Sample Process Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Sample Process Essay" may seem deceptively simple, but the
actual process can prove to be more challenging than one might anticipate. The difficulty lies not
only in elucidating the steps involved in a particular process but also in ensuring clarity,
coherence, and engagement throughout the essay.
To begin with, one must meticulously outline each step of the chosen process, providing
sufficient detail to guide the reader effectively. Striking the right balance between conciseness
and thoroughness is crucial. Too much detail might overwhelm the reader, while too little may
leave them confused.
The challenge deepens when it comes to structuring the essay. It requires a well-organized format
that clearly delineates the introduction, body, and conclusion. The introduction should grab the
reader's attention, introduce the process, and present a concise thesis statement. The body
paragraphs should sequentially explore each step, offering clarity through transitional phrases
and maintaining a logical flow. Meanwhile, the conclusion should summarize the process and
leave a lasting impression.
Moreover, maintaining the reader's interest is paramount. Balancing informative content with
engaging writing style is an art. One must avoid monotony and monotone descriptions, injecting
life into the essay through varied sentence structures, vivid language, and perhaps, even a touch
of creativity.
Proofreading is another facet that adds to the complexity. Ensuring grammatical accuracy, proper
punctuation, and consistency in style demands a keen eye. It's crucial to revise the essay multiple
times to refine and polish the writing.
In conclusion, while the topic might seem straightforward, crafting a compelling "Sample Process
Essay" demands a thoughtful approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to effective
communication. It's a task that requires not only knowledge of the process but also skill in
presenting it in an engaging and coherent manner.

Stanley Kubbrick Essay
Stanley Kubrick: When It Comes To Cinematography
Cinematography is the art of making a motion picture. Cinematographers are also
given the title; Director of Photography. The DOP s make sure that every single
shot, fame, sequence looks and feels like art. Stanley Kubrick made sure that him and
John Alcott, his cinematographer, that his movies were art. Kubrick once stated, The
screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can retain interest as it conveys
emotions and moods no other art form can tackle. (Kubrick)
There are many art forms and many ways they can interpret different emotions.
Whether it is dancing, singing, painting or photography; movies can connect all those
art forms in one and still make you feel the same emotions and the same natural
expressions you feel when presented with an art piece. What Stanley Kubrick was
really able to accomplish was making you feel all the emotions and ... Show more

Those movies are famous for having directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Henry
Hathaway, and Orson Welles to lead them to a well aimed production. Kubrick had
the chance to grow and motivate himself with these famous directors, and pursue
his passion of directing. In the 1950 s Kubrick saved up his money and shot the
documentary Day of the Fight, a based pictorial for Look Magazine. With the start

released The Killing and Killer s Kiss, Hollywood took notice in his
accomplishments. In 1957 he went on to direct Paths of Glory and then in 1960 he
took over the production of Spartacus. It is said that on the set of Spartacus,
cinematographer Russell Metty would complain to producers that Kubrick was
taking his job, Kubrick s response was for him to sit there and do nothing. Metty
went onto win an Academy Award for his cinematography in
Canada s Sovereign And Morally Just Approach
Canada has been highly involved in global issues and has held itself on moral
grounds, despite some opposing influence. Canada s sovereign and morally just
approach can be seen in many events in the 20th century, such as in the Second
World War, the Korean War, the Suez Crisis and the Vietnam War. As well, Canada
s imperfect, yet improving immigration policy displays the acceptance and
unbiased approach Canada has towards people of different backgrounds. Despite
some minor missteps and impediments, Canada would make an excellent choice
for UN Advisor Country for the reason that Canada has spearheaded much global
intervention, especially for such a small (population wise) and unassuming country.
The Second World War was an important event in Canadian history, turning an
unobtrusive country on the outer edge of global affairs into a critical player in the
20th century s most important struggle. The Canadian Prime Minister of the time,
William Lyon Mackenzie King was hesitant to join the Second World War due to
the devastating effects of the first war still being fresh. Canada took all variables
into account and launched Canada into the war very well, with a primary focus on
the manufacturing duties of the war. Notably, Canada carried out a vital role in the
Battle of the Atlantic, allowing goods produced in Canada to pass the ocean and
neutralize threats by German U boats. In addition, Canada played a big role in the
air war over Germany and contributed forces to the campaigns
I Am Interested At The University Of Florida
1.Here at the University of Florida I am majoring in Economics. This field interests
me because I have always had an analytical mind which is needed in the economic
field. A main component of the field is to be able to problem solve as well as to
use analytical skills in order to make decisions. This aspect has always interested me
because I find myself able to think clearly when analyzing and interpreting data.
Though, I enjoy challenging myself which occurs often in the process of problem
solving. I also am interested in the field due to the many job opportunities that the
major presents because I value having options. There are a variety of jobs ranging
from corporate to small business and even government based where titles include
analyst, consultant, economist and research assistant.
2.Five years from now in my professional future I will just be beginning my career
in the business field hopefully with an economic specialty. I hope to be starting a
job where I can begin to obtain credibility through my work ethic and interpersonal
skills. Through this job I hope to achieve upward mobility in the company I am
working for and not be threatened by a glass ceiling. The company I see myself
working for is the Central Intelligence Agency as an economic analyst. Yet, I always
have a backup plan, so in five years I could also ideally see myself working for
Boeing as an economic analyst sales support.
3.Before I graduate I need to gain a substantial amount of experience to
William Sims Bai Ateman s View Of Religion
this article Stranger in a strange land by William Sims Bainbridge, he give his story
on how he view religion. He view religion as a status. A person who do not believe
in religion are treated different from these who follow religion.
William Sims Bainbridge is from a family of religious people and was token to

Bainbridge stood for what he believe in and follow his own principles. I can relate
to the Bainbridge because, there was a time I was treated different because I had
different believe in something. I believe that being completely honest and do not lie
is something that people should do. So I was told the truth if it was the good or if it
was bad and people started to hate that I could keep my mouth shut about thing and
lesser people started to hang around me. Bainbridge was influenced by the author
Rodney Stark. Stark worked with Bainbridge on the Stark Bainbridge theory of
religion. They wrote The Future of Religion (1985) and A Theory of Religion
(1987). They both had the same theory that religious connection in terms of rewards

Music Is The Most Popular Genres Of Music Essay
Music has been found in every culture in present time, as well as in the past, dating
back almost 55,000 years (citation), with roots in Africa. Music is one of the most
basic art forms and is a way of life for many; a means of expression relative to
emotions, culture, and one s self. Music is all around us and it s hard to imagine
going one day without listening to some variety of music. Music has evolved
tremendously from prehistoric times today, but one thing s stayed the same one
culture s music is influenced by the culture as a whole. The period in history
directly influences the style and genre of music. For example, in the mid 1930 s,
during the Great Depression, Swing music became one of the most popular genres of
music, because it created an upbeat vibe, which created pleasure and happiness that
hadn t been felt due to the Great Depression. Through music, the American population
was able to experience a sense of joy that was otherwise absent during that period in
history. The brainis an astonishing organ of the human body, comprising the majority
of the central nervous system. The brain has great control over functions of the body,
as a whole. The brain allows for thoughts and actions to be executed on a daily basis.
Fundamental functions of the brain include instincts, emotions, behavior, and
concepts (Perlovsky, 2012). Further, the brain constantly develops and transforms,
according to one s environment (nurture vs. nature), behavior, and brain injury.
Life in Colonial America Essay
The Puritans that arrived in America from 1630 to 1649 prompted by religious
persecution made a commitment to the covenant with God, whom had ordered the
puritans to fly into the wilderness , (Reich, 2011, p. 72). This covenant was to bind
all residents tightly together both religiously and socially. Centered on a common
pasture, a village could consist of a meetinghouse, land and multiple family homes
that support the whole group or a city on the hill (Brinkley, 2010, p. 76), (Reich,
2011, p. 72). The social unit, whom was tightly knit in the early years of the
Massachusetts colony, began to strain and many challenges arose as time passed

personal God involved within the individual s lives, the new spirit of the
enlightenment with the importance of intellect (science) and human reasoning.
The old views placed high values on a stern moral code, which taught intellect is
less important than faith became apparent not true (Kupperman, 2000, p. 118).
The enlightenment also suggested that people had control over their lives and
their societies. Therefore, religious toleration in the colonies flourished, there were
so many types of religion it was impossible for the British rulers or puritans of the
day to enforce some sort of code or religious enforcement of an official faith
(Brinkley, 2010, pg. 80 81), (Kupperman, 2000, p. 118). Native Americans were
very important to American history; they were the first people in America (Nash,
2010, p. 13). Native Americans have their own form of governing, vastly different
language, religious beliefs, and dress and for some reason the Natives have been
generally excluded from American success (Nash, 2010, pg. 14 15). This is
especially true when we look at how America put into place the Manifest destiny the
idea that the United States had the God given right and duty to take
Similarities Between Giles Corey And A Fart On Thomas...
Similarities between Giles Corey and I A fart on Thomas Putnam! Giles Corey
said this to the courts while he was accusing Thomas Putnam of taking land from
an innocent man. This quote shows Giles Corey s personality in many ways. His
stubborn and joking manner got his wife accused of witchcraft and eventually led
to his demise. Giles and I have very similar personality traits in that we are
stubborn, hard working, and con men. Both Giles Corey and I show our
stubbornness in many ways. Giles shows his stubbornness by not talking to the
courts. After he was accused he could have easily said yes or no to the courts
questions and not of been tortured. The only words he ever said was more weight.
He was so stubborn that he lost his life. One way I am stubborn is I will never admit
I am wrong. There have been many times where I knew that I was wrong but I was
stubborn and did not admit it. My parents have even taken privileges away from
me because I would not admit I was wrong. I am also stubborn because I hold
grudges. I still have a grudge on my ex best friend from third grade for him getting
my recess privileges taken away.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Giles has been said to spend hours out in the field always working. He owns an
extensive amount of land so he needs to work hard to keep up with it. One way
that I am a hard worker is that I never skip out on school or sports. I have had
perfect attendance in school for the past four years. I would even go to school
when I had pink eye. I also will never miss practice for my sports or sit out even if I
feel terrible. A value that is very important to me is to never quit something that I
start. One time I signed up for a triathlon and the next week I got invited to go with
friends on vacation. I had to miss out because I made a commitment to my
Events Leading For The First World War
Term Paper #2: Events Leading to the First World War There were five foremost
supremacies in the First World War. Those five supremacies were Great Britain,
France, the German Empire, the Austro Hungarian Empire, and Russia. This paper
will be discussing the escalation of imperialism, nationalism, and militarism in the
German Empirethroughout the fifty years leading up to the First World War and
describing how each of these said characteristics led to the German Empire going to
war with and against the other said supremacies.
To start out, imperialism is the arrangement when an influential nation controls and
exploits a colony or colonies. The most communal circumstance for imperialism is
when the imperialist nation inaugurates control over the newfound terrain through
intimidation and force. After the colony or colonies are subjugated, the territory is
then claimed as a colony of the imperialist nation. The imperialist nation is frequently
denoted to as the mother country of the colony or colonies it has taken over. The
imperialist nation gives birth to a new colony, hence the name mother country of the
colony. The colonial governments are functioned by the imperial nation or a
subservient puppet regime. The manifestation of a military power is often positioned
in the colony or colonies to regulate the native inhabitants who justifiably do not
appreciate being taken over , to deal with any insurrections that transpire, and to
dissuade imperial competitors. The
The Novel As Well As The Short Stories Trout
The planet was being destroyed by manufacturing processes, and what was being
manufactured was lousy, by and large. This is a significant theme. Throughout the
course of the work nature is being exploited by the hand of man. In the novel as well
as the short stories Trout writes, the natural world is in constantly being damaged
because of human activity. Vonnegut was an environmentalist and uses this theme to
urge the reader to reflect on their own practices and habits, as well as to question the
sustainability and environmental awareness of the society in which they live. The
demolition of West Virginia had taken place with the approval of the executive,
legislative, and judicial branches of the State Government, which drew their... Show

Negative personal outcome is that he ends up in the asylum. Vonnegut uses this
passage and these themes to urge the reader to question the actions of their
representatives and stay on top of the leadership in their society, such that
everyone may avoid the abuse of power and negative consequences. I hold in my
hand a symbol of wholeness and harmony and nourishment. It is oriental in its
simplicity, but we are Americans, Kilgore, and not Chinamen. We Americans
require symbols which are richly colored and three dimensional and juicy. Most of
all, we hunger for symbols which have not been poisoned by great sins our nation
has committed, such as slavery and genocide and criminal neglect, or by tinhorn
commercial greed and cunning. This passage explains the Western way of life s
need for structure. To function, western society requires a hierarchy of symbols.
Vonnegut chooses to exposition the apple, the American flag, the automobile, gold,
and the football among others, but the passage explains that the apple, much like
gold, is only a symbol because of the meaning that Americans have placed upon it.
It doesn t have any inherent noble qualities, other than the idea of what the apple
represents. The passage is a direct explanation of what Vonnegut is doing, of how he
uses symbols to come back to the concepts of the spread of ideas, racism, patriotism
etc. The passage challenges all symbols by forcing the reader to acknowledge that

Children In Colombia
We all know that children are the future of this world. Because of this, we have to put
serious attention into how we educate them and how we treat them. Many countries
have programs that help children with education and free meals at school so that
children can focus exclusively on their studies. However, such was not the case for
Colombian children during the past 5 years. Many Colombian children died during
this time due to problems with malnutrition.
According to humanium.org In 2011 about 45% of the population of Colombia live
in poverty. The most affect victims of this situation are children. Many children end
up living on the street homeless without the protection of a adult or in some cases

Restaurant Observation Paper
I conducted the field observation in a restaurant named Sakura Izakaya on 30 July,
2015. It is a Japanese ethnic restaurant. Sakura Izakaya is located near an office
building. A shopping center is also within a walk distance of the restaurant. Seen
from the outside, the restaurant is modern with large windows and glass doors.
When I walk in, I find the restaurant is comfortable and looks traditional. The
wooden floor is clean. A waitress welcomes me at the door with Japanese. The first
sight in the restaurant is a bar. The shelves are full of cups, Japanese wine, and
some containers with condiments. The bar, tables, and chairs are made of wood.
The tables in the public dining area are of different size, including tables for two
people, tables for four, as well as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After I seat myself, the waitress serves me a cup of water and presents me a menu.
Everything on the menu is written in English. Each item on the menu has a picture
and its main ingredients. I notice that some Japanese diners are looking at a menu
which is written in Japanese. I guess that there are two editions of the menu. This is
considerate. Main dishes on the menu include sushi, tempura, udon, and sashimi, as
well as seafood and soup. Drinks include famous Japanese Sake and Shochu, wine,
cocktail, and some non alcoholic drink. I order Sashimi, salad, and vegetable
Tempura with rice and mushroom miso soup. When I am waiting for my dishes, I
notice that most of the waiters are young girls, but there are also some male
waiters. The chefs are male Japanese. The service there is good and efficient.
Waiters serve diners with smiles and often refill the cups for diners. Although it is
during the rush hour, they serve quickly. My dishes are presented after about 10
minutes. The dishes look nice with bright colors and delicate layout. The tempura is
crisp and delicious but not greasy. The Sashimi is fresh and
Wound Product Selection Process
Infection control and wound product selection contribute to the wound healing
environment.
It is the hypothesis of this report that infection control and wound product selection
that is based on best practice guidelines, will enhance wound healing in patients.
According to, International Best Practice Guidelines; Wounds International, 2013,
With appropriate and careful management it is possible to delay or avoid most
serious complications . When wound care products are selected appropriately for the
patients wound, and used as instructed, they are very effective. Best practice wound
care requires the nurse to be able to follow infection control guidelines and choose
the appropriate dressing to achieve optimal healing for patients. There are many
dressings to choose from, but failing to correctly assess a wound and chose the right
dressing will delay wound healing, potentially causing further distress to the patient
and create further costs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

dressings more easily assessable, through government funding ensuring products are
more affordable for patients.
Modern day dressings have advanced extensively throughout the past few years,
providing nurses with a wide range of dressings to choose from, all of which provide
a different healing function. This wide selection of wound care products can lead to
confusion, resulting in the wrong dressing selection and inappropriate usage of
products. When choosing a wound dressing it will depend on odour, pain, exudate

The Effects Of E Waste On The Environment
E waste is a significant issue in environmental health. Both scientists and policy
makers recognize the adverse impact e waste imposes on the environment, and they
must work together to undermine the impact. In Guiyu, which is the world s largest
e waste processing village, workers break electronics apart, burn them, or dump them
in acid baths to extract their valuable components, such as copper and gold.
However, these primitive methods, especially when done in an open space, result in
air and soil pollution, as well as endangering various life forms due to the emission of
toxic chemicals into the environment. To remedy the issue, a global agreement
regulating movements and disposal of hazardous wastes between countries must be
reached, for which initiatives like the Basel Conventionand Basel Ban are established.
Ever since the invention of electricity in the 1800s, scientists and engineers have
been developing backbone technologies for various electronic devices today. The
rapidly advancing technology of electronics raises a major concern that does not
only address what devices and appliances to produce next, but it also discusses
where these old electronics go after the introduction of new devices. As defined by
Professor Brett Robinson of the Lincoln University in New Zealand, the term
electronic waste, also called e waste, generally refers to the discarded appliances that
use electricity, such as personal computers (PC), mobile phones, and televisions

Essay on The Author to Her Book by Anne Bradstreet
The Author to Her Book by Anne Bradstreet
In The Author to Her Book, Bradstreet is inundated in indecision and internal
struggles over the virtues and shortfalls of her abilities and the book that she
produced. As human beings we associate and sympathize with each other through
similar experiences. It is difficult to sympathize with someone when you don t know
where they are coming from and don t know what they are dealing with. Similar
experiences and common bonds are what allow us to extend our sincere appreciation
and understanding for another human being s situation. In this poem an elaborate
struggle between pride and shame manifests itself through an extended metaphor in
which she equates her book to her own child.

She says that the child had been by her side until snatched from thence by friends,
less wise than true (line 3). Basically she is saying a trusted person snatched her
work from her without permission to take them to England to be printed. Had it
not been for her brother in law taking her work back to England and getting them
printed they may have never been known. The intimacy and feeling she shares
with her work is like that of a mother and child and that bond was infringed upon
when her work was exposed to public view (line 4). The intrusion of her brother in
law getting her work printed is the cause of feeling that follow. Ironically the next
thing she talks is the shame she has been thrust upon her by not being able to perfect
the work before it was published. This is illustrated in line five where she writes,
Made thee in rags, as to say her work is like a child dressed in rags.
In lines six through nine Bradstreet associates the embarrassment she feels due to
her unperfected work to the embarrassment a parent feels due to an irritable child.
She feels ashamed that the errors were not lessened (line 6) before the work was
printed and refers to it as a rambling brat who is one unfit for light (line 8 9) because
her child was taken from her before she had time to prepare it to go out into the
world. She is

Unless care is taken, alcohol ads targeted to young legal drinkers also may appeal to
those under the legal age. Because of significant constitutional issues, the
Commission continues to recommend enhanced selfregulation to address concerns
about alcohol advertising s appeal to minors.
In addition to self regulation of advertising, a comprehensive alcohol policy also
must address the means by which teens obtain alcohol for consumption. Younger
minors obtain alcohol primarily from noncommercial sources; this social availability
can be addressed by changing adult attitudes about teen use. Changes also are needed
to reduce underage alcohol purchases from commercial outlets, a source of alcohol
for older minors. Support is needed for the efforts of organizations that can conduct
rigorous field studies of the efficacy of alternative approaches to improving
enforcement of minimum age purchase laws.
The Commission will continue to monitor alcohol industry self regulation,
particularly the implementation of the new placement standard requiring that adults
constitute at least 70% of the audience for advertising. Additionally, the Commission
will monitor the effectiveness of thirdparty review programs and will continue to
evaluate new advertising programs that may have undue appeal to underage
consumers.

How Climate Change Affected Canada
Climate change happens when long term weather patterns are refined. It can be
identified in the changes of temperature, winds, precipitation, and other forms of
natural processes. This can occur through many different factors, one being through
human activity. Global warming is one of the main scales used to measure climate
change. For life to be able to continue on Earth, the sun is required. Solar radiation is
reflected back into space, however, small amounts of radiation get trapped in the
Earth s atmosphere, causing a rise of temperature. The atmosphere is composed of
delicate gases, the most important gas being Carbon Dioxide. A main component on
Earth is Carbon, which is released into the atmosphere through many activities, one

Simple Lab Report Essay
Objectives
There were several different objectives for this lab. It introduced the
thermomechanical properties of thermoplastics, and provide familiarity with dynamic
mechanical analysis (DMA) of thermoplastics. These DMA results were interpreted
using time temperature superposition (TTS) and the master curve as a design tool,
this could be used to determine the linear viscoelastic range and observe the creep
behaviour of high density polyethylene (HDPE). Gaining familiarity with dynamic
properties of HDPE was also intended for this lab.
Experimental Procedure
The material used for testing was HDPE. Two sample types were used, one
quenched in water and another cooled slowly at a rate of 1В°C per minute.
All testing was carried out using DMA with a cantilever setup. Two different tests
were carried out. For the first test, the HDPE was held at a constant temperature of
31В°C and varying stresses were applied for two seconds at a time, during which the
strain in the sample was recorded.
For the second test, a constant stress of 5MPa was applied while the temperature was
increased inside the furnace of the DMA setup. This was achieved by heating the
sample to one temperature for 10 minutes and holding at that temperature while the
constant stress was applied, then heating again and holding, and so on. Strain was
again recorded at constant time intervals for each temperature.

Research Project #2: Porter s Five Forces Applied to the US Auto Industry Ty
Webb State University ECON 600 Dr. Frederic (2.) Abstract This report focuses on
the identification, analysis, and application of Porter s Forces to the United States
automobile industry. The report focuses on the application of Porter s Five Forces
to the industry as a whole, and is broken down into the individual applications of
each force. Sources used in the production of this report are drawn from many
disciplines and range from encyclopedia based data, government reports, widely
published periodicals, to industry opinions. The goal of the report is to give the
reader a clear concise understanding of the US auto industry and a general picture of

These figures probably come as no surprise by current market standards and
expectations; however, these figures also suggest and demonstrate an important
shift in the US auto industry in general. No more are the days of the Big Three and
their dominance of the market without foreign influence and challenge. The US
auto industry is alive and thriving with an abundance of oversea firms and
production that has captivated and elevated the consumer auto market
domestically and will continue to do so for the foreseen future. (3.3) Market
Structure The current structure of the US auto industry is a who s who of Fortune
500 companies, with long track records of success, and gold mines of innovation.
The current market structure in place has many of the same foundations as the
industry of the pre World War II era, with some important foreign additions from
Japan and other countries ( Markets Data Center , 2011). In 2010, over 28
automobile firms registered sales within the United States. The total number of
foreign firms doing business in the US was 25. To make the point more saliently,
90% of all firms selling autos within the US are from foreign soil. This number is a
stark contrast to what the industry looked like in the pre World War II era, and is
probably hard to imagine for the average consumer. However, the top producers in
the US market
Track And Field Research Paper
Track and field is an extremely unique sport. Unlike most other sports, track and field
is an umbrella for the many events it includes. Track and field has a very long history
and inclusive evolution. Since the beginning of its modern history, spectators have
adored cheering on their favorite runners, jumpers, and throwers.
The elements of track and field are long distance, short distance, and the field evets.
The sprinting or short distance events include the 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter,
800 meter, relay races, and hurdles races. Long distance events include the marathon,
which is 26 miles, the 5,000 meter, 10,000 meter, 1,500 meter, and walking events,

Difference Between Orwell And The English Language
There are many opinions and thoughts when it comes to how individuals think the
English language should be used. This is because there is not a standard approach to
teaching the concepts of the English language. Many people base their style of
writing off what they feel is important and what their teachers taught them over the
years. Orwell s thoughts on the English language are something all teachers should
consider talking about in their classrooms. This is because Orwell s thoughts bring up
different ideas about some of the ways the current English language is being used that
are not usually thoughtof. In my experience I was taught ways that were almost
opposite of Orwell. One difference in my experience and Orwell thoughts is the use of

As a result of using the simile or metaphor to often they are losing their true
meaning and adding unnecessary words to their writing. A second difference in
Orwell s thoughts and the current English language is the use of creative
sentences and words. In the current English language writers try to add creative
words and sentences to their writing, but these words are just making their work
vaguer. If these words were used less sentences would be simpler to understand
and have more meaning. We also see some speakers add creative words and
complex sentences to their speech if they don t want to provide a clear response.
The third difference between Orwell s thoughts and the way I was taught is the use
of familiar phrases. In the current English language we say phrases that we hear
frequently because we heard someone else use it which is similar to the way I was
taught. Many times the writer is using these phrases because it doesn t require a lot
of thinking, but using them makes the writer look lazy. These are some examples on
how the current English language could change for the better if Orwell s thoughts are
taught in classrooms of all

Seeing Clearly People often say one must distance them self in order to see more
clearly, but have you ever wondered how true this saying is? How much do we
really miss by being so close and involved? How aware are we of our flaws as
humans? Gulliver s Travels, written by Jonathan Swift, follows Lemuel Gulliver on
numerous journeys on and around the high seas. After Gulliver s original business in
England fails he starts his career as a surgeon on a ship. After several unlucky events
Gulliver finds himself on a string of adventures. Through Swift s satirestyle of
writing and Gulliver s unique character, they show just how oblivious one can be to

Comparing Journey, North Coast And The Meatworks
Discoveries are everywhere in everyday life and they can impact the way we see
the world, either positively or negatively. Because of this, it can be noted that Not
all discoveries are welcomed . We can explore this philosophy through the
examination of various techniques found within both Robert Gray s Journey,
North Coast and The Meatworks , as well Leo Matsuda s animated short film, Inner
workings . These three texts, although all having visual processes of discovery,
offer juxtaposing perspectives on the acceptance (or lack of) towards discoveries.
Discoveries can be confronting and provocative. From this, we can be exposed to
disturbing images that make us question our societal values. In The Meatworks ,
Gray quickly establishes this unwelcoming nature of discoveries through the
explicitly derogatory description of the abattoirs processes and it s accompanied
workers. This is evident through the use of provocative imagery in arm thick
corkscrews, grinding around inside it, meat or not . From this depiction, we are
exposed to the merciless treatment of the of the +pigs as they lose their identity. The
fact that the machine never stops grinding whether there is meat in there or not
denotes such a sense of insensitivity towards the process, causing the reader to feel
distressed and guilty of the slaughter. A degree of insensitivity is also presented to the
reader through the recurring motif of blood, an idea that is central to the poem.

A Brief Note On Electrical Discharge Machining ( Edm )
CHAPTER 2
2.LITERATURE SURVEY
2.1Introduction
Literature review is one of the scope studies. It works as guide to run this analysis.
From the early stage of the project, various literature studies have been done.
Research journals, books, printed or online conference article were the main source in
the project guides.
Literature review section work as reference, to give information and guide base on
journal and other source in the media. We are broadly classified all the paper into
five different category, i.e. paper related to Electrical discharge machining(EDM),
material related (workpiece or tool), some paper related to the effect of input
parameters on (MRR,TWR and SR), dielectric fluid and the effect of flushing.
2.2Electrical discharge machining (EDM)
It is a process that is used to remove metal through the action of an electrical
discharge of short duration and high current density between the tool and the
workpiece [18 19]. (EDM) is a non traditional type of precision processing using an
electrical spark erosion process between the electrode and the working piece of
electrically conductive immersed in a dielectric fluid [20]. Since it has more special
gains, the (EDM) has been widely applied in modern metal industry for producing
complex cavities in moulds and dies, which are difficult to manufacture by
conventional machining. The use of (EDM) in the production of forming tools to
produce plastics mouldings, die castings, forging dies etc., has
Queer Theory Case Study
Queer theory was developed by Judith Butler in her post modern feminist text,
Gender Trouble: feminism and the subversion of identity (Horitar, 2015). She
discussed the role that gender and sexual orientation play in the way in which
society uses the concepts in order to place individuals in a specific category on the
basis on how they behave (Guantlett, 1998; Horitar, 2015). This theory examines the
diverse ways in which current beliefs serves to reintegrate societal anticipations of
genderidentity, appearance and sexuality, it also offers a negotiation for the
fragmentation of constructed gender categories (Horitar, 2015).
According to Western society, sex defines your particular gender (feminine or
masculine) which in turn defines your true identity, for example a biological female
is considered to be a women who is anticipated, by the society in which they live, to
be more sensitive and nurturing than a man and who needs a sensual relationship

Queer theory allows us to open our eyes to the various factors that nourish
heteronormativity promotes gender conventionality, heterosexuality, and family
traditionalism as the correct way for people to be (Oswald, Blume Marks,
2005:143) and it also helps us to understand how structural features contribute to
individuals who are permitted over others (Few Demo et al., 2016:75; Oswald et
al., 2005). Queer theory aims to destabilise what people take for granted and allows
them to ask interesting questions about individual s identities (Few Demo et al.,
2016:76). Queer theory can be seen as a radical deconstruction and subversion (Few
Demo et al., 2016:85; Green, 2007:28 29), which offers permission to the theorists
using queer theory to imagine the complication of various identities, performativities

Nature Of Human Nature
As the world began to evolve, people traveled and settled constantly trading ideas,
beliefs, and thoughts. This led to the forming of religions, controversial topics, and
debates about the sense of human nature. Nathaniel Hawthorne frequently
incorporated the topic of human nature in his writing. Due to his curiosity and
knowledge of his ancestral background, Hawthorne wrote books set in puritanical
societies, as a way to incorporate his beliefs which contrast the way his ancestors
lived. He believed that humans are not only capable of sin and hate, but also love. He
trusted in the importance of repentance, as well as, redemption. Hawthorne s opinions
toward flaws in human nature are reflected through the development of his characters
in The Scarlet Letter.
In The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne, himself, is most directly reflected through the
character Pearl. The child, born of sin, relates to Hawthorne as his ancestors are
noted to be involved in the Salem Witch Trials and other historic sinful activities.
Pearl evolved as a symbol of change in the society, providing a canvas for
Hawthorne to display his beliefs. Hawthorne developed Pearl as the living
representation of the scarlet letter and as someone who never conformed to society,
much like himself, Not only is she free from repression of this kind, but she
avouches herself the most vivid and active figure of the story. (J. Hawthorne, per. 7).
Pearl imbued romantic characteristics, such as being deeply associated with

The fluffy, snowflake white clouds play tag in the intensely blue sky. The trees

outside the clear, old window of the unnecessarily blue antique house that everyone
assumed was strange. No one assumed anything strange about the house owners
with one daughter, who was naturally spoiled to the core. No one thought anything
about her, or how she had an endless amount of shoes and clothes. Not how she
never wore the same clothes twice, ever, her name was Katie Brooks, her mother s

was Peterson Brooks. Mr. Brooks may not seem important now, but he is, you ll see.

COMPSTAT and the Newark Police Department Essay
The COMPSTAT ( Compare Statistics) system was developed by the New York
Police Department in 1994 and is credited with having a significant impact on the
reduction of major crimes in New York city. COMPSTAT is internationally
recognized as having become an extremely successful tool, incorporating accurate
crimeintelligence analysis methods and streamlining law enforcementmanagement
processes, including the seeding of power to local district commanders. In broad
strokes, COMPSTAT can be described as a series of process used for the collection
and analysis of criminal intelligence data which in turn assists commanders in
developing effective strategies and tactics to combat crime.

DDPIA is a integral part of that process that involves the gathering and analysis of
timely and accurate criminal intelligence information, crime statistics and other data
such as emergency incident and management information, traffic data, and individual
anecdotal information such as routine police reports. Criminal statistical information
is crucial to COMPSTAT to enable analysts to structure information in ways that can
assist managerial decision making processes. Through the compilation of a wide
range of data sources it is possible to search for and determine larger patterns and
trends, which in turn allows commanders to make strategic decisions about resources,
manpower, operations, plain clothes operations and beat policing activities.
What changes in strategy have taken place as a result of the implementation process?
The COMPSTAT process has not changed the fundamental approach to policing at
the grass roots level. Traditional law enforcement tactics, which have long been a
staple in police activities across the board, still remain the preferred method for
dealing with crime on the street. However, it is important to note that the DDPIA

Competition between Dr. Who and Supernatural
In choosing between aliens and supernatural beings, the decision might be too
difficult to make. But when it comes to choosing between Doctor Who and
Supernatural , Supernatural is the better of the two. While both shows are good,
Supernatural has more complexity of characters, a better soundtrack, and presents
conflicts better. To evaluate whether a show is worth losing my social life, I like to
take into consideration some factors of the show. The first and most important
criterion is the characters. A show s characters are supposed to be complex, not one
dimensional characters that only serve one purpose. Another criterion is if the
soundtrack heightens the show s enjoyability. A show needs to have a good
soundtrack to enhance the show. The last criterion I use to evaluate a tv series is the
way the conflicts are presented. The conflicts are supposed to be connected but not
be repetitive; if they are too alike then the viewer will get bored. In Supernatural, the
characters are better developed than in Doctor Who; for example, Jo Harvelle. While
in most shows a girl like Jo would have been portrayed like someone who only
thinks about boys, fashion, and other girly things, Supernatural does not portrayed
her like that. In Supernatural , Jo was first introduced as a rebellious teenager who is
always arguing with her mom, Ellen Harvelle, about her future. But unlike other
shows, Ellen and Jo do not argue about whom Jo marries; they argue about whether Jo

Mechanical Engineering And Their Knowledge Of...
Environmental engineers use their knowledge of biology and chemistry to create
solutions to environmental problems. They are associated with controlling water and
air pollution, recycling and ways of improving it, public health issues, and waste
disposal. Environmental engineers evaluate hazardous waste, advise on how to treat
and contain the hazard, and develop regulations on how to prevent mishaps with the
hazard in the future. They design water supply and industrial wastewater treatment
systems, research the impact on the environment a proposed construction project will
have, analyze scientific data, and do quality control checks. Environmental engineers
are concerned with not just local environmental issues, but worldwide issues as well.
They are also involved in the protection of wildlife. Many environmental engineers
work as consultants, help their clients to comply with government regulations,
prevent environmental damage, and clean up hazardous sites and any waste on them.
Mechanical engineers design, manufacture, develop, research, and test machines,

African American History Essay
Slavery began in the late 16th century to early 18th century. Africans were brought
to American colonies by white masters to come and work on their plantations in the
South. They were treated harshly with no payments for all their hard work. In
addition, they lived under harsh living conditions, and this led to their resistance
against these harsh conditions. The racism towards the African Americans who
were slaves was at its extreme as they did not have any rights; no civil nor political
rights. The conditions were worse for the slaves, and they decided to resist in order
to free themselves from the slavery institution. African slaves used various strategies

This helped them to meet, and educate themselves on how to be set free from the
slavery institution. In addition, the slaves also used ways like being ignorant,
malingering, and slow while working so as to free themselves from slavery. In
addition, they could also feign sickness so as not to work and gain relief from the
harsh working conditions. The slaves could do all these in order to be alienated
from their masters, and at least have a rest from the heavy work loads. Some
slaves even used extreme forms of day to day acts like suicide, arson, self
mutilation, and even murder of their masters and mistresses. Slaves could go to an
extent of taking poison, cutting of their fingers, arms, legs, and toes just to avoid
working. They poisoned, injured and murdered their masters in desperate hopes of
getting freedom from slavery, and the harsh treatments they were receiving. The
slaves used rebellions or anti slavery movements as a form of resistance against
slavery. However, the result of slave insurrections was mass executions, and many
of them avoided these rebellions for the fear of being executed. The famous
insurrections in the American history were the Gabriel Prossey s conspiracy in
1800, Nat Turner s Rebellion in 1831, and the Stono Rebellion of 1739. Among these

deviant behaviors. The principal, Mr. Vernon is the antagonist, tries to torment the
kids, giving them a harsh Saturday detention and keeping them ahold in the school
s library. From the beginning of the movie, their differences are shown as they all
dislike each other, causing major conflict. Progressively as they begin to learn from
their differences and communicate, they becomes friends, and some, romantically
interested in each other. Being in the setting of the 1980 s it does show it s time,
having some slight slang from the 80 s and having a stigmatized view of the drug,
marijuana. As a classic throughout generations, this movie has beneficial storytelling
that correlates with society and the societal structure of the 1980 s and even to today
s times. Group dynamic, the way a group of people interact and influence each other,
are prominent in this movie. Their group, though they don t see it as such, starts off
with a commonality, they are all stuck in detention and have to deal with their
Saturday being lost. This commonality still, in the beginning, sets them aside as an
outgroup; their tendencies to be apart from each other and to be silent or else conflict
would erupt is obvious but, as the story progresses and they go through situations

Canada s sovereign and morally just approach can be seen in many events in the 20th century, such as in the Second World War, the Korean War, the Suez Crisis and the Vietnam War. Those five supremacies were Great Britain, France, the German Empire, the Austro Hungarian Empire, and Russia. This paper will be discussing the escalation of imperialism, nationalism, and militarism in the German Empirethroughout the fifty years leading up to the First World War and describing how each of these said characteristics led to the German Empire going to war with and against the other said supremacies. To start out, imperialism is the arrangement when an influential nation controls and exploits a colony or colonies. The most communal circumstance for imperialism is when the imperialist nation inaugurates control over the newfound terrain through intimidation and force. After the colony or colonies are subjugated, the territory is then claimed as a colony of the imperialist nation. The imperialist nation is frequently denoted to as the mother country of the colony or colonies it has taken over. The imperialist nation gives birth to a new colony, hence the name mother country of the colony. The colonial governments are functioned by the imperial nation or a subservient puppet regime. Both scientists and policy makers recognize the adverse impact e waste imposes on the environment, and they must work together to undermine the impact. In Guiyu, which is the world s largest e waste processing village, workers break electronics apart, burn them, or dump them in acid baths to extract their valuable components, such as copper and gold. However, these primitive methods, especially when done in an open space, result in air and soil pollution, as well as endangering various life forms due to the emission of toxic chemicals into the environment. To remedy the issue, a global agreement regulating movements and disposal of hazardous wastes between countries must be reached, for which initiatives like the Basel Conventionand Basel Ban are established. Ever since the invention of electricity in the 1800s, scientists and engineers have been developing backbone technologies for various electronic devices today. The rapidly advancing technology of electronics raises a major concern that does not only address what devices and appliances to produce next, but it also discusses where these old electronics go after the introduction of new devices. As defined by Professor Brett Robinson of the Lincoln University in New Zealand, the term electronic waste, also called e waste, generally refers to the discarded appliances that use electricity, such as personal computers (PC), mobile phones, and televisions (Robinson,

Two different tests were carried out. For the first test, the HDPE was held at a constant temperature of 31В°C and varying stresses were applied for two seconds at a time, during which the strain in the sample was recorded. For the second test, a constant stress of 5MPa was applied while the temperature was increased inside the furnace of the DMA setup. This was achieved by heating the sample to one temperature for 10 minutes and holding at that temperature while the constant stress was applied, then heating again and holding, and so on. Strain was again recorded at constant time intervals for each temperature. Results Figure 1 below is an isochronal graph showing the results of creep testing the sample of HDPE

  • 26. Comparing Journey, North Coast And The Meatworks Discoveries are everywhere in everyday life and they can impact the way we see the world, either positively or negatively. Because of this, it can be noted that Not all discoveries are welcomed . We can explore this philosophy through the examination of various techniques found within both Robert Gray s Journey, North Coast and The Meatworks , as well Leo Matsuda s animated short film, Inner workings . These three texts, although all having visual processes of discovery, offer juxtaposing perspectives on the acceptance (or lack of) towards discoveries. Discoveries can be confronting and provocative. From this, we can be exposed to disturbing images that make us question our societal values. In The Meatworks , Gray quickly establishes this unwelcoming nature of discoveries through the explicitly derogatory description of the abattoirs processes and it s accompanied workers. This is evident through the use of provocative imagery in arm thick corkscrews, grinding around inside it, meat or not . From this depiction, we are exposed to the merciless treatment of the of the +pigs as they lose their identity. The fact that the machine never stops grinding whether there is meat in there or not denotes such a sense of insensitivity towards the process, causing the reader to feel distressed and guilty of the slaughter. A degree of insensitivity is also presented to the reader through the recurring motif of blood, an idea that is central to the poem. Stench of blood...chomping
  • 27. A Brief Note On Electrical Discharge Machining ( Edm ) CHAPTER 2 2.LITERATURE SURVEY 2.1Introduction Literature review is one of the scope studies. It works as guide to run this analysis. From the early stage of the project, various literature studies have been done. Research journals, books, printed or online conference article were the main source in the project guides. Literature review section work as reference, to give information and guide base on journal and other source in the media. We are broadly classified all the paper into five different category, i.e. paper related to Electrical discharge machining(EDM), material related (workpiece or tool), some paper related to the effect of input parameters on (MRR,TWR and SR), dielectric fluid and the effect of flushing. 2.2Electrical discharge machining (EDM) It is a process that is used to remove metal through the action of an electrical discharge of short duration and high current density between the tool and the workpiece [18 19]. (EDM) is a non traditional type of precision processing using an electrical spark erosion process between the electrode and the working piece of electrically conductive immersed in a dielectric fluid [20]. Since it has more special gains, the (EDM) has been widely applied in modern metal industry for producing complex cavities in moulds and dies, which are difficult to manufacture by conventional machining. The use of (EDM) in the production of forming tools to produce plastics mouldings, die castings, forging dies etc., has
  • 28. Queer Theory Case Study Queer theory was developed by Judith Butler in her post modern feminist text, Gender Trouble: feminism and the subversion of identity (Horitar, 2015). She discussed the role that gender and sexual orientation play in the way in which society uses the concepts in order to place individuals in a specific category on the basis on how they behave (Guantlett, 1998; Horitar, 2015). This theory examines the diverse ways in which current beliefs serves to reintegrate societal anticipations of genderidentity, appearance and sexuality, it also offers a negotiation for the fragmentation of constructed gender categories (Horitar, 2015). According to Western society, sex defines your particular gender (feminine or masculine) which in turn defines your true identity, for example a biological female is considered to be a women who is anticipated, by the society in which they live, to be more sensitive and nurturing than a man and who needs a sensual relationship with the ... Queer theory allows us to open our eyes to the various factors that nourish heteronormativity promotes gender conventionality, heterosexuality, and family traditionalism as the correct way for people to be (Oswald, Blume Marks, 2005:143) and it also helps us to understand how structural features contribute to individuals who are permitted over others (Few Demo et al., 2016:75; Oswald et al., 2005). Queer theory aims to destabilise what people take for granted and allows them to ask interesting questions about individual s identities (Few Demo et al., 2016:76). Queer theory can be seen as a radical deconstruction and subversion (Few Demo et al., 2016:85; Green, 2007:28 29), which offers permission to the theorists using queer theory to imagine the complication of various identities, performativities and
  • 29. Nature Of Human Nature As the world began to evolve, people traveled and settled constantly trading ideas, beliefs, and thoughts. This led to the forming of religions, controversial topics, and debates about the sense of human nature. Nathaniel Hawthorne frequently incorporated the topic of human nature in his writing. Due to his curiosity and knowledge of his ancestral background, Hawthorne wrote books set in puritanical societies, as a way to incorporate his beliefs which contrast the way his ancestors lived. He believed that humans are not only capable of sin and hate, but also love. He trusted in the importance of repentance, as well as, redemption. Hawthorne s opinions toward flaws in human nature are reflected through the development of his characters in The Scarlet Letter. In The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne, himself, is most directly reflected through the character Pearl. The child, born of sin, relates to Hawthorne as his ancestors are noted to be involved in the Salem Witch Trials and other historic sinful activities. Pearl evolved as a symbol of change in the society, providing a canvas for Hawthorne to display his beliefs. Hawthorne developed Pearl as the living representation of the scarlet letter and as someone who never conformed to society, much like himself, Not only is she free from repression of this kind, but she avouches herself the most vivid and active figure of the story. (J. Hawthorne, per. 7). Pearl imbued romantic characteristics, such as being deeply associated with

COMPSTAT is internationally recognized as having become an extremely successful tool, incorporating accurate crimeintelligence analysis methods and streamlining law enforcementmanagement processes, including the seeding of power to local district commanders. DDPIA is a integral part of that process that involves the gathering and analysis of timely and accurate criminal intelligence information, crime statistics and other data such as emergency incident and management information, traffic data, and individual anecdotal information such as routine police reports. Criminal statistical information is crucial to COMPSTAT to enable analysts to structure information in ways that can assist managerial decision making processes. Through the compilation of a wide range of data sources it is possible to search for and determine larger patterns and trends, which in turn allows commanders to make strategic decisions about resources, manpower, operations, plain clothes operations and beat policing activities. What changes in strategy have taken place as a result of the implementation process? The COMPSTAT process has not changed the fundamental approach to policing at the grass roots level. Traditional law enforcement tactics, which have long been a staple in police activities across the board, still remain the preferred method for dealing with crime on the street. However, it is important to note that the DDPIA process
  • 32. Competition between Dr. Who and Supernatural In choosing between aliens and supernatural beings, the decision might be too difficult to make. But when it comes to choosing between Doctor Who and Supernatural , Supernatural is the better of the two. While both shows are good, Supernatural has more complexity of characters, a better soundtrack, and presents conflicts better. To evaluate whether a show is worth losing my social life, I like to take into consideration some factors of the show. The first and most important criterion is the characters. A show s characters are supposed to be complex, not one dimensional characters that only serve one purpose. Another criterion is if the soundtrack heightens the show s enjoyability. A show needs to have a good soundtrack to enhance the show. The last criterion I use to evaluate a tv series is the way the conflicts are presented. The conflicts are supposed to be connected but not be repetitive; if they are too alike then the viewer will get bored. In Supernatural, the characters are better developed than in Doctor Who; for example, Jo Harvelle. While in most shows a girl like Jo would have been portrayed like someone who only thinks about boys, fashion, and other girly things, Supernatural does not portrayed her like that. In Supernatural , Jo was first introduced as a rebellious teenager who is always arguing with her mom, Ellen Harvelle, about her future. But unlike other shows, Ellen and Jo do not argue about whom Jo marries; they argue about whether Jo

The slaves could do all these in order to be alienated from their masters, and at least have a rest from the heavy work loads.
