On the Farm
Unit Plan
Savanna Jordan CI 350
Analyze the Learner
2nd grade students, 9 boys, 11 girls,
100% white. 4 students in the class
have mild to severe ADHD. (attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder).
My students will master the basics of a farm as
well as list the importance of farming after
playing games, doing activities, reading books,
and watching films involving how to farm. By
the end of the week, my students will master the
basics of farming with 100% accuracy.
Objective
Day by Day
Day One: Class discussion “What is a farm?” “Have you ever
been to a farm?” What is on a farm?” Watch Down on the
Farm video and have kids draw some things that they see.
Day Two: Read the book Jobs on a Farm and discuss what
kinds of things can be done on the farm and the kinds of
things they could do on a farm.
Day Three: Ask the kids “What kind of machines are on
farms?” Watch Farm Vehicles and Tractors . Then discuss
each machine and have them draw their favorite one.
Day Four: Discuss and teach the students the basics of how to
farm. Bring in something for them to plant and take home.
Day Five: Have kids dress as farmers and go to local farm.
Again, discuss what a farm is, what can be done on a farm,
and the importance of a farm.
Use of Technology
- Use smart board to project vides.
- Have book from library.
- Bring in materials so students can plant their
crop.
- Print worksheets involving farm animals, plants,
and machines on the farm.
