Management System (LMS)
Introduction
The Savvy Academy™ Learning Management
System (LMS) is designed to present you with
learning opportunities and track your progress.
The materials have been developed to lead you to
you toward success and mastery of the topics
presented.
We hope you will discover areas of your
professional development where you excel and
areas that can use improvement.
Logging In
When you are first enrolled, you will receive an
email with a login link. Please create a unique
password that you can remember!
For future sessions, your login screen will look like
the image at the left. Enter your email and
password, and check the “Remember me” box if
you don’t want to enter it every time you visit the
site.
Click on to enter the portal.
Dashboard
There are three components to the LMS:
Dashboard, Resources, and Catalog.
The Dashboard displays courses in which you have
been enrolled and those you have completed.
It is the default landing place when logging in to the
LMS.
Courses
Note the two tabs that appear under
your Courses: Enrolled and
Completed.
The Progress area indicates whether
you have started the course and your
current status.
Click on View Details for more
information about a course.
Description
When viewing details about a course,
there are three tabs.
The Content tab lists all content that
has been included in the course.
The Description tab lists information
about the course and the Objectives.
The Certs/Credits tab displays any
certifications that will be awarded
upon successful completion.
Launch Course
The course may be launched from the
“View Details” area.
Or, return to the Dashboard, and click
on Launch under the Action area.
Or, simply click on the Title to start
the course from the Dashboard.
Course History
Click on the Completed tab from the
Dashboard to view your completed
courses.
To print a Certificate (if the course
qualifies), click on the print link.
In addition, you may Download Your
Course History by clicking on the link
at the top-right of the Completed tab
on your Dashboard.
Resources
The Resources tab presents materials that can be
downloaded and used for reference at any time.
You do not need to be enrolled in a course to use
these materials.
Quick Reference Guides and Reference Manuals are
included in this area. Managers are also able to
access Instructor Manuals for Classroom Training.
Resources
You may scroll through the list of
Resources, type a search term, or
simply browse by category.
After locating the resource you want,
click on the Download link to open a
read-only copy of the material in your
default browser.
Catalog
The Catalog tab displays an alphabetical
listing of all available courses.
Just as with the Resources, you may
scroll through the Catalog, type a search
term, or simply browse by category.
The View Details link takes you to the
same information discussed earlier.
To move a class onto your Dashboard,
click on Enroll in course.
Comprehensive Exams
A special type of course has been
created to allow you to demonstrate
your knowledge of a range of topics.
Enroll in the course, and it will
automatically appear on your
Dashboard.
Comprehensive Exams
After launching the course, a warning
message appears. If you are not
ready to begin, click on Cancel Start.
Otherwise, click on Start Exam.
Each question is followed by the
course number on which it is based
(see example at left). If you have
difficulty with a question, you should
review that course.
Quick Links
Click on one of the Quick Links in the upper-right
area of the screen to quickly view the Catalog, to
send Messages to the LMS Administrator or view
your Inbox, or to change User Account settings,
such as password or job role.
Messages
New messages appear at the top
of your Dashboard.
If you want to hide a message,
simply click on the X in the upper-
right corner. Once a message is
hidden, you may not be able to
retrieve it again, so make sure you
have read the information!
Branded Portals
With Savvy Academy™ Pro and
Savvy Academy™ ProPlus the
firm’s branding can be applied
to the portal and login screen.
Managers
Based on the needs of the firm,
different roles may be assigned.
While most users will have
standard “Learner” access,
Managers have special privileges
including adding and removing
Learners from the system,
assigning courses, and running
reports.
Instructors
Instructors can facilitate Instructor-
Led courses or perform other course-
specific functions: Status Reports;
Download Rosters; and Update a
Learner’s Status.
The Instructor may also edit the
course content. These options are
only available in the courses to which
the Instructor has been assigned by a
Manager.
Instructor-Led Training Events
The following types of events may be
scheduled:
1. A single class
2. A multi-session course – the learner
must attend all to complete
3. Repetitive offerings of the same
course – the learner may choose
which to attend
4. Blended learning – a combination of
Instructor-Led and web-based
learning materials
Email Notifications/Calendaring
When a learner is enrolled in a
course, an automatic email can be
generated.
If it is an Instructor-Led event, it can
be added to the learner’s calendar
directly from the email message.
Automatic reminders may be created.
Learning Paths
Learners may be assigned a
series of courses that must be
completed in a specific order.
