Motion/Audio/Face detection Motion detection technology built-into WiseNetIII greatly reduced the false alarm rate and greatly improved the efficiency of the operators, by learning what is the normal motion of the scene it can ignore it, such as waves in the sea or the leaf movement of trees. This technology has also been adopted for audio detection, so that the camera will only recognize abnormal noise levels. Face detection is also available and will detect up to 35 faces in the scene, these will be listed on the NVR as separate events for quick recall.

In the majority of scenes viewed by a surveillance camera, only a proportion of the image is of interest to the operator. With the continued increase in resolution and therefore data sizes there is an increased amount of “Wasted Data” created. Samsung’s smart codec technology allow the network cameras to be programmed to capture in greater detail the real ROI, such as moving objects, human faces, doors or windows than the remainder of the scene. This smart codec feature produces lower data sizes while clearly highlighting the ROI.
Previously only seen in analog CCDs, Samsung's new WiseNetIII CMOS sensor now incorporates Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) technology, With enhanced DIS technology, the problems of monitoring using a camera installed on a pole or in windy conditions can be reduced. This also assists in the capture/detection of fast moving car number plates.
Simple Focus, Samsung’s automatic focus technology allows the camera to move the image sensor's position in box cameras, while in dome cameras a motorized varifocal lens with a remote control function will control these adjustments very easily through the network from a remote site without having to visit the installation and open the camera’s housing. Rectangle mask Polygonal mask A privacy mask is a setting that is on selected cameras that allow you block out a certain part of the scene. This is especially useful in areas that have to couple the needs of surveillance with the requirements of privacy and data protection. The polygonal masks allow for the accurate masking of sensitive areas while not infringing on the surveillance sectors.
The WiseNetIII box cameras supports the P-Iris system, which optimizes the iris function when multiple lighting conditions exist in a single scene, this results in images with better contrast, clarity, resolution and depth of field. The optimization of the resolution at both the center and corner of the image, as well as the depth of field and shutter speed, provide increased image sharpness especially effective in megapixel cameras such as the WiseNetIII series.

UPnP and Bonjour are the protocols supported in Windows and Mac operating system. It enables automatic port forwarding so that the operating system can automatically find each network camera, making it easier to integrate a device into a network.
