2. I have learnt about target audience theories.
Started completing the target audience for Q Magazine.
Today I have started to set up my blog page. I have chosen an
appropriate theme as well as adding a base template to format my
work.
I have started working on my target audience for my new magazine.
I have also yet to create my survey on SurveyMonkey.
I have completed writing up about my target audience and have also
finished creating the survey on SurveyMonkey. I am still waiting to get
an image of my typical reader.
Annotated the prelim task codes and conventions as well as what
default design we must have on the magazine cover.
Monday 6th October Monday 22nd September
Finished the hard copy questionnaire to hand out.
Started mind-mapping ideas for my music magazine and learn a few
basics skills on Photoshop in order to create a successful front cover.
Thursday 25th September
Learnt some skills in photoshop and started to design the front cover
for the preliminary task.
Monday 13th October Today I started my preliminary contents task and completed the
transformation of the previous preliminary task layers into my
contents page. Today I completed my first blog page post and also
have continued on the content page including a near title saying
contents. I have also kept up to date on the stages I am making on a

3. word document called Step by Step including screenshots.
Monday 20th October Today I have moved on with contents page
I have sent my survey monkey to everyone and am awaiting a reply. I
have completed the questionnaire and have started to make new
layers for my headings and sublines, I just need to link the layers and
duplicate them to make it aligned and more structured.
Half Term
Monday 3rd November I have completed my tasks to do from the half term, apart from hand
drawn tasks and also completed my corrections from my contents
page

Have almost finished my mind-map, just thinking on some more ideas
for the strapline to properly fit the audience and purpose.
Thursday 13th November
I have started on my music magazine front cover and managed to get
the basic conventions added, which included the masthead, the
barcode and a few of the cover lines in a similar fashion to XXL
magazine.
I also finished my mind-map completely and have uploaded it onto my
blog.
Monday 17th November I have created a masthead for my main task by downloading and
installing a font of my choice that suits the hip hop genre for my front
cover and have found a cover star to match my African American

4. stereotype.
In addition I have also created a main headline which denotes an
exclusive interview with my cover star and have resized my social
media links and barcode in order to fit within my lines.
Monday 24th November This lesson I have taken a picture of my cover star and will soon insert
him onto the front cover of my magazine, I have also made a few
changes to my front cover such as my promotion of O2 tickets and
layout changes.
I have also used the rubber tool in order to even out my cover star and
his features and have added Joe to my magazine as a cover star. I have
also created my main headline in my chosen colour scheme of black,
yellow and red and 1 cover line that reveals the top 50 hip hop stars of
the 21st century so far.
Monday 1st December I have taken a front cover photo of which relates to the hip hop scene
and correctly influences the overall layout of my magazine towards
the hip hop community.
Monday 8th December I have a few corrections that I need to adapt on my front cover page
but am working on it in great detail to perfect the overall professional
look of the magazine. I made increasingly large changes on my
contents page making the color scheme more targeted towards my
front cover. I made the masthead clear and bold and brought social
media effectively within the magazine.
Monday 15th December I have now made a start on my main task contents page, I have added
the page number and indicated where each feature will be located. I

5. have also changed the background to black in order to continue with
by brand identity from my main task front cover.
Christmas Holidays I was away on holiday and was not able to make many alterations
while abroad due to poor internet access.
Monday 5th I missed the first week back due to being on holiday, I unfortunately
wasn’t able to complete any work during this time and was also
unable to keep active with my blog posts.
Monday 12th I have completed by DPS Written analysis that relates effectively
towards my double page spread for my Hip Hop Double page. I have
used language that effectively links to hip hop artists. I also came back
during my own time to complete my front page for my hip hop
magazine, to a better standard as I felt there were aspects I could
improve in as I am always looking to make my work more
professional. I also completed my first blog post since arriving back
from my holiday as I was behind on my tasks. I have completed my
contents page layout I am just waiting on my pictures to being upload
so I can incorporate them within my page.
Monday 26th January Today I have made progression with my DPS main task in allowing the
brand identity to continue but also to choose eligible fonts and
necessary titles and interviews.
