This is my schedule for my unit g321.

8TH
SEPTEMBER Firstly, I was introduced to AS Media studies and created
a blog page on word press whereI would be uploading
my media coursework later on in the year
15TH
SEPTEMBER We briefly looked at theorists such as Katz, Mazlow and
Hartly. So that I could relate them to my magazine of
inspiration ‘Billboard’.
22ND
SEPTEMBER I then created a questionnaireto send out to people
who represented my target audience. This then helped
me for when I started my preliminary tasks.
29TH
SEPTEMBER Next I started designing my hand drawn drafts for my
frontcover and contents pages for my school magazine.
Whilst I put together my hand drawn drafts I “repeated”
(Neale) the codes and conventions featured on my
magazine of inspiration.

2. 6TH
OCTOBER Now I started designing my frontcover on Photoshop.
On my frontcover I included a Masthead, strapline,
main central image, cover stories, barcodeand
puff/promotion. I did this whilst bearing in mind my
target audience and how to conformto their
requirements.
13TH
OCTOBER One I completed my frontcover I began to create my
contents page for the magazine‘College Weekly’. Whilst
creating this I referred back to my hand drawn drafts. I
included codes and conventions such as masthead,
cover stories, editorial, page numbers and
puff/promotion.
20TH
OCTOBER Once I completed the frontcover and my contents page
I made a few minor corrections to both pages. I think
that the preliminary pages where very beneficial as it
prepared me for the main task and helped me
understand how to meet the needs of the audience.
HALF TERM

3. 3RD
NOVEMBER I purchased a copy of ‘Bill Board’ magazineto use as
inspiration for creating my own music magazine. I then
decided not to produceand hand drawn drafts as I felt
that they werenot useful for my preliminary task. I
analysed my issueof ‘Bill Board’ highlighting all the
necessary codes and conventions. I then began to look
at a masthead for my own magazine. This is when I
came up with name ‘Shuffle’.
10TH
NOVEMBER I then began to preparemy frontcover on photoshop.
Whilst creating I Included things such as a masthead,
barcode, cover lines, puff/promotion, and a main central
image.
17TH
NOVEMBER This week i completed my frontcover to the bestof
ability making surethat it was aesthetically pleasing.
Although I based my design on my magazineof
inspiration I made surethat it included some ‘difference’
(Neale) so that my magazinewas able to compete with
other magazines of the same genre(s). I then began to
work on my contents page.
24TH
NOVEMBER I took a series of original images for my contents page
this included an editorial image; image of the main
cover star and additional image of some cover stars. I
arranged them appropriately onto the page. On my
contents page I decided to include someconvergence.
Which will allow my audience to access my magazine
online and on social networking sites.

4. 1ST
DECEMBER Once my contents page was finished, I received some
feedback and made some changes so that I was ready to
move onto my double page spread. After looking at ‘Bill
Board’ and its double page spread and I decided that I
wanted my double page to be different as I felt it did not
include some of the codes and conventions needed as I
felt it needed to be moreaesthetically appealing.
8TH
DECEMBER I decided to split my page into two one page being the
image and the other being the interview. I made sure
that I wrote out my interview using the appropriate
language for my target audience and that there was
differentiation between the interviewer and the
interviewee. So that it was made clear for the audience.
I then proceeded to add some puff/promotion for my
magazine and the star featured in DPS.
15TH
DECEMBER Now that I have finished my double page spread. I then
again obtained some more feedback and made some
more changes accordingly. Such as including more than
one main quote and adding the credits to the
photographer, editor and stylist. I included the use of
the word “exclusive” as I felt it promoted the article and
attracted the audience.
5TH
JANUARY I began to brain stormand mind map my ideas for what
questions I could ask my audience members regarding
my magazineto see if they would buy my magazine and

5. why and whatthey thought was the most successful
aspects.
12TH
JANUARY This week I began my evaluation and started to answer
the firstquestion out of the seven needed.
2ND
FEBRUARY This week, after finishing question 1 I began to answer
question 2 and 3 which I managed to answer by the end
of the week.
9TH
FEBRUARY This week I completed questions 4-6. I was hopefulto
finish the last question next week.
23RD
FEBRUARY During this week I completed the last question and got
started on my photography analysis for all three of my
magazine pages.
9TH
MARCH I then obtained someaudience feedback through social
networking services and added them to my evaluation
PowerPointconcluding my results.
16TH
MARCH Know that all of my work is finished I uploaded it onto
my blog page and wrote a brief summary for each
section.
