Sample Of Biography Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of a biography, particularly when the focus is on oneself, can be
a uniquely challenging task. The difficulty arises not only from the inherent personal nature of
the content but also from the delicate balance required to strike between self-reflection and
objective storytelling. One must navigate through the intricate details of their life, carefully
selecting which aspects to highlight and which to omit, all while ensuring that the narrative
remains engaging and coherent.
Additionally, the challenge lies in maintaining a sense of humility and authenticity without
downplaying personal achievements or experiences. Striking this balance is akin to walking a
tightrope, as too much self-praise can come across as arrogant, while excessive modesty may
undermine the purpose of the biography.
Moreover, the process of introspection required for such an essay can be emotionally taxing. It
involves revisiting significant life events, acknowledging personal growth, and, at times,
confronting challenges or setbacks. This introspective journey demands a certain level of
vulnerability and self-awareness that can be both daunting and cathartic.
Furthermore, there's the challenge of presenting the narrative in a way that captivates the reader.
A biography essay should go beyond a mere chronological recollection; it should weave a
compelling story that resonates with the audience. This requires honing not only writing skills but
also a keen understanding of how to transform personal experiences into a universally relatable
narrative.
In conclusion, crafting a biography essay, especially when the subject is oneself, is a formidable
task that demands a delicate balance of self-reflection, humility, and storytelling prowess. It is an
intricate process that requires careful consideration of what to include and exclude, all while
maintaining authenticity and engaging the reader. For those who find themselves grappling with
this challenge, seeking assistance can be a viable option. HelpWriting.net offers a platform
where similar essays and much more can be expertly crafted, providing a valuable resource for
those navigating the complexities of personal narrative writing.

Similarities Between Esther And Judith
In the story of Esther, Esther is able to marry the king and win his heart through her
uncle Mordecai s instructions. The king decided to order the slaughter of the
Hebrew people in response to the claims Haman made about the Jewish people.
Upon finding out about the law Mordecai instantly goes into a state of mourning and
tells Esther. Once Esher found out she prepared a meal for the king and Haman and
let the king know in the second dinner that she informs the king that she is a Hebrew
and the king grants Esther permission to eliminate the law. Judith s story however is
extremely different, instead judith uses a more straightforward approach. King

Straight Chained Alcohols
Discussion
This experiment set out to investigate the relation between both straight and branch
chained alcohols at various carbon lengths. It was hypothesised that the longest
straight chained alcohol would produce the highest level of enthalpy. It was thought
that branched chained molecules would have weaker attraction forces due to the fact
that they couldn t line up in as a close proximity compared to straight chained
alcohols. Resulting in weaker van de waals forces betwixt the branched molecules.
Thus allowing, a weaker force necessary to break the molecule apart for combustion
(Salters advanced chemistry, 2000). This would then make one assume a smaller rate
of enthalpy compared to straight chained alcohols. However, as seen evidently on the
graph, the branch chained alcohol clearly disproved this ... Show more content on

To further improve this percentage, it is recommended that insulation techniques be
carried out on top of the copper rod conduction method to improve efficiency.
Insulation is important as it further aids in containing the heat produced from
combustion. Further allowing more reliable testing. Testing the enthalpy for control
with just an aluminum can using tert butanol produced a low efficiency of 16%.
While testing again with tert butanol with the copper increased the efficiency by
32.54% above the control. This shows that the insulation/conduction worked. The
method of investigation took into account various variables such as the amount of
water, height of retort stand and so on to further increase the validity of the
investigation. The only thing in the method which would further improve validity
would be to create a way in which to stop the flame from burning right after a five
minute testing period per alcohol. This is because valuable grams of alcohol were
burnt whilst the can was lifted out of the shroud, in order to place the cap back
Cinematic Techniques In Jaws
Throughout this oral i will be reviewing the themes, cinematic techniques and
props. Jaws is based on Peter Benchley s best selling book. Steven Spielberg
transformed this best seller into a horror movie in which scared 95% of people out
of the water. This could have easily been one of those cheesy movies where you can
just tell what is going to happen but the way Spielberg has incorporated the
techniques into the movie is outstanding. Spielberg has used props such as music,
sound effects and he has also used many boats to enhance the effects that the shark
had on the area. The sound producer has used the same Duh na... duh na.... dun dun

In one scene he could have 25 different angles and you wouldn t know because you
would be so interested in whats happening to focus on the angles of the camera. In
the scene where everyone is at the beach there are all the types of camera angles.
Close up is used to show the juxtaposition. In one scene where the camera is close
up on the sheriffs face it shoes tat he is wearing more clothes then everyone else
this shows that he has no intention on going in the water whatsoever. He has a very
grumpy or angry look on his face whereas everyone else on the beach is smiling or
laughing and having a good time and enjoying the water. On two occasions the
sheriff is having a conversation with two people but his attention is o the water
because he can see people swimming in the water and he looks like he s getting
ready to go save someone if someone gets in trouble. A young man is throwing a
piece of wood into the water for his dog to go and fetch. He throws it one last time

There is another part of this scene when there is a close up of a mother whom has
lost her child. Little does she know her son has been eaten by a shark and didn t
survive. She sees something wash up about 25m from her and she realises that its her
sons floating device and she the starts screaming for her
Argumentative Essay On Destiny
What is our destiny? Are human souls sands in an hourglass, or each a dazzling
jewel in a room of wonders? Who writes our destinies? How much of what happens
in our lives does one actually control? The truth is that God writes your future, and
every action you do and happens to you was prewritten.
God has a plan for every single being, and, at the same time, we have plans for
ourselves. One could decide that they will finish high school early and study in a
top University. And they do. But that signifies that God s plan and their plan were
the same. On the contrary, if their plan did not happen, it expresses it wasn t in their
fate. Therefore, whatever does happen, it was still in God s plan. God has written
your destiny, and knows every action you are going to carry out. The logic in this
mindset is that God is the only one who knows your future, and therefore, you
should not be shackled by the imaginative theory of forced destiny. The theory of
forced destiny is rather flawed; destiny is something currently in the making, with
every action you make, so when you consciously make your own decisions, how
can someone else be forcing it? In fact, there is no forced destiny, only the choices
you make that become your destiny. Furthermore, trials that occur in life are all
tests from God, and are to be persevered through with patience. In the excerpt from
The Iraqi War Blog, Faiza Al Araji says, It is a great disgrace that has befallen us, and
everyone makes suggestions and

Whether it s knowledge, integrity, success or accomplishment, being a nurse
stands as a symbol for all. I came from a big family consist of two brothers and four
sisters. As the oldest girl I was often responsible for my younger siblings. I
preferred a career in nursing because nursing is the best career for me. It has taken

IV. Criticisms of Profession
A. In everyday life we face much criticism from the public, not only for the lack of
ability in caring for the sick, but besides for their character, manner and personal
appearance.
B. Some people believe that we pass our medications, then we sit using our phones
and do other thing that s not important.
C. This not the truth because we are the one who keep records, administer
medication, monitor patients, educate people and family and much more. We as
nurses have many duties and responsibilities.
D. General public should appreciate our job because they don t know what we go
through to get the education needed to become a nurse and to maintain current
knowledge.
E. Lastly, our job is to save people s lives, families and communities. We have a
heart to help everyone. We do know once our patient start crying from an illness, we
ought to be the one who holds their hand and once a parent is upset about their sick
child, we ought to be always there to listen and help them calm down, but people

Machine Guns In World War 1 Essay
Machine guns had a extreme impact on World War One, being able to shoot up to
600 small caliber rounds per minute,(Vickers Machine Gun). Machine guns in World
War One allowed for soldiers to fire hundreds of bullets per minute while still
remaining within the trenches. While machine guns were a powerful weapon, the
required lots of development before they were perfect. Machine guns in World War
One changed how it was fought, offensively and defensively. In World War One
many new strategies were developed for the use of machine guns. Pillbox bunkers
were developed to protect the crew of the machine gun but still allow for complete
use of the weapon. Germany made many improvements to their pillboxed during
the end, and after World War One, adding improvements like tunnels and metal
reinforcements, (German Pillbox). Pillboxes played a large role in the use of
machine guns, as there could be a crew as large as ten. Pillboxes played a large role
in the impact of machine guns as a defensive tactic, and largely affected how they...

To allow machine guns to fire continuously without causing damage to the weapon,
water cooling was originally introduced because it could allow the gun to be fired
for longer periods of time, while reducing the amount of wear on the barrel, (Fred).
While water cooled machine guns had lots of benefits, but they required a large
supply of water, and during a battle, supplying water could be a struggle, (Duffy). In
the heat of the moment, it was not unknown for members of the machine gun crew to
cool the gun by, urinating into the jacket , (Duffy). Later, air cooled machine guns
were introduced, allowing for a lighter weapon, but this method of cooling was not
quite as effective, only allowing for short bursts before overheating. Both of these
methods however, did not prevent jamming, but the Vickers machine gun
Bashmatchkin s Pride In The Overcoat, By Nikolai Gogol
In The Overcoat, Nikolai Gogol reveals just how shallow and judgmental humans
are about the appearance and social status of their peers. Bashmatchkin s
coworkers do not respect him. No respect at all was shown him in the department.
The porters, far from getting up from their seats when he came in, took no more
notice of him than if a simple fly had flown across the reception room (762). The
reason for their attitude towards him is because of his appearance. He looks a bit
unkempt in comparison to his coworkers, specifically because of his ratty old coat,
and they see him as being beneath them; they make fun of him because of this. The
young clerks jeered and made jokes at him to the best of their clergy wit, and told
before his face all sorts of stories of their own invention about him (762).... Show

as the dressing gown (765). What his coworkers do not know, is that
Bashmatchkin wears the old coat because he does not have the money to buy a
new one; he struggles for months in order to raise the funds to have a new coat
made. When his new coat is finished and he wears it to work, suddenly everyone
has a change of heart about Bashmatchkin. They all ran out at once into the
cloakroom to look at Akaky Akakievich s new overcoat; they began welcoming him
and congratulating him (771). Bashmatchkin is even invited to a party this same day,
all because he got a new coat. Bashmatchkin goes from being subhuman to his peers,

Urban Stormwater Runoff And Its Effects On The
Environment
INTRODUCTION
Urban stormwater runoff, considered as one of the most significant diffuse pollution
sources in urban areas, can cause water quality degradation leading to environmental,
ecological and health risks to humans and. Many pollutants, such as nutrients, oils,
microbes, metals, solids, and organic contaminants, are transported through runoff
from urban places to receiving water. These pollutants can be present in many
different forms (e.g. dissolved and particulate bound forms), and differ in origin not
only based on the pollutant type but also according to land use type.
IMPORTANCE OF ASSESSMENT OF STORMWATERQUALITY AND
QUANTITY
The detailed assessment of urban stormwater quantity and quality is vital for
evaluating and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Literature reviews have stressed the possibility of evaluating water pollutant
concentrations (mainly for the total suspended solid) using turbidity which can be
very easily monitored continuously. Total suspended solids is one of the most
important water quality indicator because the fine sediment is one of the most
generally present contaminants found in urban stormwater, which also offers a
medium for the build up, conveyance and storage of other pollutants including
nutrients and metals (McCarthy et al., 2012). Nowdays, more and more care has been
paid on uncertainties in water quantity and quality measurements. Earlier studies have
contributed to practices for uncertainty estimates in data from hydrological and water
quality measurements. It is recognized that uncertainty is inherent in data and thus
should always be taken into account in order to make sensible interpretations and
further applications including analysis of data and modeling.
EFFECT OF WEATHER ON STORMWATER RUNOFF AND PARTICULATE
MATTER
Urban runoff quality and pollutant transport mechanisms have been more commonly
studied in warm and temperate climates, where local weather situations and
catchment properties play a key role, but are less understood and evaluated for cold
climates considered by strong seasonal. In warm and temperate climates, much
mechanisms are known about the main hydrological variables that have a great effect
on runoff quality during
Persuasive Techniques In Grant Writing
Grant Writing requires attention to detail, a creative flare, and relationship
building. So many proposals read like a television manual. After the first couple of
sentences the reader wants to groan and set it aside. Foundations want to feel
inspired by your program. But don t over do it. Grantors roll their eyes when you
over hype a project or claim your organization is for the cost of mere pennies,
changing the world . Be honest. Get to the point; tell the foundation the problem you
are going to address and back up your statements with meaningful statistics. Use
creativity to motivate not exaggerate.
Know your audience, all good writing requires identifying your audience. Contact
foundation employees; ask questions, learn what matters
Success Is Within The Individual Mind And Expectations
Success
Success is within the individual mind and expectations. The definition of success
differs from just one person s interpretation of what success means. A large block
of life is spent working to become successful: acquiring an education, being able to
take care of family, achieving a life s ambition, or making money. People are told
throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money.
Everyone aspires to be successful at whatever we are doing: starting a new business,
repairing the car, writing a term paper or practicing basketball. Every bit our efforts
are directed at achieving success. Success is not the end; it is the journey we take
and there is no right or wrong idea of success.
Money is the primary concern for some people and the main ingredient for anyone
who is trying to succeed in life. For this type of person, achieving success starts with
going to a good college to compete in a competitive job market and to prepare
people to take on the world. People work hard to make money so they can satisfy
their desires. People dream about owning a home and take pride in what they
possess. Some need to appear successful in order to feel successful. These people feel
accomplished when they can admire what their hard work has given them.
For some, happiness is all that matters. Happiness is achieved in many ways, and it
does not always involve money. A person can feel successful without a lot of money,
at all. For example, feeling loved is
Comparing The Babylon Myth Of Creation Enuma Elish
And...
When reading the Babylon myth of creation Enuma Elish and Gods story of creation
in Genesis we find that there are many elements of similarity. They both begins with a
universe and that the creation starts by forming the formal universe. In both stories
the universe was full of emptiness and shapelessness of water and by the particular
power the universewas formed and created.
Also we see some differences such as with the Hebrew story of creation God is the
only power that uses his word to order and create everything in the universe, where
is in the Babylonian story there were oppositions between the powers; the power of
fresh water Apsu and the power of the mother sea dragon of chaos Tiamat and the

The Murder Of James Byrd
The murder of James Byrd, the Howard Beach incident, and the shooting in Ferguson
are some of the most infamous racially motivated hate crimes. But, one of the most
important things to note is the violent uproar each of these events caused within the
African American community. In the novel Frankenstein, Mary Shelley illuminates
the effects of racial prejudice by emphasizing the Creature s shift in character as he
is continually rejected by society, the DeLacey s, and his creator. Similarly to
modern day racism, the Creature s hatred towards mankind is fueled by his desire
for acceptance. He is forced into the archetype of The Monster; initially good, turned
against the world by the absence of love in his life.
Ordinary humans are unable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This ignorance breeds fear and hatred in the human race causing the creature to lash
out against humanity, in fear of being rejected and tormented. Personality and
appearance are two very different things; human beings need to distinguish that fact.
This same discrimination appears in today s society, it may not be as prominent as it
was in Mary Shelley s time, nevertheless, it still occurs.
This fear and rejection of the Creature is seen not only in the different people the
Monster encounters throughout his travels, but also in his creator. Frankenstein is
unable to stand the sight of the creature stating, its unearthly ugliness rendered it
almost too horrible for human eyes (Shelley 95). Frankenstein s rejection causes the
Creature to accuse Frankenstein of abandonment: you had endowed me with
perceptions and passions, and then cast me abroad an object for the scorn and
horror of mankind (Shelley 141). The Creature says that he is Frankenstein s
obligation and it is Frankenstein s responsibility to be his essential caretaker.
Although Victor originally cowered in fear of the Creature, the Creature claims he
was initially good and it his Victor s rejection which drives him to violence. The
monster repeatedly lectures Frankenstein on his responsibility, I am thy creature; I
ought to be thy Adam, but I am rather the

been written in 1599, though it isn t known for sure when it was exactly written.
All of his plays have life lessons in them and quotes that we all interpret in our own
way. My quote from this book is The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, But in
ourselves, that we are underlings. (Julius Caesar, 1.2.140 141) In this Act, there is a
conversation taking place between Brutus and Cassius, who are friends. Cassius is

In the play, it talks about the dream that Calpurnia had. She is very worried about
her husband and his safety. In the night she has screamed out they murdered
Caesar . In her dream, she sees a statue of Caesar that has been stabbed and blood
pouring from it. She believes her dream is forewarning her that something bad will
happen if he leaves their home. The night before her dreams, there were reports of
the dead rising from their graves, warriors fighting in the clouds, and comets seen
during the night. She interprets this to mean that it is the sign of the death of a
prince. Calpurnia states When beggars die there are no comets seen; The heavens
themselves blaze forth the death of princes (Julius Caesar, 2.2.30 31) In this
scenario, one would believe that her dreams have forewarned her of the future.
Therefore, the future is told in the stars in a

11 November 2017
The Fight for Gay Rights
63 percent of all surveyed Americans responded in favor of gays when asked if
same sex relationships were morally acceptable, based on a 2017 study (statistica) .
As it is commonly known, gays are people who choose to be in relationships with
members of the same sex. The gay rights movement is the fight in which the
individuals battle for their freedom to advance these relationships whether it is to
marriage or simply so that homophobia does not stand in their way. The gay life style
is seen as morally unacceptable in the eyes of some because of religious or traditional
values (gay rights). Despite the reality that the gay community still copes with
oppression in society, the gay rights movement has made tremendous
accomplishments throughout history, furthering the thinking of the public and
catalyzing awareness of the need for tolerance.
To fully understand how this movement has developed and prospered, it is
important to know the roots of these issues in history. The very first societies to
have dealed with this were the Romans, Greeks, Jews who all had very different
viewpoints on gay rights in the 1500s. The Greeks were not opposed to homosexuality
and dealed with it like it was a natural part of life. This is shown in the way that
Greek art work shows homosexual acts, and Greek writers wrote stories and poems
about it (Oliver 15). Concerning romans, homosexuality was legal in

Statement Of Purpose For MS In Mechanical Engineering
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Learning makes a man fit company for him . This maxim impressed me right from
my childhood days to learn something new each day, learn, learn and relearn until the
end. My decision to apply for MS in mechanical engineering has emerged, both from
my passion for research and my aspiration to understand the concepts of engineering.
MS in Mechanical Engineering can provide me with the platform to further improve
and ultimately refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest. Right from
my childhood, when I started understanding little things I have been fascinated
with the world of the machines that made life easier. My passion for mechanical

Trophic Fishing Imbalances
First, the alarming environmental issue of trophic fishing causes an imbalance in the
ecosystem. To begin, while fishing at the trophic levels of the ecosystem, the
predators of the ocean are overfished. Predators such as salmon and tuna are fished
quite frequently because they are used in dinners around the world. Clearly then, as
the predators rapidly decrease, the primary and secondary consumers overpopulate.
Science News states, We ve eliminated the marine equivalent of lions and wolves and
are moving towards the taking of rats, cockroaches, and dandelion equivalents. (https:
//www.sciencenews.org/) Clearly then, when predators are eliminated, the prey
overpopulate. Without any predators to limit population growth, the prey populations
are able to reproduce. Since these populations are not being hunted, their populations
need to consume more food, so the producers are consumed entirely and eventually
eliminated, as well. In addition to imbalances in the ecosystem, trophic fishingalso
affects fishpopulations.
Next, trophic fishing affects fish populations. Because of trophic fishing, there are
over 75 aquatic species that are endangered as of 2017. ... Show more content on

Obviously nets, buoys, and lines are regularly let loose by fishermen. Ghost nets are
often found throughout the ocean. Ghost nets are fishing gear, that are found drifting
through the ocean. These nets can be extremely harmful towards many species in the
open ocean. However; Many animals mistake plastic debris for food and eat it. This
fills their stomachs with chemicals they can t digest. On the other hand, if the fish do
not eat the debris, most likely they are entangled in it. Whilst they are entangled they
can be severely injured or die. Debris gets caught around the necks of marine life,
which eventually suffocates the organisms. The alarming environmental issue of

Analysis Of Coronary Heart Disease
Coronary heart disease is somehting that develops because of CAD, so there really
isn t a difference in them. It is when your arteries block the supplies that the heart
muscle needs. Arteries carry the oxygen s good blood, witch without this, the cells
would not be able to function properly. Without oxygen, muscle cellswould not be
able to survive and would eventually just die out. The heart only has 2 main
coronary arteries, the right and left coronary arteries. These go off into other arteries
that are smaller than the ones before in order to provide all of the heart muscle with
the oxygen needed. If anything blocks out the artery, oxygen cannot be delivered to
that part of the heart. If it only blocks it partly, the person may experience
A Brief Note On The United States Army Most Soldiers
In the United States Army most Soldiers want to know if they can have trust in
their Non Commissioned Officers , and they can if they are treated right and the
Non Commissioned Officer does what is right and what is legal, at all times.
Soldiers want to know and learn a few things from their Non Commissioned
Officers. They want to know if the are concerned about them or whether the Non
Commissioned Officers focus is up the chain of command and promotion for him

their very existence allows the officers to plan, organize, lead, and direct combat
operations. They have been proving themselves in combat since the Revolutionary
War. Non Commissioned Officers are the ones who are directly responsible for
those beneath them. A lieutenant may have the titular responsibility for the squad

ones that know these men inside and out. Non Commissioned Officers are
responsible for that. He or she provides the Officer with a clear picture of what

The Novel Anthem By Ayn Rand
I.)Introduction
A.Hook: It is a sin to write this. It is a sin to think words no others think and to put
them down upon a paper no others are to see. It is base and evil. It is as if we were
speaking alone to no ears but our own. And we know well that there is no
transgression blacker than to do or think alone.
B.Background: According Equality 7 2521, he is doing something that s bad, he s
breaking a law, an important law that is. We know he s in a world where everything
is controlled and restricted and one is not free to be alone nor to do what they want.

The Screwtape Letter
Have you ever wondered how demons try and lead us away from God and begin to
sin? In the Screwtape Letters C.S Lewis shows us how a demon named Screwtape
guides his nephew Wormwood on how to make sure their patient stays away from
Christianity. The Screwtape Letters is an Epistolary novel that was written during
World War II. In this novel God is considered The Enemy and Satan is Our Father.
The main characters in this novel are Wormwood, Screwtape, and the patient.
Screwtape is a demon who writes his nephew Wormwood from hell. Screwtape
teaches his nephew the different steps of keeping his patient away from God.

He does this because Wormwood wants the girlfriend to feel like she s not good
enough for the patient. Eventually the patient loses the love of his life because he
she was convinced that she didn t deserve him. Screwtape also believes that instead
of waiting until marriage to have sex, a person should be able to do it whenever
they feel like it. Eventually at the end of the book the patient dies but he is sent to
Heaven. Wormwood wasn t successful in turning the patient away from Christ.
Screwtape is turned into a larger centipede for failing to convince his nephew to
convince the patient to leave God .The theme of this novel is would be to try and
prove that Christianity will always prevail. Even though as Christians our faith is
tested everyday we should just persevere and know that God is with us. Even
though Screwtape was evil he was also very wise. Screwtape knew exactly what to
do in order to lead the patient down the wrong path. Whenever a person is suffering
Screwtape says that it feels like I had a rich buffet. Screwtape basically lives of
people s daily suffering. Wormwood is easily persuaded, whatever his uncle tells
him to do to the patient it would get done. He s also easily excited, whenever the
Europeans went into a second war he was delirious with joy. But Screwtape had to
teach him not to get joyful so fast. Finally, the patient would be described as a person
who is easily influenced. Throughout the novel you notice that whatever wormwood
tells him to do it would be done. He believed that the things he was doing would
benefit God, but it was actually benefiting Satan. But in the end Satan lost because
the patient went to Heaven to be with our Father in Heaven. In the end Christianity
still beat Satan and the patient is happy in
The Wolf Of Wall Street Essay
I have to admit, it is an odd choice but yes, I have decided to break through the
ethics out of a completely unethical film. I will be discussing my own thoughts and
perspectives revolved around the movie, from reasons and circumstances that
leads to an unethical life, to outcomes of it and much more. The Wolf of Wall
Street is a black comedy, dramatic film featuring the great Martin Scorsese as a
director, starring Leonardo Di Caprio. Leonardo Di Caprio plays the role of Jordan
Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street . The movie is set in the 1980 s 1990 s, handling a
true story, the story of the successful smart nasty Jordan Belfort. Jordan is a
stockbroker who started the path by selling penny stocks then evolving to become
and I repeat again The Wolf of Wall Street . The movie begins by giving us the idea
of Jordan as a dreamer that goes to Wall Street to find a job in the stock market.
Jordan was born to a middle class family of 2 accountants, Jordan is young,
married, and knows exactly what he wants. Jordan finds a job as a communicator
in Wall Street in L.F Rothschild , soonly influenced with his boss Mark Hanna who
turns him over to the stockbroker attitude of self profit only and turning customers
profit of stocks into buying other stocks (money on paper but not in hand, more
profit to the broker). Suddenly his company falls down and Jordan is jobless again.
Thus he finds a new job at boiler room brokerage where he sells penny stocks getting

Beauty And Beauty In Frankenstein
Beauty is pain. It is a common thought and a pervasive one for not only do people
define beauty by the amount of suffering a person undergoes but goodness is defined
similarly. The two concepts are inextricably related. Studies have shown beautiful
people are perceived as of good character while those ugly and deformed seem
inherently mischievous and untrustworthy (Dorsey). Yet, everyone has at one time or
another met an individual whose beauty is only superficial. Admittedly, this natural
instinct toward prejudgment is difficult to control. Examples of individuals violating
these instinctual rules of beauty and morality fill the pages of Mary Shelley s
Frankenstein. Indeed, in her novel, Shelly recognizes and accentuates humanity s
prejudice toward ugliness in order to contrast with her personal definitionof beauty
one that recognizes virtue as the basis of beauty regardless of physical form so that
her theme, that humanity is less above the beast in virtue and intelligence then it
believes, is revealed. In a novel that is quite brimming with depictions of horrid acts
of violence and mental agony, it is surprising how much time is spent describing
beauty. Quite often as an escape from said agony, Victor, the eponymous protagonist,
strolls through the nature surrounding his Genevois dwelling. The oft visited nearby
lake is described by Victor as a scene so beautiful and heavenly (Shelley, 95) before
he considers drowning himself in that peaceful body. To describe a
How I Reflect My Academic Writing History
Task 1. When I reflect on my academic writing history, I can vividly remember the
name of the people that shape my attitude, belief or emotion about writing. It all
began, when I was in 6th grade. My teacher at the time, Mrs Postma, would gave us
spelling quiz on Fridays. At first, I hated it so much because for one, I just came
straight from Togo, and secondly, I m just starting to learn English words. The
words she would quiz us on are words that we had spent the week learning.
Sometimes, she would give us hints on difficult words, but still I was struggling to
understand those hints. We did this twice in every month for the entire year. At the
end of the school year, my view on these vocabularies changed. I enjoyed the quizzes
and began speaking fluently in English by the end of the year. A couple years later, I
started high schooland during my freshman year, my teacher, Mrs. Sisco would
have us turn in a book report every week. She would challenge us and she grades
hard; it is not easy to get an A in her class. Because of this, I always work hard to
write well so that I could get A, but I never seem to get it until the second semester
of my freshman year. Mrs. Sisco is one of those teachers that shape my attitude on
writing. She did not let me get A with anything I turned in. Although I m not best at
writing yet, I know I would not be where I am in writing today without her critics,
challenges and of course the help of God.

Numbers In Macbeth
Shakespeare is known throughout the world for amazing work, he is known for
begin English poet, playwright, and actor. One of the things that are astonishing
about him would his plays some of the most famous ones would be Macbeth, Hamlet,
and, of course, the infamous Romeo and Juliet, but what makes his work more
astonishing would the usage of symbols and numbers that seem to appear in ever
play we read. Shakespeare tends to use numbers and symbols throughout Macbethfor
example and express in more detail his usage of symbols and numbers would be the
usage of blood and darkness and the number 3. What is the reason why Shakespeare
uses these type of motifs in Macbeth?

Numbers are also another form of symbols they might not have a strong impact on
this play at all, but Shakespeare tends to use the number 3 a lot, but when we tend
to read we overlook or we don t knownlogic these so call number reference they
may be small detail, but usage of the number 3 is clear and very well placed. The
number three is also used in the Bible there are many moments in the that we
clearly see the used of three, for example, the Bible states Jesus prayed three times
in the Garden of Gethsemane before his arrest and it also states Three is the number
of resurrection. Christ was dead for three full days and three full nights. There are
also other numbers that the Bible uses like for example the number 6,7,12 also have
a significant impact on life. In Macbeth we see some references to three there
redundant, but they are used for example the book starts off with introducing the
three witches aka creepy sisters that tell Macbeth future and also throughout the book
they re three murders in which Macbeth is amused to be main suspect those murders
of which would be the death of Banquo, Lady Macduff and Duncan. Some people
tend to believe that bad luck comes in three. Which can be superstishes, but everyone
has their own
7 Deadly Sins In Canterbury Tales
In the prologue to Geoffrey Chaucer s epic Canterbury Tales, readers are
introduced to the 30 characters which make up a large group of pilgrims on their
way to Canterbury, supposedly to see the Church of the Martyr Thomas Becket.
The Host of the pilgrimage gives all the pilgrims a challenge over the course of the
pilgrimage, tell two tales each way to and from Canterbury, and those with the best
stories will be brought dinner at the expense of all the others. It is evident as the
stories begin to flow forward and the characters are being described, that they all
aren t truly there to be blessed in the presence of Thomas Becket s church. In fact, all
of these characters represent the seven deadly sinsin one form or another, which was a

Unlike many sins which can be concealed within the text such as the pride of the
Knight, Lust cannot be concealed and is very present when reading through the
description of any of the characters exhibiting the sin. For example, within the
Friars passage, Chaucer states that this Friar had arranged full many a marriage Of
women young, and this at his own cost (Lines 212 213). Obviously no effort has
been done into concealing this sin at all, perhaps this is because Chaucer simply
doesn t view this sin as being terrible, and simply as being a part of life. He is
further stated as being with all the worthy women of the town , showing that he is not
the only one partaking in this sin, but all those around him who are with

Network Security And The Security
Hospital Network Security With a multitude of changes occurring in the technology
field, it is critical that hospitals maintain the highest levels of security for their
internal network as well as their public access network. Hospitals contain vital
information about patients, treatment styles, employees and staff, as well as
pharmaceuticals that are kept on the premises. The importance of protecting this
information cannot be understated and a breach in securitycould cause a breakdown
in all areas of the network, having a catastrophic effect on the entire hospital. One of
the most important aspects of network security is a strong network security model.
The network security model consists of seven layers that work together to provide
the strongest possible security for the network. The seven layers are the physical
layer, the vlan layer, the software layer, the user layer, the administrative layer, and
the IT department layer. A network security model that is well thought out and
designed allows the network security team to analyze and maintain the network and
determine if there has been a breach and the location of the breach. The first layer of
the network security model, the physical layer, pertains to physical security. This
entails the prevention of a physical attack on servers and other devices connected to
the network. The physical layer is one of the most important layers of protection
because if it is breached, the layers beneath it will

The attempt to unite urban workers and farmers into a mass movement for economic
reform had failed. Progressivism began in the early 1900s. It had roots in several
earlier movements such as the Liberal Republican and the Mugwumps. Progressivism
centered in cities. Progressives were middle class and well educated. Progressives
stayed in the political mainstream. They aimed not to remake American society, but
to merely make the existing system work better and to do this they were willing to
make compromises. Progressivism offered the middle class, business leader, and
farmers a safe reform. By 1900 the American economy was strong. As a result
people of all classes felt more confident and more willing to compromise.
Progressives made city and state governments more democratic. They also tightened
regulations on business. For Progressives, honest and efficient government was an
important goal, but not the ultimate one. They saw government as a tool to be used
to promote the welfare of all citizens. Regulating business was, for both city and state
governments, a major part of that task. Progressives passed more laws aiming at
protecting various groups, especially children. The Populist and Progressives had
many similarities. What the Populist fought for the Progressives continued on

been profoundly influenced by various aspects of spirituality and religious practice.
Functionalist View On Prostitution
To begin, I believe that society defines when lifestyle choices become social
problems. Society can be defined as an organized group of people that are
associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political,
patriotic, or other purposes (Dictionary Reference. 2015). Individuals develop their
own opinions about certain social problems. This results in people forming groups
based on their opinions and these groups are known as society. An example of
society determining what a social problem is would be prostitution. Prostitution
can be considered a social problem because society has such a diverse view on it.
Functionalists believe that the existence of such deviance is needed in order to
produce stability in society (Kendall, D. 2012). Functionalists believe that
prostitution allows people to engage in sexual practices and benefits the economy
by creating jobs for people with limited education and job skills (Kendall, D. 2012).
The symbolic interactionist believes that prostitution is a business deal that provides
women with a way to earn money while satisfying other people s needs. The conflict
perspective believes that prostitution should be decriminalized because individuals
are participating in this act by free will (Kendall, D. 2012). Others may believe that
prostitution is immoral and should be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the line and creates problems for individuals because individuals are being forced to

The four controls for a turbiditie sequence to form are tectonic activity, climate,
sedimentary processes, and sea level fluctuations. The mass of the bolide that
impacted the Yucatan Peninsula would have been large enough to irritate the
plates, and possibly catalyze their movements. The suggested size of the bolide is
around 180 kilometers. The climate of the time can be closer examined by
checking the paleontology of rock layers found before and after the K T boundary.
Sedimentary processes and sea level fluctuations could have taken a huge turn, due
to the fact that an unexpected large extraterrestrial body crashed into the Yucatan
Peninsula. It is also suggested by geoscientists that a tsunami about 50 to 100
meters high hit the coast of Texas, which resulted in an unconformity near Brazos
River, Texas. The two major end members of a turbidite are coarse grained to sand
rich and then fine grained to mud rich. These two end members are important
because they are used in order to examine submarine fans. Submarine fans can be
geological clues as to what was going on in a particular layer of
Essay On Fitness Club
You would like to join a fitness club but there are so many choices! And then you
will just end up having a headache! Fitness clubs are effective motivators. They
should motivate us and not frustrate us. Before you choose on a fitness club, make
sure that it suits your needs and goals. And before you do that, you should first learn
and decide on what is your priority. By then, you will know what you really need in
a fitness club. Here are some guidelines you can consider in choosing a fitness club
that is best for you:
1. Where is it located?
The location is the first thing that you should consider when finding a fitness club. If
the club is far from your home, you will just another excuse not to work out. It is
best to find a facility that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you see a lot of out of order signs, it could be something to think about. Modern
equipments are safer and more comfortable to use, so you may also want to consider
that. Are the floors cleaned regularly to avoid accidents? Is there enough room for
everyone? Also check if the facility is located in a place away from danger, consider
also if the location is well lit.
6. Are the members of the club friendly and can they be your friends?
The fitness club is also a venue for social interaction. Take time to drop by and meet
the members of the club before you enroll. Other members can be your buddies in the
near future and should be considered.
7. What is the schedule of classes and will they be convenient for you?
Find out what classes are offered at a specific time and consider if you will be
available at the schedules given.
8. How much would it cost you?
It is important to know the monthly membership fee and what it covers. Some
fitness clubs have hidden charges and you should be keen in checking that. Check if
they have promotions or discounts and do they offer services at an extra fee. It is
also important to know how long the club has been and how often they increase rates.
9. How is it different from other fitness
American Sniper
What Is A Hero?
An extremely popular film, titled American Sniper, was released just last year.
Chris Kyle is the main character in this incredible true story. In a flashback, his
father said, There are three types of people in the world: the sheep, the wolf, and
the sheepdog. The sheep are the people that depend on everyone to protect and
look after them. The wolf is the man who attempts to bring down society and make
life unbearable for the sheep. The sheepdog is a rare breed, they stand up to the
wolf, and stand up for the sheep (Eastwood). In other words, sheep depend on the
protection of others to stay alive. The wolves are the criminals who try to harm the
dependent people. And the sheepdog is simply... the heroes. Of all the incredible...

First, every variety of heroes must have honor. Honor is important because all
heroes go through times or dangerous situations in which they don t always do
everything correctly. For example, a police officer shoots and/or injures a man
because he was in fear of his own life, but it was not the right move. This officer s
supervisor is infuriated with this decision, the officer could have simply called for
backup, being that he was alone when the scenario went down. Even though the
officer may not completely agree, he must honor the chief s decision in what his
consequences may be. Also, it is imperative that all heroes be honorable; however,
they do not have to be honored. The people who do an affectionate deed and
demand that people reward is a selfish fool. The hero is a man who will put their life
on the line for others and not assert anyone to honor him. An extraordinary example
of this act would be of Spider Man. Spider Man is a comical superhero who has the
fantastic advantages that a spider attains. Advantages such as webbing, ability to
attach himself to walls, and his incredible spider sense (spider sense is the ability
to sense when there is danger coming). This hero jumps into burning buildings and
saves lives, yet he does not require anything in return. Meanwhile, there is a mad
newspaper writer named Jonah Jameson that is infuriated with him and believes he
is a fake. Jameson has all the power he needs; he works at a newspaper company
and can easily write badly about him. However, even though this powerful man is
attempting to change people s opinion about him, he doesn t need people to honor or
respect him... he does nothing about the gossiping
William Howard Taft Essay
William Howard Taft was Americas 27th president. William was born on
September 15, 1857. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio into the Taft family. Taft s
dad, Alphonso Taft was a lawyer and public official; he was Presidents Grant s
secretary of war. Taft s father was a lawyer. William s mother Louise Maria Taft
was Alphonso s second wife. William had two half brothers, two brothers and one
sister. His ancestry consists of English, Scotch Irish. William attended a public
school in Cincinnati. He went to Woodward High School and then Yale University
in 1874. He was quite a smart boy; he graduated second in his whole class of Yale
University. Williams s father also attended Yale and graduated in 1833 to later
become a tutor at Yale. Taft, after

Taft was opposed by William Jennings Bryan, running for a third time. Progressives
were excited with Taft s election and conservatives were delighted to be rid of
Roosevelt. The campaign which Taft won was more about personality than the issues.
Taft won with 52% of the popular vote. Taft knew his techniques would be different
from Roosevelt. Unlike Roosevelt Taft did not believe in stretching his presidential
powers. In foreign affairs Taft pursued an active role in Latin America. Taft thought of
the idea of a World court to deal with issues all over the world. Domestic issues
included Taft shunning many progressive republicans by defending the Payne
Aldrich act which continued high tariff taxes. A trade agreement with Canada was
pushed through congress with Taft s help, but unfortunately the Canadians rejected it.
Taft had many accomplishments as president, but many were not recognized. One
accomplishment of Taft s was 80 antitrust suits. During the Taft administration, more
than twice the numbers of antitrust suits were instigated than under Roosevelt. Major
victories were won against Standard Oil of New Jersey and the American Tobacco
Company, the Sugar Trust and U.S. Steel. Roosevelt was generally supportive of
these Taft actions, but not the move against Morgan and U.S. Steel; the former
president criticized Taft by proclaiming that Taft was unable to see the difference
between a good trust and a bad one. Also

Sample Of Biography Essay.pdf

  • 1. Sample Of Biography Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of a biography, particularly when the focus is on oneself, can be a uniquely challenging task. The difficulty arises not only from the inherent personal nature of the content but also from the delicate balance required to strike between self-reflection and objective storytelling. One must navigate through the intricate details of their life, carefully selecting which aspects to highlight and which to omit, all while ensuring that the narrative remains engaging and coherent. Additionally, the challenge lies in maintaining a sense of humility and authenticity without downplaying personal achievements or experiences. Striking this balance is akin to walking a tightrope, as too much self-praise can come across as arrogant, while excessive modesty may undermine the purpose of the biography. Moreover, the process of introspection required for such an essay can be emotionally taxing. It involves revisiting significant life events, acknowledging personal growth, and, at times, confronting challenges or setbacks. This introspective journey demands a certain level of vulnerability and self-awareness that can be both daunting and cathartic. Furthermore, there's the challenge of presenting the narrative in a way that captivates the reader. A biography essay should go beyond a mere chronological recollection; it should weave a compelling story that resonates with the audience. This requires honing not only writing skills but also a keen understanding of how to transform personal experiences into a universally relatable narrative. In conclusion, crafting a biography essay, especially when the subject is oneself, is a formidable task that demands a delicate balance of self-reflection, humility, and storytelling prowess. It is an intricate process that requires careful consideration of what to include and exclude, all while maintaining authenticity and engaging the reader. For those who find themselves grappling with this challenge, seeking assistance can be a viable option. HelpWriting.net offers a platform where similar essays and much more can be expertly crafted, providing a valuable resource for those navigating the complexities of personal narrative writing. • 2. Similarities Between Esther And Judith In the story of Esther, Esther is able to marry the king and win his heart through her uncle Mordecai s instructions. The king decided to order the slaughter of the Hebrew people in response to the claims Haman made about the Jewish people. Upon finding out about the law Mordecai instantly goes into a state of mourning and tells Esther. Once Esher found out she prepared a meal for the king and Haman and let the king know in the second dinner that she informs the king that she is a Hebrew and the king grants Esther permission to eliminate the law. Judith s story however is extremely different, instead judith uses a more straightforward approach. King Nabuchodonosor, decides to eliminate the Hebrew people by surround the land and cutting
  • 3. Straight Chained Alcohols Discussion This experiment set out to investigate the relation between both straight and branch chained alcohols at various carbon lengths. It was hypothesised that the longest straight chained alcohol would produce the highest level of enthalpy. It was thought that branched chained molecules would have weaker attraction forces due to the fact that they couldn t line up in as a close proximity compared to straight chained alcohols. Resulting in weaker van de waals forces betwixt the branched molecules. Thus allowing, a weaker force necessary to break the molecule apart for combustion (Salters advanced chemistry, 2000). This would then make one assume a smaller rate of enthalpy compared to straight chained alcohols. However, as seen evidently on the graph, the branch chained alcohol clearly disproved this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To further improve this percentage, it is recommended that insulation techniques be carried out on top of the copper rod conduction method to improve efficiency. Insulation is important as it further aids in containing the heat produced from combustion. Further allowing more reliable testing. Testing the enthalpy for control with just an aluminum can using tert butanol produced a low efficiency of 16%. While testing again with tert butanol with the copper increased the efficiency by 32.54% above the control. This shows that the insulation/conduction worked. The method of investigation took into account various variables such as the amount of water, height of retort stand and so on to further increase the validity of the investigation. The only thing in the method which would further improve validity would be to create a way in which to stop the flame from burning right after a five minute testing period per alcohol. This is because valuable grams of alcohol were burnt whilst the can was lifted out of the shroud, in order to place the cap back
  • 4. Cinematic Techniques In Jaws Throughout this oral i will be reviewing the themes, cinematic techniques and props. Jaws is based on Peter Benchley s best selling book. Steven Spielberg transformed this best seller into a horror movie in which scared 95% of people out of the water. This could have easily been one of those cheesy movies where you can just tell what is going to happen but the way Spielberg has incorporated the techniques into the movie is outstanding. Spielberg has used props such as music, sound effects and he has also used many boats to enhance the effects that the shark had on the area. The sound producer has used the same Duh na... duh na.... dun dun dun dun.... music before something bad is about to happen so that it builds the tension up for the watcher.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In one scene he could have 25 different angles and you wouldn t know because you would be so interested in whats happening to focus on the angles of the camera. In the scene where everyone is at the beach there are all the types of camera angles. Close up is used to show the juxtaposition. In one scene where the camera is close up on the sheriffs face it shoes tat he is wearing more clothes then everyone else this shows that he has no intention on going in the water whatsoever. He has a very grumpy or angry look on his face whereas everyone else on the beach is smiling or laughing and having a good time and enjoying the water. On two occasions the sheriff is having a conversation with two people but his attention is o the water because he can see people swimming in the water and he looks like he s getting ready to go save someone if someone gets in trouble. A young man is throwing a piece of wood into the water for his dog to go and fetch. He throws it one last time and the dodgiest return. He is franticly looking for her until the shark attacks. There is another part of this scene when there is a close up of a mother whom has lost her child. Little does she know her son has been eaten by a shark and didn t survive. She sees something wash up about 25m from her and she realises that its her sons floating device and she the starts screaming for her
  • 5. Argumentative Essay On Destiny What is our destiny? Are human souls sands in an hourglass, or each a dazzling jewel in a room of wonders? Who writes our destinies? How much of what happens in our lives does one actually control? The truth is that God writes your future, and every action you do and happens to you was prewritten. God has a plan for every single being, and, at the same time, we have plans for ourselves. One could decide that they will finish high school early and study in a top University. And they do. But that signifies that God s plan and their plan were the same. On the contrary, if their plan did not happen, it expresses it wasn t in their fate. Therefore, whatever does happen, it was still in God s plan. God has written your destiny, and knows every action you are going to carry out. The logic in this mindset is that God is the only one who knows your future, and therefore, you should not be shackled by the imaginative theory of forced destiny. The theory of forced destiny is rather flawed; destiny is something currently in the making, with every action you make, so when you consciously make your own decisions, how can someone else be forcing it? In fact, there is no forced destiny, only the choices you make that become your destiny. Furthermore, trials that occur in life are all tests from God, and are to be persevered through with patience. In the excerpt from The Iraqi War Blog, Faiza Al Araji says, It is a great disgrace that has befallen us, and everyone makes suggestions and

I came from a big family consist of two brothers and four sisters. As the oldest girl I was often responsible for my younger siblings. The porters, far from getting up from their seats when he came in, took no more notice of him than if a simple fly had flown across the reception room (762). The reason for their attitude towards him is because of his appearance. He looks a bit unkempt in comparison to his coworkers, specifically because of his ratty old coat, and they see him as being beneath them; they make fun of him because of this. Urban Stormwater Runoff And Its Effects On The Environment INTRODUCTION Urban stormwater runoff, considered as one of the most significant diffuse pollution sources in urban areas, can cause water quality degradation leading to environmental, ecological and health risks to humans and. Many pollutants, such as nutrients, oils, microbes, metals, solids, and organic contaminants, are transported through runoff from urban places to receiving water. These pollutants can be present in many different forms (e.g. dissolved and particulate bound forms), and differ in origin not only based on the pollutant type but also according to land use type. Literature reviews have stressed the possibility of evaluating water pollutant concentrations (mainly for the total suspended solid) using turbidity which can be very easily monitored continuously. Total suspended solids is one of the most important water quality indicator because the fine sediment is one of the most generally present contaminants found in urban stormwater, which also offers a medium for the build up, conveyance and storage of other pollutants including nutrients and metals (McCarthy et al., 2012). Nowdays, more and more care has been paid on uncertainties in water quantity and quality measurements. Earlier studies have contributed to practices for uncertainty estimates in data from hydrological and water quality measurements. It is recognized that uncertainty is inherent in data and thus should always be taken into account in order to make sensible interpretations and further applications including analysis of data and modeling. EFFECT OF WEATHER ON STORMWATER RUNOFF AND PARTICULATE MATTER Urban runoff quality and pollutant transport mechanisms have been more commonly studied in warm and temperate climates, where local weather situations and catchment properties play a key role, but are less understood and evaluated for cold climates considered by strong seasonal. In warm and temperate climates, much mechanisms are known about the main hydrological variables that have a great effect on runoff quality during

  • 11. Success Is Within The Individual Mind And Expectations Success Success is within the individual mind and expectations. The definition of success differs from just one person s interpretation of what success means. A large block of life is spent working to become successful: acquiring an education, being able to take care of family, achieving a life s ambition, or making money. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. Everyone aspires to be successful at whatever we are doing: starting a new business, repairing the car, writing a term paper or practicing basketball. Every bit our efforts are directed at achieving success. Success is not the end; it is the journey we take and there is no right or wrong idea of success. Money is the primary concern for some people and the main ingredient for anyone who is trying to succeed in life. For this type of person, achieving success starts with going to a good college to compete in a competitive job market and to prepare people to take on the world. People work hard to make money so they can satisfy their desires. People dream about owning a home and take pride in what they possess. Some need to appear successful in order to feel successful. These people feel accomplished when they can admire what their hard work has given them. For some, happiness is all that matters. Happiness is achieved in many ways, and it does not always involve money. A person can feel successful without a lot of money, at all. For example, feeling loved is

Despite the reality that the gay community still copes with oppression in society, the gay rights movement has made tremendous accomplishments throughout history, furthering the thinking of the public and catalyzing awareness of the need for tolerance. To fully understand how this movement has developed and prospered, it is important to know the roots of these issues in history. The very first societies to have dealed with this were the Romans, Greeks, Jews who all had very different viewpoints on gay rights in the 1500s. Leonardo Di Caprio plays the role of Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street . The movie is set in the 1980 s 1990 s, handling a true story, the story of the successful smart nasty Jordan Belfort. Jordan is a stockbroker who started the path by selling penny stocks then evolving to become and I repeat again The Wolf of Wall Street . The movie begins by giving us the idea of Jordan as a dreamer that goes to Wall Street to find a job in the stock market. Jordan was born to a middle class family of 2 accountants, Jordan is young, married, and knows exactly what he wants. Jordan finds a job as a communicator in Wall Street in L.F Rothschild , soonly influenced with his boss Mark Hanna who turns him over to the stockbroker attitude of self profit only and turning customers profit of stocks into buying other stocks (money on paper but not in hand, more profit to the broker). Suddenly his company falls down and Jordan is jobless again. Thus he finds a new job at boiler room brokerage where he sells penny stocks getting 50% commission out
  • 27. Beauty And Beauty In Frankenstein Beauty is pain. It is a common thought and a pervasive one for not only do people define beauty by the amount of suffering a person undergoes but goodness is defined similarly. The two concepts are inextricably related. Studies have shown beautiful people are perceived as of good character while those ugly and deformed seem inherently mischievous and untrustworthy (Dorsey). Yet, everyone has at one time or another met an individual whose beauty is only superficial. Admittedly, this natural instinct toward prejudgment is difficult to control. Examples of individuals violating these instinctual rules of beauty and morality fill the pages of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. Indeed, in her novel, Shelly recognizes and accentuates humanity s prejudice toward ugliness in order to contrast with her personal definitionof beauty one that recognizes virtue as the basis of beauty regardless of physical form so that her theme, that humanity is less above the beast in virtue and intelligence then it believes, is revealed. In a novel that is quite brimming with depictions of horrid acts of violence and mental agony, it is surprising how much time is spent describing beauty. Quite often as an escape from said agony, Victor, the eponymous protagonist, strolls through the nature surrounding his Genevois dwelling. The oft visited nearby lake is described by Victor as a scene so beautiful and heavenly (Shelley, 95) before he considers drowning himself in that peaceful body. To describe a
  • 28. How I Reflect My Academic Writing History Task 1. When I reflect on my academic writing history, I can vividly remember the name of the people that shape my attitude, belief or emotion about writing. It all began, when I was in 6th grade. My teacher at the time, Mrs Postma, would gave us spelling quiz on Fridays. At first, I hated it so much because for one, I just came straight from Togo, and secondly, I m just starting to learn English words. The words she would quiz us on are words that we had spent the week learning. Sometimes, she would give us hints on difficult words, but still I was struggling to understand those hints. We did this twice in every month for the entire year. At the end of the school year, my view on these vocabularies changed. I enjoyed the quizzes and began speaking fluently in English by the end of the year. A couple years later, I started high schooland during my freshman year, my teacher, Mrs. Sisco would have us turn in a book report every week. She would challenge us and she grades hard; it is not easy to get an A in her class. Because of this, I always work hard to write well so that I could get A, but I never seem to get it until the second semester of my freshman year. Mrs. Sisco is one of those teachers that shape my attitude on writing. She did not let me get A with anything I turned in. Although I m not best at writing yet, I know I would not be where I am in writing today without her critics, challenges and of course the help of God. Task 2: Looking back at my life and the

The number three is also used in the Bible there are many moments in the that we clearly see the used of three, for example, the Bible states Jesus prayed three times in the Garden of Gethsemane before his arrest and it also states Three is the number of resurrection. Christ was dead for three full days and three full nights. There are also other numbers that the Bible uses like for example the number 6,7,12 also have a significant impact on life. Network Security And The Security Hospital Network Security With a multitude of changes occurring in the technology field, it is critical that hospitals maintain the highest levels of security for their internal network as well as their public access network. Hospitals contain vital information about patients, treatment styles, employees and staff, as well as pharmaceuticals that are kept on the premises. The importance of protecting this information cannot be understated and a breach in securitycould cause a breakdown in all areas of the network, having a catastrophic effect on the entire hospital. One of the most important aspects of network security is a strong network security model. This entails the prevention of a physical attack on servers and other devices connected to the network. The physical layer is one of the most important layers of protection because if it is breached, the layers beneath it will

  • 38. Functionalist View On Prostitution To begin, I believe that society defines when lifestyle choices become social problems. Society can be defined as an organized group of people that are associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes (Dictionary Reference. 2015). Individuals develop their own opinions about certain social problems. This results in people forming groups based on their opinions and these groups are known as society. An example of society determining what a social problem is would be prostitution. Prostitution can be considered a social problem because society has such a diverse view on it. Functionalists believe that the existence of such deviance is needed in order to produce stability in society (Kendall, D. 2012). Functionalists believe that prostitution allows people to engage in sexual practices and benefits the economy by creating jobs for people with limited education and job skills (Kendall, D. 2012). The symbolic interactionist believes that prostitution is a business deal that provides women with a way to earn money while satisfying other people s needs.
