists of four stanzas containing five lines. Each line contains four stressed syllables making the poem iambic tetrameter. The rhyming scheme is ABAAB throughout the poem until the final stanza where it is broken on the last line with the final word difference . This change in convention makes the final line stand out and gives greater impact to the ending. The first stanza conveys a mood of change and introduces the idea of a life altering decision, which is the basis for the poem. The scene is set with the opening words, Two roads diverged (line 1). The speaker is standing at a junction in the road pondering two choices. The roads in the poem are merged where the speaker is standing but lead in two different directions signifying two different paths in life. One begins to see the metaphorical meaning as early as the first line with the reference to yellow wood (line 1). This suggests that the setting happens during fall which is the season of change. The second line, sorry I could not have traveled both (line 2) expresses the curiosity to explore several possibilities in life. It also forms a sense of regret at not knowing what could lie ahead on the unchosen road and the speaker s limitation to one lifetime. When the speaker says, And be one traveler (line 3), it is obvious that it is not possible to travel down both paths. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These items are often used to determine the who s who in today s society by showing off wealth and status. Although others should not be based solely on their income, this judgement is sadly commonplace. The rich and the poor are segregated both by accident and on purpose in many situations and the lower class is the one that deals with the brunt of that discrimination. As the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, the upper class loses familiarity with the problems that typical Americans face (Palacios). Two articles that highlight this issue are Why is Everyone Focused on Zuckerberg s Hoodie by Somini Sengupta and The Logic of Stupid Poor People by Tressie McMillan Cottom. In Sengupta s article she discusses the simple, yet iconic hoodie often worn by Mark Zuckerberg and why it is so much more than it seems. Comparing Genesis Creation And The Norse Culture Although a lot of other cosmogonic myths have presented creations as part of a natural process that has the clear understanding that it is an act of divine and creative will. We all know there are several creation myths across different cultures. It is known that every different culture even has its unique creation myth that also explains how life and world came to be (Leonard McClure, 2004). The two myths I would talk about when it comes to this topic are Genesis creation (Hebrew origin) of the Christian culture, and the Norse culture of Iceland (the Vikings). From the readings of both, both myths also start with an emptiness where conflict and chaos may even eventually develop. Today s societies are revolving around fixing our weakness rather than focusing on our strength (Rath, 2007). According to research, it has been discovered that people progress more when they invest their energy to build their strength rather than fixing their weakness (Rath, 2007). Gallup, the writer of the book says the book strengths finder actually measures our talent, not strength because the goal is to help us find our true talents and build them as our strength (Rath, 2007). In the book strengths finder 2.0, the writer talks about 34 most common talents which help us find the areas where we have the greatest capacity to develop our strengths (Rath, 2007). All 34 themes can be our greatest strength if we apply in a right way in right time. In this paper, I will be talking about mainly three strengths that I chose from the book to apply in nursing career as well as in my daily life practice. Three talents that will help build our strengths are focus, empathy and responsibility. Focus, is when we set goals, we must stay on track with timelines and measurements (Rath, 2007). P hacking is when a surveyor drops specific data points so that the p value will be under five percent. P hackers monitor data while it is being collected. • 37. Britain s Political And Religious Structure During The... Between the years 1529 1588 and in the Tudor era, Britain saw perhaps the biggest changes in its political and religious structure in its history. It changed from Catholicism to Protestantism, then back and back again. It also saw major changes in who ran the country, with more involvement from parliament. Different chief ministers (including Thomas Cromwell) had different impacts on Britain and the monarch, and the influence of them will be assessed in this essay. Thomas Wolsey was born in 1475, and rose his way the top. Before being made a cardinal, he became a priest and a successful politician, and he was the almoner (in charge of distributing funds to the poor) when Henry came to the throne in 1509. Wolsey held several important positions. He was the Bishop of Lincoln, Canon of Windsor and also Prince Bishop of Durham. One accomplishment that Wolsey is particularly remembered for, is organising the Field of The Cloth Of Gold. This was a festival planned to celebrate the alliance between England and France, with both monarchs, Henry VIII and Francis I strengthening their relationship. The treaty of London was also a huge accomplishment for Wolsey, as he was the one who designed the 1518 treaty. It was a non aggression pact between the major European nations, (France, England, Holy Roman Empire, the Papacy, Spain, Burgundy and the Netherlands), all of whom agreed not to attack one another and come to aid if needed. Through the usage of Freudian Psychoanalysis in her main character Edna, Chopin gives readers a candid glance into the elaborate nature of women s thoughts and feelings in the 19th century. It is clear that established roles were very highly in question, as well as the importance of self expression and discovery. These are very important elements of humanity to consider as they relate very heavily to the condition of society today. These ideas can be seen in politics, the arts, social relations, and an individual s perception of their duties to society. The idea of the Id, the Ego, and the Superego does seem to be a realistic perception of the human mindset, as demonstrated through Edna s thought process, and can be applied to the way of thought that people have possessed for hundreds of years.
